Politics › Re: Churches, Mosques: Buhari, Governors Strike 5-Point Deal by heykims(m): 12:49pm On May 23, 2020
TheEffective:
shocked

A deal with the intent to exterminate the presence of BIG CHURCH. Muslims can easily bend their heads in one small uncompleted mosque in their neighborhood but BIG churches with thousands of worshippers per service will be most affected. A deliberate attempt to reduce the growing influence of churches in Nigeria's discourse.

Christians should avoid this deal. It is either you open worship or don't.

I know some online miscreants will disagree but it's not a problem. We are not on the same thought frequency or IQ.
They don come again, apparently u are the one with low IQ.

acetylcholine:
I don't usually comment but I logged in purposely to reply you and others like you who just conclude without facts.

I am sure no member of your family is a lecturer, if not, you would have seen it on their payslip even before IPPIS matter came up that tax is deducted every month.

A resident doctor said he can cover cross to academics because it is slavery as he earns more than a professor who cannot boast of taking 450k home as salary.

Which other allowances were you referring to? You think this is NNPC or CBN or other agencies that you are given travel allowances etc? As a lecturer, hazard allowance per month is eight hundred and forty one naira(#841), on the payslip before IPPIS. Technologies that fought for theirs we're paid 30k hazard allowance before, but with IPPIS, the government removed hazard allowance and unexplainable deductions NASU, NAAT etc are aggitating against.

Another deduction is NHS, national housing fund which by law is not compulsory. You are a big fool if you think you can continue living in rented apartment and government will someday build house for you.

Also how do you explain the fact that 2 individuals in the same cader and step do not get the same salaries? It is only gullible people FG can decieve that they are saving billions with IPPIS. If they are saving money at all, it is the pay of lecturers unjustly cut.

Lest I forget, I know not less than 2people who do not have a federal government job but received salaries through IPPIS. It is people without brains the government can decieve. Let me rest my case here.
Thanks for the explanation.
But news have been flying around for years that hazard allowance for lecturers is about 30k, is that a lie?
Politics › Re: PDP Rejects Curfew Extension by heykims(m): 7:50am On May 19, 2020
But Buhari in the last nation address did not give expiration date. He said the curfew and interstate lockdown is indefinite.
So either SGF said anything or not, indefinite still never expires.

My point was a reply to your initial post that there are other allowances. Gross means total package including all allowances. Guy, this na primary school thing o.
Mr Academic, u earlier claimed the gross was the take home salary before introduction of IPPIS. That was ur reply by referring to the 4th column when u were asked about salary before IPPIS.

Did you understand the table before commenting? What do you think is the meaning of the fourth column?
So ur point is that the gross should be the take home and no deductions should come in?
I'd expected u to reason better as an academic.

even with allowance, you can gross 100% of your income as allowance maximum few percentage around or about 30% to 40% of your income, can a lecturer whose wife is jobless cope even withis figure, except he resides in gombe or zamfara where everything is super cheap
Why is ur emphasis on lecturers, that's how it is for all civil servants.

Education › Re: The Salary Of A Nigerian Professor After IPPIS (Pictured) by heykims(m): 6:21am On May 19, 2020
You should also tell us the pay before IPPIS. IPPIS didn't cut down salaries but ensures tax, pension and other deductions are optimally removed.
People in academics have been evading tax for years and IPPIS enrolment will break that.
Mind u, civil servants are generally poorly paid not just professors.
Op is also a liar, there are other allowances attached.

semid4lyfe:
From the very beginning, FG held the knife and the yam. They had all your details and the request for VCs to revalidate the BVN of academic staff was merely a courtesy. In the end, FG got their way.

I understand it hurts to be forcefully enrolled onto a platform you didn't voluntary sign up for but your denial is far from the truth.

My wife is an academic staff in the same university as me and using the new CONUASS salary template (from the NSIWC website) and the new tax regime, her salary was calculated and we arrived at the exact figure she was paid yesterday.

For the avoidance of doubt, what was paid to academic staff was February and March Salary with the new minimum wage and 18 - 20% deductions calculated based on the gross salary. The deductions are as follows

1. Pension - 7.5%
2. PAYE Tax - 6% (in my wife's case)
3. National Housing Fund - 2.5%
4. Union Dues - 2%

In the words of Phyno, "obago', e don enter be say e don enter. ASUU has entered IPPIS and can't possibly exit it.

Every other talk on FG committing an illegality, breaching labour laws and worker's trust, dragging FG to court etc is just empty noise and okoto meow.

ASUU should pivot their agitation onto some other areas like payment of minimum wage arrears, revitalization, fulfillment/implementation of previous agreements, earned allowances etc.

In life, you win some and lose some. ASUU has lost this IPPIS battle.
semid4lyfe could benefit from this
