zendi: You're actually saying we should talk farming without mentioning weather. I acknowledge the need to minimize distractions, but you cannot talk investment without occasionally straying into politics. Politics and investment are like mother and child, where politics is the mother. It is the greatest influence over your investment and the entire financial markets. Do you know that the assessment of political risk is the beginning of due diligence for foreign investors, to avoid throwing their money into a political lagoon? If the situation in the SE is allowed to deteriorate, for instance, it will damage your portfolio far more than the present military deployment somebody is bickering about. A stitch in time saves nine. Oga, while you assertion seems right. I'll refer you to the epistles that justified same on SMN. That platform is as dead as Dodo as we speak. |

emmanuelewumi: I was with a 72 years investor yesterday. The man has over 40yrs experience in the stock market. He said he would rather invest in a bad company that has good managers than in a good company that has bad managers.
Oando was a good company prior to 2001 or in the days of Unipetrol.
Sooner than later bad managers will turn a good company to a bad one. You have 2 pending questions to respond to. |

Chibuking81: Please can someone explain to me why the earning of GTB/Stanbic bank with their current price has a big difference when compared with Zenith, Access and UBA.
The first is high in their stock price but small in its earning, while the later are small in their price but high in their earning when compare with the price of GTB/ Stanbic .
Please I need an explanation.
I hope one can rightly say that the first set are in their fair price region, while the others are in their undervalued region. It's about the ROE(Return on Equity). The market places very high premium on stocks that have high ROE(relative to the peers). Nestle and Gtb are clear examples. Those 2 stocks have commanded higher prices since FOREVER. |

leo1234: The important thing is to learn from our mistakes. Why keep both fidelity and FCMB in your portfolio when you can sell one and buy UBA that has 90% chance of paying interim dividend. Even if the price of UBA falls you still have your dividend. If he must sell, please make sure it's Locodemy bank(FCMB). This is based on EPS,ROE and other metrics only. |

rebekah2011: The results is poor compared to last year. Impairment up. Above 100% increase in PAT is poor. Locodemy Bank's result will have to be described as a disaster, if Zenith has a poor result. On a second look, by annualising the H1 to FY, the increase in PAT is 17%. |
