Religion / Re: Will Mad People Go To Heaven Or Hell? by henry4uall(m): 6:42pm On Apr 20, 2009
The question of who goes to hell or not is not a question of what someone did or what he did not do. WHAT SENT PPLE TO HELL IS MORE OF WHO THEY ARE THAN WHAT THEY DO. If he's born again b4 he was sick, why will he go mad?  A born again christian is a new species who is not subject to sickness, disease and as such. But if for the reason of his/her ignorance, he's saddled with such and he eventually dies this is what happens.Since he is a spirit and his spirit is saved then he goes to be with the lord. read 1cor 15:53-54
If he's not born-again HELL IS OPEN!
Politics / Obj At It Again Oooooo by henry4uall(m): 8:33am On Mar 20, 2009
FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday vehemently declared that he was not corrupt and that he was ready to face trial if found culpable of corruption.

Chief Obasanjo, who was answering questions on the British Broadcasting Corporation interview programme Hard Talk, said he is the only former president in Nigeria that has ever been investigated by the two anti-corruption agencies in Nigeria.

Describing BBC Stephen Sackur’s allegation that he was a corrupt leader as an insult, said “when you allege you must have facts.” He stated that it was under his government that three ministers and a senate leader were arrested and prosecuted for corruption: “ What else do you want,” Obasanjo queries.

On his daughter, Iyabo, who is being investigated for alleged corrupt practices, Chief Obasanjo said she’s not been convicted. Asked if he will take responsibility for Iyabo, Obasanjo said, “I beg your pardon, she is a 42-year-old woman and can take responsibility for herself. You are insulting me, can you say that to a European leader?

“Will you take responsibility for your 21-year-old son?” Chief Obasanjo asked Sackur.

I believe there are more corrupt past nigerian leaders than OBJ. What do you think?

This is one hell of a thread in which everyone seem to be focused in one direction without objective assessment of the subject matter.   A lot of people on the thread could not decipher between political activism and political appointment. Because of the role of prof dora in NAFDAC, a lot of people are mistaken her for a political activist. She might have handled NAFDAC with iron fist, but that still didnt make her an activist. Political activism are in the domain of Ganis, Falanas and Kutis of this world. As a DG she discharged her duty with reponsibity to her boss. She didnt act alone, she acted in accordance to the policy direction of the government that appointed her.

I said it earlier, a minister is a politician. Prof is being groomed for politics, watch out in the coming years for a metamorphosis of one time DG of NAFDAC to a Governor of Anambra State. Anyone who takes a ministerial appointment has also in effect taken a political appointment. Even Nigeria Constitution affirm that. Paragraph 147 section 5 of the constitution says:
No person shall be appointed as a Minister of the Government of the Federation unless he is qualified for electionas a member of the House of Representatives.
so I ask you who is 'qualified' for election?

Whether Dora is in health, finance, Information or whatever, she will function in accordance with the policy direction and agenda of the Government that appoints her. I know a journalist with Thisday Newspapers those days, I used to read his column regularly, Olusegun Adeniyi. His articles were always in opposition to Government. You would change your opinion on any issue if you read his articles. Today, Olusegun Adeniyi is Yar-Adua Spokesman. He's the mouth-piece of the president. Yar-Adua must have seen him and thought; rather than using your talent to run my government down, come use it to lift me up. Yar-Adua appointed prof dora Information minister, beacause he's obviuosly looking from where a lot of you could not see. No Crime  wink

@ henry4uall

I really wonder "what  instinct, zeal, honesty, and thoroughness in dealing with those problems used in NAFDAC" will do in her new post. We are all concern about her personality after all she knows less to nothing about this new post. Get me clear, what you've stated is quiet right but not in this game. For how long would she be able to prove her true qualities without doing it 'their' own way. She can do it but she will definately be manipulated even against her own wish.

@D-Explorer
Do you care to know the reaction of prof about her new appointment and about her appointment in NAFDAC. Hear it from the horse's mouth:

“What I will tell them (supporters that were disappointed with her portfolio) about my posting is that anything that happens in this life is approved by God. Nothing happens without God’s approval.

“God wants me to be here today and I can feel it because Nigeria’s image needs to be revived”, she said, adding that with a bad image, “we cannot achieve Vision 2020-20”.

Akunyili also said that her new role was much more vital than most people understand.

“Where I am now is the soul of the nation, image is the soul of the nation and information is power.

“I believe that God will give me the skill to present it successfully; after all when I went to NAFDAC, I did not know anything about NAFDAC. But I wanted to succeed,” she said, adding that if things were done the right way, “Nigeria is a good product that we can easily sell.”

“Nigerians should also do their part by doing their best as citizens”, she added.

For how long would she be able to prove her true qualities without doing it 'their' own way. She can do it but she will definately be manipulated even against her own wish.

Once you are a minister, you have to do it your master's way. Once you become minister you have to align with the common goal of you 'master' You have to do his bid. She has taken and accepted her appointment, you can't know a man more that he knows himself.

What do technocrats in nigeria civil service do? Sit in da office and gist because ''na govt work''. And tell me how the minister is supposed to know whether a report submitted by a so-called ''technocrat'' is accurate or just something to fill the books? Ministers should be well-informed and experienced in the position they are to fill. If the govt of nigeria is not mocking us, we should even be discussing this.

You will understand me well if you could understand the simplest fact that all the achievements of Prof Dora in NAFDAC is not a result of her Ph.D certificate in Phamacology or whatever. You could be 'well-informed' and experience and make a mess of your position (4get!). Prof didn't succeed in NAFDAC because of her certificates in phamacology, she succeeded because of her instinct, zeal, honesty, and thoroughness in dealing with those problems in NAFDAC. And all am saying is that, she can be anywhere and still function well. She's got the instinct for leadership (believe it!). Try to separate her from her certificate may be it will help you! wink

It's not only 90% of commentators on this topic are expressing shock and surprise but even those outside. Check the link below.

Regardless of any shock whoever may express, what you are dealing with here is a strategy in the hands of political game planner. And that in itself is not a crime. And might not be a target to destroy her, but to gain politically by yar-adua administration. The question is this: WHAT CRIME WOULD YOU SAY THE PRESIDENT COMMIT IN HIS CHOICE OF PROF DORA FOR INFORMATION MINISTER? Which rule, law, or constitution stipulate you must be a Medical Dr. to be appointed minister of health? or You must be a scientist to be appointed minister of science etc? GET THIS STRAIGHT: MINISTERS ARE POLITICIANS. PROF IS ENTERING POLITICS. If prof becomes president tomorrow is she going to be president of health? Those canvassing for her to be appointed minister of health react pls.

Over 90% of the posts have read on this thread are saying altmost the same thing. Let me enlightnen some of you a bit. In the civil service structure ministers are politicians irrespective of the ministry. Each of the ministries have technocrats in the name of 'Directror General' who is sitting at the downstream implementing govt policy. Prof Dora, was NAFDAC DG, and by that she was proactive implementing policy of Government on Drug and Food Administration. Immediately she was tipped for a ministerial appointment any stern political onlookers should know, prof is needed for politics and not for any technical work per se. So wether prof is in health, info, finance etc she can do her work. None of he criteria of selecting a minister stipulate your have to own a degree in the area your ministry is responsible for. All those thinking prof should be in Health or somewhere else are thinking inside the box. Think Outside the Box pls! Yar-ardua is a genius, watch it.!! Prof has all the aura, charisma, and good public image to sell Govt Info to anyone in the country going be her antecedent. I will make her Information Minister 1000 times if am a president.  wink

SO THE NAME OF GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE IS 'OSUNBOR'. I REMEMBER ONE OSUNBOR IN ANNENIH'S GANG THAT TIME. I MEAN THIEF ANNENIH NOT CHIEF ANNENIH ( OR DOES IT MATTER? BOTH ARE RASCALS ANYWAY). grin grin

ANYWAY I CONGRATULATE THE PEOPLE OF EDO STATE FOR THIEF VICTORY OVER THESE THIEFS. TELL THE PROF TO GO BACK TO CLASS, HIS STUDENTS ARE WAITING FOR HIM.

Jaytee67:

Under whatever disguise it may be, it is not good enough for a "pastor" to take politics to the pulpit.

Taking politics to the pulpit or talking politics on the pulpit, which one are you talking? They are two different issues. The 'pulpit' can not be quiet while the devil is having free days with 'politics'.
Politics / Re: "Resign Now!", Pastor Bakare Tells Yar’adua! by henry4uall(m): 12:25pm On Sep 09, 2008
Everybody seems to be getting this thing wrong. If Pastor Bakare had pronounced that yar-ardua was God-sent earlier and it turned out later the 'God-sent' became something else, who do you blame? God, the man of God or the 'God-sent'?  Do you all know the story of saul in the Bible? Was Saul choosen by God? Was he anointed? Was he sent? The answer is yes. Saul was chosen, anointed of God and yet he ended a bad leader. So do you blame God here? or Samuel the prophet? or Saul himself? I think we need to be careful what we say about these Men of God. If Pastor Bakare committed adultery, its not for me to judge him or speak about him, its between him and the one that sent him. If you are a Christian, and you posted on this topic and talked in bad manner to Pastor Bakare, then its either you are not trained or you dont understand your bible at all.

I fear for this country. Is it not high time this govt stop for once and reflect if he has achieved any thing from the series and unending probes.  Now one of the the govt  hench men has goofed again, and for that another pipeline attack is imminent. I read from the news again that the power probe committee are also under probe. probe after probe. This govt at the end of its tenure might not have anything to show nigerians aside this fruitless and unending probes.

I dont expect anything from this govt, i think it might the worse govt ever in this country.

God save Nigerians

denex:

This shows that Nigeria is not ready for this Democracy thing at all. We don't even know how democracy works.

Etteh does not have the power to stay in the House of Representatives without the support of the majority of her constituency. I have mentioned earlier that this woman is in the House by the grace of the majority vote of the people of Ayedaade/Isokan/Irewole Federal Constituency of Osun state.

The fact that they still keep her there means that she is acting very much in accordance with their wishes. As long as they are satisfied with her actions, there is nothing we can do to remove her from the House of Representatives.

As for her remaining speaker, she doesnt have that power. All we need to do is call on our own Representatives and order them to impeach her or vote her out from the position of Speaker.

I really can't understand what this whole fuss is about.

@denex, what inform you her constituency is satisfied with her action? Let me ask you, What power the citizen of this country have to elect a political office holder? You should no better that more than 90% of those elected into those offices were there by corrupt electoral system. Tell me how you want them to remove those they did not elect in the first place? dont blame the innocent poeople in her constituency, blame the electoral system that produce the kind of speaker you have.
