SportsRe: Our Falconets Are Being Shabbily Treated By Nigeria! by honeric01(mod): 11:55am On Jul 19, 2010
Before people starts jumping on the bandwagon, i would like to say that we should first consider how much Fifa gives out to federations for female football development, how much the U-20 cup is worth and how much the tournament itself is expected to generate.

1:"You can't compare the women U-20 world cup with the Men's Senior World-cup

2: You should only compare the U-20 females with their U-20 male counterparts and not the Senior national team, it's a mis-representation

3: How much were their U-20 male counterpart paid when they were in Egypt?

The answers to these questions are enough to decide if the girls are being treated poorly or not.

$8k gone to the winds? Wow, that's enof to start me a decent life as a cloth trader in onitsha. lol. But on the real, every real fx trader must have his own fair share of bombed accounts in order to get ahead.

Honeric01, you have lost enough and your time to shine is around the corner. You must make it in Jesus name. Amen. smiley, to hammer na turn-by-turn, everybody must to make am!
True talk my brother. In fact it's like a welcome gesture to the world of profitable fx. Those who are able to still stay put after such massive losses turn out to become the odiaeros of fx.
Thanks bro, by August, i might be getting close to $3-5k to trade with, but i still get the phobia say i might crash that again, but i am dealing with my fear factor right now and i hope it works out.

How do you mean?

ow11:
grin grin@Independence

Surely I agree it wasn't the smartest thing to do in the world at the time but these names have remained for generations and have become part of our identity today. Like I wrote earlier, Favour, ThankGod and Blessing are Nigerian names today that are of English origin just like Hart is an Ibani name and Briggs is a Kalabari name.

Oh yeah, The fedora is as annoying as the woko and etibo itself because these were also brought in by the white man. . .Look, these people have influenced a lot of our culture and these things have evolved over time like the native dress girls wear today which is quite different from what their grand-mums wore 100 years ago.

So @Honeric01, do you wear shoes when you dress up in full Bini regalia? or you wear only slippers that was developed in Bini kingdom.
ThankGod, favor, blessings are just English version of the local names we have here in Nigeria, favor means Aanu in Yoruba, Ese in Bini, Amara in Igbo, Thank-god also have their native version, so also is blessings. but can you say the same of Heineken, government, independence, clark or any other silly names in your region? what does these names mean in your native language? can you translate them?

So you think it's okay to bear government, brain, governor, EDUCATION shocked, ACADEMICS shocked shocked shocked shocked, seriously, are these people sick in the head or what?

Please Ow11, kindly name one of your child fry-pan if you have not already named one dust-bin, cooking-stove or even cutlery.

I wear shoes because shoes weren't made for only the whites, if you check your history very well, you'd know that shoes didn't originate from the west, Some Africans were already wearing locally made shoes, so if i wear shoes, that does not mean it came from the white man's land and by the way, why should you compare things like shoes with complex things like Heritage, identity and what makes you an ethnic worth mentioning?
hehe . .

seriously, some Rivers/Ijaw families need to change their surnames

His last name is strongface  grin
How can somebody be proud to say his surname is "strongface?
Jeez!!!, you mean someone's surname is STRONGFACE? okporokpo!!!!!!!!!! shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

These people are lost forever, you see why they have been shortchanged and maltreated by the ruling class in Nigeria? when you don't even value your heritage, no one else is going to value it no matter how you try.

CultureRe: Does Anyone Know How/why So Many People From Rivers State Have English Surnames by honeric01(m): 10:21pm On Jul 18, 2010
@Ow11
Didn't other regions in Nigeria had direct contact with the europeans? why didn't most of them change their names (SURNAMES) their identity, to english and foreign names? THE BINIS HAD DIRECT TRADE CONTACT with the Europeans more than any other tribes in Nigeria, yet they didn't change their IDENTITY (SURNAMES) to that of their trade partners, have you ever wondered why WHITES nd other western world never bear African names? they rather give their kids useless names than name them anything near African names?

What is CLARK?
what is Heineken?
What is Independence?
What is SMITH?

does these names have any significant meanings to you?

For Christ's sake, why would someone decides to name himself and his future generations after slave buyers, thereby killing and sending their own identity into extinction?

And what's with the English cap too if not to show that "we were once lost, but thanks to the whiteman, we have found a direction"?

When I said slave traders had their kids sent to Europe to study, I meant African ('Rivers') slave traders, the point of bringing it up was to show the early influence of Western education in what later became Rivers State which probably led to many name changes. The European slave traders didn't mix with the population of what became Southern Nigeria as much as in other places.
I think you should rephrase this, i don't quite understand you.

Hasty response.
There are different categories of pple on earth. Even so called graduates.some are half baked whilst others are graduates that can defend their certificates. Same applies to christianity. We have some ignorant folks amongst them. If judas a member of the 12 could betray his leader, then we shouldnt be suprised if Erastus did similar to Adeboye. As God didnt command solomon to worship idols&take concubines,IMO i dnt think Adeboye would have encouraged Erastus to act unethically. Therefore as we have good xtians,so we have bad ones. Christians dont act/reason in same way in some situations
Thank u.

the problem i have with some people is that most of them never knew this man as a "pastor" when he was yet to be caught as a fraudster or criminal, all of a sudden, he's being called a pastor just because he's been caught or indicted. this is where i dislike about some Nigerians and the toothpick media houses.

Which planet are you from, honeric01, that you're asking this question? It's a very well known fact that Erastus Akingbola is an ordained pastor in the RCCG and an EX-bank CEO! Speaking of trashing Christianity, it's not rocket science that many a Christian trash Christianity by their despicable and shameful deeds and actions.
He's majorly known as a banker and not a pastor so why try to use his minor calling to describe him just because it's now a negative news?

Anyone can be a pastor at redeem.

"Whites" ate/eat toast, croissant, caviare, burgers, etc, with their hands. Some dipped bread into soup and ate.

Soup? now can you explain to me why they have decided to start using spoons to eat EBA, FUFU, AMALA and POUNDED yam? Is it not because the whites feels it's wrong to eat with your bare-hands?

The big spoons was used to share soup in large quantity, not for eating.
