PoliticsMr. Common Sense Is Right, After All N50 Popcorn Goes For N1,000 At T by Hollicom(op): 11:32am On Jun 16, 2016
PROBABLY 'COMMON SENSE' SHOULD START FROM AHMADU BELLO WAY,V/I,LAGOS - 'HOW CAN WE LEAD THE POOR WHEN WE FEED FROM THEM?' - BEN MURRAY BRUCE ON THE OUTRAGEOUS PAY OF POLITICIANS.

Businessman and Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, shared this while addressing the problems Nigeria is facing. According to him, since we have some of the highest paid politicians in the world, how can they help the poor when they feed from them rather than find solutions to address the level of poverty in the country?

NB - PLEASE GO BEYOND JUST SOCIAL MEDIA/TV TALKS AND SPEAK, MAKE THESE SENSES AT NASS.

PoliticsOf Land Costing A Whopping 13 Billion Naira. by Hollicom(op): 5:53am On Jun 15, 2016
Is it not totally outlandish for federal government to acquire some hectare of land for a whopping N13b for the purpose of building a so called Maritime University at an obscure village in Okerenkoko, Delta State?

Don't get me wrong, please. I'm not against the idea, what I'm totally opposed to is paying such huge sum for land. The N13b is more than enough to erect all relevant infrastructure for the take off of the university. This is plain corruption. Simple.

The Jonathan's government has been praised for establishing new universities across the country, how much did the federal government pay to acquire those land? I'm very sure nothing was paid to those communities on whose land the campuses were sited and even if compensations were paid it couldn't have been so huge.

Now, how much of the money get to the real owners of the land so acquired? And some people are asking President Buhari to drop corruption case against these individuals who have been found culpable.

This is the reason why development will continue to elude the Niger Delta, I'm sorry for being so blunt.

In most communities in the Niger Delta, they discourage investment by mounting unrealistic monetary demands on people bringing development.

When those to build the infrastructure come, it's another round of demand on the contractors or they are threatened with kidnap or outrightly disallowed from working.

Government must be resolute in its was against corruption and not allow any ragtag insurgents derail its lofty work.

In a letter to the Ambassador of the United States in Nigeria, James Entwistle, President Buhari conveyed Nigeria’s heartfelt sympathy to President Barrack Obama and the people of United States of America.

The President also assured the United States of Nigeria’s continued support and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

“President Buhari extends his most sincere condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the victims.

“The President condemns such criminal, cowardly attack, wherever it might occur, as an attack on all decent, democratic, peaceful people.

“Every terrorist attack only strengthens Nigeria’s resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the United States and other countries in the frontline of the war on terror,” the letter, which was signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari read.

President Buhari also called “on all peace-loving nations to commit themselves whole-heartedly to multilateral cooperation and collaborative actions aimed at eradicating the scourge of international terrorism.”

CelebritiesDo You Believe This - "No More Lagos Burial For Henrietta Kosoko As Family Doe by Hollicom(op): 2:53pm On Jun 13, 2016
These are not good times for Prince Jide Kosoko, he needs our prayers to be able to manage the issues that are facing him from his late wife's family. The funeral of late Henrietta Emumeakpor-Kosoko slated for Regina Mundi, Mushin, Lagos has been suspended according to reports.

Also, her remains will also not be buried in Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos as earlier released planned.

According to a member of the burial committee who spoke to encomium, under the condition of anonymity, the reason for the cancellation of the Lagos funeral arrangement was not unconnected with the fact that Henrietta’s family from Delta state insisted that their daughter must not be buried outside.

“It’s true that Henrietta’s remains will no longer be buried in Lagos. Her siblings and other members of her family have insisted they’re not burying her in Lagos as earlier planned by Jide Kosoko.

"Henrietta is Urhobo woman from Delta state, where they cherish their culture. Jide Kosoko didn’t go to her family house in Delta to pay her dowry,’ the source added. What happens next? We're watching.

PoliticsOf Imbeciles, Dunces, Dolts And The Nigerian Variants. by Hollicom(op): 11:35am On Jun 11, 2016
It's no news anymore that Buhari is in London, UK to fix a health issue. What's news however is how much they have charged Nigeria under a week to treat him! According to the figures being bandied and trending on many Facebook threads, Buhari's treatment cost Nigeria £50 million! I read one earlier claiming £6 million but my good Lord how can so many people in Nigeria be so imbecilely inclined?!

Even if Buhari's vital body organs like kidneys, eyes, lungs, liver, pancreas, hip disc, etc had been harvested and replaced with brand-new ones, how can anyone still with their senses believe such nonsense as a £50 million charge?!

In Psychology slowpoke means a person of the second order in a former and discarded classification of mental retardation, above the level of idiocy, having a mental age of seven or eight years and an intelligence quotient of 25 to 50...!

I would bet most Nigerians, for whatever bizarre reasons but relating to the loss of Jonathan at the last Presidential polls have (geometrically) relapsed into mental feebleness and incapacity. I read these phantasmagoric news on the threads of die-hard Jonathan-dolts and I am not surprised. There is an affliction that have pervaded their ranks. If not so, how can a man of over 60 years old, a graduate, married with many children and lives in Port-Harcourt make a comment like this: "£50 million for one ear, more are coming!" (Emphasis mine).

Is something not really wrong when, because of one bumbling ex-President, Doctors, Engineers, Prelates, Parsons, Elders, women, men allow themselves to be accursed?!
Foreign AffairsNever Say Never Until The Bones Are Rotten. Hillary Clinton. by Hollicom(op): 8:43am On Jun 09, 2016
Never give up as Sen. Mrs Clinton never did. She fought on and overcame her disappointment, failures and challenges even after she and her husband been BETRAYED by close and trusted associates even lied again but this Falcon puts this behind her to make a comeback.

Hillary Clinton's Remarkable Comeback
Her journey to the Democratic nomination is one of the most improbable political turnarounds of recent years.

Subscribe to The Edge, a daily roundup of ideas and events in American politics.

Hillary Clinton has now secured the Democratic nomination for president. Because she was the front-runner, because she represents the establishment, because she has been around forever, we forget how remarkable a story that is.

I’m not talking about her gender. In purely political terms, Clinton’s victory—after losing the Democratic nomination in 2008—constitutes the greatest comeback by a presidential candidate since Richard Nixon won the Republican nomination in 1968, after losing the presidential election of 1960.

Many forget how devastating Clinton’s 2008 loss was. Over the course of the campaign, her party’s most powerful leaders—people she had worked with for decades—betrayed her. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid sought out Barack Obama and secretly urged him to challenge her. Former Senator Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who according to John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s Game Change, considered Clinton an “icy prima donna,” did as well. Chuck Schumer publicly endorsed Clinton; as her fellow senator from New York, he had to. But he also privately urged Obama to run. West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller, an old ally from Clinton’s health-care fight, endorsed Obama and said he was doing it for his kids.

Ted Kennedy endorsed Obama publicly, despite being repeatedly begged not to by Bill Clinton. So did Representative Lois Capps, even though Bill had campaigned for her, spoken at her late husband’s funeral, and employed her daughter at the White House. Bill had also employed former Energy Secretary and U.N. Ambassador Bill Richardson. Nonetheless, Richardson—who ran himself in 2008—made a deal to send his supporters to Obama if he failed to meet the delegate threshold at individual Iowa caucus sites. He did so, according to Heilemann and Halperin, despite having promised the Clintons he would not. James Carville dubbed him “Judas.”

That wasn’t even the worst of it. Civil-rights legend John Lewis endorsed Clinton and then rescinded his endorsement to support Obama. Claire McCaskill betrayed the Clintons twice. They had campaigned hard for McCaskill when she sought a Missouri Senate seat in 2006. Then, that fall, she publicly declared that “I don’t want my daughter near” Bill. McCaskill assuaged the Clintons’ fury with an emotional apology to Bill. Then, in January 2008, she became the first female senator to endorse Obama.

In retrospect, it seems obvious that Hillary Clinton emerged from her 2008 defeat to become the front-runner in 2016. But at the time, it wasn’t obvious at all. Once a generational succession takes place in presidential politics, as happened when Obama beat Clinton, the older generation generally fades away. “Are the lights finally going out on the Clinton era?” asked The Guardian after Clinton conceded defeat. Gawker declared, “The Clinton era has ended.” Noting that Ted Kennedy, after losing to Jimmy Carter in 1980, committed himself to the Senate and never sought the presidency again, The Washington Post in May 2008 reported, “Many Democrats are now pointing to the Kennedy model as a path for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.” When Clinton accepted the job as Obama’s secretary of state, a former aide told The New York Times: “There’s a very small chance that she could run again. You’re not going to be the president, so you want to make sure your next few years, which may be your last in public life, really make a mark.”

#NIGERIA HAS THE HIGHEST-PAID GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN THE WORLD.£250MILLION GIVEN BY BRITAIN TO THE NIGERIAN PRESIDENT WITH FIVE HOMES WHO SENDS HIS DAUGHTER TO A £26,000-A-YEAR ENGLISH SCHOOL
09-05-2016

The presence of Nigeria’s president at David Cameron’s anti-corruption summit this week may surprise many in his nation – which receives vast amounts of UK aid.

Self-proclaimed ‘People’s President’ Muhammadu Buhari began a war on corruption after taking power last year, but critics allege it is a political witch-hunt.

The Government is giving nearly £250million in the coming year to oil-rich Nigeria, whose president sends his daughter to a £26,000-a-year English school.

In April the opposition PDP party unearthed a ticket stub showing Hanan, 16, had flown first-class from London to Nigeria, despite her father’s ban on officials using premium travel.

And a Nigerian newspaper claimed Mr Buhari has spent £150,000 on educating his daughter Zahra, a Surrey University student.

The president is reported to have failed to give a full account of his worth, but even his partial admission included more than £1million in the bank, five houses and two plots of land.

Supporters say 49 arrests of members of the previous regime show the anti-corruption war is genuine, but opponents say it is politically driven.

Nigeria has the highest-paid government officials in the world but is one of the largest beneficiaries of UK foreign aid.

The president of its senate, Bukola Saraki, is due to face trial on corruption charges after it emerged he has a £6million London property in his wife’s name.

The Nigerian Embassy did not comment.

POSTERITY WILL JUDGE YOU..................,THE FOOLISHNESS OF NIGER DELTA AVENGERS AND STUPIDITY OF CHEVRON - SAYS PROUDLYNGWA
09-05-2016

On Thursday the fifth of March, Vanguard Nigeria reported that an oil platform belonging to chevron Nigeria was blown up by the Niger Delta Avengers, they promised taking the fight to gbamaturu kingdom, if he didn’t apologize via national dailies, as well as cripple Abuja and Lagos...

Did they stop to THINK:I doubt if the thought their actions through, except they had inside collabo with the Chevron workers, who shut down well heads before their operations, did they think of the immediate environmental effect it will have on their communities, that is if that is their community. Do this people know the byproducts of crude, do they know how the underground water system works?

Their DEMANDS might be Met; but it will take longer for their attack on Nature to wear off, that action was wrong and is highly condemnable.
THE EFFECT ON THE ECONOMY: According to a report, 1.5 billion naira will be lost daily. Will it stop the salaries of the President, Ministers, Governors or Senators?. Primary school teachers in Delta state are allegedly being owed 4 months, why do we always make the mistake that hitting public infrastructure always affects top government officials, it only attracts lip service.

THE MISTAKE OF THE FIRST AMNESTY PROGRAMME: America and Israel have a reason why they don’t negotiate with Terrorist. It never brings positive endings. Giving the militants monetary incentives was the worst mistake by the Nigerian government. WHAT ENCOURAGEMENT ARE YOU GIVING A GRADUATE OF THE SAME STATE WHO CHOSE PEN OVER GUN AND ITS STILL JOBLESS, WHEN A YOUTH LOOKS AT MILITANCY AND EDUCATION WHICH BECOMES MORE ATTRACTIVE? Establishment and empowerment should have been the norm.

THE STUPIDITY OF MULTINATIONAL OIL COMPANIES
My conspiracy Theory: An Igbo adage says, it is the rat in the house that shows the rat from outside the way. Whenever there is vandalization on oil installations, repair contracts are won by the indigeenes, who subcontract the jobs to bigger companies who have these oil workers and some politicians as stakeholders. Tenders are raised and different departments prepare budgets expecting kickbacks, the money goes around………
What stops these companies from taking preventive measures instead of reactive measures? Are we being told that in this period of unrestiveness , such an important platform was left unguarded.
Is the Chevron management telling us, they can’t afford long range night vision cameras with gprs capabilities? Are the oil companies letting us know they can’t employ bunker tactics to protect their installations? Abeg make we hear word. A big shame to CHEVRON TOTAL AGIP MOBIL AND SHELL.

BACKWARD AND INEFFICIENT POLICE: I don’t need to say much , other than Nigeria needs to disband its entire police force and contract policing to either Ghana or anybody else, they are just useless, lack digital footprint, moral bankrupt, embodiment of cluelessness and laziness, and I hope I added useless.

SO CALLED NIGER DELTA YOUTHS: Some of the Niger delta youths and IPOB members are always happy with this sort of news, my advice; see a psychiatrist. Asari, Tompolo, Ateke are millionaires today, you are busy wearing low waist and playing SCORO (Street cult). Your lands are being destroyed by your kinsmen, oil is losing its value as more nations discover crude. You are hailing them to scare investors away. POSTERITY WILL JUDGE YOU.

Lastly I would rather wish topics does not go beyond two pages and have meaningful contributions , than exceed ten pages and be filled with hate speeches, we need solutions n

I can't explain why a group would want a definitively pliable buffoon like Jonathan to have carried on running Nigeria because they perceive the oil that flows beneath our ground belonged to them. Jonathan was from an oil-producing area. Fine. So beginning from Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, if every president Nigeria have had had shared out our collective wealth the way Jonathan directed his 'Man Fridays' to do because of his personal political ambition, what would have happened to our nation?

Buhari want to Saudi to initiate Nigeria into Boko Haram and no body said anything. Stupid news from a stupid news outlet... Ekiti State election had less than 1,000 security forces and we were all out against the last regime.

But Rivers election had about 10,000 security forces and some Buharilized elements are still blaming the rightful people of the State for standing their ground against this executive insanity.

How many security forces were sent or are still operating around the Agatu axis where the terrorist group Fulani Herdsmen (FH) had been destroying lives and properties?

What makes Rivers State more important to Buhari's government than Agatu community? Which is his first obligation under the law, to win Rivers for his party or to protect the lives of properties of the citizens as represented by the Agatu people?

Your hands are filled with the blood of the innocents and there is no country or nation or community that shed blood without facing the consequences.

The only complexity is that a section of the country does not value human lives whereas another section is already shivering on what the future holds for their children because of the ground that is being soaked now with tears and blood of the innocents by the current adult generation.

March 20, 2016

An officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) contracted by Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s minister for Transport has been arrested by detectives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The officer, Mrs. Ekwi Adebisa (pictured), was apprehended with three fake results after vigilant voters raised an alarm at the collation centre of Ward 10, Port Harcourt Local Government Area where she was presiding.

When the voters sighted her with fake result sheets and she was trying to switch the original with the fake to announce the falsified results, the voters raised alarm and prevented her from changing the result sheets.

(ROTIMI AMAECHI (IN PURPLE PLAID/CHECK SHIRT) WITH HEAVY SECURITY AT THE MILE 1 POLICE STATION, PORT HARCOURT ON SUNDAY, MARCH 20, 2016)

Soon after, Rotimi Amaechi stormed the collation centre with soldiers and abducted Mrs. Adebisa from the collation centre at Ward 10 in Port Harcourt. Her abduction suspended the collation of results at the Ward.

According to an inside source who spoke with The Trent, The INEC officer was taken to Novotel Hotel where Amaechi and Dakuku Peterside, the director general of NIMASA, and Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, the managing director of the NDDC were lodged and the plot to doctor the election results for the Ward was perfected.

But, unfortunately for Amaechi, the voters had lodged a complaint with the police over the matter and the police trailed the INEC officer to Novotel Hotel where she was arrested by the Nigerian Police and taken to Mile 1 Police Station in Port Harcourt.

According to citizen reporters at the ward, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mrs. Blessing Asiegbe for the House of Representatives seat had won the election overwhelmingly. However, Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State and chieftain of the APC swore to steal her victory by all means because of a long-standing standoff with her late husband. Mr. Asiegbu.

Mrs. Asiegbu has openly accused Rotimi Amaechi of killing her late husband leading to a bitter rivalry between she and Amaechi.

Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) including the Governor, Nyesom Wike got wind of the the arrest of the compromised INEC officer and visited the police station for explanations.

Immediately, Governor Wike and PDP leaders arrived at the police station, more than 400 soldiers stormed the station in the company of the minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Dakuku Peterside, and Ibim Semenitari and ordered the police to release Mrs. Ekwi Adebisa to them.

The police resisted the order and Mrs. Adebisa, now a suspect of electoral fraud, has been transferred to the Force CID Headquarters of Rivers State for further investigation

PoliticsThe Speaker Of Ondo State House Is Assembly (ODHA) Impeached by Hollicom(op): 9:18am On Mar 09, 2016
The Speaker of Ondo State House is Assembly (ODHA) Impeached.

I'm not really bothered about her impeachment since it's within their purview and constitutional right to do so. But I'm enraged by the reasons alluded for her removal.

Read the statement below credited to one of the members of the Ondo State Assembly.

" We removed her from the office because of her various atrocities, Firstly, we the legislators can't continue anymore with her style of mixing promiscuity and legislative business, her personality have been characterized by many transient sexual relationships within the state and without " .~ Hon. O.G.

Unquote: This is the most absurd reason I've read recently. Just yesterday we celebrated the international Women's Day and the crux of the celebration is EQUALITY between men and women. Impeaching a woman (a grown adult) for "promiscuity" is the height of chauvinism and absurdity taken too far.

So, as a woman, doesn't she have the right to live her life and choose her relationships as long as such does not contradict the constitution and adversely affect her work as speaker of the House? A woman who is not married CANNOT be accused of promiscuity.

How many of those married men in the House keep several concubines and engage in extramarital affairs?

How many of them have children scattered everywhere outside wedlock?

How many of them are engaging in sexual escapades with underage girls?

Has there ever been a case of impeaching a male speaker in Nigeria for involvement in sexual immorality?

Why must different rule by applied to the woman? What is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.

Where is justice and equity in all of these shenanigans? This chauvinistic act as displayed by the members of the Onto State House of Assembly must be stoutly condemned by every right thinking Nigerian bot home and abroad.

Until these questions are adequately answered, the issue of equality and respect for our women will continue to be a mirage.

PoliticsBuhari, APC Duped Nigerians - Fayose by Hollicom(op): 3:46pm On Mar 06, 2016
Buhari, APC duped Nigerians - Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) duped Nigerians by obtaining their votes by trick, declaring that; “Everything Buhari and his party promised Nigerians when they were looking for votes, they have denied and it won’t be a surprise if one day, Buhari comes out to even deny that he was elected on the platform of APC.”

The governor described Buhari’s declaration that he would not pay the N5,000 stipend he promised to unemployed youths in the country and Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s claim that creation of three million jobs per year was not promised by the APC as the peak of political 419 that the President and his party represent.

He said; “They have not fulfilled any of the promises they made to Nigerians. In fact, they have even told us that they never made any promise. It is close to one year that Buhari assumed office; no single job has been created. Instead of the three million jobs per year that they promised, what we have been witnessing is job losses, economic hardship and budget padding”.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was more worrisome that President Buhari always choose foreign lands to make major policy pronouncements, asking whether Buhari has turned himself to Nigeria’s Diaspora or Online President.

Governor Fayose described President Buhari’s declaration of support for Palestine and description of Palestinians as his brothers and sisters that must achieve their desired objectives as a confirmation of the growing suspicion that the President was interested in Nigeria becoming a full Islamic State.

He said; “Even though I am a lover of Muslims, I relate with them as I do with Christians in the State and across the country, but Nigeria must remain secular and a free nation where its citizens proclaim the name of Jesus Christ and Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) freely.”

The governor said the moment President Buhari disowned his own campaign document titled; “My Covenant with Nigerians,” that was circulated to Nigerians during the electioneering campaign and also published in national newspapers and posted online on March 16 and 17, 2015, he knew that Nigerians had been that duped.

“Nigerians have now realised that they are inside a ‘One Chance Bus’ because Buhari and his APC have disowned their entire campaign promises by disowning their campaign document titled; ‘My Covenant with Nigerians.’

“This document that they disowned in August, last year contained everything they promised Nigerians and if today, President Buhari chose faraway Qatar to announce that he won’t pay the N5,000 promised unemployed youths and Lai Mohammed is here in Nigeria saying no job was promised, no one should be surprised.

“Rather, Nigerians can only begin to pray that God, who rescued Daniel from den of lions will rescue us from this Buhari/APC one chance bus that we have entered,” he said.

While insisting that no octogenarian must be allowed to rule Nigeria again, Governor Fayose called on younger generation of Nigerians to take over leadership of the country.

"Our youths should know that it includes their future and should take their destiny into their own hands those who will not take active part in the Nigeria of twenty years to come must not be part of those structuring the future of the country," he said.

PoliticsBuhari Told Egyptians He Wont Devalue Naira;good. But Is He Ready To Take Respon by Hollicom(op): 6:10pm On Feb 21, 2016
BUHARI TOLD EGYPTIANS HE WONT DEVALUE NAIRA;GOOD. BUT IS HE READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ECONOMIC DECISIONS WITHOUT BLAMING JONATHAN?

***If our foreign exchange policy is not reviewed, Naira will slide to N700/$1-Lagos chamber of commerce and industry

***States facing collapse over finances-Gov. Masari(Katsina)

***Against advice of experts both at home and abroad, Buhari will not devalue. Naira is sliding anyway, he has no solution to stop the slide. Experts says to stop the slide you have to delue to attract investors and build a strong naira again.

1.Good don't devalue, implement all your financial policies but take responsibility for your actions and stop blaming Jonathan for your incompetence.

2. Buhari's strategy is to blame Jonathan for failing economy, the Wole Soyinkas are hired to do the dirty propaganda job for him. Counter them, they are devils.

3."I think if there is any word that is more than serious, it is more than that. I am telling you as at today, some states after federal accounts( allocation) are going home with less than N60 millions."-Masari

4. When Buhari refused to appoint ministers for 7 months, searching for budget padding angels, Nigeria lose about N2 trillion, there was uncertainty in the market, investors started fleeing. Banks, construction, oil sectors started retrencing workers, the retrenchment is ongoing.

5. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria risk recession within the next 12 months, Buhari is driving us to recession, he is panicking, and putting up a strong propaganda team both at home and abroad to to help him put the blame on Jonathan. Counter it, expose the clueless president.

6. Buhari have a strong media, but does not have economic team, he will blame Jonathan for that.

7. Jonathan handed the fastest growing economy in Africa to Buhari, investors were attracted to Nigeria, South Africa was overtaken as number one best economy by Nigeria. Today Nigeria is number 3, with South Africa and Kenya taking first and second position.

8. Nigerians "fired" Jonathan because they agreed with apc that he is not doing a good job. Buhari and apc promised Nigerians that they are better, and will fix the problems, but right now Nigerians prefer Jonathan's government than a govt of hopelessness, and whining.
