I am sorry but our league does not encourage young players, you can hardly find an U-20 playing anywhere in our league, 90% of our league clubs do not have a proper youth academy so how do you expect youth development through our league? |

That No 9 is a waste pipe, another Yakubu in the form of a woman, she couldn't even score any of the chances she was offered, even the goal she scored was a scramble, she almost lost that one too. Just too big, come to think of it, she claims she's 16yrs, if that's 16yrs old, then Yerima should not be made to face the wrath of the law for marrying a 15yrs old ![]() |
Five ex-champs still in Champs League Posted: 2010-05-10 12:29 Five former African champions plus holders TP Mazembe of DR Congo have sealed their places at the mini-league stage of the Orange CAF Champions League. The quintet are record winners Al-Ahly and Egyptian compatriots, Isamily; Algerian duo JS Kabylie and Entente Setif, and Esperance of Tunisia proved their worth in the premier continental club championships to seal their place the lucrative group phase. The list is completed by last year’s losing finalists, Heartland of Nigeria and Zimbabwean side Dynamos. This therefore means that there is no debutant remaining in the Orange CAF Champions League, leaving the battle in the hands who have had previous experiences with the competition. In Cairo, a last-gasp strike from teenager Shehab Amed proved the decider as the Ahly cruised to a 3-0 Al-Ittihad of Libya and advance 3-2 on aggregate. After a barren first half, forward Emad Moteab scored the opener on 59 minutes with a superb strike in the penalty area before Mohamed Fadl headed home the second goal on 74 minutes. Fadl’s goal kept the tie at 2-2 but 19-year old Shehab netted the much-important third goal with a lone range effort that beat Ittihad goalie Samir Aboud in added on time. Holders TP Mazembe kept their defence aspirations on track with a 3-0 win over Malian side Djoliba AC thanks to a brace from Alain Kaluyitkua Dioko and the other from captain Tresor Mputu Mabi. Elsewhere in Luanda, Angolan champions Petro Atletico managed a 2-1 win over JS Kabylie but the latter progressed 3-2 on aggregate. David Malgalhaes and winger Ricardo Job scored the hosts whilst Mohamed Aoudia grabbed a crucial away goal for the “Canaries”. Former winners Ismaily completed a double over Sudanese giants Al-Hilal with a 3-0 victory to cruise on 4-1 on aggregate. The Egyptians came from behind after Edward Sadomba had shot the visitors into the lead on 27 minute to score through Mohamed Homos, Ahmed Farag and Ahmed Khairi. Algerian champions Entente Setif maintained an impressive run in the competitive managing a 2-2 draw in Lusaka against Zanaco of Zambia. Entente Setif were cruising to victory after goals Nabil Hemani and Lazhar Aissa had neutralised Makundika Sakala’s opener, before Kennedy Nketani levelled for the Zambians five minutes from time. Zimbabwean torchbearers cut short the campaign of debutants Gaborone United of Botswana managing a barren draw in Gaborone to advance 4-1 on aggregate. In Omdurman, Tunisian giants pulled a surprise 1-1 draw against Al-Merrikh to march on 4-1 on aggregate. An own goal by Conolese-import Janvier Bokungu gave the Sudanese giants the lead at half time but Wjadi Boauzzi drew parity seven minutes from recess. SuperSport United bowed out after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Nigeria’s Heartland. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15300/five-ex-champs-still-in-champs-league.php |
Ike confident despite tough draw Posted: 2010-05-14 19:47 Heartland captain ThankGod Ike says the team will make it to the semifinal of the CAF Champions League in spite of being drawn in the group of death. Last year's finalists have been pooled in Group B with three former winners including 6-time winners Al Ahly, Morocco's JS Kabylie and Egypt's Ismaili. Defender Ike admits that it is a tough draw. "This is a more difficult draw than what we had last year," he told KickOffNigeria.com. "But we believe in ourselves and we know that if we win our home games and get at least one draw away from home, we will qualify." Heartland are the only team out of the three in the group not to have won the competition but the big defender said that would be no hindrance. "We have confidence in our team and we know that if we play our game, we can beat any team anywhere." Heartland defeated SuperSport United 4-2 on aggregate to reach the group stages. The other group has defending champions TP Mazembe, former winners Esperance and ES Setif along with Dynamos http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15408/ike-confident-despite-tough-draw.php |

They live in a riverine area, hence the need for canoe, for the kids to been alone on the canoe means they have been using this means of transport for a long time and that their parents already trust them with the canoe. I doubt it if none of them can swim and i must also confess to you that i learnt how to swim through going with friends to the river, not because we were too poor to visit the beach, but because i just wanted to have a story too, i always hear my friends talking about stuffs like this. I also remember that i use to save my transport fare just to trek with some of my friends to school, i enjoyed every part of the trekking, i could trek a distance of 1hr without dropping a sweat and it was fun. Don't be surprised that these kids might have taken this canoe without their parent's knowledge just to enjoy the sailing and river alone just like my friends and i use to keep our transport fare by trekking to school just to pluck every fruits we see on our way, stone, kill every bird we see on our way, chase every lizard that venture our way or even try to shadow our female class-mates just to get some attention from them. This picture could be any of these. |

Mr Fire:Lol, ignorance, now tell me, where was that taken? i have seen that picture times without number, it's a work of art and not real, you can keep doubting or thinking it's real, but i have actually seen it more than 1 year ago. As for those who are ready to swallow anything that's passed to them, keep up the good works lol. |
