all happened because they lost the EPL broadcast rights and they also lost the bid because the chief financier (Chief Bode George) had bigger issues(Imprisonment) to deal with at that time.

It's not as a result of poor feasibility study or lack of good management but sole dependence on their chief financier.

humblebee:

see silly jobless Nigerian youths
instead of thinking of what you can invent, you're thrashing your lives away saying rubbish.

@op the question should be, what have you ever invented in your life that's even if you ever thought of inventing any, are inventors not humans like you, cant you invent yourself, just because you have a free space and computer to talk, its so shameful to see some posts here, are inventors super humans, im sure you dont see yourself as smart enough to do that

incase you've not gotten answers to your question

shocked shocked shocked shocked I dont believe this about Tinubu's profile

The brilliance of this young Nigerian showed in his ability to make the honours’ list of Richard Daley College. He subsequently transferred to the Chicago State University, Illinois, graduating with honours in 1979 and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting and Management). During his first year in Chicago State University, young Bola was given the rare privilege to partly teach other students of his Faculty remedial tutorial classes. Most of his colleagues and contemporaries at the university attributed their improved grades to his tutorial lectures.

Throughout his undergraduate years, young Bola was on the Dean’s List and was honoured with the Outstanding Student’s Award, the University Scholar’s Award and the Certificate of Merit in Accounting and Finance. He was also awarded the prestigious Sumna cumlaude for scoring 3.54 out of possible 4.0 GP.

With his successful academic profile, young Bola contested and won his first political election as the President of the Accounting Society of the institution in his final year at the University.

Upon graduation with honours and several awards, Bola Tinubu cut his professional teeth at the American-based Arthur Anderson,

this guy was brilliant in school so if he becomes the president today, i think he's got the brain. im not supporting him tho'. i never knew he's this intelligent, i use to see him as a rascal but i think he's got brains + rascality, this gives him an advantage over most of our politicians, i doubt if most of them didnt performed well in school. i know its not a yardstick for political office performance but it's an added advantage

ILEKE IDI AND EKO ILE

HOPE NOW U AGREE THAT YOUR BOSS HAS USED HIS LOOT TO GET AN AIRLINE?

THIS SETTLES YOUR ARGUMENTS AGAINST SAME LONG TIME AGO

If you govern Lagos state for 8years and you can't own an airline, your parents will disown you out-rightly. besides you need to to be informed, Tinubu was rich before he became the governor, so tell me if you had his kinda wealth before his position would you not grow someday and own an airline? Thank God he's investing it in the country not in Netherland's aviation business.
Politics / Re: Why I Live In Mud House - Justice Mamman Nasir by hollars(m): 9:20am On Nov 15, 2011
living in a mud house is not a proof that he is not corrupt like others, don't get me wrong. im not saying he is corrupt. im only saying, he chose a mud house out of interest and cultural background, does that mean if Oyinlola builds a mud house today, he's humble and not corrupt.
don't be surprised if the man owns a rolls royce. wat about that? he might crave luxurious cars and live in a mud house

mikron:

though we did not score but seriously the team played well. the team showed character. better days ahead

Thank you! obviously the most sensible post on this thread, d eagles played well, had 2 shots hit the woodwork and several shots on target, their keeper was very active and then the Botswana guys didnt even impress me like a team that lost just one game in the qualifiers but yet Nigerians will still say all sort. i wonder if you guys expect the coach to put the ball in the net with his hands.
Fashion / Re: Should You Wear Your Suit With The Label? by hollars(m): 9:23pm On Nov 12, 2011
I have always assumed that it is understood that one is supposed to remove such a label before wearing the suit, Is it or is it not unconscionably tacky to wear the suit with the tag still on it? Because many labels are made of fabric, I think some people are under the impression that they are part of the suit. Perhaps a message to the men would be that labels are a secret best kept between you and your tailor
Family / Re: Man Raises Family Under Lagos Bridge by hollars(m): 9:10pm On Nov 12, 2011
i would have loved to volunteer but im currently not in Lagos, if we try other means and it doesn't work. then i can come up with an alternative. I'll also love to contribute, we can make it a christmas gift for this couple. there are rooms as low as 30,000 naira in the same area he claims his house was demolished i think. with that he can at least stay healthy with his family, a little more cash will help the wife start some street trading and the man can continue searching for a job but most importantly the kids are safer and healthier. A pregnant woman should not be left out in such places, its just too bad.

NAIRALAND CHARITY ORG. doesn't sound bad to me. just saying!

please correct me if im wrong
The lady representing Imo state looks too busty for a runway, just saying!

secondly, i think there's a mix up, the lady wearing that Lagos t-shirt was just testing the shirt she's actually the manicurist. her smile is suspicious, she must have strangled the real contestant in the spa

Politics / Re: US Military To Help Fight Boko Haram by hollars(m): 8:35pm On Nov 12, 2011
as much as i hate to hear about the BH guys doing their thing, i dont think the US military intervention is the best solution, we need to look at the different success they achieved in Iraq and Afghanistan compared to the lives lost. it'll just cause more rift and dissonance.
Jona had better sack the current Minister of defence and get a more experienced person to fill the office, he has failed and should be sacked.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Bostwana - Super Eagles Friendly - (0 - 0) On Sat 12th November 2011 by hollars(m): 6:24pm On Nov 12, 2011
this is the first team ive ever seen with 75%of their players looking heavy with pot-belly, they dont look fit at all and very slow players too. I doubt their competence ooo.

How did this Botswana qualify? i don't get it? being the first team to even qualify is like a mystery to me.

they usually play 9-1-1 formation and take advantage of the few chances they get. NO individual skillful player but their young keeper can jump ooo, way above the woodwork most times

why are they playing this team??no other country??

because this team qualified for AFCoN and we did not, they only lost one match in d qualifiers and conceded just 2 goals

they dont look like a team that will get out of any group though, with this performance,

Politics / Re: Fashola Suspends Lekki Expressway Toll Collection by hollars(m): 1:07pm On Dec 30, 2010
grandstar:

The chinese built a large and solid network of roads using tolls.

For developing countries where resources are scarce and they have competiting uses, tolls may be the best especially where the road in questions will be the types expensive to build and more importantly maintain. We all seem to have forgotten the maintenance aspect.

Other road such as the Shagamu to Benin roads and elsewhere should be privatized since government as admitted they can't maintain it. The cost involved are collosal. Even if they can handle the cost, corruption will make mincemeat of it.

Tolling is best. If what we get is first class roads that are well maintained, what we lose in direct payments we save in wear and tear and our cars, body counts and productivity in business for all involved.

im sure the cost of erecting those toll stations can build an alternative route even if its just 2 lanes each, im not against tolling but there should be provision for an alternate route, longer and rugged, whatever! just provide an alternate route and don't make life difficult for people. it doesnt harm them in any way. the point is, you should not compell everyone to use a particular road because u want to make so much money from a stupid concession,

GAR3TH:

You mean that glorified dual carriage road that was there before. Isn't the lagos-benin road also a dual carriage highway, but look at its condition. The expressway's construction is an overhaul, and not a repair job.

---
Fact is, if you cant afford the tolls, I wonder how you were able to buy a car.

bolded above shows you need to get some rest, the fact that i bought a car doesn't mean i should spend money stupidly. i pay my tax and i need to know what my tax is used for if not for roads, whers is the water, where is the electricity?? so tell me why should i be tolled on a road without an alternative route?
Politics / Re: Fashola Suspends Lekki Expressway Toll Collection by hollars(m): 12:31pm On Dec 30, 2010
the toll would def come after the elections and at that time, u guyz must have joyfully voted Fashola back into power. as much as i want him back, i think this tolling is a bad idea without an alternate road. A tolled road should be a good road with high benefits and maintenance like ever smooth, good, reliable and short while less attention would be paid to the alternate route but still, no tax-cutting government should force people to pay ridiculous toll for a smiple road in the name of concession. I dont live in Lekki but it's not RIGHT.
