Thank you so much for this input.
I don dey fear say how I go do am....

I want to ask further,
What if I transfer part/half of the money to my account so the VO would know that I truly have access to withdraw the money.
I have read on this thread before that you should transfer from your BUSINESS account to your PERSONAL account cos using a business account for studies is suspicious.
So, using the same ideology now, don't you feel sir that using a child's account could be suspicious?

I'm not trying to argue here, I just need more clarification.
Bobomaigida:
Please leave the funds in your child's account, get a reference letter showing you are the signatory to the account, explain that you were saving the funds in the account to guard against impulsive spending and the interest paid on children's account, reiterate the fact that you have been the one saving funds in there to be used at a later date.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Heritagebib:
God day everyone. I want the gurus to suggest the BEST option for me on this matter...

My POF is in my child's account. I have been saving the money there over the yrs.

Now I want to transfer the money back to my account and apply for visa. Can I do dt? I mean is it achievable?

These are my fears..
1. The money is going to be a LUMP SUM, so how do I defend that I am NOT DIVERTING money meant for my child for my own gain(although, there is alot of evidence to show that all the money in my child account was transferred from my account bit by bit over the years; in the space of 4yrs.

OR
should I just transfer now and print my account in October (4month) so that the lump-sum won't show . If I do 6month or 1yr MBS there will be good inflow and outflow but the lump-sum too will show

Thank you . I was able to do the transfer and I got a confirmation mail from flywire
tenderjunkie:
You have two options of paying via black market rate.
1. On the flywire website, you can choose to pay in Naira. It will convert the fees to naira equivalent and it will provide you with a naira account to make payment

2. On the flywire website, choose to make payment via dollar card. But before that, ensure you have a sufficiently funded domiciliary account and a dollar card attached to the account. To fund the account, source for dollars from aboki and pay it into the account
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Heritagebib: 7:27pm On May 07, 2023
Thank you so much. I have done it and flywire has sent a mail to confirm the transfer.
CindyByFine:
I think you would have to redo it this time choosing the naira bank transfer.

Just follow the instructions on the site, fill in your details and all....when you click on the make payment button in the last snapshot, it will load a page that has a Bank name: 9payment Service Bank
With a unique Account number
Reference number
And you just copy info and do a transfer from your Nigerian Bank account.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Heritagebib: 2:01pm On May 05, 2023
Thank you for your response.
Pls explain more on how I can do NORMAL BANK TRANSFER to flywire.
I already printed the naira conversation for my first semester tuition on flywire website, I have the reference number too....
So, what's d next thing to do?
CindyByFine:
Flywire allows you to do Normal Bank Transfers na or use your normal naira debit card.

And yes, I have used both options for two of my cousins.

It is only PaymyTuition that is not considerate for Nigerians...that MTFX people don't accept anything except you do Naira Bank transfer with a killer margin or do Dom cards or FX transfer.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Heritagebib: 1:01pm On May 05, 2023
Please can someone help on how I can pay my tuition deposit through flywire?
I have already printed my my reference number form flywire
fastseo:
well exchange rate was like 1.26 per which is 1.26*3000

in naira term he was charged like 2.8 plus million as against cbn 2.1plus
which is equivalent of black market rate....
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Heritagebib: 10:32am On May 05, 2023
Can you pls put me through on how I can pay through black market rate?
I already downloaded payment voucher and code from flywire but zenith bank says they don't know about it.
tenderjunkie:
1. Yes, 8 months is a full session in Canada
2. You can pay tuition via form A or black market rate

Since you are not a recent graduate, go for a program related to your present occupation. Biotech and Biomed are lucrative, but you will have challenges establishing the program's relevance to your present and career path.

Most schools require a 2.1 for masters; others consider a 2.2 if you did well in the last two years.

Don’t go for another degree to avoid the issue of redundancy unless you have a well-defined reason. Instead, go for a post-graduate cert or diploma.

The 10-year gap is not an issue.

Most schools exempt Nigerian graduates from taking IELTS.

Some years ago, most people preferred Atlantic provinces because their programs were favourable to temporary residents. Now, most provinces have PNP tailored for students and workers in their province. So, for now, focus on getting your study permit; you can go for a 2-yr program to get a 3-yr PGWP. Three years is enough time to accumulate the required Canadian work experience.

‘Quick’ PR depends on factors like Language test score, level of education completed, work experience, age, relatives in Canada etc.

I'm not trying to prove any point but I want you to address the benefits of Ontario over Atlantic provinces.

Dear Nairalanders,I NEED HELP. I am still confused on the choice of course and college to choose.
I want a 2yrs course and I don't mind January admission.
I have been on d search since 1wk now, the thing is giving me serious headache
makano:
Hello Sam

I wanna believe you have already gotten Admission in this school, so you can go ahead with your Visa Application.

But on a norms, I will advise anybody to apply to Ontario colleges for their Admission. Even though this colleges are more expensive thna other colleges in other provinces, you stand a high chance of getting ur Visa (If you put in a visa application) and also future benefits in the province of Ontario..

Peace

Can you pls suggest a good sch for me in Canada considering all these things you mentioned.

Molajim:
Nothing is wrong with the school and the island is a very very beautiful place. It doesn’t affect your study permit. Only that FOR ME, I’m seeking a better life not a more stressful one and my conclusion was based on these facts;
1) The acceptance rate of the school increased by more than 50%. Public records state that’s Cape Breton economy is now over 62% funded by international student tuition.
The economic implications are ; they are yet to have the capacity to provide enough jobs and accommodation on the island.
2) students that are there already complain that
the university is outgrowing its surrounding infrastructure. Implicattion is ; school resources that is provided for 10people now have to be share with more than 20 people.
My conclusion: travelling to a foreign country to study can be challenging on its own. I don’t need added stress. Imagine during summer break where u are to work as much as u want to stack up money but u cannot find work.

Honestly I don't know anything about Canada or schools in Canada. So, I don't even know how to make a good choice and that was the reason my husband consulted maple; his friend told him about them.
I wouldn't mind if you or any guru on nairaland can guide me on how to make a good choice of college and course.

RUN FAST ! RUN FAR from that school
Target schools in the city that have refund policy
Every province proffers pr pathway. In my opinion the Atlantic province is the easiest and fastest.
Any prog u go make sure it’s in line with your educational background and work experience.
Personally, I will never trust anyone that advices me to go to CBU, especially someone that is a professional. It’s pure wickedness and clearly they don’t have ur best interest.
