PoliticsRe: Gej Delivers Satellite Launch To Monitor Floods by henryskywalker2003(m): 2:38am On Aug 25, 2011
Well, Benin republic never and is not planning to launch a satellite but the have a better economy than Nigeria . Ivory Coast never launched a satellite but the have faster, and cheaper internet access. Ghana never launched a satellite but their major export is cocoa. Don't know about you guys but it makes me wonder how our neighbouring countries can have all this without needing to launch a satellite. The answer is simple. They had their priorities straight. We igbos have an adage we says, a man doesn't chase rats while his house is on fire. When we have settled the more important issues on the ground first, then we can look up to the sky and launch a million satellites if we want.
@somze, am sorry to trouble ur learned mind but can you please be so kind to explain how we need a satellite to monitor our crops(not that we even farm as mush as before cos we import even rice). Is it that we actually need to sit and watch it as it grows or what?

@akoeja, abeg can you tell us how come US paid nigeria a huge amount of money for info obtained from our satellite when they have launched at least 225 of theirs. Check out the link below
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_USA_satellites

Note: some of these satellites are out of commission but even the number of active ones is still enough to cover 5 Hurricane Katrinas as against one failed one by yours truly. Besides, lots of private corporations in the US have their own personal satellites, so explain how US government would justify spending tax payers dollars to get info that hundreds can provide within the country. Then again, even if they did pay us the money and we have a functioning satellite all these while, how have we put it into use and of what benefit has it been to you? A social studies student in any primary school can tell you in his sleep what he stands to gain from good roads, good healthcare facilities, better economy, 24/7 power supply etc. But u prefer to have a satellite smilling down on you. When other countries will be proudly showing of their achievements you and other GEJ mouthpieces will be pointing to the sky and telling us you have a satellite in space.
And for the person that claims that satellite has a life expectancy of 3years, I think you need to get your facts right before you post next time. As you can see from the list that US has satellites that has been active since 1993.on satellites if we want.

PhonesRe: Is A Blackberry Better? by henryskywalker2003(m): 6:41pm On Aug 22, 2011
@Akainso, There is nothing worse than a person that has little knowledge or information about things. You claim to be knowledgeable in phones and have been dropping technical terms up and down this post ever since without pausing to verify the authenticity of your sources.

Email integration: While the others would poll your mails, BLackberry would push it to your phone. This means your mails would arrive on your phone faster on the BB than any other phone. Also, due to its push and use of NOC the total cost of delivering mails to you are cheaper.
I think I have been enjoying this feature without knowing it ever since I had a Nokia N70 (Nokia Messaging Email, Lotus Traveller Mail, Nokia mail for Exchange), whats more google, yahoo and a lot of other email providers have apps on symbian, ios, and android platforms that basically do the same. And I can tell you that, I receive it just as fast as you would if it was on a bb. And just so you should know, there are other great, if not better push email providers out there like Seven and Emoze.

Document handling: Almost all smartphones can enable you view documents, with some rudimentary edits, only the Blackberry brings the full office experience to you. This means almost all the Excel functions are available for you on your phone plus it allows you to create presentation slides.
I wonder what you have to say about quickoffice that comes pre-installed on Nokia E series (have it on my E71). It even have support for docx, xlsx, pptx almost the same time microsoft released those formats and I don't need to pay an arm and leg to get it.

Instant Messaging: The Blackberry Messenger is the de-facto IM standard that all the other smartphone makers are trying to recreate. It enables you to share, socialise and have instant communication with fellow BB users. Note however that except on the iphone, there exist cross-platform apps that would allow you to communicate with others just like the BBM but like I said they are all trying to emulate the BBM.
Can you take a moment and listen to yourself. When did blackberry start making IMs? 1999. And what feature does the bbm have that other IMs don't? None. What feature do other IMs have that BBM don't have? Voice chat aka voip and video chat (Skype and nimbuzz comes to mind) Now what would I stand to gain from an IM that can only communicate with bb users only when I have the rest of the world to chat with on other messengers? As for sending files and all. I can send large files on ebuddy, nimbuzz, skype, etc.

Internet: All smartphones allow you to browse the internet. The beef here is all about which is faster, but truly the difference in speed are in seconds rather than minutes. However you might want to know that the Blackberry browser is till the most secure as it implements the full https spectrum, which is why for now, its still the only platform.supporting the Verisign secure payment standard.
shocked You are joking right? Seriously? lipsrsealed Blackberry having the fastest mobile browser, Puullleeeezzze. And what happened to safari on iphone? I am not a fan of the iphone but you've got to hand it to it that it is by far the best and fastest out there. And the stuff you said about verisign secure payment is a biggest load of crap I've ever seen. I dare you to pick up any phone that has a browser, even going as far back as 2004, checkout the phones certificates and see if you find any that is SSl signed. That is owned by Verisign and has been on almost all phones I've ever come in contact with. Please show me prove by going to a site that accepts the verisign secure payment and make a purchase and try doing the same with ANY other phone and let me know your result.

Build: When it comes to build quality the Blackberry phones are definitely rugged and with polish. They are in my opinion followed by the Nokia E-series phones in quality. The Samsung and HTC  are generally of lower quality but right now, HTC is rebuilding its brand and this is reflecting in the quality of its newer models. You can also count on the build quality of the iPhone. You might want to know that that Blackberry is however the only maker to make so called smartphones for the.lower class, hitherto smartphones are seen as 'bigger boys' toys but Blackberry still makes some affordable ones at lower cost but with all the smartphone functionalities.
HAHAHAHA. Seriously you must be a real fanboi of bb. Do you know about the isssues that storm 9530 aka storm1 went thru? Or the wack battery life of almost all of the bb range of phones. The worst part is that the phones are so highly susceptible to moisture that even the makes are advising not to use it in places that have high humidity rates (moist air), cos it messes it up. Even inside the battery compartment is an indicator that warns you about moisture, look for a small square white sticker on the phone. Usually it is located underneath the battery, near the SIM card. Some have multiple water damage stickers, and you should check in the upper right hand corner beneath the battery door, and near the media card as well. If they are all white, your phone is in the clear. If it has been exposed to moisture, it will turn pink or red, depending on the severity of the damage. The battery also has an indicator. It is a rectangular white sticker that will turn pink or red. And God forbids that it ever does get wet, you have to disassemble it and dry for at least 2-5 days depending on the severity of the damage. My nokia N70 has fallen into a bucket of water twice and I dried it for just 2days and had no other issues till date. Try that on a bb. The same nokia has fallen from a story building and other high rise areas a couple of times with no screen damage. Try that with any random bb.

When you are building a house, you don't build the roof first before laying the foundation. In the same vein, you don't run after the uncommon sense when you don't have any bit of the common one.
BusinessRe: Listening To Sanusi, I Am Proud To Be A Nigerian! by henryskywalker2003(m): 3:40am On Jul 29, 2011
@all4naija, since when does one need to travel out of nigeria to get an iota of common sense? What has leaving the shores of nigeria has to do with the issues here?
BusinessRe: Listening To Sanusi, I Am Proud To Be A Nigerian! by henryskywalker2003(m): 3:34am On Jul 29, 2011
@Enyojo, I'm really quite impressed with you. I am really having a hard time believing that you are a nigerian lady. We need more ladies like you. Ladies that don't watch only BBA and fashion tv but actually take time to know and analyse whats going on around them. Keep it up.

I noticed recently that nairaland seems not to have moderators anymore. Everyone comes up, opens their mouth and spills out all the toxic waste in it. Let me say this first. I am from Anambra State and a christian (pentecostal), and if Sanusi should ever vie for the presidency, I'll fully support and campaign for him free of charge. He has shown himself to be first a Nigerian, before being a Northerner. Everyone is shooting down the Islamic Banking thing but not one of you had taken the time to do a research on it. I'm quite sure that your grouse is with the name and if Sanusi should change it to say Non-Interest Banking, none of you would have any issues with it. You all claim its a bad idea but no one has given a detailed presentation (@least like half the way he did to the senate) to show us why it is a bad idea. None of you are economists but you can argue economics with a prof of economics. Anambra State is yet to prove Sanusi a liathave any issues with it. @mr okan. I'm still here, just patiently waiting for one of your ''OVER 30' customers to testify as to the quality of your product either way. Its almost a month since my last post and yet no one has spoken up. Hope say I never spoil market for you o. Anyways, next time just market your goods as they are and am sure ppl will still buy it, if you doubt me ask anybody that sells chinco phones and they will tell you that the market moves fast.

P.S. When I said research, I meant getting your facts right not academic research, but I guess you are too slow on the uptake to grasp it.
ComputersRe: Use Your Wi-fi Mobile Phone As A Wireless Router. by henryskywalker2003(m): 5:04pm On Jun 29, 2011
I don't think I need to call for such a simple piece of info that you could have dropped here for everyone. The name of the app is Joikuspot. It has both free and premium versions. The free allows access to fewer clients to connect and doesn't encrypt or secure the network with wpa/wep key but these features are in the premium version.

thank u for catching a crook and for your correction i guess i must be sleepy when i replied the question about the speed i and i mentioned the data transfer rate but if u want the Spin Speed (RPM) it is 7200 RPM or just go to http:// www.seagate.com/www/en-au/ products/external/expansion/ expansion_desktop/ #tTabContentSpecifications and sure u get whatever u need. as par the price i have a question for u and it goes like this the price of MTN sim card is just 150 naira presently and there was a time it was sold for over 20000 naira does it make the one of 150 naira fake and the one of twenty thousand naira original, pls post your answer as soon as possible MR CROOK CATCHER, thanks .

@mr. Okan1. Your analogy of sim card shows how very limited your brain functions. When sim cards were 20k, EVERYBODY was selling it at that price, and same thing now its 150naira. Now you claim that you made a mistake that you wrote the transfer speed instead of the spin rates. I'll give you points for doing research on spin rates but I'll also subtract the same points for doing an incomplete research. How can you claim your hard disk has transfer speeds of 6gbps when the current usb 2.0 implementations have a maximum speed of 480mbps transfer rate while usb 3.0 (yet to be shipped with systems) have a top speed of 4.8gbps. Abeg, abi na for a different type of usb port you plug that your hard disk to achieve such speeds? Just tell guys say na chinco you dey sell, @least they go know say na buyer beware not telling them that it is original. Someone have asked you how you make your profit cos you are selling way below what the company that made the hard disk you claim to be selling, and you are yet to give a reasonable answer to that. Mr. Crook. Next time, do your research well.
Computer MarketRe: 500gb External Hard Drive @ 6k by henryskywalker2003(m): 5:15pm On May 26, 2011
as for the speed it 6Gbps any other info you need just go their respective website and you will get all the info you need.
This is how we get to catch the crooks that try to sell us fake goods. Someone asked you for the speed of the drive and you don't even know the right answer to the question. Anyways, buyers beware. Don't try to be a cheapskate. A 500GB hard disk goes for between 11-12k in Computer Village. Its better to spend that money and get one there knowing fully well that its an original and under warranty than spending 6k on a hard disk that would fail on the day you need it most and take your precious 500GB worth of files with it.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 12:20am On May 20, 2011
@Kandikane, if you still want to try to disinfect your pc further after trying the malwarebytes, get your hands on a linux cd like say ubuntu, insert it into your pc and restart it. Boot from cd/dvd by changing the boot order to it from the bios. When it boots to the desktop, open the software manager (ubuntu software center its found on the application list located at the top panel), make sure you're online and search within the software manager for clamwin antivirus. When you find it, click on the install button next to it and it will be automatically downloaded and installed. When its thru, open it and update it, then go to places on the top panel and click on the icon with the name/size of your hard disk (if you have multiple partitions and hard disk there will be multiple icons there corresponding to each of them), you can close the new windows that open when you clicked on them and then proceed to use the antivirus to scan them.

Hi House,
my laptop started showing the message "this copy of windows is not genuine" each time i power it, pls how do i rectify this. Tanx
@febbymi, as much as I would like to advise you to purchase an original copy of windows, I wouldn't. Cos I know that it doesn't come cheap and you would rather use that money for something else. What I would suggest though, is that you should give alternatives to windows os a try. That is Linux, I can recommend that you try some newbie friendly ones like Linux Mint, Ubuntu, PClinxOS etc. It has a lot of advantages over windows BUT you have to be willing to learn a new thing cos its not windows so u should expect a lo of differences. Besides, you can actually run both windows and linux side by side on the same system until you get used to the new one before totally discarding windows. If you are interested, I'd be happy to help you out on that, and if you are in lagos, I can install it for you and help you along with the learning process. Here is my number if you want to get in touch .

ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 11:55am On Mar 23, 2011
@ReachRich, When did the problem start? Was there any power surge of sorts that occurred at your place lately? Are you using the right charger with the correct specifications for it? Try charging your laptop with another charger with exactly the same ratings as the original to rule out the charger being faulty. If another charger gives you the same problem and if your own charger works perfectly on another system like yours, then it could be a faulty battery. If you replaced your charger recently, did you check to see if the VOLTAGE and AMP ratings on the new one are EXACTLY the same as on the old one. I have seen a lot of people getting new chargers based only on the voltage ratings, this in turn kills the battery after some usages with the charger or might not even charge properly. Then again, it is possible that the battery is just faulty and its simply time you replaced it.

they wont even fix or replace whatever they tell you its all talk to milk you more money since you dont know much about computer

its like taking a car to garage when the central locking is not working then you are told that it needs an new ECU and he going to change the actuators when it only needs a fuse replaced from engine bay
@Zimdrill, now thats very funny, lol.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 5:01pm On Mar 18, 2011
one tip

since we suspect that the boot sector is corrupt dont tell the technician to find the fault s/he will tell crap inorder to milk you more

just tell him/her that you pc is falling to boot and does s/he have a booting CD/DVD for your OS -- if s/he has it all s/he will do is change the boot sequence and insert the CD/DVD and restart it, it should solve your problem
@Zimdrill, you are quite right about that. Many atimes these so called engineers will try to replace/fix stuffs that are not even broken in the 1st place.
