Don't be too quick to judge? Did I judge?

Everyone else are the ones judging and castigating the Governor, I am the only one giving the benefit of doubt within reason.

Renovate isn't always the answer. Sometimes the building needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

Secondly, the person who reported claims and I quote "The plan was when a suitable contractor was found, my mother and her siblings will all go to Nigeria in order to supervise the renovation.".. Really?! Well, that ship has sailed now.. When they find the suitable contractor, they can start the re-construction.

Also, see the bold face lie that the author wrote saying they were not given formal notice so how did they know the Government wanted them to work on the property?

I am not holding brief for the Government, but I smell utter bullshit. They are hoping to get compensated with 60 Million Naira and no such compensation will be paid for a 40 year old building (especially when the Government is not reposessing the building).
Alright, I get your point better.
Although as for the compensation which I believe is why they have shot up the price, it may not be because of the building rather location.

Mtcheeeeew.. How did I end up with some of you fhuckers in the same country.. angry

The house was built in 1976.. That makes it 40 years old plus. And remember it's a commercial building meaning it's had more use than a private residence.

None of you have any information on the structural integrity of the building yet you are all cursing the Governor. The same you Guys will travel overseas and come and be telling us stories and sharing photographs of fine buildings you took pictures inside. Yet when you return here you will all run out with machetes to stop the Government from moving a Market away from the Center of town. angry

If that building collapses tomorrow, you people will start shouting how government is inefficient of how the dead people were used for election sacrifice.

The person that posted that nonsense and her family are in the United States.. If that building collapses and kills anybody, they will just lock up and not return to even help bury the dead.

Please some of you need to start using your brains more. Poverty is not an excuse to be foolish. angry
Don't be too quick to judge
There are worse older buildings compared to this littered everywhere, and if you read the write up you would understand there was already efforts to comply and renovate.thanks

It is. You said we should all drop out like Ibeto. And he told you 99% of those that didnt go to school end up bad, only 1% end up like Ibeto.
You seem more mature, so I'll take my time to explain
By the first two lines of my post I meant, in Nigeria the degree hardly matters anymore, economics, accounting, business management, banking etc. they may all end up in the same sector, we have engineers working in banks in this country.
By the last two lines am am merely trying to make the OP understand that he mustn't seek for a job rather he can employ and any of the degree he gets is not a pre-requisite for being an employer, I want OP as well as others in such dilemma to see the wider picture of life after a university degree in Nigeria.
So my dear, it's no advice to drop out ok? I did not drop out and I can't advise someone to do such, do your best, keep your head up, remember, always see the bigger picture, you can be an employer not an employee, you can be a creator of jobs, your degree matters not much.

So a third class degree holder will create job for a first class degree holder? Between the two, who needs supervision? Those with first class brains should be out there solving problems through research and innovation.

I know Igbo men billionaires who do not know how the four walls of a class room looks like, they employ a number of first class graduates..so yes, a pass graduate can employ a first class one

As a man thinket...
Ask yourself, are you wise?
A 3rd class mathematics product of UI may be liken to 2.2 of most universities
1st class hasn't gotten a job, do you know favour might locate you.
Why building a low self esteem?
If evaluated, you could perform better than some 2.2 and 2.1 in the market because the quality of some of the products in the market are very poor.
Mathematics can be define as the process of demolishing a building without using a bulldozer. You are good jaree. grin
Do you know that some employers also understand that reason for low academic grade is not actually lack of basic knowledge about the discipline.
Some companies still absolve lower grades because one still need to undergo training on using their applications and other facilities.
Its only a numskull that can not get a job after attending a university[even a lucrative ones]. The only difference is the race. If other are running 1mile, you have to be ready to run 2miles.
I agree that 2.1 and 2.2 are popularly demanded in the market but not in every cases.
Have it in mind to enroll for PGD

Yes you can get a job if you have the right information.
"....3rd class in UI can be likened to 2.2 in most universities...." Why? How? Did you attend most universities? I don't know why Nigerians keeping making such baseless comparisons...
Apart from that unnecessary phrase, you made other good points. OP are there even jobs? Yes you can get a job but at the same time get creative

If you're not a dude you must be a girl then, sorry my bad. back to what I was saying

stop contradicting yourself. At first you said "but you don't just rape a married woman you've known forever." which is false by the way, ignorance is a choice in the 21st century. Most females are sexually molested and assaulted by a known person. starting with minors to adults

and then you later said "So you never seen a case of a boyfriend raping the girlfriend?" - completely agree a boyfriend can rape his girlfriend, a husband his wife as well.
You win.

If they had a thing why would she report the case to her husband?
why would physical symptoms of trauma be stated in the write up if it was consensual? I'm sorry dude that is an irresponsible and dumb assumption.
She was raped, why won't she report?
So you never seen a case of a boyfriend raping the girlfriend?
I think you are the one who is immature but I perfectly understand, we reason within the confines of our knowledge.
Now don't do the dude thing again, dont drag me to the boy zone.
