Some of these leaders are just two proud. Here is a Gov'nor who has made a very gullible statement about a national burning issue as regards the barbaric killings of young innocent boys and Girls who were serving in his state, yet he could not follow the path of honour to simply apologise to Nigerians for those coward statements. For the record: The Govnor, said those corpers killed in cold blood by his people were destined to die in such manner, in order words, the killers helped them to fulfill there destinies. Now you come around to tell us about some Islamic faiths, knowing fully well that those corpers were mainly Christians who do not share those absurd faith of yours. How dare you!!! You have spoken, and we have heard you, just as they say, words are like egg, when dropped on the floor and shattered, cannot be packed, your words will ever remain within our consciousness; as one, who has tried to justify the massacre of innocent Nigerians on the basis of "Islamic Faith".

2007 election that brought late Musa Yar-Ardua to power was one of the worse election ever conducted anywhere in the world. The Late former president even agreed he was rigged in. There is no way anybody in his right thinking would compare this election with the one conducted by Ewu (or is it Iwu) in 2007, in terms of its credibility, openness, fairness etc. In 2007, we did not see protests like this, we did not see senseless killings like the one we are witnessing right now. This election protests we see now is not about wether election is free, fair or credible; its about who wins, its about the region of the country where the winner comes from, its about North and South, its about the tribes, language etc.

It is sad that our country politics is still full of this kind of evil sentiments.

rhymz:

the problem I have with muslims(both good and bad) is the way they like to be in denial of the fact that Islam is inherently violent, it can turn average devout muslim(both literate and illiterate) into a violent person filled with hate and intolerance. The ideology of the Quoran is deeply rooted in violent take overz and sense of ownership and duty to take up arms or be violent against non-muslims whom they call infidels. What we see today in Islam are misconceptions and miscarriages of those very vague teachings that always verges on intolerance and violent extremism. Until Islamic scholarz and leaderz learn to speak out and not just condemn it and wait to hear the next terror they inflict on people then every non-muslim will continue to see islam as a Violent religion that fills its followerz with bile and gall and give them justification to be terrorists of all sorts. Muslim leaders are the most culpable of the miscarriages of violent islamic ideology, they never teach their congregation how to be tolerant and peaceful, instead, they are fond of mixing their sermons with doses of politics and use what happens in the middle East as a yardstick for how every muslim must see non-muslims. Yet they are the ones that rush to condemn their acts while in another breath they encourage them, I mean is the volte-face a smokescreen of political correctnessg? Islam needs a departure from its current ideology if it must be seen as a peaceful religion. For now, it is the most violent, hateful, rebellious religion on Earth, that is a Fact!

I am a christian and I dont believe the bolded assertion you made above. Act of terrorism is condemmed no matter who is involved, but we shd be careful with our generalization. Religion, wether islam or christianity are capable of breeding violent. Statistics have it that religion has claim more innocent lifes than all the world wars killings put together. During the Roman catholic era, when it is forbidden to read translated bible or preach any gospel the papacy considered to be heretic. Great many innocent that hold such believes were put to death (burnt, hanged etc.). This type of violent is a legitimized and state masterminded. The papacy were christians, they read bible, but do we considered that the bible preach violent? No! Yet the likes of mytr Martin luther,  and others protestant were mass executed because they held different believes from the papacy. That's Religion for you. Christianity is not a religion, anyone who thinks it is has not read the bible enough. Christianity is a life of God in human person. While Religion is acts of men trying to reach God in their own ways, Christianity is God acts reaching men in his own ways. When you try to do the former, your breed violent, whether Islamic or christianic!.

I have lived in the north for all parts of my life. When I got to Kaduna, I was accomodated by a devout muslim, He housed me for a year, and fed  me for a year. I was not forced or even suggested to to become a muslim. I played my messages in their sitting room, they never complained or said anything. What we witnessing today is devil at work and the best we can do is to pray against it. God bless you all!

Jakumo:

Now this is really getting entertaining.  Ayatollah Mumu Buhari, that one-time Nigerian military tyrant who attained global notoriety by muzzling the press and tossing real and imaginary dissidents into airless cells where many ultimately died, and who decades later compounded his lunatic credentials by expressing an obsessive desire for Nigeria to become a fully-fledged Islamic Taliban rogue state, now cozies up to a Christian miracle pastor known for laundering embezzled government funds in exchange for bogus prayers promising impunity, all in a FUTILE AND DOOMED bid to reprise Buhari's dictatorial role for another round of kleptomania and sadistic repression.

Listen up Buhari, you repulsive, baboon-faced, murderous Islamic zealot, and listen closely.   You will NEVER attain any measure of political power for as long as you waste oxygen on this green planet.  You can run to Pastor Eunuch and bugger his rectal orifice till you are blue in the face, yet in the end you will continue to remain the CAREER FAILURE that you are cursed to be, until you die unexpectedly and flat broke from frittering away all the cash you looted as a Nigerian despot.

Rot in HELL, Ayatollah Buhari, you horrible, disgusting cretin, for that will be your final, richly deserved abode in due course.   Pastor Eunuch is too busy fleecing his glassy-eyed flock for fuel money to fly his luxury jet for him to ever give a rat's anus about your latest in an unbroken string of FAILED presidential toilet runs.  Die Buhari, DIE.  Ha ha ha ha ha.

@Jakumo, I don't think the man deserve all these ur outbursts. Is it an offense to seek support from men of God for political campaign?

Modu Sheriff hasn’t added value to governance in Borno
–Senator Abba Aji

Special Adviser to President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Abba Aji has described the All Nigerian Peoples Party,[ANPP] led government of Senator Modu Sheriff in Borno State  as a colossal failure.
Speaking with Daily Sun, the politician from Borno appraised the Borno State governor and gave a damning verdict.
Excerpts:

Can  the Peoples Democratic Party, ever win in Borno, because it is perpetually divided against itself in the State ?
Let me tell you the truth. PDP, I admit has its own internal crisis, there is no doubt about it. But Borno is there to be grabbed by any party, other than ANPP, since we are going to have free and fair election.

For the following reasons. One, take the field of education. Borno State is the only state in Nigeria, where in so many years the governor has failed to add one school by any name, even  one wasn’t added by any local government under Modu Sheriff administration, not alone secondary school.

Our own tertiary institutions have been on strike for the last three years, up till now they are on strike. The Ramat  Polytechnic and college of education and he doesn’t care. It was after I talked to BBC and Voice of America that I asked them to go and verify and they went to Universal Basic Education and they went to the state.

I said to them, I am not talking about the redesign of an existing school or the renovation of an existing school but I am talking about bringing to existence for the first time, a new school by any name, even primary, even nursery and they went round and they couldn’t find any  and they reported.
Recently, if you remember the Universal Basic Education, [UBE] did an award given ceremony and Adamawa was number one, Borno was the last!
It is terrible. It was when I started this complain on BBC and VOA that he woke up from his slumber.

Do you know what he is now doing? Sheriff is building boarding primary schools!. Sheriff is building six of them. Tell me, in this age of kidnapping and ritual killing, who will take his six year old and go and throw away in a boarding primary school?
Another thing that will discourage parents from taking their kids to boarding primary schools is feeding. Secondary schools in Borno today ,  go and check their current budget. It provides for N20 per child per day for feeding. Boarding secondary schools ! Today, the Federal Ministry of Interior provides for prisoners in federal prisons in Maiduguri, N200 per day per prisoner for feeding. You can go and verify.

So, how can a child feed on N20 per day?
So, prisoners in Borno get a better deal than students ?
Exactly, he doesn’t care about education. That’s one. Secondly, there is no single person that has completed university or polytechnic education that has gone to federal civil service commission , attended an interview and was employed by Borno state government in the last seven years. No.
If you go and check the list of all those employed by Borno State, you find very few people on grade level 7, or 9, because these are people that have been there before Ali Sheriff and they have been promoted.

It is a very top heavy civil service and there are no new entrants.
So, the lower position in the state civil service is empty. They haven’t employed anybody. They only employ political thugs. In fact, on allegation of sympathy to PDP, they have fired about 8,000 civil servants. Many of them are in court now. Borno state is the only state, where you pay leave grant and you list it as a government achievement. Payment of leave grant! Go to the health care centers.  The general hospital in Maiduguri was built by the British in 1947.

Now, it has been closed down, continuously for the last three years. Why? He said he was renovating it. Is that how to renovate a hospital?
The only state government hospital in Maiduguri has also been closed down for renovation. Both hospitals closed down. The only hospital is the one he built near the airport; that’s even not an hospital, because it doesn’t have a radiology department. It can not do X- ray, it has no laboratory department, it has no mortuary.
All the doctors that we trained have left the state service, because he refused to pay them the agreed salary and allowance. They moved to Gombe, some moved to Katsina, some to National Hospital here in Abuja and these were all trained with Borno state money. They moved to where the authorities are paying the agreed salary and allowances.

So, today Borno state has only 35 doctors in its employment, half of which are NYSC. Don’t believe me,  just go and check this. Go to Kirawa today, the person that they call the doctor in the hospital did physical health education and they call him in that village the doctor. Then move over to Lasa, you find that the only doctor there is a female NYSC.  That’s all.

But your party that could take advantage of the rot you just painted is divided against itself.
But we are still optimistic. You know why?  Even the 2007 election, Ali Sheriff knew that he didn’t win it. We have 27 local government, out of which only result in respect of 12 had come in, when somebody here in Abuja, not the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Maiduguri, but one commissioner here in Abuja  announced Ali Sheriff  as having won the election!

Here in Abuja. When I called the REC, I said to him, `how come,`? and he said, `I don’t know where Abuja got their result from. As far as we are concerned we are still waiting for result from fifteen local government .`
You see, Ali Sheriff knows that it isn’t people that elected him. The people who put him there was INEC, the police, and the military at that time, because Obasanjo actually wanted him to have a second term and he didn’t hide it, although he was the leader of our party, but he made it clear to us that Ali Sheriff was his own and come rain, or shine, Sheriff must have a second term.

If you ask any leader of PDP in Borno they will tell you this, because Obasanjo didn’t make any secret of this fact. So, he made INEC to announce Sheriff here in Abuja. This is something that is known to everybody and I don’t think Obasanjo would deny this, if you ask him.
He was courageous enough to tell us Borno state stakeholders, when we met him. He said Sheriff deserved a second term.
But there is speculation that being master of the game, he is already romancing Jonathan; that once he backed Jonathan- for- president project, Borno is ANPP for keep. You admitted that he sent delegates to the recent Northern Political Summit in Kaduna.

No, President Jonathan is different from Obasanjo. Jonathan is a party man, a real grass root politician. Obasanjo was brought from the top.
You know it. So, he did what he wanted in our state. There was no state that had been victimized by Obasanjo such as Borno and we know it. Even the national headquarter of PDP knows it.

President Goodluck Jonathan is a grassroot politician, he wouldn’t allow it. He knows Ali Sheriff inside out. He knows his duty to the nation and that’s why he is committed to free and fair election.
Let me tell you, the Goodluck Jonathan that I know will congratulate anybody who defeats him in the presidential election of 2011. There is no doubt about it, let alone helping somebody to undermine the laws.

I almost shed tears when I read this. UNBELIEVABLE!

Obviously at this stage I had no choice but to settle into the flight. I was then given a menu and with a wine list. I was first served cold chicken pepper soup. The chicken was diced and you could see the ingredients settled at the bottom of the plate with clear water on top. I asked for it to be warmed and your kind and efficient hostess attempted to do that. For my main meal I asked for eba with okra. I swear to God who made me when the eba arrived I almost asked the captain to stop let me come down. I was served two pieces of eba both the size of a bazooka chewing gum (for those of who don’t know bazooka chewing gum-the eba could not have been more than the size of a Wrigley’s airwaves chewing gum),the meat was about the size of my thumb,2 pieces. And once again it was cold. I gave up at this stage and just asked to be given champagne. I was given a long list and when I ordered the reply was-“we don’t have that one”. You didn’t have any of the brands I chose. You had only one brand and I had to stick to it. Why has a list when you know you have no intention of serving what is on it?

Some people will never stop amazing me for the reasons they give to discredit others. So because of a bowl of 'Eba' and Okra soup, you are calling us to stop flying Arik. So you will prefer to be served 20 bowls of 'Eba' and Okra soup on the flight as against flying safely to your destination. 'Onijekuje 'omo-okele'.

It is sick, when you heard he appoint prof nnaji to be adviser on power. That is pure nonsense. Prof nnaji does not know anything about power. I even know more than prof Nnaji. The bible says we should not boost. I know more than prof Nnaji.

This man read mechanical engineering and have never had a real job in his life. apart from teaching. How do you expect him , a mechanical engineering teacher to solve an electrical engineering problem. He is square hole in round peg.

Quote me, I Adesegun can solve the problem that has taken PDP 12 years to solve. I mean what have taken the PDP 12 years to solve. I Adesegun can solve it. if white people were paying dollar to solve thier problem. Then you would know I can solve it.

What is your point really? That a mechanical engineer cannot be appointed a power adviser to the president? If you want it by book, over 60% of power system is composed of mechanical parts. From generation, to transmission and even the distribution. Have you physically seen a power plant before? A gas power plant has most of its parts mechanical, A hydro the same (some civil though). The choice of prof Nnaji is the fair enough, Check his cv b4 you conclude.

Sports / U-17 Loc Spends 400m On Buscuits, Chew-gums And Brooms by henry4uall(m): 8:32am On Oct 15, 2009
THE Local Organising Committee for the Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria may have run into a financial hitch as the committee is currently contending with debts totalling N2 billion owed to contractors, Nigerian Tribune can report.

Already, the sum of N4.8 billion was said to have been spent on the purchase of materials said not to be of immediate necessity for the hosting of the competition, while the most pressing materials, including security and communication gadgets, are being given secondary attention.

The committee was alleged to have spent the N400 million earmarked for test-running the facilities put in place on the procurement of assorted biscuits, soft drinks and lorry loads of brooms.

According to an impeccable source, “the LOC is supposed to test-run the facilities put up for the U-17 World Cup. “It pains when (Jack) Warner said that we were not ready to host the world and even suggested that we should learn from Egypt. The man would not have slammed us, if those at the LOC had done what they ought to have done well.

“Imagine that the N400 million earmarked for the test-run has been spent to buy brooms, biscuits and soft drinks which they said would be used during the championship.”

However, while reacting to the allegations, the LOC General Manager (Media), Emeka Odikpo, confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune that they bought biscuits and soft drinks, but denied that N400 million was spent on the items, though he refused to disclose the amount spent to buy the items.

The situation, coming less than two weeks to the kick off of the FIFA-organised soccer competition, according to findings, was due to the alleged mismanagement of funds approved by the Federal Government for the hosting of the competition.

This is coming amid a reported face-off between the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on contract awards in which the NFF is said to have been sidelined.

The development, according to investigations, got to a head this week with contractors handling various contracts resolving to stage a protest against the NSC and the LOC, to press for the payment of the money owed them.

Checks revealed that the contractors were angered when they were told not to expect full payment for the jobs they were handling until after the soccer competition, as the NSC was said to be rationing the available funds.

There was the allegation also that some Toyota Camry cars purchased to ease transportation during the competition were not brand new, even as some top officials of the NSC were accused of distributing the cars among themselves while leaving out those officially meant to put the cars to use.

Some vehicles said to have been hijacked by the commission’s officials include two buses, one Camry car, two Hilux pick up van, one Prado Jeep, one Range Rover and a Toyota Corolla car.

Those directly involved in awarding contracts were also accused of inflating the costs, as mention was made of the case of portakabin whose cost was jacked up from N1.2 million to N5 million.

It was reported also that auditors had been kept out of the contract deals, while none of them had been allowed to inspect any of the vehicles so far purchased.

The preparations for the soccer competition are said to have been affecting registered sponsors, including Globacom Telecommunications and Coca-Cola, given their noticeable reluctance towards the competition.

The sum of N400 million was reported to have been earmarked for re-grassing of 20 training pitches across the federation, even as the officials, according to inside sources, at a time, contemplated importing grown grasses from Spain.

The condition of the training pitches, most especially in Abuja, is nothing to write home about, according to investigations. There may be a last-minute recourse to the Julius Berger training pitches, in the event that the pitches do not meet the deadline.

What was considered as most worrying was that the media guide is being stalled on the grounds that FIFA had demanded the telephone numbers of the entire workforce and the subsets.

Moreover, the luxury buses that would be used by the visiting teams were yet to arrive and also the 78 vehicles said to be coming from FIFA, through its sponsors, few days to the arrival of contingents. Participating countries are expected in Nigeria from different countries beginning from next Monday.
