I have not posted in a while but if you have followed my previous posts, you would know that I used to attend Christ Embassy Church, even though I had reservations about some of their teachings. I finally left the church, phew!
I will use this thread to explain why I quit the church and why I may never attend another Pentecostal/Charismatic church which now appears to me like a sole proprietorship, with the General Overseer or lead pastor as the owner.

1. Excessive premium on Giving money

In Christ Embassy the number one thing they lay emphasis on is giving money. The church can use any tactic to get money from members, including manipulation, threats and the likes. While there is nothing wrong with giving money or time, I believe everything should be balanced and moderate. I think that was why St Paul said we should not give out of target, or threat but as we decide in our heart. In CE, there is nothing like moderation or balance when it comes to giving. They tend to believe literally that everything answers to money. You don’t have a job, give and sow seed. You are infertile, give and sow seed. Your father is sick, give and sow seed. Every message ends with a charge to give money. They collect tithes, offerings, partnerships (money), seeds (more money), first fruits (your whole income in January) and plethora of others.

You are also charged to give for Pastor Chris’s birthday and for all the other pastors. And for projects and the likes too.

Before I started worshipping with the Church, I read the story of the account clerk at the Sheraton Hotel who stole from his employers to give to the church. As a member, I could relate with the man. The Church is obsessed with money. They do not mind how or where you get it. If you want to rise or be noticed or win awards, just give big money. It is this obsession with money that led it to start collecting gate fees from members for its New Year Service at the LoveWorld Convocation Arena in Lagos, which ironically was built by the offerings of the members charged to get in. A lot of people I know personally had gone broke, had their businesses ruined, or fallen out with a loved one because of this teaching by the church.

In summary, at CE, money is everything- EVERYTHING.

Bro, well, sometimes, I fear to speak to people on NL else they quickly become atheist, claiming Christians are not loving, but I love you, no hard feelings, but I believe your post has weakened the faith of many and you should always try to guide against that

Whether you like it or not, the holy book of the christians says that women should not be teachers in the church. They can have the gifts of the holy spirit but the teaching office in the church is reserved for men. Women are to be silent in church. 1corinthians 14: 34-35, 1 corinthians 14: 37-38.

I don't care how many female preachers we have today and in the past, the teaching of God's Word in the church is reserved for men. Women may be prophets, healers or whatever but the preaching of God's Word IN THE CHURCH is for the men. How do you know the women teachers are genuine?

Sometimes During my Prayer time (in tongues), I do have some unusual experience, doesnt happen always. And I will like to know whats going on.
After i must have prayed for sometimes, a moment will come when i will felt some kind of weight on my body, in which i do feel in body and in voice. Usally,when praying (with tongue) I do sound like a teenage speaking arabic, but after the strange moment, my voice becomes more deep as if the speech is coming by force out of my mouth. That doesnt stop me from praying though, I still continue till I had enough. But what is strange to me is after such moment I do felt exhausted, even till next day.

Initially I do think am hungry so I eat and drink (even sugary stuff) but still remain the same. Am aware that talking can get you exhausted and am a computer instructor who talks a lot, and drinking water will do, but this is different.

Can anyone relate to that, is it something I should allow or be careful of - Thanks

The devil has always been ruling the earth since the fall of man. As at the beginning, the entire earth was under the control of man as stated in Psalms 115:16, Gen1:26, and Heb2:8. Those verses signifies the whole earth being given to man to control.

Luke4:6, said something quite shocking, the devil saying to Jesus, all the glory of the earth would he give to Jesus only if Jesus bows. It implies that all the glory and goodies of the earth that God gave to Man through Adam, I would say, lot of.things changed between Adam and the fall till date, many of which we might not come to understand. Rev12:12 said something like the devil knows his time is short. After man fell, and became a slave to the devil. I think the greatest sin Adam committed was not eating the fruit, though it was part of it. The greatest sin of Adam is listening and paying attention to a voice that was not the voice of God, when you can clearly tell, "this is not Gods voice.

Mans life might have been a different thing to be spoken about, if everything was just as it was in Eden, God vested all powers to Adam and Adam became a slave when he's expected to play boss. And since Adam played slave, satan became boss and over thrown man, taking authority over man. satan became the ruler of the earth and his time would lapse, just as the right the tenant has over the house remains as long as the tenant is still in possession.

Rev12:12 said, his time is short, actually, that time lapse immediately the world come to an end, but that wouldn't be fair play, just as it is in the time of Noah, many were told about the flood to come, many also must be warned about the danger to come, many places haven't heard the real message of redemption, the message of healing and deliverance from the power of sin and death over man, and after then, we await judgement, the end of satans rule over the earth and Adam rightful termination of right of tenancy on earth. You see it says, He has given the earth

Here you see something strange, I would say, a conversion of ownership from man to the devil, why and how possible is this, when man fell, man lost all power to the devil

Okay, here is Jesus said to have completed what Adam never completed

I intentionally skipped v7, but it still didn't change the expression, in the verse above, you see two things, Jesus being the "Who" we see(v9), and on the other side is, "the man we see not yet all things put under him (Adam didn't complete his assignment in Eden) but Jesus came to be Adam for us.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

And finally, Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The devil has a time on earth, but that time is short, evidently, rapture is the time when Adam naturally would lost His dominion on earth, I mean 100% dominion on earth, and God would take over as the Landlord, as for now, whatever we are doing here on earth, God assumes Adam and the children of Adam are the ones still ruling the earth and He expects that the children of Adam(evidently you and I) man the earth as said in Gen1:26, let them have dominion over the earth.

Finally, seeing that Jesus has defeated the devil and having spoiled principalities and powers. Jesus is always ready to give to the children of Adam who lost their right through Adam, what they lost in Adam, so that by acquiring that which Adam had, they would dominate the earth and fully control the earth at it's fullness.

So if you ask me what does the term Omniscient means on earth and to God. I would say, omniscient is only possible, when we all stand our ground against the devil, by accepting Christ, recognising our authority in God and the full scope of the dominion God gave man in Gen 1:26 and Luke 10:18-19 and using that to attain unto the omniscient state in God, because if you would take this, hold it tight, we are the omniscience traits of God, without us, God can not omniscient anything on earth, never, God won't, do you remember how the Angel held Daniel for 21 days(Daniel 10:12-13), and Daniel prayed and an Angel was released, do you know how Peter was held in prison, in Acts 12:5-7 and an angel was released, because the church prayed. Do you remember how the Apostle were broken out of prison in Acts 5:19. We are the days of Acts where men don't want to pray, but look up to sky and shout, Baba, do something, when they are not saying something, Jesus said ask and you shall receive, you Father knows you have need, but you have to ask, Daniel asked, teamEvans waylaid the Angel, why would they hold an angel, one, this territory does not belong to man, it now belong to satan, so satan has the right to hold anyone who trespasses on the land and do to them what he so pleases, Daniel understood that, he started praying, Angel Gabriel was released. Adam named all the creatures and was having a good time with Eve and other animals in the world, and there was no errors.

Errors came through the devil who capitalised on the fruit man ate which he ate at an unexpected time, despite the fact that God warned man and evidently Adam has been empowered to overcome the devil. Adam just decided to fail to use that power.

Error came through the devil and God has given us Jesus to correct the error, but we still need to develop intimacy and pray that those masterminding this errors also come to the knowledge of the truth.

If you are really serious, we can talk later, but many times, I like it when one has accurate understanding of what they desire. Yea, I would say, get up to 20 PDFs by Kenneth Hagin and let's start from there, yea, I expect you to read them of course, most of his books are 39pages, at least you should be able to read 5 a day, and you should be done in a day, I would follow you, kindly follow back thanks. But, I would advise and I think that's the important thing, get a spirit filled church to attend which is Bible based if you can
