Why would a whole region change their surnames to their superior slave dealers if not for inferiority complex? were the binis not also trading with the Europeans? why didn't they change their names to that of their counterparts? I feel it's mainly due to colonial mentality and due to the fact that they believed everything about them was inferior even to their names and clothes, even to their soul. |
This is blasphemy, why would anyone want to compare the U-20 female side with the Senior National team? male for that matter? Compare them with their fellow age group (the male U-20 side) and stop misrepresenting them. |

Zanaco whips Enyimba 4-0 Saturday, 17 July 2010 Nigeria Premier League Champions, Enyimba slumped last Saturday as they fell by 0 4 in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 16 to Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) of Zambia in Lusaka. Zanaco scored all four goals in the first half at the Sunset Stadium in Lusaka. It took just 120 seconds for the home side to break down the former African champion through defender George Chilufya before forward Matthews Macha doubled the lead three minutes later. Three minutes before the hour-mark, Ignatius Lwipa scored the third goal and his strike-partner, Winston Kalengo, completed the rout a minute from half-time. Enyimba, however, fought back in the restart with no breakthrough, thereby leaving the Aba club with a mountain to climb in a fortnight when it plays host at the Enyimba Sports Stadium. But the Peoples Elephants loss may not be unconnected with the players demand for the payment of their contract fees for the just-concluded Premier League season. The team also arrived in Lusaka less than 24 hours before Saturdays clash and in two batches and the players could not really settle down to post a respectable performance in the match. They however have a chance to redeem their image in two weeks time in the second leg in Aba. http://npl.com.ng/news.php?id=112 WAHALA DEY OO, I KNEW THEY WERE GOING THERE TO MEET THEIR WATERLOO. |

Heartland will fall – Aboutrika Posted: 2010-07-16 12:28 Al-Ahly midfielder Mohamed Aboutreika has expressed optimism ahead of their CAF Champions League opener against Heartland FC of Nigeria on Sunday in Owerri. The Egyptian champions face last year’s runners-up in their first Group B match at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, located in the south-eastern part of Africa’s most populous country. Aboutrika, a regular face in the continental club championship during the past half-decade, remains upbeat of the Red Devils’ quest to grab a convincing result to put their ambitions of an unprecedented seventh title on track. Heartland’s compatriots Kano Pillars masterminded the exit of the Egyptian giants last year, but Aboutrika, undoubtedly the most famous Egyptian player, is convinced their outing during a training tour of Germany and Austria puts them in a good stead. The 31-year-old reckons the Nigerians are also bent on improving on their status as last year’s losing finalist to champions this term. “It will be a difficult game and the result is important for our course. The players are focused for the game and we have prepared feverishly for the game.” The talented midfielder has been an integral part of the Ahly squad since joining in 2004 and was instrumental in their continental conquest of 2005, 2006 and 2008. Aboutrika, twice winner of the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt in 2006 and 2008, was named as Best Player on the continent by CAF in 2008. Ahly’s rivals Ismaily will host Algerian outfit JS Kabylie in the other Group B clash. In Group A, holders TP Mazembe of DR Congo will face Dynamos FC of Zimbabwe in Harare whilst Entente Setif of Algeria engages Tunisia’s Esperance in Setif. kickoffnigeria.com |
