FamilyRe: She Wants A Maid I Don't Like by henryskywalker2003(m): 12:10am On Dec 23, 2010
Hmmm. Everybody seems to be after the poster for not being able to restrain himself but like a popular saying goes, body no be wood. I'd like to introduce a new perspective to the topic. One person asked why the wife hasn't started looking for another house maid after 3 days and no one picked on it. I won't be suprised if the wife is actually bisexual and might have something already going on with the house maid. @poster, am not saying that your wife is but given the fact that 90-95% of nigerian ladies both married and single are into girls, I wouldn't be suprised thats why she's angry for 3 days. I'm sure if she wanted a housemaid that bad, getting another to replace the rejected one wouldn't be too difficult. Anyways, thats just my 2cents, feel free to burn me.

@nearest, I know am asking you to repeat yourself but did you forget your windows password or bios password? Windows password comes up after the welcome screen while bios password comes up immediately you put on the system. Which one is it?

@ITBOMB, Ten thousand gbosa for you. If only more nigerian youths are like you, this country would be far better. Same goes to all that have made similar comments like you did on this topic.

@goldcircle, you just can't help living up to your name, can you? Just like gold circle is regarded as the worst brand of condoms, must you become one of the worst type of youths in nigeria. We all envy and wish we could be like the advanced countries but no one would want to work towards that dream. It starts with you and me making small changes in our immediate environment. If you're waiting for the day God will abolish corruption in nigeria, you dey on a long thing.

ComputersRe: Mse: This Virus Pops Up Everytime I Reboot by henryskywalker2003(m):
@joan, Try updating your antivirus software then perform a full system scan. If the problem persists, try downloading and installing another antivirus, (I recommend avast or avira). Update it and perform a full system scan. (Note: uninstall the antivirus you have before installing another else they would conflict wit each other). If it still doesn't remove it give me a call. .
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 6:55pm On Oct 10, 2010
@totty j. It seems that after it was formatted, you didn't install the vga driver. Head over to the laptop's manufacturer's site and download it from the support and drivers page. Pick the one specific to your laptop.

@azeezengr, I wouldn't advise to do that cos Win7 is kinda better than the previous ones but if u still want to do that, I'll suggest you go with vista sp2 or xp sp2. You need to obtain an installation cd and wipe the partition of Win7 and replace it wit the vista or xp. Do not wipe the recovery partition in case you change your mind later. Hope this helps.

@saylawchar, its wise to leave on unless you used a pirated cd to install your copy in which case it might get blocked by windows genuine advantage software update that checks for piracy. You won't get viruses from it.

(1) Pls my pc refuse to booth(come up) despite powerlight being on. When i press the power button to put it on, the powerlight would show, u can also feel the processor working But the system wont booth(come up). Meanwhile when its pluged to light it charges normal but still wont come up. (2) My harddisk memory is 250gig so the system splitted it into two; Disk c: (acer) having 110gig. And manliness D: (Data) having 110gig. Now the disk csadacer) memory is filled. How do i switch to disk D: (Data) which is still empty because whenever i want to save something the system would say no space or memory not enough. Meanwhile i still have 110gig in disk D: (data).
@benqozenero, I guess u re the one that called me in the morning. have u tried plugging in a monitor to your laptop to be sure it is not ur screen that is having an issue. try that and let me know the outcome.

@henryskywalker2003
i use a HP 2140 notebook,i get to install only games like Zuma and the likes(small games that is),games like Hitman,Kill Switch dont get to install(only get error messages),i dont know if its a general thing(HP notebook-wise) or its peculiar to me
@kindability, before u install a game, check if ur hardware meets up with the recommended specs, else in worse case scenarios, it wont install. let me know ur system configuration and also show a screenshot of the error message. I checked out ur laptop and saw that its a netbook. netbooks usually come with intel atom processor and its not meant for any heavy work like games and mulitimedia editing. its probably why u get the error messages, but then i could be wrong. let me know ur system specs.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 1:23am On Oct 08, 2010
@centjay. It is very possible to retrieve ur files, and even remove ur password. Get a linux live cd eg ubuntu. Put it into ur cd drive and boot from it. When u get to the desktop, go to the top panel and click on places. It will display among other things, your hard disk. Click on it to mount and open it. Copy out your files to flash drive and reboot. If you get into any problem give me a call and I'll walk u thru. As for the battery problem, am not so good with fixing hardware but my best guess would be that the components that convey power to the system from the battery is damaged. See a good technician for that.

@ceasyc , nero is not a free product but u can get the trial edition from their website www(dot)nero(dot)com. its a heavy software so i hope ur system is up to the task. if its only burning u need it for then i suggest u go for the free softies like ashampoo burning software free edition or imgburn. they will do the job wella.

@ebiye55, try to remove any external devices and remove cd plates from the rom while u use it. it helps too.

ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 12:19am On Sep 18, 2010
@jeco, for your system to be showing that kind of message, its most likely that some components in your C:\Windows folder has been fouled up by a virus. I suggest you just reformat or if you can, use a windows cd and do a repair on it.

@missylizzy, you said you formatted your system with a fake vista and now it shuts down intermittently need after which you formatted again and its now saying the windows is not genuine. Then again you said all your files are gone and you want to restore to the normal default windows. I mistakenly assumed a lot so let me ask you some questions 1st.
At what point did you lose your files, is it after the 1st or 2nd format?
What was the default windows on it?
Is windows blocking you from accessing your files or they are completely wiped off when you formatted?
Give me answers to these questions so as to know what is the nature of the problem. I called you up the other day asking you about this problem but you were acting like I was being a bother. If you can, give me a call on mtn xtracool and I'll walk you thru it.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m): 7:57pm On Sep 05, 2010
@fingard02k, the name of the antivirus is clamav not clamwin. My mistake.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by henryskywalker2003(m):
@missylizzy. You formatted without using a good crack to remove windows activation. If you need to get your files back, it depends on if you have totally wiped it from your hard disk or vista is just not booting for you to copy them out. If its the 1st scenario, u need a hard drive recovery software like ZAR and co, (note, they are not 100% guaranteed to recover your files). If its the 2nd scenario, then get any linux live cd eg ubuntu, boot from it, when you get to the desktop, click on places on the top panel and click on your hard disk. This will mount it and enable you to access it. Use a flash or external drive to copy out your files then reboot and format it afresh wit a good windows cd (that is, if you haven't accidentally wiped your laptop's recovery partition). Xp or windows 7, make sure you use a good crack to bypass the activation after which you can copy back your files. If you meet any problem call or email me

@mojir, your system is infected with virus. Use a good anti-virus like avast or avira to clean it. Worse case scenario, format it and try to avoid using explorer for your browsing needs. Use either Firefox, Opera or Chrome.

@fingard02k, simply reformat your system. Trust me thats the fastest way to fix it. I'm guessing its a virus problem too. If you really want to fix it. Use a linux live cd like ubuntu, run it and make sure you are online. Install an antivirus called clamwin and use it to scan your windows partition. If it doesn't solve it after this, then you best format it.

@poster don't think any of our networks have gotten round to offering that speed yet.
@oga, that speed is not only possible but also very small, I know for sure that you can get speeds of up to 5mb/s in that United States that you mentioned, heck even some networks in South Africa can give you up to 1mb/s. Don't let the fact that this country is still in the dark ages keep you in the dark my bro.
ComputersRe: How To Install Redhat Linux On Windows Using Vmware by henryskywalker2003(m): 11:15pm On Jul 05, 2010
@chris, the vmware you need is vmware workstation but virtualbox can provide the same functionality. I suggest you rather not waste your money buying redhat from the market, cos apart from the fake edition number (i think they sell 9 point something) the edition you're buying is usually a very old one. There current edition is 6 beta (don't know if the stable is out now). I suggest you order not buy an ubuntu cd from their website and it will delivered to your doorstep totally free of charge. The latest edition is 10.04 lucid lynx.
Science/TechnologyRe: 42-year Old Panel Beater Redesigns Vw Beetle by henryskywalker2003(m): 3:05pm On Jun 27, 2010
The guy did a wonderful job for a mere panel beater. He should be encouraged. For those bad belle ppl wey dey diss the guy, this is what I have to say to you.
1. Did you even read the post at all? Cos if you did, you would have noticed that the guy said he took the base design from VW meaning that most of the elements of the car is from a VW and he said specifically the bug.
2. The car you guys were comparing to his car is not a bug rather a rolls royce (the rolls insignia is in front). A two door at that but the guy modified his to become a four door. B4 you argue this, let me say that for a time VW bought Rolls (at least the automobile division not the airplane division and yes Rolls make engines for planes), don't know the current owners of Rolls right now.
3. Given the fact that the guy already told you he redesigned the bug, why are you so after him instead of giving him credit. I remember on ESPN, there used to be a program where ppl redesign cars from scrap and love-vendor it out and enter it in a competition. I remember seeing a redesigned ferarri that had the body of a benz and a bmw. Now thats creativity over there and this panel-beater does exactly the same thing and you all are shooting off your mouths like you could even solder two things together let alone build something out of scrap. Had it been a foreigner on a foreign tv, you would be praising the guy to high heaven.
Please learn to appreciate the little things you see around you because big things ALWAYS start small.
Eg the owners of HP started in a garage, are they still there now? @ajadudu and cne010 take a good look at the two cars before you start talkin rubbish. The guy even had to change the engine, modify the gear, pedals and brakes due to the new length and weight of the car. He didn't just FIX a car, he MODIFIED it. Am sure that your brains can tell the difference between those two words unless you really have a collective IQ of 2?
@flyuche, I'd like to see you design something that is in line with your course of study or work. If you're an IT guy, can you please design and produce from scratch a supercomputer that is better than the current fastest without using any technology that is available now. Since you say that the car henry ford made was better than this.

ComputersRe: Xp And Vista, Which One Is Better? by henryskywalker2003(m): 9:09pm On Jun 19, 2009
To say that either of the two is better than the other depends on which perspective you are looking at it from. If you are into aesthetics and want it out of the box, definitely Vista will be the favorite, especially when u have the hardware for it. But if u prefer performance and functionality over anything else, XP is the right OS for you.

Both of them has some advantages over each other like XP having a stronger core and more programs running comfortable on it than on Vista (Vista lovers should take note of these, some programs tend to take down the aero glass interface of Vista or entirely crash upon startup) plus XP upon initial release was able to run at least 85% of existing softwares on Windows ME and 2000, quite unlike Vista which upon its service pack 2 release still has a lot of bugs. Vista on the other hand has some advantages over XP like more support for hardware drivers out of the box that is in most cases 90% of ur hardware works, (XP lovers try installing XP on Dell systems without a Dell recovery CD).

But all that not withstanding, from my humble point of view, Microsoft's best OS is definitely XP till date. Some say Vista is sophisticated, but I say how sophisticated can an OS be when it cant work with softwares from previous editions. So my vote goes to XP cos for me whenever I wanna do some serious work or test run some stuff, XP is usually my OS of choice. Vista even has problems with anti-virus softwares like Avast and some others, asking for administrative privileges all the time. An OS that asks for administrative privileges all the time even when logged in as an Admin is very unproductive and to make it worse it doesn't learn like XP does (XP can remember your last choice on privileges for running a program) neither can u turn off the notifications.

In all, XP is the one for me when I feel like running windows and when I need the aesthetics I can always run programs like WIndow Blinds and as for the hardware support, I always keep a copy of my systems drivers cd handy in case i feel like re-formatting.

@ sojioguns, I may have no personal experience with such and I pray that I never have, but that doens't mean that it doesn't happen. i mean just take a look around u and u will know. Check out some testimonies people give in various churches about entering a bus or taxi only for them to balck out and see themselves in another place waiting to be slaughtered. If you think that such things will only work on you if you believe in it then think again cos its written in the bible that my people perish for lack of knowledge. The era of wht u don't know doesn't kill u has gone with the wind.
Car TalkRe: Helmet In Lagos: He Disappeared! by henryskywalker2003(m): 3:39pm On Jan 11, 2009
The thing about us Nigerians i that we never like to face realities even if it is sitting on our noses. The incident the poster narated is nothing new and it has happened many a time in different states of the federation. You guys are quick to forget that no matter how much we try to copy the white man's culture, there are things that are inherent to us. You guys are quick to forget all the strange incidents that characterised 1990's examples, The Cliford Orji Saga in Lagos, Otokoto Saga in Imo, Okija Shrine Saga in Anambra to mention but a few. Do not discredit such stories just cos u haven't seen one (I for one have witnessed the burning of a suspected ritualist in Aba in Abia state), check the number of people turning up missing and tell me if all those people simply lost their way.

On a last note any Nigerian claiming that he or she doesn't believe such things are happening is kidding themselves cos if u can believe in God/Allah as being Good then there must be an opposite which is the Devil and if God has His servants in the persons of Priests, Imams, Pastors etc, then the Devil wouldn't be far behind with his cohorts. So my brothers and sisters shine ur eyes and stop pretending cos u are decieving urselfs.

I had a compaq presario r3000 for a few years, and it was horrible
@blackspade, I checked out the compaq presario r3000 (this is the link http://reviews.digitaltrends.com/review/1769-4/compaq-presario-r3000-review-specs ) and from wht I saw I'll say its a medium end laptop and you said you used it for a few years. Why are u comparing it with not just with a high end laptop but also a newer model. That is kinda biased if you ask me. Try comparing your sony with a newer high end model from hp compaq like HP HDX 18t and see how your sony vaio will fare against it.
ComputersRe: Sony Makes The Best Laptops by henryskywalker2003(m): 2:06pm On Jan 07, 2009
Yes, very sure.

A few months ago I purchased an HP Pavillion laptop (after I had a horrible Compaq Presario), and within the first month the hard drive crashed on me, and the keyboards were also terrible (stuck easily).

Compaq was an entirely different experience. Hands down the worst computer manufacturers. HP bought them, so I guess cheap assembly is now a common practice. . .
@blackspade you didn't tell us the model of the compaq presario and HP Pavillion you were using so that we may know on what basis you are making ur comparision. I have noticed that a lot of people that replied to this topic usually compare a high end model with a low end model thereby making the wrong assumptions.
