Politics › Re: Osinbajo Is Buhari's Preferred Candidate Ahead Of APC Primary - Independent by Help2020: 8:02am On Jun 01, 2022 |
hisexcellency34: President Muhammadu Buhari is backing the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as his preferred aspirant ahead of the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) billed to hold this weekend in Abuja.
A senior presidential aide who disclosed this to our correspondent yesterday said Buhari strongly believed that having worked closely with him since May 2015, Osinbajo is the best aspirant to continue with the policies of the administration.
The president is also said to be impressed with the way the Vice-President has piloted the affairs of the country during the period he held fort as Acting President.
He said this backing by Buhari is responsible for the confidence Osinbajo has exuded so far in the race for the presidential ticket of the party. Speaking further, he said following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some power brokers in the APC tried to project Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as their best so as to rival Atiku in the North but their proposal was rejected.
" As at today, Tuesday, the President is firmly behind the Vice-President as his preferred aspirant. He has refused to shift ground even after some members of his kitchen cabinet started rooting for Ahmad Lawan after the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as PDP presidential candidate".
" Some northern powerful forces and religious leaders are pushing for a Northern candidate while others are behind the moves to draft former President Goodluck Jonathan into the race so that he can serve just one term and return power back to the North in 2027 but Buhari is not buying into all that".
" Those pushing for Lawan had argued that since Atiku is from the North East of Adamawa, the APC should also present its candidate from another North- East state but the proposal was quickly shot down by some concerned stakeholders who also have the ears of the President".
" Those against Lawan argued that if fielded as APC presidential candidate, the election will be a walkover for PDP and Atiku as he will even beat the Senate President hands down in his home state of Yobe. The only place Lawan is popular is in Yobe North Senatorial District" our source said. https://independent.ng/apc-ticket-osinbajo-is-buharis-preferred-candidate/ Buhari is a confuse man.. After 7years he is still not sure of his candidate. Last time he said on TV he does not want to reveal his preferred candidate, and now we are hearing he needs Governors to support him in choosing this man is way too confuse,no wonder Nigeria is doing so badly under him |

railone: If the sanctions aren't working, meaning Russia has figured out a way to be immune to it, why all these daily wailing?
There are some things you don't need something to analyze for you. Just common sense.
Example, Lockheed is sanctioned by China yet there's never a day that Lockheed has ever said, China should remove the sanctions because it's not working. Why? because the sanctions isn't working so no need to cry about it.
But you see Russia and their propagandists, every day, Ruble is doing better, sanctions don't work. EU should remove sanctions or they will suffer. If it's not working, shut up about it, will you? You end up saying nothing |

Politics › Re: Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by Help2020: 8:19pm On May 25, 2022 |
Penguin2: Having seen the resignation letter of Peter Obi from PDP which confirmed his exit from the party and withdrawal from the party’s presidential race, I’m tempted to question the rationale behind that decision.
I’m an ardent supporter of Peter Obi but I think that if he has truly resigned from the PDP, then he has goofed; it’s a complete faux pax for him.
Because I do not see any other platform that can possibly grant him victory in the general election.
Remaining in PDP would have guaranteed either the presidential ticket or vice presidential ticket which would have brought him closer to the presidency.
As we wait to confirm if this is fake or true, and to know Obi’s next move, I make bold to say that this decision, if confirmed, was a miscalculation. We are not after Vic presidential anything. Atiku that is likely to be their flag bearer is not better than Obi,so why should he be rooting for vic? |
