But I am filling my DS-160 now to enable get a date for interview! But need someone to guide me on some part of the DS-160 forms. Please can I PM you?

just make sure you have sevis payment reciept 3 working days before your interview

I can’t see any date in Lagos shows me nothing but for a lot of people shows jan 2022
But in Abuja I’m seeing October 5th 2021

And there are some people that are not even seeing any dates at all
So are we plenty
Don’t book an emergency date if it’s not 60 days from your program start date they would reject it

I paid my visa fee since last month beginning and I haven’t seen date
Let’s hope dates pop up this new month
And by the way fall 2021 students are meant to be in the embassy from like April ending so there’s still time in a way

Can we create a community/group just for our fellow people struggling with this same issue....at least, so we can notify ourselves on time.

Because, as soon as they open more slots...the next 30 minutes will be a matter of life and death.

omo nobody can help any one in this situation it’s just hope that the embassy opens more dates or you book emergency appointment when it’s 60 days to your program to get a closer date

Is it advisable to book the emergency appointment now, because I have a feeling that there would be too many people if I wait for that 60 days.

Because my school just sent my I-20 last week and I am sure other schools haven't sent theirs...

It's like I am the only one with this issue and I don't know the jazz you people used for this thing because I did all the necessary applications ASAP

Please try to schedule your visa interview as fast as you can.I think 120 days before earliest resumption on your I20.

Although I am checking the appointment portal 3x daily, any fall 2021 student that is able to get an appointment at the right time should please let us know when & how they did it

Thanks for the response. I am Mechanical PhD. My dept in OSU have accepted me and even organised a webinar where they sent me $25 meal ticket BUT I am yet to receive any formal admission letter stating funding (as they subtlely promised).....I guess I should wait till "end of March" just as you said for your dept.

The resolution on Council of Graduate schools has an April 15th deadline so I believe all of us should get feedback on/before that date, hopefully.

I just sent a mail to GC of Pittsburgh(rolling) and another. They said my application is still under review (but I am not too trusting). I guess I keep my fingers crossed.

Hopefully, they'll keep to the April 15th deadline, because the pandemic really slowed a lot of schools down.

I don't think they they'll lie that your application is still under review though... from what I have seen, most people haven't gotten admitted for the Fall semester, especially if the school has a high number of applicants.

and I still guess it's early to start sending out applications because, you are not meant to get your visa until up to 120 days before school starts...and it's about 160 days at the moment...we should be patient and hope for the best.



...about the admission letter, I don't think you have any problem since they said they've accepted you. You can also check the application portal and see if there's anything like accepted there (to ease your mind). The formal letter isn't totally important, the VO might not ask for it....You can always send a reminder email to your department about it in about a month to your interview date and tell them about the urgent need. Worst comes to worst, you can print the email that shows you have been accepted & your funding...your I-20 should have all this information though.

At a graduate level, the admission decision in most schools are done by the department...so, someone else in those schools could have gotten a decision if they are not in your department.

My department in OSU (computer) said "by the end of march", haven't gotten anything yet.

You should also check the type of admission decision your school/program does (rolling based or a regular admission decision)...this matters as well.

Another option is to send a mail to the Graduate coordinator for your department, you should find a contact on your school's website and they tend to answer on time.

For informative purposes, do you know why you can't pay the SEVIS fee from Nigeria? Has it always been like this, because it doesn't seem to make any sense

the only way for you to know next available dates is by checking your CGI Account
But don’t spam the site checking plenty times a day at least twice or three times a day with intervals if not they would block you out for 72 hours

If I may ask, how can I know when new interview dates are available? It's not like the embassy would send notifications to everybody that new dates are available and I don't really know anybody else applying for an F1 visa.

Because next month is a really really short time (in visa appointment wait time at least), and the people that have interviews next month should already know themselves.

Do you have a source for this? maybe on their website or something, because I called their help desk yesterday and what they told me is that everyone gets only 1 emergency appointment request.

Hello everyone,

First time here and I'm having a bit of an issue with my visa appointment date. I have all the required documents, the start date on my I20 is for August ending (this year) and I picked the closest available date which was for January 2022.... Ha!

I went through their website and the only solution is to book an emergency appointment (which I do not qualify for because it is not within 60 days of my program start date), and I do not want to wait until June ending to book emergency appointment, because it might be harder to get it then and I also want to start making travel arrangements now, because if I wait, my accommodation and flight ticket would be more expensive.

Any advice?

is it possible to request another emergency appointment if my original appointment was denied and I pay another 160$

You can request an emergency appointment once with a visa fee. But even if you are denied the request, you will still have ur regular appointment and you can still reschedule as usual
