drered: Don't be daft. Nobody was on those machines before they went on strike? + Consultant doctors are supposed to maintain status quo pending their court case with PCN so why can't fresh patients be placed on life support? |
drered: Don't be daft. Nobody was on those machines before they went on strike? + Consultant doctors are supposed to maintain status quo pending their court case with PCN so why can't fresh patients be placed on life support?me a daft? At least its good u admitted managing patients on life support isn't d kids JOHESU play. But d issue of fresh patients being placed on life support doesn't come to play here, consultants will merely manage those already in d delimna before onset of strike.. |
drered: So the diesel keeping patients on life support is a waste? You really are concerned sir!O boy, abeg when did Johesuite start keeping patients on life support machines in d absence of doctors' orders? |
hmm.... diaris goodu oo! |
Thou have not seeneth anything...

The last picture captures d drivers of d buses in uniform. |
Celebration galore it was at d Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in d city of Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun on Friday 18th July, 2014 as Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola commissioned fifty scholar buses for schools in the state. The event was attended by prominent people in d state, politicians, members of various societies nd above all pupils in Elementary, Middle nd High schools who re d main beneficiaries of the scheme. The gubernatorial election holds on August 9 nd d main candidates re Rauf Aregbesola of ACN nd Iyiola Omisore of PDP.

This is mere propaganda nd only d gullible will fall for it. Physiotherapists attending to patients as if they are d primary owners of d patients, these re patients referred to them by doctors nd they usually visit on outpatient basis(from their homes) during d day time. But who re those treating those said to be on d wards, d nurses? d op is a joker!! I'm pretty sure hardly will any patient remain on d wards except maybe some doctors re secretly visiting wch is a usual thing in strikes or maybe d orthopedic patients too who re actually stable but for some tractions on their limbs.. The scenes in hospitals during strike actions in virtually all hospitals is nurses, lab scientists etc all being in their respective posts doing nothing nd conserving fuel at nights during power outage is almost a norm in most hospitals. |
i already knew dt Belgium is a fertile land for Islam coz an appreciable number of Belgian footballers playing in d EPL re Muslims. Fellaini, Chadli, Musa Dembele, Januzai re all muslims. |
drered: Lol. Pharmacists go to school to learn how to follow your orders? Loooool.. So what orders do you give academic pharmacists, industrial pharmacists, compounding pharmacists, drug information pharmacists, infectious disease pharmacists, nuclear pharmacists, regulatory pharmacists and public health service pharmacists?Hope u avnt got any delusonal problem, did i quote any post relating to d pharmacists? Chai na wa o, defending a profession in d absence of an identifiable inciting stimulus is an hallmark of inferior mentality complex.. |
hybridtm: why so much hate for doctors,in dis country. we just lost a classmate in biochemistry dept, in UNIBEN ....wen we took him 2 UBTH the doctors were on strike and...sincerely the nurses were confused on wat 2 do.They re only trained in carrying out plans documented by doctors, it is amazing they re now challenging d docotrs from whom plans they acquire their clinical knowledge.. |
Aguero is a flop in ds worldcup... |
NMA doctors, abeg no call off strike o, u too must chop from d nation cake... |
Eretare: You quoted Florence Nightingales' dispute with the doctors during the Crimean war. What you failed to mention was that the morbidity and mortality in her wards were worse than those of the untreated patients. Read about her properly and you'd find out that the Crimean war was her biggest failure. It was so bad that she refused to leave her home post-war.Wow, ds part wont favour d line of d op's argument. U don spoil market o coz Nightingale is d mother of d nursing profession!! Op!! Plz go edit ur original post nd inject d truth.. |
agabaI23: genitalsU've done well indeed... |
azimibraun: The only disagreement I have with this write is the fact tha, he doesn't understand why the Doctors want to be incharge. If doctors don't manage the hospitals as chief Medical directors(cmd) how does he want them to raise money for the political ambitions and plans of owning big churches? The Doctor needs to have a budget and award contracts to make money and become a Senator, Governor, House member and General Overseer. Check the Nigerian senate and various churches and private hospitals and u wll understand what am talking about.what part of d body does a man use in reasoning: a)anus b)skin c)tongue d)genitals |
With all due respect,a medical doctor's line of duty can never be threatened by a nurse, what do nurses know ?A nurse is only there to carry out d plans documented by d doctor, their job is just to execute d doctors' order, so i don't see any threat to d line of profession of a magistrate who sentences by d prison officials who carries out d order. As such, d little clinical experience re only derived when carrying out d docs' plan of management, so they then get to learn different lines of management of various health conditions from d docs' documentation, they av no formal training. Nursing students ain't taught ow to examine patients nd neither do they acquire skills of diagnosing in school (who will even teach them when even d qualified nurses don't know it coz it isn't required to discharge their duties), so i then begin to wonder if it is even appropriate for nurses to establish coz they don't av d formal training to manage patients.. In fact it is funny nd i see it abnormal also coz once a nurse graduates from school wt a degree (Bnsc or so), she doesnt require any further education to get promotion to d highest nursing rank, she/he just sits carrying out docs' plan nd promotion keeps coming wt years spent. This is absurd.. |
Akadile: It's obvious the writer is biased. STRIKE IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT UNDERSTANDS. At least, the writer accepts that Government is notorious for not honoring agreements. So, how will one get them to listen? People always quote the Hippocratic oath against Doctors but I tell you that if when that oath was written, that Drs knew that their wages will be owed, that the privileges accorded to only Dr then will later be accorded to other non -Drsby a visionless govt like ours, then there must have been a provisor or an escape clause. ASUU was on strike for 6 months in order to get the govt to listen & no one is talking about it. Drs go on strike after ultimatums, warning strike etc & people are blaming Drs. Maybe the writer should tell us how to get the govt to listen; maybe by witchcraft. I pity the public bc they don't understand the gravity of the situation, bc if they do, they should rise up against the govt. This act of govt is making merit pave way for mediocrity & remember that they don't seek healthcare inside Nigeria. So if the health sector is filled with titled mediocres, I wonder who suffers. Most commenters on this strike Though not all HATE Drs & that is why you will see many insensitive comments against Drs. Remember Drs have families, have responsibilities like every other Nigerian living in this harsh environment.well said. The populace always hides under d Hippocratic oath when agonizing d actions of d doctors. DO NO HARM is d first oath. What people want is dt doctors sudnt harm d masses but don't care if they harm themselves. Surrendering d leadership role in d health sector to other health care workers who really re supporting staff is an non-forgivable harm to d d profession itself nd history will always remember d administration dt dashes it out.. |
There re many pharmacists, nurses , medical lab scientists some I know personally dt go back to school after their first degree to pursue a degree in Medicine and Surgery, I even know of a 40year old pharmacist presently in 500L medicine. So any JOHESUite dt has d ambition of leading d medical team sud follow suit, SIMPLE!!! One thing for sure dt I know is dt JOHESU can NEVER win ds battle even if they go beyond recruiting cleaners, messengers, portals, cashier nd start incorporating d bodies in d morgues in their deceitful union ... |
jauntty: We hope the strike end soon.......However, I do not like the way FG is handling this matter. This is not just NMA vs FG , neither is it JOHESU vs FG, Its more of NMA vs JOHESU vs FG, and any solution that doesn't bring these 3 groups to a round table might not be long lasting. E.g. If FG agrees with NMA and stop Consultancy status for others, JOHESU will declare their own Strike. My advice is that we should avoid these sentimental and myopic views about these issues and ask our selves this question : What is the healthcare system and structures like in developed countriesU re right chief, but help us tell d JOHESU dt wen they re going on strike, they sud do so d way d NMA does, just take ur personal properties nd leave d hospital, nd then we see if d hospital won't run without them. What they do is to lock all d hospital equipments up, lock doors nd run away wt d keys. Some would even stay by d hospital gate especially d nurses secretly nd stylishly sending patients back home before they enter d hospital. Cowards!!! |
youngRx: yeah dey r support staff....dat means u know doctors need suport and any one who needs support CAN NEVER walk alone. stop mking it sound like whats happening now wil not happen if JOHESU were to embark on a total n nationwide strike like ur callous fellows....the butchers in lab coatU re wrong, very wrong. Without d support staff, doctors will still walk coz there re doctors specializing in virtually all aspects of medicine be it d labs, pharmacy, radiiology, mortuary etc. The non-doctor health workers re aware of this nd dts y they incorporate d record officers, accountants, cleaners etc because they know they re dispensable. Let only d core non-medical doctor health workers viz nurses, medical lab scientists, pharmacists, physiotherapists solely go on strike nd lets see if d hospital won't run... Its even funny coz now dt d doctors re on strike, all these JOHESU ppl re at their respective posts doing nothing... But wen JOHESU strike paralyses d health sector simply coz d record officers nd d cashier etc re involved, doctors re free not to even go to d hospital, dt tells u who d boss is... |
PharmGreg: and hope u knw Biochemist can also specialize there?...yea they could but will be limited coz they have no clinical background.. |
PharmGreg: by specialize do u mean having an Msc?Yes |
Acidosis: Lolll, because you spent few weeks in your 200L physiology lab class doesn't make you superior to someone who spent 5 solid years in the field.I hope u re aware dt d medical lab scientists re already pushing for d BMLS degree to be changed to DMLS (Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science). |
An Analysis of JOHESU (continued): Pharmacists: These professionals are university trained. Unfortunately, in the government sector, their role appears to have been largely limited to procuring, stocking and dispensing of medications. Occasional attempts to involve themselves in patient care is often tainted by the mutual suspicion between them and the clinician (doctor) directly responsible for the patients. The Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) programme is currently the standard in the USA but is under some controversy in Nigeria as other university academics (excluding medical doctors) are unhappy by what appears to be a shortcut to a Ph.D equivalent. Some pharmacists want(ed) to be medical doctors. In some pharmacies, they are already masquerading as doctors. Some are quite satisfied being what they always dreamt of.
...nd doesn't it amaze u when u go to pharmacy stores nd u see a consulting room where pharmacists consult? Only in jokey health sectors like dt of Nigeria does such exist.. No wonder they re agitating for Doctor of Pharmacy degree to legalize their illegalities... |
Acidosis: and when the Pharmacists stop the supply of drugs... I'm sure your privatisation will enable you treat your patient with stethoscope.Guy, plz don't reason wt ur medulla oblongata, a pharmaceutical company is different from a pharmacist who works in an hospital.. |
Enough of all these rantings, JOHESU if u re so sure of ursef nd d relevance of ur discipline, advocate for d privatization of the entire health sector. Let everything be privatized nd everybody in d health sector knows where he/she belongs.. |
Lemme begin wt a question dt usually amazes me? Why on earth will ALL health workers including even cleaners, messangers, record officers etc excluding only d medical dcotors come together to form a union, JOHESU? What are d aims nd objectives of d union? Saying d lab scientists nd radiographers carry out d investigations is not wholly true for there re medical doctors in all aspects of medicine be it d lab, radiology etc even pharmacology dt re specializing there, even the HODs of these lab departments viz chemical pathology, hematology, microbiology, radiology re usually consultant doctors ie experts in these fields. |
I knew right from onset say na just gragra our boys they do, they always succumb..
|
Oduduwaboy: Mueh eh...dont worry my guy! The doctors are well able.omo see fipa... |
