rudedough: He made a mistake and should be corrected not crucified like many of you have done. That couldn't have been a mistake, too gross to be one. |
striker9: Many sick Nigerians like the op voted for Yaya.Plz wats d meaning of op sef? |
Kelvindwaplord: Tecno also released its first tablet in 2013. Tecno phantom pad was released in july 2013 and it was the first tablet ever released by tecno. Featuring an 8inch display , a 1GM ram , 1.2Ghz dual core processor and ran on android 4.2.1 jelly bean version , tecno phantom pad touted itself as one of tecno's powerful machines in 2013.Phantom pad nd Techno A+ have quad core processors. |
pembisco: As a medical student, let try and help in a way i can, thers a test called BMI (Body Mass Index) this will determine weda u need to add weight or notPlz don't blackmail Nigerian medical school wt ds trash. U re surely not a medical student. Medical students re only undergraduates studying Medicine nd Surgery in d universities. U re most likely a student in one schl of health technology or just studying a paramedic course, yet u re a disgrace to Nigeria. BMI is calculated as weight in kg divided by d square of height in meters(wch can neva be 5.6m) Normal value is btw 19 to 24.9 |
chinwekzy: I have been reading your posts silently, and i am sorry to say that i dont think you are a Super Eagles fan talk less of a john mikel obi fan. A true fan can never call his team or favourite player a disgrace when it comes to winning awards. I know that Yaya Toure deserves the award, but i would give anything to see mikel win it. Why? Because i'm a true fan of John OBI Mikel, and that of my country no matter what.At least tnx to u for saying d truth dt Yaya deserves d award but d sentiment in u wont just make u give d honour to whom it is due... |

tall2ce: Mikel and Moses are both a disgrace to Nigeria's football in europe considering the fact that they are highly rated at homeAnd I'm sure if Moses had even made d final list, many of these sentiment-driven sycophants would still canvass for him to win. |
omar22: In six year at Chelsea Mikel has not won Man of the match in any gameThis isn't Mikel's 6th, it is his 9th year or so in d club nd has NEVER been pinpointed as an MVP in a match, nd wth d way he still plays, I don't think he can ever earn it in years to come. Winning MVP is surely one of d factors to consider one as a befitting AFOY, it shows d impact of d player in his team nd his ability of his presence on d pitch to influence victory for his team. |
thegoodjoehunt: You have clearly forgotten Mikel's performance against Barca and Bayern in Chelsea's champions league triumph. So he was d MVP in those matches abi wetin u dey talk? |
An hustler in Europe can't just come home nd rule my dear continent. I hold nothing against anybody. I doubt if he has ever won just a single MVP in any of d matches he has played in England for years. If AFOY isn't for Enyeama, then it belongs to Yaya. |
PurpleHouse: dude!!!!In short, Mikel is d heart if Chelsea. Clap for ursef... I can't just imagine it, CHELSEA'S MIKEL winning AFOY, it will summarize African football as a huge joke nd other African footballers a bunch of jokers.... |
safarigirl: MIKEL OBI. Football is a team sport, not an individual game, hence, I'll pick the one person who can help the cause of the team, not one oversabi. Lamouche had Toure in his team and they were kicked out, Keshi had Mikel and won AFCON. Now answer your question without a biased mind.OMG, see ds human bean dey talk in d garb of sentiments. This is sentiment presented in black nd white. Mikel is even just enjoying ds bit of playing time courtesy of d fact dt Mourinho is d manager. We all know how he faired wt d past Chelsea managers. No manager will ever come to Etihad nd retire Yaya to d bench, a characteristic of an ideal title winner. No reasonable coach will eva choose Mikel over Yaya. My God. The financial value of Mikel can't even be up to Yaya's slashed to two. Abeg let's be realistic now... |
bettermike: If the award is supposed to motivate African players to be outstanding where ever they are, then giving the award to mikel will be a big calamity. Players will no longer see it important to remain first 11. They'll say, "i dont need to work hard. I'll just encourage my teammates from the bench to win trophies and i'll surely become Africa's best"'GBAM!' |
tybank: Man City without Yaya will be a disaster any dayExactly chief. |
You putting Africa first shows you know little about patriotism which is the rational behind my combination. So I will make it simple for you to understand. Am a human being before being a child to my parents(family), before being a citizen of my community, before my local government before my state, before my tribe(Yoruba) before my country (Nigeria), before west africa, before Africa. You putting Africa first goes to show that you will defend the interest of Africa first before that of your immediate family. That is what they call ROOT. When you talk about patriotism, you talk about defending the interest of where u come from "YOUR ROOT". If after this you still maintain your stance then that justifies the last statement in my previous comment but this time around you can remove the last word and put in the first element in the "roots line" I created in the second paragraph of this comment.
U av only succeeded in defining what sentiment is. So u av to consider Mikel for d title just coz u re both Nigerians even if there's a better African dt is more deserving? Well, I'm more open minded nd consider being an African first before Nigeria in continental issues like ds. |
Bonapart: u'r an irritatin individual.....nd u re an irritant. |
As much as you want a good representation for Africa in the presence of the whole, you have forgotten that you are trading your Primary heritage for a secondary one. MEANING irrespective of your "African patriotism, you are first and foremost a NIGERIAN" therefore you should strive to defend your "Primary heritage" before the "Secondary". That would have proven that you are not a tribalist. Mikel might be a bench warmer in europe but you can bet he is the best representation for Africa and Nigeria in terms of contribution to his national team and achievement since Enyeama has being omitted by CAF. FYI I am a Yoruba man before being a Nigerian and a Nigerian before being an African. I DON'T KNOW YOUR OWN COMBINATION?
I have a different combination. In any national affair, I rep Nigeria before I rep Africa for d country deserves good representation in d continent. However, in any affair in which d whole continent is involved, I will consider myself first an African before being a Nigerian because d continent deserves a better representation in d global scene. |

I can't stop laffing after reading ds. He may actually have his facts... |
naija noni: Which one is best XI ??.I watch Chelsea's game regularly nd I see Mikel occupy his regular spot at d kick off in most of the matches, in d tent close to d pitch line marking. Honestly chief, u will just be disturbing ursef refuting d fact dt Mikel is not a bench warmer in Chelsea, all sincerely minded Nigerians know he is. |
naija noni: .Chief abeg stop trying to convince itself. Mikel can never make the best 11 in dt team at least as at ds moment. A deserving player for d title shouldn't just make d first team but also d one of d top players in d team either at home or in his club. If at all a Nigerian deserves d award, it is Enyeama nd not a Chelsea's Mikel. |
never go to any church where there are bouncers jesus never walked around with bouncers and even when he was arrested, he discouraged his followers from fighting these latter day "christians" sef
Jesus also neva used anything equivalent of private jet too |
naija noni: Hmmn u've really been watching chelsea's matches ??.The coach RESTING Mikel U surely typed what u wished. So u mean Mikel's first shirt team is outrightly guaranteed? Sentiment in black and white. |
naija noni: Can u please explain what a "bench-warmer" is ??Any player whose 1st team shirt is not assured is a bench warmer. Don't even go there for u need not disturb urself convincing anyone dt Mikel isn't a bench warmer in his club. In fact, a deserving winner of d CAF title should not even struggle at all to make a first team if really he is dt good to be conferred d feat. Anyway, tell us what he is if he isn't regular prospective 2nd half substitute in Chelsea FC. You may also tell us d position u will afford Mikel if u were to list d best players in Chelsea. I honestly don't have anything against Mikel, but I believe d continent deserves better representation. |
safarigirl: answer this, does it make sense for a striker with just 7 goals for his club this season, to be considered ahead of a record-breaking goalie?(yes, he broke Lille's clean sheet record and has conceded the least goals in the club's history). If NO, then explain the credibility of such an award. If Enyeama wasn't good enough for their top 3, then Yaya shouldn't be good enough to win. Give the wack award to Mikel jare, let's all support sentimental voting since it favors some. Merit my foot.To me, d tussle should be strictly between Yaya nd Enyeama. I was actually expecting Enyeama to win d award. |
striker9: @op,its either your a clown or desperate in need of undue attention, well congrats cause you ve gotten one today.Mikel might no be an outstanding player but bad mouthing and hating on him won't do you and your entire family any good. This is a player that is serving the nation, wearing the green white green jersey just to represent his nation, its obvious you are such an ingrate cause this guy has been the doing the nation proud,I'm sure you were happy when naija won the AFCON.Its such a shame the only thing you could come up with is to open a thread about him, tongue lashed him for doing what he knows how to do best.Mikel has created name for himself, why don't you in your idle time think of how to make name for yourself rather than hating on another man's way of life.Waiting for your reply......................Im a Nigerian nd I hold nothing against Mikel as a player, in fact am a fan esp then when he represented Nigeria in d U21 category in d world cup back in 2005. I just like to be factual. U re right Mikel is doing what he does best, but unfortunately some others re doing it better. Ans ds: does it make sense for a palyer who warms d bench in europe to come to africa nd is crowned d footballer of d year? Pls just YES or NO.. |
obioraop: mikel had a better 2012/ 2013 than any african player ,mikel may not flourish in your said profession but you aint either and believe it or not you wont be fit to lace mikels boot in a million years. Enuf saidyea of course I wont be fit to lace his boot but surely there re other African footballers that will fair better in d said boot. I am not a footballer. |
I'm just amazed why ppl re this much sentimental, its an obvious fact wch requires no lengthy debate. Im sure those dt av commented in favour of Obi so far re just tribalist who re not just Nigerians but hails from d same geographical zone wt d overhyped chelsea player. I pray d plague of tribal sentiment doesnt ruin Africa. I just hope CAF doesnt mock Africa come Jan 9. |
salemdv: If him win am abeg go wrestle am 4rm am. Bad belle wey no fit last 20min ontop pitch.....wch is why I'm not a footballer, and am sure Mikel is also a nuisance in d profession where I flourish. |
