dustmalik: Read the following
What this judgement means is that PDP never had a candidate in the election, due to the emergence of its candidate. In fact, PDP was ineligible for that election. Therefore, it's only logical that the only eligible candidate with the highest votes was Aisha Alhassan.
By the way, even if a rerun was ordered, the PDP would still be ineligible to contest. Was there a prayer to award the MANDATE to the APC. Can't you people read. Tomorrow a lawyer will raise this issue and make all of you look like fools. |

My brother once again quote me the decimation of pdp is not about right or wrong but about power. Who ever Is the northerner buhari will hand over to will not go down well with apc members in the south west. One way to counter their reaction is by ensuring a one dominant party that will leave any region that refuses to go along out in the cold The Northern Govs forum and Area were there when GEJ became president. |
Politics › Re: Taraba Tribunal Verdict: Judicial Double Standard – @countfreemount by hinwazaka: 1:08pm On Nov 08, 2015 |
The illegality being perpetuated by the APC at the tribunals is scandalous. Already we have the case of the former judge for the river state tribunal, who was first bribed, then threatened, after which he was fired. No investigations have been ordered into this allegation. We also have the Yobe REC who was found out to have had a boost to his account, but the story was that he was being framed. But APC have labeled the Rivers state REC a thief, even with no documentative evidence. Fashola didn't sign any cheques even with the website scandal, but DIEZANI is branded a thief. Well, they can continue, they have started annoying bigwigs like Theophilius Danjuma, who is Ishiaku's Godfather. No one steps on this man's toe and gets away with it. |

It's a joint project unlike abacha solo project No region of the country can rule the country by itself alone. Sooner than later arguments and indifferences will erupt and then before you say jack, Buhari's circle of influence and friends will shrink to a few fools. The North can not repeat the past. In a military era, maybe, but in a democratic system, they can not. Especially in this modern day and age. The days of the North are over. Either they play ball, or we will bury them with their wives and children. |

Enifolabi: I don't know why anti-Buhari people are insulting him on the outcome of Taraba election tribunal. The judgement was based on Nigeria constitution and that is what Judiciary is following. We can't remove politics from it because APC is showing PDP how politics should be by using a weak Nigeria constitution. The judgement surprised me but PDP made mistake of not putting her house in order. At least it was not APC that testified against PDP about the conduct of their party primary election in Taraba state. It is only when there is Unity in the house that you can defect enemies from outside. PDP should better wake up and unite before they go into extinction. Did any PDP candidate in Taraba drag Ishiaku and the PDP to court. No, so why should this tribunal sack him. The judgement surprised you, because you know it is illegal and unjust. |

Was is it part of the prayer as in benue state like Taraba state? What was the prayer of the APC lawyers in the Taraba tribunal. Nullification or Nullification + mandate. If father Christmas is in this tribunal, why shouldn't he be in the Benue tribunal as well. |

dantori: Read the judgement of the Benue tribunal, it wasn't Ortom fault that PDP CANDIDATE could not prove his case, is he expecting the Judges to go help him get the PDP register of Ortoms Ward? Read the Taraba judgement, the APC only asked for a nullification of the results, and not to be awarded the mandate. Why didn't the tribunal in Benue, extend the same courtesy to the PDP, that this tribunal did for the APC. Double standards. |

petrelli07: From their arguments the PDP never had a candidate so all the votes acquired well null and void... The only thing to do in that case was to award the next party with the highest votes the certificate of return... FYI even if a rerun took place PDP wouldn't have a candidate.. It was not included in their requests, and so should not have been granted by the courts. If the PDP don't have a candidate for a rerun, all the more better for other smaller parties. The tribunal should have ordered a rerun, according to your analogy. |

nedu666: This election tribunal rulings are a small part in the game towards ensuring the north rules for ever. I have told u guys the rotation of power is dead. The north intends to do 16years on the argument that the south did 16years. Secondly, for Buhari's to be able to hand over to a northerner most likely a Fulani man, most likely el-rural, he needs to ensure the existence of one major party and other smaller parties, that will ensure a consensous candidate being adopted for the presidency just as abacha. All these fighting taking place is not about apc or pdp, it's about the Buhari's, elrufai and the north. If any of you know any top northern just ask him after Buhari's will power come to the south. And wait for his reaction. I tell u the south is in for one hell of a ride. By time buhari is done with pdp, he will face other power blocks in apc That's where he will fail. ABACHA tried the same and we put him in his grave. If the President wants to test his power, then his wife and children should prepare for a life without a head. |

petrelli07: It's shallow... I think you should blame the lawyer of the petitioner not the tribunal judges.. The APC lawyers did not request for the judge to award the mandate of the election to their client, Alhassan. All they requested, was for the elections to be nullified, but the tribunal judges helped them with a bonus, by cancelling the election and awarding the mandate to the APC candidate. |

A brilliant piece once again. Tact and strengthened with cogent questions and points that can not be dismissed. The fact is that PMB has once again returned to his past mistakes, of listening and acting on the advice of a group of sinister individuals, thereby allowing rascality, illegality, madness and Governmental corruption and abuse. There is also the case of Audu and Silva, who are about to abuse the mantra of corruption and change by leading the APC at the state elections in their respective states. At first, we got word that the President had decided to distance himself from Abubakar Audu, due to the corruption allegations hanging around his head, but with enough muscle and influence Audu was able to extract an unbreakable promise from the President to grace the convention, with his presence, slated before the election. The President has started a dangerous game of picking who is guilty and who is not, and if not careful he will blow up the country. The President should retrace his steps and tell his sponsors, they can't have everything for Christmas. |

divinehand2003: The PDP went into the last election with a Commander-In-Chief, C-I-C, who had not developed the “killer instinct” – which often makes the difference between winning and losing. He will watch from the sidelines as a real General leads his troops to battle. As General George Paton, 1885-1945, said before his American troops destroyed the Germans in North Africa, “I feel sorry for the [PDP] already; they will soon taste [APC] firepower and many will not live to tell the story.” Jonathan, a weak leader and “general”, not only led his troops to defeat; he has left them at the mercy of their enemies.
Should Nigerians rejoice? Certainly not. Jonathan also left us with the possibility of a one party nation in a short while. And one-party nations soon degenerate to one-man polity. So we are all in trouble. On the contrary, you will watch the brilliance of GEJ, who knew that true power dictates that you allow your opposition the chance to kill themselves with that weapon they really want, but truly don't need. |

What about the card reader constitution debate. Lagos stands, but Akwa ibom was annulled. We should expect Delta to be cancelled when the judgement date of the APC vs Okowa is fixed. In fact when Dickson and Wada wins, expect the same thing to happen. The Yobe REC who was bribed is still walking free and the govenor still won his case. Dasuki was supposed to travel, but what happened, the DSS ignored the courts ruling and sprung up another bogus case against him. Those advising the President, will be the ones to kill him, just as they did in his first stint. |

GEJ and the PDP could have used the judiciary to sack Fashola and other ACN and CPC governors, during their dispensation, but they didn't. Because they know how power should be handled. Power is a very intoxicating and dangerous drug. Once addicted, the abuser is forever dead. The President and his party is playing right into the hands of the PDP, and they stup1dly don't know it. The portrait of them is being painted as a party that is autocratic, dictatorial, violent, unlawful and dangerously superficial. In 2 years time, when things are no more smooth, when the 8trillion wonder budget is now known as a publicity stunt, when 5k allowance scam is now officially a scam, when oil prices remain at a dangerous level, when all policies of the APC have failed woefully and ministers like Amaechi and Fashola have begun their old tricks, the actions of today will come back to bite them. Because then, BUHARI and his paranoia will go into full effect and he will become another Abacha, that people want gone. Soon and very soon, it will become very dangerous to be an APC supporter
