On this thread are three different arguments shocked shocked

Thierry Henry vs Didier Drogba

Michael Owen vs Wayne Rooney

Eden Hazard vs Memphis Depay

A poll should be created for this cos the argument would never stop.
No argument there, Eden is clearly better than him. Only those that lack football knowledge think otherwise.

Chelsea are 'warehousing' loan players - PFA chief Gordon Taylor

Chelsea's use of the loan market has been criticised by Professional Footballers' Association chief Gordon Taylor as the Premier League champions have sent 33 players out.

Jose Mourinho's side have let the likes of Juan Cuadrado (at Juventus), Marco van Ginkel (Stoke City) and Victor Moses (West Ham) depart this window, while have also used feeder Eredivisie club Vitesse to move players on to gain more experience.

However, Taylor does not agree with that approach."It's a bit of a worry with so many Chelsea players out on loan. It's almost a warehousing of players. You wonder whether it brings into question the integrity of the various competitions," he told The Mirror.

"From a player's point of view, you can see they would want to go out on loan if there is not a first-team place available.

"But Chelsea have an academy so you have to wonder how it is they have such a phenomenal number of players out there.

"Players want to play and the loan system gives them that chance. But then there are players at these clubs in Europe who are denied the chance because others are coming in with their parent clubs paying their wages. It makes that option more attractive.

"So then it is not about the best team winning a particular competition, it is about who has the best relationship with the biggest clubs.

"It's not so much something that we've been alerted to. It's something that you can't fail to notice because it has been such a phenomenal number of players out there."

http://www.espnfc.us/story/2597376/chelsea-are-warehousing-loan-players-pfa-chief-taylor

My own view about this issue;

Its just a business model that Chelsea have adopted since the introduction of FFP (whereas others like ManCity haven't taken FFP seriously). Chelsea pays small fees for young players who don't have the best contract and then after a few years of being out on loan, if they become A-team quality players they come back to Chelsea (like Cortouis or Bertrand Traore). If not, they will be sold for a higher price. (sell 10 players each year, make 2m pounds on each, suddenly you are getting Pedro for free!)
The interesting thing for me is that when Chelsea was spending huge money everyone was complaining and they set new rules to stop Chelsea's spending. Now that Chelsea has reduced its spending, no-one is doing anything about crazy money that the likes of ManU, ManCity and PSG spend each year...

the most consistent player over the season should take the nod then not a striker who drinks alomo bitters before entering the pitch and gives a flash-in-the-pan performance. henry is miles better than DD. how many league goals did DD score against man utd in his 9 seasons in the premier league? how many did henry?

when hazard becomes the league's top scorer like depay did last season then hazard can beat his chest....

the only thing your creator forgot to bless you with is intelligence.
hazard played at home against swansea. depay played away against swansea. even a kid of 5 would spot the difference in your moronic analogy. then again, what's the credibility of the site you posted? with hazard's cock-lickers like yourself populating the blogosphere....it's not hard to see why the poll would favour him in a match where he made little or no contribution overall. you need a sponsor to buy you artificial intelligence cos the one you were supposed to get as a human being is seriously lacking.
Hazard>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>'mere-fish dey-play'. Hazard own French league 1 during his stay there. What's Holland league compare to French league. Hazard kick the ground running when he arrived EPL what has 'mere-fish dey-play' done for 4 games now huh. Hazard won young best player twice and best player in French league before coming to EPl. At the age of 16, made his professional debut for Lille, the rest was history.

From kagawa to di Maria now is 'mere-fish dey-play.

"Hazard? He was the worst tonight. I thought about substituting him, but in the last 10 minutes he always the ability to do that. At the World Cup, this was the case. I obviously expect more from him, but I'm hoping he will grow as the season progresses"......Marc Wilmots (belgian manager)

Abeg "shekpe blues fans" should remove the spear from their eye sockets before coming to look for nails in ours! LOL!
its because he wants the best from him. If you read his comment further, he said the whole team performed below par including Fellaini.
They played a game three days ago before that match what did you expect, most of these Belgian players are regular starters in their respective clubs, they're trying to play safe. They know the goal will definitely come since it's Cyprus they are up against.

Go and think about how to get your own husband and marry instead of worrying yourself with useless invite that can not do you any good. It appear that since the break up, you have not succeeded to find a suitable man. If you have , you wouldn't be here contemplating on how to attend the wedding of a man who has probably used you and had moved on. He is even planning marriage with all your acclaimed thoughts that you dumped him. You are wasting precious time on a wild goose chase. Use this time to invest in your life, plan your own marital life and cancel the syndrome of Ex's over your life. How many Ex,s do you want have before you finally settle down? Women should be ashamed of referring to Ex,s as if it is a trivial thing. Each Ex,s always leave a mark of usage on your body and soul regardless even if you are the one that ended the relationship. I am surprised a woman can even post trash like this. What do you want to achieve. Get over this and give yourself a sense of goal in life. it appear you are not focused at the moment. I don't mean to offend. Just telling you the pure truth.

Here's the thing, an ex called me last week(my first boyfriend) to invite me to his wedding, the issue now is that I don't know if I should honour the invite, he said his wife insist he invites me(he didn't want to )I know he did love me and he was quite the model boyfriend then(he could pass for the types in mills$boons grin)and we have talked since the break up but I never thought he wouldn't invite me to his wedding, and now to call me to say his wife insists he invites me is kinda shocking/confusing, I always knew I would honour the invites I have the time to attend to,still I'm wondering if I should sit this one out, I partly want to go because it will be like a kind of reunion with old friends(even some who have to travel from very far for this) yet somehow, I feel like not going, he didn't sound happy to invite me, he was cold.

Would you go if you were the one?

international games?
do you type with your common sense?

you want to compare the tough european countries thierry henry must play against to qualify for big tournaments to togo, equatorial guinea, comoros island, zimbabwe & namibia that drogba get avalanche of goals against. drogba & henry played the same amount of league games in the EPL and henry scored 70 league goals more. that's the end of the argument. henry would score 200 goals for CIV if he was from abidjan.
Tah! Henry would be a flop for CIV, Africa football is more difficult to play because it's more of strength, bad pitch, et al. Put drogba among quality players French national team had then he would score 260 goals.

I wrote about the Henry myth on the chelsea thread like 2 weeks ago. It's only those who didn't watch him in his career and only saw his statue would think he's all that

Henry simply attached to success. Even his only CL he attached to the great barca team. For France anytime Zidane is missing Henry never delivered
Exactly! This is the point I'm trying to pass across. Saying Henry is 50000 times better than drogba(cooger comes to mind) is just been naive and blinded by sentiment. Both are good but if I'm to be a coach I'll choose drogba ahead of Henry due to his(drogba) ' never give up attitude', his doggedness in crucial games.

Those were some of the high stakes stages where Henry did a Henry. He simply disappeared

Drogba made sure his team win the CL final against all odds
Henry made sure his team lost the CL final against all odds

Most of the titles Henry won he simply tagged along it was only in the league that he scored for fun

Big game for club or country Henry dissappeared

Henry is the better player but he had some high profile "no shows".
Without thinking far i remember UEFA Cup final against 10 man Galatasaray( Hagi red carded) and the F.A Cup final against Liverpool.

There was something of the flat track bully in Henry (like Berbatov LOL). Legend no doubt and he has a statue in front of the stadium but Drogba performed better in the big games IMO.
As a coach, If I want to win tournaments I'll pick drogba but I'll pick Henry if I want to play league games( though drogba can beast league games also).

It just depends on personal preference.

In a league competition i would choose Henry because over the course of a season his talent will shine through and there will be goals galore.

In a cup or knockout competition i would choose Didier because he is physically and mentally tougher, plays his best when the chips are down and the odds are against him and he almost never fails to rise to the occasion.
Bro. I'm not sure if you're a Man U fan, objectivity is uncommon among them. This is how sane mind devoid of sentiment should talk not throwing insults like a defenseless teen.

don't change your mind......drogba has always played in a much better team than henry did in the EPL.
if you have a team as strong as chelsea's in the mid-2000s with an evil genius of a manager known as mourinho, then you would always score in a cup final. last week, SAF said he made so many decisions that has cost united plenty of titles. all those times SAF would leave the big guns on the bench and play rookies in cup finals are foolish decisions jose mourinho would never make. as far as jose is concerned, every match is worth winning----he doesn't downplay any competition.

drogba & henry played the same number of league games in the EPL....henry scored 70 league goals more.
Drogba played lesser games at international level when compared to Henry but had more goals.

when henry was at his prime and he had this rivalry with ruud, henry was untouchable. you need to see the kinda goals that dude was scoring for fun in the EPL. i will never forget his goal against united at highbury in that their invincible season. it was from 50 yards or so and the shot just flew straight into the net like a rocket. saha rescued united with a late equaliser......abeg, you couldn't touch henry then.
Drogba was a beast for the crucial occasion while Henry was a regular goal scorer in epl for arsenal.

Strange coincidence all three have played for Chelsea at some point since 2000 cheesy

I think stats would serve to prove that Eto was better, but then, to judge a player like DD just on statistics is to utterly miss the point of why Chelsea were so successful with him as the fulcrum of their attack. The man was a beast and at some point in a world of his own.

Personally, I would go with Eto on this. He looks way complete. In a trident, a two-man attack, as a lone frontman, a support striker and even as a left winger, the Cameroonian was simply technically and tactically complete, something you dare not say about DD who only flourished when used as a point man.
Chelsea is home for African legend, one of the reason I love this club.
