A woman, who lost four of her children in a kerosene explosion at her residence in Rumukwucha community, was seen yesterday around GRA Junction half-naked and appealing to passers-by to help rescue her children from the inferno.

Drinosblog gathered that the woman, identified as Iya Samson, lost her four children last Friday night in an explosion that resulted from the adulterated kerosene she poured into her cooking stove.

A resident in the neighbourhood, who gave his name as Uche, said the lady was cooking when the stove suddenly went up in flames, consuming her four children and other valuables in her apartment.

Uche’s words:
“We heard people saw her around GRA area of Port Harcourt begging that they should help recover her children from fire. “Those who saw her did not know we were looking for her. They mistook her for a mad person.“

Meanwhile, her husband, Mr. Ademola Danaogun, has appealed to Port Harcourt residents to help bring back his wife wherever they see her.

He said they told him they saw the wife half-naked, urging people to help rescue her four children from an inferno. He passionately appealed to the public not to attack his wife or mistake her for a witch, stressing that she had not recovered from the shock of the sad and painful loss.

His words:
“We have been looking for her since. Some said they saw her at Ogbogoro; we have gone there to look for her, but didn’t find her.

“Yesterday evening, some people said they saw my wife at GRA. They said she was shouting that her four children were burning in fire. “Please, if you see my wife, don’t kill her. People may conclude that she is a witch and had killed the children. “No, it is not like that. I want to see her and take her home. We are going back to our state because we have lost everything.”

Over 24 hours ago , I was having fun on my Snapchat with few friends to raise money for me to blow for the weekend .

In less than an hour I was sent over 2 million naira which was much more than what I was seeking to have fun for that moment so I decided to give some of it out , I sent a couple of people I know some of it and I remembered a boy with a severe pain because by an armed robbery attack , so I decided to donate to him to get good medical attention , I also thought I would use my platform to get him a lot of donors which I posted his case on my page and he has then received massive turn out from my friends and followers but there ’ s something I noticed , to my surprise not even one of this bloggers who are quick to pick anything I do ever picked that good I did to write about, rather I see some blogs posting hushpuppi stylishly turns beggar, and none of their commenters / fans wrote to them that they should see this and that which hushpuppi has done o , none of your celebrities do this rather they only post and fold their arms to problem of the public who made them who they are, we didn ’ t see eniola badmus and kcee to tag federal government that I deserve a goodwill award but they are quick to tag efcc to come and investigate my blessings but at the end of the day I am not surprised , all my years in the struggle I have learnt black people mostly Nigerians are quick to bring their own down rather than praise, build or support each other .

Love don ’ t exist among us but with all this I won ’ t stop being the good guy that I am either y’ all see it or not , God sees it and I see why he never seize to keep blessing me.

The coordinator of the Progressives e-Group, Comrade Wale Alabi this morning assures the gathering of progressive loyalists who were in his office to discuss trending issues in the State of Osun and across Nigeria that Osun will be rated better when the 2017 WAEC SSCE rating comes out in October.

Responding to the issue of fake WAEC rating being circulated by the opposition party, Alabi said it's so unfortunate that Mephistophelian minds parading themselves as oppositions in Osun are ignorant of how WAEC rates State performance in a particular year.

He elucidates further that the 29th position being circulated by some unreasonable elements in PDP was cropped from the previous performance announced yesteryear.

According to Drinosblog reports, "I know members of the opposition party to be set of vexatious alarmists but I have never imagined they could diminish an official system of education rating to a mere beer parlour rumour." Alabi submitted.

"Everybody in Nigeria is aware of the fact that WAEC rating comes out every October and we are still in July which is 3 months away from October. Then the moral question is where did PDP extract its own rating?"

"I think those who pegged Osun performance at 29th are under the influence of alcohol, because I don't know how someone would rush in pell-mell to announce October rating in July." Alabi submitted.

He assures the visiting loyalists that Osun SSCE performance this year as being discussed by teachers, students and parents is better compared to those of yesteryears.

He briefly reminds them of how Aregbesola has moved Osun education from its nightmares to an incredible position with huge investment on infrastructure and commendable effort in the revitalisation of all academic contents.

According to reports reaching DRINOSBLOG, Alabi said, insinuation has it that Osun is likely to be among top 10 when the official rating comes out in October 2017.

He advises that all PDP stories should be treated as rumour and be trashed in recycling bin.

German Ambassador to Nigeria, Bernhard Schlagheck, yesterday, declared his country’s readiness to support a more united and prosperous Nigeria devoid of wrangling.

Report reaching DRINOSBLOG said,Schlagheck spoke during an interactive session with the leadership of the Enugu state chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, in Enugu, yesterday.

The ambassador also said the Federal Republic of Germany had confidence in Nigeria’s ability to deal decently with the call for the restructuring of the country for a more equitable nation. He, therefore, advised all parties to respect the constitution and territorial integrity of the country.

“We are very much interested in seeing a decent constitutional process and plead with all stakeholders to respect the Nigerian Constitution and territorial integrity.

“I am quite confident that the Nigerian people and their representatives in the parliament will take appropriate steps to make the restructuring process successful for the people of Nigeria.

Let all stakeholders abide by the constitution and bring in what they have to say in the discussion process and make Nigeria better, prosperous and more successful,” he said.

According to DRINOSBLOG reporters, Schlagheck said his country was concerned about effects of the agitations in parts of the country on 2019 elections and beyond.

Responding, President of the state chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chidozie Ogbonna, said the agitations from the South-east arose out of the feeling of marginalisation. He said the main purpose for the agitation was to secure a better condition for the people of the area in a united Nigeria.

Ogbonna said the clamour for the restructuring of the country had become a national discourse and imperative to give all sections of the country equal sense of belonging. The Igbo leader expressed the hope that all issues relating to the restructuring of the country are sorted out before the 2019 general elections.

He described the current administration at the federal level as a product of the yearnings for change by Nigerians, adding that much needed to be done to keep the people together. “The type of federation we run in Nigeria is not like others elsewhere in the world.

We have to do away with the feelings of injustice in the country,” he said. Restructuring advocates as losers In a related development, the Country Director, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in South Sudan, Prof. Kamil Kayode Kamaldeen, has said Nigerian politicians clamouring for restructuring, lost out in elections and power play, describing their actions as “a great disservice.” to the country.

He described the agitation as “a mere expression” that came because some of its proponents lost out in power play and employed the means to ventilate their grievances. This is even as a don with the Virginia University, USA, Prof. Zacheaus Ogunnnika, warned that “intellectuals are using ethnicity to divide us,” saying embarking on such restructuring “would fail like previous ones in the past.”

The duo spoke to journalists in Ilorin on the sidelines of their lectures delivered at the 8th International Students’ Day organised by Centre for International Education, University of Ilorin. Kamaldeen whose lecture was titled “Oh, Waiting for Africa,” said, the current agitation was not alien to the country as it had undergone series of it in the past.

According to DRINOSBLOG reporters, He said it would be a “disservice” to agitate for restructuring when a politician was defeated in an election or lost out in power play.

The diplomat explained that genuine call for restructuring must come through collective resolution of all Nigerians, contrary to the agitation in some quarters, just as he added that the future of a country is not built on the basis of hunch.

“I think anybody can call for restructuring, which is not a problem. It becomes problematic if we don’t know what restructuring should give us. I think there was restructuring in the first republic, and ever since, Nigeria has been restructuring. And there has, still been more agitation of restructuring.

Restructuring cannot be that when you lose election, then you go and agitate for restructuring, which is a disservice. Also speaking, Ogunnnika said Nigerian intellectuals “of today are using the wrong binocular to look at what is wrong with Nigeria and Africa.”

The university teacher, who spoke on the topic “Intellectuals and Community Development,” regretted that “Nigeria started witnessing relative depreciation when our own people started ruling us.

” Ogunnika, who blamed those he described as Nigerian intellectuals of today, including his colleagues in the university system, for the problem bedevilling the country, said “our intellectuals are using ethnicity to divide us so that they can have maximum rule over you.”

According to DRINOSBLOG source, In a message, Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, noted that though “the impact of colonialism still reflects in our national lives,” it was high time Nigeria and Africa stopped “lamenting how Europe Underdeveloped Africa.”

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Technology, Prof. Gabriel Olatunji, the VC said, rather, African leaders must rise to the challenge of developing Africa by exploring the potentials abound in the various countries and continent.

In his remarks, the Director, Centre for International Education, University of Ilorin, Prof. Mohammed Ibrahim, expressed satisfaction that foreign students in the institution had improved signifi cantly over the previous years, saying they were able to blend through acculturation.

Earlier in his welcome address, President of the International Students of the institution, Kaba Musa, enjoined the university authority to address the problem of inadequate hostel accommodation and hike in tuition fees which he said, were making learning difficult for them in Nigeria.
