'That is not true!' He started, adding that 'Zimbabwe is the most highly developed country in Africa. After South Africa, I want to see another country as highly developed.

Kim Zolciak made a desperate plea to see John Legend on Wednesday night at daughter Brielle Biermann‘s expense.

While Zolciak, 38, later tweeted at Brielle, 20, she also received a reply from Legend’s social-savvy wife, Chrissy Teigen.

Ogbonna Collins Chukwuemeka (AKA ROCHAS), the Students Labour Forum President, Former SUG PRO and a 500-level students of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) who was expelled on the 3rd of April for having led the Protest on the 17th of February against hike in tuition fees restated that the management of the University increased students’ fees as a means to generate revenue for the school.

Mr. Chukwuemeka, disclosed to SaharaReporters that the school was hell bent on raising internally generated revenue through anyway with the most effective means being exploiting the students.

He lamented that the increment came seven months after the inauguration of the incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francis Chukwuemeka Eze.

“The outrageous hike in fees came to students as a shocking announcement. The fee was on the high side and considering the economic situation of the country, the increase is unacceptable. The fees we are being asked to pay at FUTO are too high, and the burden will tell on all students especially newly admitted students who will have to pay acceptance and lodge fee etc.” Mr. Collins said.

Negating the claim of the management who through the V.C, spoke to Hot 99.5 FM and claimed that the tuition fee of the institution is only #13,000.
Mr. Collins disclosed that students of FUTO pay over #30,000 including various debased fee added to students’ tuition fees like Course registration, practical fees etc

The university geometrically increased fees are as follows:

— Acceptance fee for Freshmen was increased from #25,000 to #42,300

— Tuition fees for Freshmen was increased from #48,300 to #56,300.

— Second and third-year students tuition fees was increased from #33,300 to #39,300.

— Fourth year to final year students had their tuition fees increased from #27,300 to #39,300.

If you didn't pay your tuition fees before the Stated date, you be billed extra #10,000 for late Registration.

Another student who spoke anonymously to SaharaReporters said that the management is unconcerned about the students wellbeing and parental background and only wish to make money for the school through expulsion.

A 100 Level female Law student of the University of Ibadan on Wednesday said a died on Monday during a show at her hall of residence.


According to a statement signed by the institution’s Director of Public Communications, Olatunji Oladejo, said Effiong Imarbong died after she jumped from a dangerous position having displayed signs of restlessness during the show.

The statement said,


“It is with deep regret that the management of the University of Ibadan announces the sudden death of Miss Effiong Deborah Imarbong, a 100 Level student in our Faculty of Law on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
“Her sudden death, however, remains a mystery. It is in the light of the above that the university management wishes to state that the cause(s) of her death are still being investigated by the appropriate authorities. Moreover, her parents had been duly contacted by the relevant key officers of the university on the loss.
“It is pertinent to state that by the tradition of the Queen Elizabeth II Hall where she was a resident, an event tagged ‘Freshers/Finalists’ Week’’ was organised by the hall’s Executive Council.
“Her colleagues reported that the deceased was seen at the hall cafeteria, the venue of the movie show.
“Furthermore, it was reported that she was seen at about 8.40pm. Thereafter, she received a telephone call from a fellow; she left the venue of the movie show to meet the caller. The fellow had been identified after her death by the Campus Security Service.”



Imarbong became hyperactive and developed strange attitude after returning to the hall and left the venue after a wild dance.“It was further revealed that she left the venue of the movie show and, thereafter, there was a bang, which her colleagues explained, she jumped from a dangerous position in the Hall. She was later found by her colleagues in a seemingly helpless condition in the precinct of the hall,” the statement said.


The deceased was rushed to the UCH where effort to safe her live proved futile.

The palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu was on fire today.

The incident started around 1:30 p.m from an air condition in an apartment inside the palace, destroying furniture and other household items in the room.

Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service battled to put it out and Oba Akioluwas taken to a safe place.

Eminem has taken New Zealand’s governing party to court over a music track it used for a campaign advert.


The U.S. rapper says the song, used in the 2014 advert by the National Party, was an unlicensed version of Lose Yourself, one of his biggest hits.

But the party’s lawyers argue it was not actually Lose Yourself, but a track called Eminem-esque which they bought from a stock music library.

The case began on Monday, with the two tracks played in court.


A lawyer for Eight Mile Style – a publishing group representing the artist – said Lose Yourself was “iconic” and “without doubt the jewel in the crown of Eminem’s musical work”.

The 2014 advert featured shots of rowers and a voiceover urging people to “keep the team that’s working” and return the National Party to office at the coming election.

The backing track, Eminem-esque, was strikingly similar to Lose Yourself, which appeared in Eminem’s 2002 film 8 Mile.

It had the same insistent driving rhythm, though did not feature any words.

The track had been taken from a library made by production music company Beatbox.

Songs which sound similar to famous tracks – but different enough to avoid breaching copyright – routinely feature in free-to-use commercial music libraries.

But Eight Mile Style lawyer Gary Williams said the use of the song had been a breach of copyright.

He told the court that emails showed some in the National Party campaign team had raised copyright concerns at the time, but decided the composer, not them, would be liable.

That was “just wrong, in law” Mr Williams said, according to the New Zealand Herald.

Mr Williams said permission had only very rarely been given for use of Lose Yourself.

“When licensed, it can command in the millions of dollars. That’s how valuable it is,” he said.

The National Party denies being responsible for any copyright infringement.

Defence lawyer Greg Arthur said copyright was “not in any way proven by the name given to a piece of music”.

The case is expected to continue for six days.

The world wide web can be a pretty hectic place if you’re careless. Things like malware, ransomware, and phishing are part of our daily internet experience. As long as you know what they mean and how to protect yourself against them, you shouldn’t be affected. But one wrong step and hackers can walk away with some of your cash or access to your private data. Even if you’re Google or Facebook. And it turns out a hacker scammed these internet giants out of over $100 million.


Last month, the US Department of Justice indicted a Lithuanian man for “orchestrating a fraudulent business email compromise scheme that induced two U.S.-based internet companies,” CNET reports.


At the time, the DOJ did not reveal what these companies are, but Fortune discovered they’re none other than Google and Facebook.


You’d think that the employees of internet companies would be even better trained than regular people at spotting malicious attacks. But if the hackers sound convincing enough, they might still get away with the scam. At least initially.


Evaldas Rimasauskas, a 40-something man, came up with the scheme in 2013. He forged email addresses, invoices, and corporate stamps to impersonate a large Asian-based manufacturer that did business with these companies regularly.


Rimasauskas impersonated Quanta Computer, Fortune’s investigation revealed. Over two years, Rimasauskas convinced the accounting departments of both Facebook and Google to make transfers of over $100 million, which were then stashed in banks in Eastern Europe. The man says he didn’t do it.


It appears this type of heist is pretty common, but the operation targeting Google and Facebook stood out for its scale, a person familiar with the investigation started by the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. Apparently, Facebook approached law enforcement, looking to get its money back.


“Facebook recovered the bulk of the funds shortly after the incident and has been cooperating with law enforcement in its investigation,” Facebook confirmed to Fortune.


Google also confirmed the fraud. “We detected this fraud against our vendor management team and promptly alerted the authorities. We recouped the funds, and we’re pleased this matter is resolved,” a Google spokesperson said.


However, neither company disclosed the scam in any of the documentation they regularly file with the SECSEC

A bar operator on Lekki Beach Road, Ademola Ogunbona, says he has lost his livelihood to the alleged debt of N757,750 incurred by one Mrs. Shaw, aka Mama G.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the woman had gone to the bar around 6am on August 15, 2016, to have fun, which lasted till about 1am the following day.

It was said that Mama G instructed the barman to serve customers that came to the bar throughout her stay, and promised to pick up the bill for the drinks they consumed.


Punch gathered that one of the major beneficiaries of Mama G’s gesture was a man who came to the bar with his friends at about 6.30pm to celebrate his birthday.

She allegedly ordered many rounds of drinks for the man and his friends and told Ogunbona to add their bill to hers.

However, at about 1am, when she had reportedly become inebriated, some persons were said to have stormed the bar and took her away in a Honda car to Rotary Garden Estate, Ilasan, Ajah, where she lives with her husband.

In a chat with PUNCH Metro, Ogunbona said he, two of his workers and the chief security officer of the shops in the area followed the car, but the security guards at the estate gate did not allow them in.

He said,

“Mama G came to my bar at about 6am on August 15, 2016, and ordered drinks. She told me to serve everybody that came to the bar and promised to pay. In the afternoon, I told her that her bill was over N200,000. She slapped my face and asked me whether she looked like a debtor.
“She said I should serve very expensive drinks to whoever came to the bar. She even called some beggars who were passing by into the bar to drink. Around 6.30pm, a man came into the bar to mark his birthday along with his friends, numbering about 16, including ladies. She told them not to pay.
“They took five bottles of Remy Martin, seven bottles of Absolute Vodka and three bottles of Sky. They also smoke cigarettes. They left around 10pm. At about 1am, four men and a woman came to pick the woman. I insisted that I would collect my money, but they took her away.
“They dropped her off at the estate gate and left. She banged the gate repeatedly. Eventually, her housemaids came to pick her. I was not allowed to enter into the estate with her.”


The father of two children explained that he went to report the case at the Ajiwe Police Division and submitted the bill to the police. He said the police invited the woman, but her husband sent a message to them that she had gone to Ghana.


“He told the police that Mama G would come back in December 2016. The police sent another letter to the man in December. On January 11, he transferred N200,000 into my bank account.



“I called him and asked for the remaining money, he said I should contact his wife’s lawyer. When I called the lawyer, he said I should manage the money like that. I reported back to the station and they invited his wife again. Neither the woman nor her husband showed up. Their cook and driver were arrested. The lawyer secured their bail on the same day.



“Since the case was transferred to the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, in February 2017, the Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case has been telling me to be patient; but I have children and a wife to cater to,” he added.


The husband, Mr. Shaw, terminated a call put across to him immediately a Punch correspondent began to make an inquiry on the matter. Subsequent calls to his line rang out.

However, the lawyer, Mr. Onome Okodiya, who spoke on behalf of the family, said it was not true that Mama G promised to pay for the birthday celebration or was forcefully taken away from the bar.

He said the matter was being investigated by the state police command, adding that the N200,000 was paid to the bar manager “in good faith” pending the outcome of a reconciliatory move by the police.


Okodiya said, “We deny that Mrs. Shaw owed that kind of money. When the barman chose to use the police in Lekki to enforce the debt, we made a report to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and the case is being investigated. We are going to wait for the outcome of the investigation.
“The payment (N200,000) was made in good faith while awaiting reconciliation. There is a scam which we are trying to unravel. One person is claiming over N700,000; another person is claiming over N800,000. What is the value of the stock they have? Everybody is under investigation in respect of this matter.”


The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, had yet to reply to a text message on the case as of press time.

Donald Trump has said despite the missile strike on Syria,the US is ‘not going into Syria’.

The President said the war-torn nation would have been “a lot better off” if Obama had launched the same kind of missile strike earlier.


In an interview with Fox Business News broadcast this evening, he said:



“ We are not going into Syria, but when I see people using horrible, horrible chemical weapons, which they agreed not to use under the Obama administration, but they violated it.Look, what I did should have been done with the Obama administration long before I did it.

“I think Syria would be a lot better off than it has been.” This is in contrast to his tweets in 2013 in which he repeatedly used his Twitter account to warn Barack Obama against launching military strikes against Syria.
