I don't trust this woman. As many have said, she portrays BH members as people involved in a 'play kidnapping' that went bad. If they really wanted to release them why didn't they just bring the 50 girls to a place and call their 'mama' to come and get them?

After April 2014 kidnap of the Chibok girls they still killed thousands of people mercilessly!

That is not true Emir Sanusi. Northeast Nigeria is not the only poor region in the world. Boko Haram is an terrorist ideology that thrives well under poverty.

The same with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

why must we provoke one another? The problem with us is that we fail to recognise and respect our differences.
why must we start problems we can't curtail? imaging how Christians would feel if Jesus is being insulted, though no serious Muslim would do that because, Jesus was our noble Prophet and it would amount to a great sin should any one insult him.
If you insult Jesus Christ, no Christian will kill you and you KNOW IT! We would probably shake our heads in pity at your ignorance and pray that you see the light.

The spirit at work in Christianity is just different from that at work in Islam. That is the simple explanation.

No one should hail and praise the governor of any state because most, if not all the schools, are privately owned schools.

PoliticsMassive Call For Restructuring At 50th Remembrance Of Fajuyi (pics) by hero2000(op): 8:43pm On Jul 29, 2016
Today, 50 years ago, Lt Col Adekunle Fajuyi was killed alongside the then Nigerian head of State, Gen Aguyi Ironsi by counter-coupist of mainly Northern extraction. There is the narrative that he refused to hand over his guest in Ibadan, Gen Ironsi, to the coup soldiers who wanted to kill the head of state. Fajuyi then was killed for his loyalty to Gen. Ironsi. Another narrative says Fajuyi was also on the death list of the coupist and would have been killed anyway. A third view is the combination of the two narratives above: that Fajuyi was to be killed anyway and at the same time refused to release Gen Ironsi to the killers. In the midst of all these, Fajuyi is recognized as a omoluabi- a person of virtue and honour in Yoruba ideology.

Various speakers, led by the guest lecturer Prof Niyi Osundare, called for the restructuring of the country as the only means to progress. The Confab 2014 report according to him will help us chart a way forward. He affirms Nigeria's existence(if it existed in the first place) must be negotiable.

It must be noted that the general position of the other speakers is not secession from Nigeria but one in which the nationalities within Nigeria are respected. How can we build a great Nigeria by destroying the nations within Nigeria.

At the events were Gen Alani Akinriade, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Gov Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Deputy governor of Ogun State, Gen Olutoye, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Prof Niyi Osundare, Yinka Odumakin, Pa Fasotanti and many others

The fact remains, he never divorced his wife nor got separated from her. He is a man of god, hand picked by God, his obedience to the word of God cannot be questioned. As a Bishop he has obeyed fully the portion that says a man who is not capable of ruling his own household should not bishop it out over the house of God.

gringrin Sorry to ruffle your feathers but I doubt you could comprehend what I wrote there.
Over the years in my business dealings, I've a simple principle...put your mouth where your money is. Fashola said a serious government should be able to solve power problems in six months. He further boasted of what he did in Lagos and peeps like you applauded him.

Fast forward to over six months since getting the portfolio of the power ministry and we are even worse off than before he took over. Excuses, excuses and more excuses. Is he indirectly telling us the Buhari government isn't serious?

About you thinking Fashola is presidential material, that's your own opinion and you are entitled to it. I actually thought in that light too one certain time until he went about maintaining websites for 175 million naira.
Also for your information, I read more than QUARTER of the original post. #peace
I doubt you reside in Lagos.

But to the main issue, I agree with you that Fashola didn't understand the power sector and that was the reason he said all the things he said. But now that he understands he attempts to let Nigerians know the real situation of things and that these things take time. But is it not that because of your dislike for him you refuse to see the factual nature of the situation? I am glad you didn't contradict any of his facts. Whether you like Fashola or not facts are facts. Eg. TCN cannot yet transmit more than 5000MW but they are working on it. Thanks to NDA they work will take longer than it is planned.

I love your analogy, before I stumbled on this piece, I had a falling out with someone on Twitter, asking him what has been dobe about power

He directed me to this piece, I then understood the enormity of the problems.

There is also a 2010 power roadmap, I will read that & out up my thoughts too(it's over 150pages),

Nigerians don't like the word process, they want quick fix.

As I stated earlier, even if they genco's generate 12,000MW how do you transmit it when our national grid can't take more than 5,000MW?

The national grid can't be upgraded within a year. Some industrial quipments take nothing less than 7months-1yr to procure & deliver

I just tire, my major grouse is the DISCO's that are ripping is off
I agree with you on the DISCO thing. Prepaid meters must be given to everyone to avoid the exploitation.

But our people too may start by-passing. Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of DISCO to device a technique to identify by-passers.

No need for any epistles Fashola should provide power he was appointed to provide. All Nairalanders know where to go if we need to read journal. OP tell Fashola power is not story telling. He should just do it. How he does it is no business of mine. Fashola left no room for Jonathan's story on power Nigerians are not ready for his story as well.
I doubt you read a quarter of the piece but here you are showing your dislike for intellectual reasoning. It is like a child who cries (or wails!) to mummy that he wants to eat and mummy says the gas just finished and that she would go and buy kerosene to complete the cooking. The little child most likely not understand that 'epistle'. All the child wants is food! Whether the mum has to cut his hand for him to eat he doesn't give a damn!
Many Nigerians are like that baby. The don't understand process. They think results are magic. Why won't they think like that? Some of them had their Final year Long Essay(project) written by 'consultants'. They have not yet developed the power of intellectual rigour to get things done. Hence they can't show empathy to anyone doing the same.
Fashola, to me, is a presidential material.

I don't go about throwing insults with every kid that has access to Android phones that probably doesn't belong to him. Well, abacha in all his fallings maintained the exchange rate to the dollar at 80naira, he never increased PMS more than 15naira. Yes nigeria was going through though times, but recall it was mainly because of sanctions placed on Nigeria by the International community. So Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Congo DR etc. that the loss of millions of lives would have been avoidable had the citizens of those countries been allowed to rule in their own way and not being influenced by outside interfaces.
You can't cross my fence and come into my house to tell me how to rule my home. Of course I will revolt against you.
That 1914 amalgamation is one of the soar parts in the history of Nigeria, why? Because someone from England thought it was a great idea to join a group of diverse people to be one, and you expect peace?

Liberate yourself from mental slavery, nothing good can ever come from the western world to developing countries.
Who is/was the hero of democracy that died truly for liberty and never connected to some adverse motives?

I am entitled to my opinion and so are you, never insult me in any thread again or else, I go change am for you.
All kinds of comments on nairaland sha! But it seems you prefer military govt. I'll ask you few questions:

Do you think engaging the people in their own affairs is good for a country?
Don't you think a military govt is susceptible to coups and counter coup?
Don't you think a govt that has 4 guaranteed years to plan and work is better than a govt that is not sure to be there next week?

Finally, would you say because your car has problems and needs repairs, you would trek to Abuja from Lagos?

That last question is sarcastic and intentionally so. Let us work on fixing our democracy rather than wishing for something that make us start complaining 4 weeks into it.
Christianity EtcRe: But Why Would God Allow Someone To Be Killed While Preaching His Words ? by hero2000: 5:25pm On Jul 11, 2016
God did not assure his children in the Bible that they wouldn't be attacked or killed. Jesus even said some of his disciples are going to be killed. So it is not strange.

But also God can and does protect his children. We will all die someday. The man who kills a believer of Jesus Christ won't add the life of his victim to his own. So the irony of a most powerful God who sometimes watches as his children are being killed is beyond us sometimes. But he didn't promise us an all-sweet Christian journey. What he promises his children whether they are killed or die naturally is eternal life.
