THE NEW WIZKID ON DAVIDO'S PLAYBOOK.

Davido became very popular in Nigeria and built an online presence like no other artist in Africa by engaging the grassroots like constantly engaging online, going to the nook and cranies of Lagos and Nigeria and rubbing minds with the street. Doing constant acts of kindness ' giveaways ', especially on trending matters and strategically helping people .

Burnaboy took to the center . Sometimes he engage and other time he keep quiet but concentrated on the American, UK , Carribean and European market to make up his numbers and he did just well , reason he doesn't need to do the Davido style to be relevant.

Wizkid , on the other hand, took to being very quiet and not engaging his fans and the street but just doing his music. While his music cut deep into the UK and Europe markets, it didn't cross the American and Carribean like Burnaboy's.

So technically, Davido covered his lapses with the Nigerian crowd( street) . Burnaboy with the Americans and Caribbean. Wizkid was the one lagging behind.

I believe this new moves of his - engaging the street since the passing of his mother via giveaways , visiting the street, visiting the street lords and leaders, etc ...is a way to make up those lapses. He had seen being quiet isn't doing it like he wanted. In music , numbers are king regardless of how you get it. Because numbers sell music.

I believe we'll see more of him playing in this field going forward. Or I may be wrong. Maybe it was just for his mother's passing. Time shall tell.
