you shouldn't be so proud of your girl, if she is a Nigerian, you might want to encourage her to learn more about her culture, not that I'm saying she need to look like one or sound like one. anyway, my speech earlier is for the wannabes and pretenders ( people that try so hard(to hide accent)that you just feel ashamed for them) i saw alot of those when i was in La for an audition, you got me
Well, I didn't mean to give you the impression that I was proud of her situation. I actually wish that she was more in tune with her Nigerian culture, but she's a very dedicated career women and in her words,  doesn't have time to spend learning all that "stuff", and her sister flat out denies or disassociates herself from her Nigerian or African period, direct descent.

According to her, the two times she's been to Naija--- all of her family siblings there ridiculed her for sounding and acting too "Yankee",  and told her that she wasn't Nigerian,  but just an "Akata". She accepted that upon having noticed that she had little in common with her cousins and their friends, and after that second trip,  she officially stopped seeing herself as an Nigerian/African in exchange for being African-American or "black-American---- FULL STOP" as she emphasises it.

As for my wife, her transformation came via isolation from any Nigerians other than her parents, in that she grew up in some small town in Central PA, were there were only African-Americans and European-Americans for the most part, and alot of them were rednecks, so of course the vast majority of her young life was spent with African-Americans,  in where she just naturally molded into the group and took on their/our identity as hers.

i been in La and i met alot of nasty niger girls, most had plastic sugery done trying to fit into Hollywood, some of them try so hard to fake their accent that i feel embarass for them undecided

my point is, I hope you are not one of them
undecided I'm not a chick, I'm not Nigerian, and I'm not from LA. I was just answering your question for that Mocha girl. I'm an African-American born in the NYC (Harlem) and partly raised in Buffalo, NY. I'm married to an Igbo woman,  though you'd never know that she was if you were to meet her. She was born and raised in the US, and has been to Naija for only 2 short stays a rather long time ago. Regretably, the only thing Nigerian about her is the simple fact of that she was born to Nigerian parents; other than that---- you mine's well refer to her as just another African-American, her sister too.  sad

CelebritiesRe: Tyra Is The Bomb! by Hero(m): 6:47pm On May 02, 2006
I've got to give it up to Tyra, she's a smart cookie. She's done with modeling and is trying to get her new career path off the ground with a solid leap. It's true that her mentor, Oprah is helping her guide her TV career and take ownership of her shows, and no doubt a big part of that is image presentation. Stay out of trouble, live discretely so to lesson the chance of phony bad publicity, be charitable with your wealth, always maintain a balance in the way you address sensitive issues in the nation and world, and if you choose to date or marry,  do so to a person who you know wont make you look bad and if possible,  will even raise your image. Perry is said to be a very religious, stable person who you wont go out and compile a bunch of bad media publicity.

He's a self made BROTHA (that's a key point for her success, just as Tylers sticking to a SISTA is for his success), going places,  with a drive comparable to hers, and to top it all off he's a good looking guy. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Tyra starting to attend church regularly. On another note, through Tyra's name, Tyler can gain a greater level of exposure to the world scene for his plethora of works, beyond just the Madea stuff he dose. The guy's a really good producer, director, actor and writer worth over 100M. With a greater platform, he can do really big things.

Music/RadioRe: Who Is Better East Coast Or West Coast by Hero(m): 5:31am On May 01, 2006
Theryman:
I'd say since it started -some would say that it started when Tupac was shot in New York, but for me, the label war started when Biggie signed to Bad Boy records :
94= East (ready to die and ILLMATIC!!!!!!!)
95= West (Me against the world + Hit'em Up)
96= West (all eyez on me + 2pac died : the Hottest year in hip-hop!!!!! : reasonable doubt; the score; the 7day theory)
97= East (Life after Death +Biggie died)
98= East (hard knock life + the miseducation of Lauryn Hill)
99= West (Eminem Joins Aftermath and creates Shady Aftermath)
2000= West ( Marshall Mathers LP)
2001= TIE ( the best year in hip hop after 1996 : chronic2001 on the west side and Blueprint and Stillmatic on the east side)
2002= West (paid tha cost to be tha boss- the worst year in hip hop)
2003 = East (eminem discovers 50 while Jay-Z drops the black album)
2004= East (Kanye west college dropout)
2005= East far far ahead (kanye west late registration and Game claims that he loves New York tho he's from LA + all the new beefs in New York and finally the "I declare war" concert)
2006= I was expecting that dre would drop "detox" and I would give it to the west but as it dosent seem like it's going to happen, we don't know yet,
Hold up!! Em and his flow,  is a product of Detroit, and that's East Coast, or Midwest at the least. And while Tu Pac spent most of his career in the game in the West he was born, raised and started rapping on the East Coast (Brooklyn, NYC),  and most knowledgeable folks know that his flow was clearly that of an East Coast Nicca. No other West Coast artist flowed like him, yet plenty of East Coast headz did and do.

He's a product of the East Coast, who moved to the West with his parents when he was younger, after attending a major school of performing arts in Baltimore. Yet, he later returned to the east and started his career with the Digital Underground, an legendary East Coast group. He rolled with them for a good spell shaping and and molding his talent,  before releasing his own work,  starting with "2Pacalyps Now".

2Pac was simply an East Coast artist repping the West. A trader, to say the least. Without an East Coaster (2Pac),  the West wouldn't had even been in the same ball park as the East. East Coasters rap smart, eeeerbody else raps thug.  Now one shouldn't ever get that Twisted.

Tu Pac, Kanye, Nas, Big, Rakim, Em, Common, Talib Kwale, Seagal, Big Daddy Kane, Public Enemy, Fresh Prince, Queen Latifah, Koo Mo Dee (SP), , Jam master flash, 50, Fabolous, Wu Tang Klan, Q-Tip, Fugees, Fat Joe, Busta Rymes,  and on and on and on. The game is locked. The NYC alone,  can stand alone by it self as the most profound spot in the world for Hip-Hip production in history.

Zeta Jones is butt ugly. She looks like a man. I don't know, I'm really not that attracted to Nordic white chicks anymore like I used to be way back when I was a youngin,  blinded by media hype that pushed the Nordic look as being most divine. The only white chicks that look decent in my eyes are the Meds, cause alot of them got that Mulatto/Latin-American look going on. Also white Nordic chicks lose their beauty waaaaay too fast. When they're in their teens and 20's they look aight, and by the time they hit 35,  they go to crap, and look like they're 10 years older than they really are; Yeah, not all,  but certainly most.

Music/RadioRe: Will Styl-plus End Up Like Other Boy Bands? by Hero(m): 2:53am On Apr 28, 2006
I've heard some of Style-Plus's songs and they, as a group, sound pretty good,  though I think if they were to seek the aid of a top R&B or Hip-Hop producer, like JD,  they can really go 112 or Jagged Edge big time in the world scene, or at least here in North America. This is a business and as in any business,  one should seek to work with the best, so to release the best available product for the best amount of sales. Why don't top Niaja groups or African groups in general do this? Many Jamaican artist have reached out to collabo with top American artist or producers and now are much better known in the American and world market for it, several British artist have as well,  like Flowitry.

Her albums will sale much better and her overall publicity will grow astronomically if she'd start dressing and presenting herself as more of a mature lady instead of a Tom Boy. She's damn hot, yet covers it up in all that Tom Boy, thug dress.

CelebritiesRe: Beyonce Vs Kelly Rowland by Hero(m): 7:21am On Apr 20, 2006
For those whom are saying that Kelly isn't really like she is portrayed in the media; I'll have you know that that statement is absolutely false. She personally said in an interview that who she is in the public eye is exactly who she is behind the scenes, and actually that she's even a bit more reserved than what she's presented as in the public eye.

She said that when she commits to a relationship she puts her all into it, and that she does so to an extent at which if the guy was to break cheat on her,  she could see herself attempting to seriously physically harm him for doing so, cause she hates to be taken advantage of and made to look a fool. Trust me guys this girl is a really special lady, who is really a good hearted decent young lady who would make some lucky man an excellent wife.

And yes, she is absolutely without a doubt better looking than Beyonce, and a better singer as well. And she once stated that the fact of that Beyonce was more popular and supported by the public than she doesn't concern her one bit, because that's her blood, best friend and partner,  and thus could never hold ill feelings toward her for something as simple as media attention.
CelebritiesRe: Beyonce Vs Kelly Rowland by Hero(m): 9:28pm On Apr 18, 2006
Beyonce is way overrated. Kelley is a scrumptious, tasty looking shota Mocalata Chocolata. Yum, yum; I can just eat her. Truly wifey material. I'm married, so I can tell you with certainty that, while Beyonced is simply the type of girl that guys dream about just having sex with once or twice, maybe more, Kelly's the type that brothas dream and fantasize about marrying and having kids with. She's one of those, THE ONE, type of ladies.

Has anyone noticed that,  while the girl can shake a mean tail feather and cut a serious rug, she cant really sing to save her own life. The girl seriously needs to go the Nilly Vanilly (sp) route, cause her vocals are about as tight as a women's puttycat after having popped out about 10 kids. Take a picture, draw a hint.  kiss
