BedLam: So, because they are given free midnight browsing, you expect users to stay away from 1am to 6am just because we want to browse? Some of us that use the night plans use it cos we have internet at the office and come back home from between 6pm to 9pm which is when the night plan usually starts and enables us to do one or two things before bed. I don't see any right minded person that will want to stay awake at such hours just to browse. Case in point, with the low tariffs we have today in call rates, how many people still do MTN midnight calls today? 10 Likes |

abatically: Dude, I don't get why u feel u have to tell blatant lies here. Or maybe u work for them. What the hell do you mean by "they only reviewed the plans and not actually increased it"? Seems like you actually missed basic elementary maths class. Kindly explain to me how it wasn't increased when 20gb for 24x7 that used to go f or 7k now goes for 10, 25gb, 40gb, 50gb, 70gb, and 120gb used to go for 8k, 12k, 14.5k, 19.5k and 45k respectively now goes for 12k, 18k, 20k, 28k, and 48k respectively. Truly, not all of them were increased by 100% but the night plans are. Night plans of 20gb and 40gb that used to go for 4k, now goes for 7.5k and 8k respectively. 50gb night used to be 5k but now 10k. Even the extra 10gb been given now is a mere promo that will end in June. It's just there to deceive the customers into thinking that they are getting value for their money, cos once the promo ends in June, the price remains the same but the extra 10gb will be gone. So, effectively, you are now paying for less. And yet, you made your silly comment of they not increasing the cost. This is why Nigeria can not move forward when people like you will see black and call it white. 15 Likes 1 Share

Starting today, 15th March 2015, Spectranet has phased away its old plans and tariffs and introduced new ones that are outrageously expensive. Plans are now cost double the amount it used to cost in the old tariff/plans. Below is a screenshot of the new tariff and plans. NCC where art thou? 2 Likes 1 Share

Dear STMD/Nduka, I paid for my items in your warehouse thru paypal and the money has been already deducted and paypal sent me a receipt but this morning, I got a mail from you informing me that my free 21 days has just 3 days left. I logged back in and saw that the items that I paid for them to be shipped are still showing in the warehouse. Logged into my Paypal and saw that the payment I made is yet to be claimed. Kindly look into this please. Henry Unit NG17341 |

Dear STMD/Nduka, There is a reason many of us prefer to register our complaints on social media instead of through emails like you keep asking us to. It is because the replies we usually get via emails can make one very pissed off. I complained here about my items in your warehouse that the dimensions were way off and I also sent an email as regards that. The only positive thing that came out of the email was that you seem to have improved in the response time, but apparently still yet to improve in customer service. What the hell am I going to do with that silly reply that I got? Did I tell u guys that I never knew of the re-weigh option that you keep suggesting to people to pay for an obvious error on your part? Are your scales and measures the only accurate ones while Fedex and USPS have inaccurate ones? According to Fedex, my items have dimensions 8x8x8 inches and weights of 1lbs, 1.6lbs and 1.4lbs. Yet, upon arrival at your warehouse, they suddenly measure 13.00x12.00x3.00 inches, 10.00x10.00x3.00 inches and 11.00x11.00x2.50 inches. How you arrived at such a calculation beats the hell out of me. I know I have said it before, but I really I'm fed up and have given up hope on you guys. I will simply take my business elsewhere. Cos I am starting to think you guys are purposely hiking the figures to make it look big so that for those of us paying thru paypal, it will seem as if you are indeed giving us a discount, whereas you are not. Keep up the good work with the underhanded practices. It will come back and bite you one day. For the record, I will at 1 Like |

Dear Nduka/STMD, Still on your weighing and dimension issue. I recently received some items at the US warehouse and their weights and dimensions were way off. According to FEDEX, they should weigh 1 lbs and 1.4 lbs with dimensions of 8x8x8inches. But after you received them, you quoted and charged me with the following weights of 13.00x12.00x3.00 inches and 11.00x11.00x2.50 inches and a chargeable weight of 5.55lbs. Please, kindly fix this issue soon and please try not to make the same mistake on the last item coming in. Regards. 1 Like |

@OP, so because the base station in your area is down for the period of the promo, you want them to stop the promo on the 3 states being serviced by them, right? This is similar to telling MTN, GLO, etc to stop selling recharge cards because the network was down in your area and you couldn't load the card you bought. It's people like you that go round calling genuine business a bad name just to try and make them compensate you for no reason. The promo in question was that you get double data if you renew your plan in December. And like you said, you normally pay 7k to get 20GB and now since you paid during the promo, you are expected to get 40GB. Nowhere in your long post did I see you complain that you never got the 40GB. Instead, your grouse was that there was service outage, and not that they didn't keep to their promo terms. And now here you are, calling them a scam just because you suffered 2 days outage out of the 30 days. Even abroad, networks do suffer from service outages. Yes, even in America. Some areas have only 2G and no 3G not to talk of LTE. I would have been more sympathetic if you were reasonable a bit to complain the service outage and not about the promo. I myself use Spectranet and I can tell you that compared to Swift which I moved from, they have very little down time. Until today, I still get apology texts and emails from Swift about down times and whenever I see it, I just shake my head. Spectranet isn't the best by any standard but they do a fine job at providing good service at a cheap cost. Please, if you aren't ok with Spectranet try and move to Smile which today is one of the fastest and also the most expensive of them. Don't come here and post rubbish calling a network scam cos of 2 days downtime |

OP, I can't believe that you are a graduate, went thru TTC Mobile, have a CCNA, skilled in transmission Engineering and fiber optics and yet you choose to leave all that and try your hands at yahoo. I think the people that called you lazy and not being creative are probably not far from the truth. And if I might add my own stylish insult to it, I think you are one of those that have the get money quick syndrome and have been brain-washed by the media and entertainment industry. You lust after the perceived glamour and fame that you see on TV but you aren't willing to dedicate time and effort to get your hands dirty and build yourself your own empire. I don't think your problem is that there is no job for you. Rather, I think you have a very high expectation of what your salary should be before you take up any job. I think you are waiting for a six figure salary to fall on your lap, and since it hasn't, you got frustrated and decided to try your hands on Yahoo. Someone said some rubbish here about all hustle being hustle, if that's the case, I will advise you to take up highway robbery, kidnapping and even donate some members of your family for some money-making rituals. After all, all na hustle. I suggest you take the advice from the Bible that says we should never forget the days of humble beginnings and start doing something with your life before you end up throwing it away. I for one, don't subscribe to the idea that because there are loads of unemployed first class degree graduates out there, that it is ok for me to be unemployed. No sir. We don't share the same destiny nor paths thru life. We all have our dark nights and bright days. How we react to them is what makes us who we end up being. Before you go into that Yahoo, let me tell you a bit about myself. I was in a university spent 4years and 2 extra years trying to graduate and in the end still didn't. I dropped out and spent 6 years trying to get back into school again without success. While waiting, I did the Basic Networking course at TTC Mobile thru one of their scholarships. I paid 5k for it and it was even borrowed. I couldn't even afford to write the CCNA then. After that, I got a part-time job that paid me 5k per week and when the job came to it's end, I started working in a cyber-cafe. I worked in 3 different cyber-cafes in that space of time. But while there, I made good use of the free internet at my disposal to download books and videos to build up on the little I got from TTC mobile. I gained a lot skill thru that and it helped me get job in an IT firm just after I got admitted into a polytechnic to study computer science part-time. While there, I started earning 30k. I worked there till the end of my OND and after that, I tried to re-negotiate my salary with them and they offered me double of my salary, but I turned it down and . I was jobless for 4 months and all those time, I never stopped developing myself nor stopped sending out my CVs. I got called for interviews and tests, and after 4 months like I said before, I got a job with a Indian owned multinational company. I was offered the same amount that I rejected at my previous workplace but this came with some few added bonus and plus the fact that it is a multinational, I took the job. I managed the place for a while, I say manage cos anyone working in an Indian firm knows the way they do things there. While there, with my OND, I was earning more than some of my colleagues that had HND and BSC. All because of my skills and previous experiences. I managed my job for 3 months and after that, I was invited to join one of the biggest multinationals in the world today. I immediately left. And today, I am in a place where many with BSC and Masters are fighting to get to all because of the fact that God helped me and I helped myself by developing myself and seizing the tiny opportunities that came my way. So, it's up to you to choose the path you want. You mentioned you do web design, my roomy in school was like u too. Searched for a job to no avail, then he started creating web sites for clients. It was here in nairaland that he was always coming and looking for clients. Before you know it, he expanded his skills from web development to app development. Now he has his own small company and doing well for himself and has his own staff. It took him years of dedication to get there. So, if you like, be creative. Use the skills you have to get where you want to go. Nothing stops you from picking up small jobs and earn little change from it. For instance, you could be building websites for clients, setting up the network for new offices or cyber-cafes, repairing computers and other devices for corporate organizations. It all depends on how u package and market yourself buddy. Get a business name, create some business cards. Go to some corporate firms around you and market your services to them. You will get a lot of doors shut in your face but with dedication and putting God ahead of you, you will break ground. Or, on the other hand, you can learn the yahoo thing, and make quick money that comes and goes just as quickly and after that, come back and read this thread in few years and tell us how much better your life became. Cheers. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

jayfierce: Bro... You don't have to be surprised at that. If they can call me and ask me to withdraw my negative comments here without even bothering to work towards solving the issues I raised, I won't be surprised that they will turn around and call us various names indirectly and directly. A good company that sees it's customers as king doesn't need to beg for positive reviews. Simply address the concerns raised in the negative reviews and see how quickly those same reviews get edited to become positives. But I see STMD has chosen to tow the path of insinuating that the reviews were from non-customers to out-rightly insulting them. Keep it up STMD 3 Likes |

Dear Nduka, I've been reading some recent comments here and indeed, it saddens me. A lot of issues are being raised here that needs to address. Most of them are issues that I have personally called to your attention in the past, urging you to fix it before it escalates. It seems my advice wasn't taken because those issues now seem to be a daily occurrence. I am not one that wants to see your downfall, rather I for one want you to rise up higher. Why? Because, it favours me if you improve and rise higher tomorrow. It means I can easily shop abroad and enjoy the same goods and services some people who are privileged to travel abroad enjoy without leaving the country. I think it is time you sit down and take a critical look at your business today and compare it with how it was some years back when I first started using your service. Granted, you have made some improvements in your services, but at the same time, some areas that were working perfectly are now broken. I think it will be wise to ask if those improvements are actually worth it? The last time I wrote you on these issues, I got the feeling that you don't really recognize them as an issue. I may be having the wrong assumptions and I actually do hope that I am indeed wrong on this. I believe the major issue users are having here are the measurements and how you do your billing. Just like someone pointed out, your automatic system doesn't take cognizance of the fact that it should bill the customer based on the measurement of the box being used to ship the consolidated items (whether they are in their original boxes or stripped). That is what goes into the ship/plane and that is what occupies space therein. Also, you should note that the dimensions of the box being used to ship isn't always a sum of the dimensions of all the items it contains. So, your software automatically calculating the dimensions of the box based on the sum of the dimensions of the individual items and subsequent billing thereof is something that will always result in much higher billing than normal. I use my last issue as a case in point where I had some series of inaccurate measurements and subsequent billings. Also, it seems like your staff no longer constitutes of the same caliber and mettle as it used to be. A company is only as good as its employees representing it. The staff you have today leaves a lot to be desired. And by staff, I mean both Nigerian and US offices. There are a lot of things they have been doing that highlight the fact that they are either incompetent or that you encourage them to do such acts. I appeal to you that you also take a closer look to your staff. Train and retrain them because they are the face of your company. I hope that this year will be the end of all these negative reports coming from your company with the New Year launching a new you. Warm regards. Henry. 3 Likes 1 Share |
