Hi brother,
I don't know who you are by this moniker...but I am the former "MzLady39" and I appreciate you mentioning me here. That moniker is deactivated and I only go by this one Ngo/40 now.
I may make a comment in the future regarding my testimony regarding surrender to Christ Jesus...and about my belief on the Holy Spirit's role in a follower of Christ' life.
It will come at the right time smiley
I gathered resourceful personnel who are most likely to add to the topic.

I would call it research, a little here, a little there

I don't know most of this monikers I mentioned as in read their chat before creating this thread.

All I did was review some former threads that were related to this thread, bring those who had a genuine experience, bring them together to contribute on this thread. Like I said, its research, little here, little there and all you do is Ctrl P and voila, we have a project.

I can't remember vividly, but he told me to "Receive".

and No, I was not told what to say, I didn't repeat anything.

The Spirit gave the utterance and I did the speaking. The flow comes by faith as you release your tongue.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Processes and experiences may differ, but the result will always be the same as long as it is built upon Acts 2:4 (above) and Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

No fake baptism of the Holy Ghost, if it is the Holy Ghost baptism you asked for then that is what you will get. Sometimes, people may be scared of getting fake but there's no fake.

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

People can only feign to have received while they have not.

Like I mentioned earlier, tongues is the initial evidence. With time comes power (the ability to do) according to Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Also, one who is filled will start manifesting Christlike attributes, if diligent. Acts 11 explains this.

People who feel the need to wait long simply need to be taught. Teachers according to Eph 4:11 have this responsibility.
Paul, Cornelius' household and present day examples prove that we can filled once/immediately the desire is there. (of course, Born Again).

Glory to Jesus!

This thread is one that I just was inspired to write. When we look around Christianity. We see differing view about what Baptism of the Holy Spirit is. Please do not comment as though you have experienced the baptism. Your questions about this subject are welcome and peradventure you are interested in the baptism, kindly follow or mention one of the names below in the comment section.

We advise that you do not give a misguided view about what you feel the subject should be about. Thanks

P.S. I said testimony not assumption. Thanks

Scriptural reference for personal research

First, you need to understand God promised the disciples the baptism, evidently all Christians. So, the moment you are born again, you have every right to partake of this glorious inheritance.

These verses gives us a picture of it in the old testament Exodus 11:24-27, 1 samuel 19:18-24 and Joel2:28-31

These verses shows us what's Gods promise to them who would believe. Matthew 3:11,

John 14:26-(note this words in this verses- teach you all things-future past and present; bring all things to your remembrance-past ),

John 16:13(guide you into all truth-present, past and future; show you things to come-futurisitic).

Other verses are Acts 1:5, Acts1:8,

Biblical ways to receive the baptism

Acts 2:2-4(they received it while praying),

Acts 8:14-17(laying of hands) notice they have been baptised yet not one single of those that did water baptism received the baptism until the coming of Peter and John v12-13, and v16

Acts 10:44-48(they received it) notice they have not done water baptism v47-48

Acts 19:1-7(laying on of hand, note they were evangelist, evidently born again, but yet they were not endewed yet. They preached John the Baptist: they were baptised by water yet they do not have this experience)

For more references see Romans 8:26-27, Jude 1:20, lemme shock you, do you know the Holy Spirit through Paul commands that we should not forbid to speak in tongues-1 corin 14:39, now here is my problem with many people, they say all sort of thing, this and that, now, if I asked nicely, if you were interested and you feel I was forcing you to say some gibberish that I mutter to you and you mutter the same back to me, then you know its fake, but if you happen to speak it as the spirit direct or gives you utterance, then, you know this thing is real.

At least, Paul said, I speak in tongues more than ye all. All of those tongues couldn't be in the church, and also, if you were in the church, all we want is, do not disturb with your tongue, let it be between you and God. So evidently, if someone happen to teach you those tongues, then, you can pull back immediately, they leave. And by the way, how would you know you are speaking in tongue when there is no one to guide you.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Biblical To Be Baptised By Immersion Twice? by Hier(m): 8:01am On Jul 24, 2017
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism is symbolic of our repentance. Baptism is a picture of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. If you do 50 times, Heaven is only interested in seeing a holy man not living after the flesh.

But I would advise you ask or seek for the fresh baptism and infilling of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:5 Matthew 3:11

Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

see Acts 19:1-7. One of the benefits of baptism of the Holy Spirit is, you start seeing how real spiritual things are.

An2elect2:
Not really. Faith isn't equal to work. One is borne out of the other. Faith births works. Genuine Faith that is. So if we believe in our hearts, we would confess unto salvation. "unto" does not mean we were saved by by confession/work
I can believe and not confess, like the pagans do and lemme ask? how do you know someone is saved or born again if not that they confessed

An2elect2:
that would contradict Salvation by grace through faith. Rather we were were saved and received eternal life when we believed and then we inevitably confessed our faith. Inshort they happen so simultaneously that we cannot have one without the other But there is sequence. Faith first. Through it is a man saved. "whosoever believes has eternal life"
And whosoever has eternal life will not be mute but must surely confess it out.
Does his non confession even when he believes make him save

An2elect2:
But here is the problem. Many men have not this faith that by itself produces works in a man. And since they have not this faith, they go about establishing their own works and falsely equating it to faith like you just did wink
loooooooool, I would let that slide

An2elect2:
If we won't receive eternal life until we confess then eternal life cannot be a gift but a reward for our righteous choice. But salvation is by grace through faith and this is not our doing but God's
Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish pls I would recommend matt mark Luke and John before that's where life is

An2elect2:
The Bible is very clear about those who draw back, says they were never saved to begin with. This is well detailed in my last thread.
says they were never saved pls explain, with reference pls Well, I would be waiting

An2elect2:
Okay. So you think each time we sin we lose our salvation
ooooooh yessss, he that sinneth is of the devil, you lost it 100%,but we can always have it because it was freely given unto us from Genesis

An2elect2:
and then we have to do something (like coming back to our senses) to get it back but that would contradict the Bible. In the Bible no man was, is and would ever be saved except solely by grace.
Grace, do you know another name for grace is Jesus dying for our sins. That was why the angel at salutation said, hail Mary full(pregnant) of grace(Jesus)Titus2:11 John1:17, 2cor8:9

An2elect2:
Grace means you don't deserve
is it true we do not deservehuh? cause God told satan in Gen3:15, that the seed shall bruise his head. That was as far as the day man fell and you still claim we do not deserve

An2elect2:
to be saved but someone bought your pardon with his blood

[quote author=An2elect2 post=58550842]if you lose it when you sin, we would need another sinless person to shed his blood again and this would be an every minute, hour or day sacrifice, worse than the old covenant. Because without shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin. But thank God we are saved by grace. If we sin we confess to God who gives genuine repentance and turns us away from that lifestyle. Not you, but God does all these things inside of you.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Forever has He perfected our sins, Jesus overcame and made a public show of luIifer and his angels.

Grace is Jesus overcoming and making us to sit far above that at the mention of his name the devil trembles. If the name is that powerful then Jesus does not need to come again, speak in a word, that's case close

well, do you know Jesus must need die Hebrew 2:14-15

An2elect2:
I see what you are doing but my advice to you would be to go to God and he would teach you himself. You won't have to follow your own understanding but rely on Him cos there are so many things God has hidden from the world and only shows those that come with humility
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Lemme just tell you, everything in the Bible that you need is in Matt, Mark, Luke and John, I thought you would understand but I
would explain, everything you need present (Matthew Mark Luke and John) past (Gen to Malachi) future(Acts 2-Revelations) is
in Matthew Mark Luke and John

Can we relate Galatians 6vs 7 with 2cor 5 vs 17
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A man can sow maize, sure he would reap maize Gal6:7

The same man can clear the maize, and start over again,
this time let's say millet 2corin5:17

Assuming there was another farmer who planted millet from the onset, he(2nd farmer) would have a quicker harvest compared to the 1st farmer that planted maizeplantedaize while others are Planting millet. I think think you should like this graphics.

My phones screen is quite bad

reading this should be clearer now

Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his
fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his
fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the
heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man
out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
This should answer your question
Once the tree is good, it becomes good, if the tree
becomes bad, it is totally bad, so you either give
your life to Christ and start living right and God
would see a good tree.

Thank you. The Bible teaches eternal security and is clear about us being saved by grace through faith which is not of ourselves Ephesians 2:8,9.

Here is a short article that is helpful
If we win salvation then its no more by faith.

Faith is by works, we won't receive eternal salvation if we don't confess. Our confession is a work which is also faith

One can draw back in the faith and as a result lose their salvation.
Paul said we are not of them that draws back unto perdition.

1 john 2:1, "this thing I write unto you that you sin not" writing to the saints in the church

Well, I still don't understand the concept behind eternal salvation, but my opinion is, once any1 sin, he's likened to the prodigal son who lost his salvation and his fellowship and he realised that and came back.

I think we need to read more of Matthew, Mark Luke and John and put them first always and not only that, using those four book as a guide in interpreting whatever the Bible state thereafter.
Thanks
