Seventy-four per cent of the national revenue disbursed to states comes from the Niger Delta, 20 per cent comes from the South-West, the remaining eight per cent is contributed by the South-East.

20% come from the south-west!!!!
lagos alone contributes over 14 percent of the 20 percent contributed by the whole south west of which the igbos are among the key players.

It just shows that the survival of pdp as a party is dependent on full scale looting, nothing less. yeye people with their yeye party.

Politics / Re: Let Buhari And Innocent Chukwuma Become Salesmen-In-Chief For Innoson Vehicles by Herald47: 1:00pm On Feb 17, 2016
If the government is really serious to save the crashing naira,he would have made it mandatory for all civil servant to use innoson vehicle as their official ride,he would have reduced the rate at which vehicles are imported in the country;also he would have advertise innoson vehicle to other african presidents and leaders.

During obj's tenure, he banned the importation of bagged cement, later he also banned the importation of unbagged cement which boosted dangotes cement and was a heavy blow to that of ibeto cement, although the naira was #150 to the dollar.why can't the president intervene now a dollar is 352 naira?

You know history right? Can you kindly name all the January 1966 coup plotters? Igbos and murders!
If your people haven't killed all those people, Nigeria won't have experienced dt unfortunate civil war and Nigeria would have been much better today. Your cry of being marginalized everyday while your people are in all tiers of government. You have senators, federal judges, members of house of reps, governors and even presidential candidates that you don't support. You are your problems.
had the yorubas avoided the 1963 political riot that threw the whole country into tension NZEOGWU and co. Wouldn't have intervened and their will be no coup.

But, no Politicians of Igbo blood lost his life right?
There was jubilation after the death of Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello right?
Yoruba's lost about 2key political actors, Hausa lost 2 key Political actors, Midwest Lost 1 key political actor, tell me the key political actor SE lost?
Unless we are gonna be very mischievous with history are we gonna say after the first coup, the whole landscape didn't favor Igbo's in Nigeria. It was just too obvious then. My dad told me how Igbo's made mouth of them being the "head" in those days and how they veered sumptuously. They bragged and ridiculed Hausa's then.
But, I dare not say all their folly warranted the pogrom and the subsequent loss of the Civil War. Nay, it ain't warrant it a bit! Even though Kaduna Nzeogwu was probably in favor of eliminating other political gladiators for Awolowo( that's what many believed), yet the fact that no political gladiator of SE extraction was killed in the coup and the mere cruelty of Igbo's jubilating and denigrating the death of Ahmadu Bello is something shameful which we must all condemn. Even when your enemy is down, do not celebrate so that GOD will not cease HIS anger on him.
The folly notwithstanding, I totally condemn the cruelty of the Hausa/Fulani's in the pogrom and all the needless debacle that follows it.
#LetsSpeakTheTruthAboutTheCivilWar.
why do you think the coup was termed 'unsuccessly'?it was unsuccessful because it was quenched by aguiyi ironsi who was also targetted at,if not for his intervention lots of casualties would have been recorded from the coup.it was the yoruba general involved in the coup that said so.

FYI,an igbo soldier trying to defend tafawa. balewa was killed.

Dats true, the difference between imo and osun state is,imo govt is broke but the civil servants are bubbling because they have other investments that they use to support their earnings from govt, that is to say they don't totally depend on govt, but osun govt. is broke and the civil servants is also broke becaure they failed to diversify their source of income, they totally rely on govt.

Often times I wonder why Igbos and so called Biafrans talk about the civil war and quickly link it with genocide. I wonder too why half of a yellow sun movie adopted from the book of same name will try to portray the Nigerian government in bad light without actually narrating the whole event as it occurs. It is a shame too that history is no longer taught in schools like in the old past and many supposedly educated youths are naive.

What actually happened before the civil war?

There was a Igbo Coup.. The first coup d'etat in Nigeria. Almost all of the coupists were of Igbo origin. Not a single Igbo blood was shed. Lots of Northerners and Yorubas lost their lives. Worst still, there was jubilation amongst the Igbos. Songs were made to mock the dead. Hilarious pictures mocking the dead was circulated by the Igbos. No Igbo leader or group came out to condemn the coup. An Igbo man by the name Aguyi Ironsi became the head of state. His government shielded and refused to punish the Igbo coupists which was all the majority of the northerners and the Yorubas wanted. Igbos in the north were publicly in support of the coup even though northerners were in mourning. The deaths of the northerners and the Yorubas were uncalled for and an unprovoked attack. These are what eventually led to the civil war. This is what the IPOB and Biafran agitators don't mention.

The first coup led to a counter coup where many Igbo and a few Yorubas lost their lives. The northerners took over and in retaliation of their support for the first coup, northerners started killing them. They fled to the east in droves. Ojukwu declared Biafra.
stop distorting history,a yoruba man was among the six generals that executed the first military coup,it was aimed at releasing awolowo from prison, neglection of the aburi accord by gowon led to the civil war.

You can never trust any human govt. NEVER.
How won't America classify such atrocities and declassify it about 4 decades later?
America committed a genocide by killing VIRTUALLY ALL THE RED INDIANS who once occupied America; The Mohicans, Delaware's etc. They also once committed genocide on Vietnam. Most human govt ALWAYS like "removing anyone on their paths" and the cases of various Civil Wars in various countries will tell you basically that both divides of agitating govt always tow the paths of genocide or its potential (or should I say democide?)
Let me give you an example, during the Nigerian Civil War, Biafra knew to win Nigeria it must seize Lagos. The only way to do that is to march on Lagos. The people of Ore and Ijebu did not want such, hence they attempted to deny them the Right of Passage( anyway, its Ore and Ijebu land of course). Biafran soldiers became angry, wanted to force their ways and in the process of defense by Ore and Ijebu natives, they massacred some of them (well, we could term that a genocide). This drew the erstwhile Yoruba tribe into the battle which remains the critical point in the Civil War.
Were Ore and Ijebu not right in refusing advancing rebels right of passage? Why massacre them because you have more military might? Was the reprisal not too cruel? Should Biafrans have looked on while Federal troops were using Ore has a launchpad against them? All these questions will always be answered in bias. History (depending on whose side you hear it from) will always play on our emotions and intelligence. The best we can always do is bury the ghost of the Civil War and outgrow our individual and collective pains (my father will always remind me that Biafrans killed 2 of his best friends but I always remind him Federal Troops killed over 2millions of Biafrans). The pains will always be there till the ghosts are buried.
shut up,you yorubas allowed the hausa/fulani to launch attack on the easterners from lagos, when the easterners(biafran)went to revenge you yorubas suddenly woke up...hypocrites

I really don't understand how you people think. This is a laudable project negotiated by Rochas, and to be embarked by shell. How sure are you that the state government does not have a stake in the project. What you don't know about puplic private projects like this one is that the state government may only provide one of the factors of production which is land for free for a stake. Stop bringing down others if you are not sure, except maybe you have the contract document as a proof.
why not encourage him to also claim the shoprite at egbu road.
