babeface3:I am surprised that many people cannot detect when they are being deceived and scammed by misleading headlines. The comments I read shows the crook reporter succeeded in his agenda at mind control. That said there is no where the SGF said anything close to that. The journalist only mischievously drew the inference. What the SGF said is even in the case of Salisu Buhari in 1999 he resigned and the then govt didn't prosecute him. He didn't say this govt would do that. |
pepigeorge:Which Awolowo died in prison? Stop spewing ignorance and learn. Start by googling Obafemi Awolowo. |
DerKaiser:You are very funny. Is that why every sentence is a paragraph for you! Mr paragraph! |
DerKaiser:You must be one huge hypocrite! |
JimiOgunlola:So if Aisha Buhari offers to shake Obama and shakes her, Sultan is greater than Obama! For your mind. |
Mopolchi:same thing here bro. |
Macelliot:And after telling her he didn't condemn her, he told her to 'sin no more'. |
Desyree:No wonder you are asking such questions. Why not read it all over again? |

If and if indeed they killed 2 policemen and attacked military personnel, they really wanted to die. I said IF. Military are trained to shoot and kill. Protesters should be CAREFUL when confronting soldiers. If your fellow protesters start to go violent you should know it is time to disengage sharperly. |
Most of the people condemning this soldiers act are either in US or Europe or those who would drive on the wrong side of the road too. Those in America or Europe, when there is traffic do you leave your lane and cross to the other lane to face on coming traffic? No. Why won't you do it? Because you would probably be arrested and fined. Good. But in your dear country no one is fined or arrested on those roads-Ore Expressway. Why?Maybe because there are no officials to do so. Even if there are FRSC on the way how would they arrest and fine 400 vehicles that have violated? 'Haaa! 400' you say. Yes sometimes even more. And these things happen regularly. Someone has to take the bull by the horn and do something even though 'illegal'. Desperate situations call for desperate measures. If there were sanctions for erring drivers this wouldn't be called for. |

Vinshu:No wonder many 13 year olds are no longer virgins. |
Omojuwa, this is uncalled for as it serves no purpose. It is in fact meaningless. Even though I dont usually agree with Fayose what he has done about the menace of killer herdsmen is a step in the right direction. And here you are trying to mock him but you have successfully failed at it. Fayose is deploying resources that is at his disposal to tackle a problem confronting his people. Ambode is doing the same with the resources he has. By the way Fayose hunters would be more effective in securing the remote villages that the Lagos police who cannot do without BB and whatsapp. See Northeast. The Civilian JTF assisted with intel since they know the terrain better. Commend what is good and don't be a ... |
The last thing the Minister said was that people should ensure they get prepaid meters. At least, you don't get to pay for what you don't use. But people won't make attempt to get it or pressurize their landlord to get one. Rather they would whine and curse and DO NOTHING! In our house we told our landlady to buy it from the money the next tenant pays. It was even almost like a condition for rent payment. She paid and we had to follow up and follow up until we got it! The nasty corrupt disco officials at the neighborhood office would want to create bottlenecks for you because they know they won't get reconnection fee and other monies they get once you are prepaid. Rather, try to go their main office around you. That was how we got our prepaid meter. And if they don't bring power for days we won't pay shishi. This system needs all of us to work. The minister can't monitor your meter processing for you. Do your own part too. Finally, do you think a former governor who was awarded best governor in Nigeria by some bodies would suddenly be brainless? I don't think so. Some people don't want this govt work and they celebrate any ill that happens. |
MrPresident1:I beg your pardon! Did you say Idi Amin is one of the greatest Africa's leaders? |
Splinz:Very reasonable answer! |
Pavarottii:It is far better than doing nothing. While on the low pay he gains experience and may opportunities for better offers. Go ahead bro. |
I believe they are also sponsored to cripple this administration. But come to think of it, the Niger Delta people will lose most! I am almost certain they have been given billions by their sponsors while they tell the ordinary Niger deltan they are fighting for them. Look at Boko Haram. If indeed it was meant to destabilize GEJ govt, who suffers from the destruction the most? Whose children won't have schools to go for many years? Who won't have man power for industries because people have relocated from NE? Who will live in IDP camps in their own state? Of course the Northeast people! Now to the militants blowing up pipelines, your people will suffer it most. Nigeria has been through a lot and I think these attacks can never cripple the economy. It will make things tougher. Yes. But as a nation we will develop other means of revenue while we try to secure oil installations. I hope Edwin Clarke will rally the elders of ND and talk sense to these boys heads. Finally, I say in Patience's voice, 'Continue!' |
What kind of mischievous post is this? Where did Sanusi say it was Ameachi that leaked the letter to OBJ? If I be MOD you for don hear am. |
tdayof:Yinmu! SWAT for Fulani herdsmen(terrorist)? Do SWAT have jungle training? In all American films I've watched, SWAT operate in urban centres. Besides, Nigeria Police have no SWAT team so the best bet is military. |
donjerry1:Sebi he don talk. Why are you saying he is silent? |
moshino:Everybody don wise up! It was reported the the ABOBAKU of the late Ooni ran away! Lol! |
Wesely01:Please, weigh what you say in a public space and don't say things that are abrasive to reason. Soyinka; SSA to PMB! Are you alright? Or are a child? If you were not born at the time, then know today that Soyinka won Nobel Prize in Literature in 1987-the first African to win such. I believe you know what the prize is. |
SimeoNwabekeyi:Thank you. I don't know if he is a kid or not but surely he has much to learn about historical developments in Nigeria. Does he have an inkling of the courage and sacrifice of people like Soyinka during military rule? Our he put his life on the line along with intellectuals like Prof Osundare? |
TANTUMERGO007:What is wrong with being old? Do you know Winston Churchill? He was UK prime minister when he was about 80. |
engrchykae:Your comment is very insightful. |
Indices of a progressive nation Some indicators show whether a country is progressive or otherwise. If those indicators are clearly present, such country is on the way to great attainment even if the present reality is not impressive. (Those Indicators are not physical and tangible per se. They are seen by persons who are discerning). In Nigeria only few of those progressive indices are seen. Just about the only indicator of progress for the Nigerian State is calibre of the present leadership at the Central government, especially in the executive arm. The Federal executive, led by President Buhari, has many persons of great vision and discipline. And since the Nigerian federal system is skewed towards the government at the centre, the effect the current calibre of leaders at the centre is huge. However, I cannot vouch for the quality of persons at the federal legislature and state executives. Looking at society at large, the progressive indices are clearly deficient. Firstly, the Nigerian society has a penchant (and contented tolerance) for disorder and injustice. A prime example is our behaviour at the filling station during fuel scarcity. The legitimate queue which is usually a line is turned into multiple lines. Then another set of uncivil persons (I am tempted to call them miscreants) lay siege to the exit gate of the filling station. They block it and thus creating a situation in which the only way for persons who have bought fuel to leave is to admit some of them into the fuel station! They gleefully cheat the hundreds of persons queuing legitimately. (A person of shallow thinking might retort that we would not witness such behaviour if there was no scarcity in the first place. He confuses the effect with the cause and turns reasoning on its head.) Many of us have the chicken mentality. The chicken only sees what is near ahead of it. We think of now now. Few people think ahead. Even if today’s exhilaration and excitement turns to doom and death tomorrow for us and many others, we seem not to care. A lecturer collects money to pass students. He doesn’t care if the students will kill his children through their defective work tomorrow. He just doesn’t care. He only cares what he will eat today! Lastly, have you ever seem an advanced society with filth and squalor all about? Nigerians are unclean! The graduate as well as the unschooled take bottles of soft drink and then the empty bottles fly out the window. The question is who will pick up that filth of yours? There are the waste management people. Yes. But their job is to move the refuse in your drums to the litter dump not to sweep and pick up the outcome of your irresponsibility. Open defecation and host of houses without any toilet are matters for another day. I know the only positive index I can see, which is quality of leadership at the central executive, can influence society. However, the bulk of the movement to progress is to be undertaken by the ordinary man and woman on the street. This movement is slothful. Olusola Aladejebi |
TolaniLuv:Now that kind of mindset of yours is the reason we have not been able to get the most basic human needs! How could you say they should keep the rest of the money? Have you ever seen, even in your dreams, a nation that throws probity to the trash and the same time advancing? |
While I think Fayose is quite disgraceful in his actions as governor, if you watch the video carefully you would find out that Fayose's lip movement indicated UNIMPEACHABLE not impeachable. This is product of VIDEO EDITING. Even the presenter, what she actually said was UNIMPEACHABLE not impeachable. Anyway, he has maligned so many people so this may be his payback. But the truth must be told even about your ENEMY. |
