Football is more than just being at home or away, if Kaduna united could come to Aba to beat Enyimba, then Pillars is also capable of repeating the same feat, nothing like cheating here, Enyimba wont try anything funny because it's going to be shown on NTA LIVE on Wednesday, you guys should not miss that match.

This is something that really makes my heart bleed. There are even TV programmes that go on and on about foreign football! When I see such, it is like I should burst into the TV and konk somebodies head.
This shows that Nigerians are indirectly the cause of the rot in the Nigerian football and league, since so much attention has been shifted from the NFF and our football, no one is really putting on eye on the running of the league and the body in general.

I will answer your questions one by one.

Government Interference is when the president or the government involves itself with the affairs of football matters, such as suspending it from participation or making decisions on its behalf. It does not involve investigating association officials for embezzlement, as long as the investigation is not done by the president, perhaps done by the ministry of sports.  If the president probes NFF officials at random, then it would be interference, but if the ministry of sports probes NFF officials, specifically for embezzlement of FIFA allocated funds, then it would not be interference.

It is not true that FIFA wants NFF officials to probe themselves. FIFA does not want the president to do the probing, but the ministry of sports must gather evidence of corruption and submit it to FIFA, stating that the ministry of sports is the one conducting the investigation. Here, the president is the one doing the probing. That is an unequivocal interference.

You are right. A government that funds the NFF is not seen as an interferer, but a govt. that disbands the NFF is seen as an interferer. In this case, all Jonathan has to do was withdraw funding from the NFF. NFF can run based on money it receives from FIFA. They received $8million for this World Cup alone from FIFA, and FIFA does not allow embezzlement of its funds, for it wants NFF members to use the money to develop sports.

NFF can survive on its own. NFF receives money from sponsors like adidias, from FIFA, from the local professional league, and from companies like MTN, Pepsi Co, among others. As a matter of fact, it is better for the govt. to stop funding the NFF so it can be wholly independent from people like silly Jonathan. That is the way football is run in societies like USA. Jerseys can be sold to millions of fans all over the world.

All Jonathan should have done is to withdraw govt funds. Govt. cannot run everything, and that is why Nigeria is a rundown country.
Now i know you are just a blind arguer.
Please what about Government's funding of the NFF? is that not an interference?
What about Decree 101?

Dude, i am done with you, you argue the obvious and i don't think it's worth continuing. EVEN TAIWO OGUNJOBI WOULDN'T ARGUE WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO ARGUE, GO AND READ WHAT THAT WACKO SAID, IF YOU HAVE READ WHAT HE SAID, YOU WOULD HAVE KEPT QUIET SINCE MORNING. please stop disgracing yourself the way, no one pays you for typing all these rubbish.

A criminal charge is a criminal charge and if sani lulu murders someone u wont say he shouldnt be tried for murder, it is childish rascality that would make an adult say a criminal charge on the NFF board members would be seen as interference.

Most importantly no proponent of this ban has offered to explain how the ban would improve our game. I guess if your brother is sick u would suggest he is shot dead to cure him of his sickness so as to be wellhuhhuhhuh
Just like i said, you definitely don't know what you are saying and you're proving that with more of your post.

Let me ask you something, how do you check if Sani lulu or Ogunjobi is fraudulent or have been stealing government's money? how can that be ascertained without the government getting involved? before you can probe someone, you must have carried out investigations and before that investigation can be carried out without being called "government interference", someone from NFF (top official) must formally request a probe from the government which is never going to happen in this world we are, so who's fooling who?

How am I jumping the gun? You said" probing anyone from the NFF by the government is seen as interference," and I told you to cite me any historical precedent when FIFA has said that it is an interference when a law enforcement agency, not the president or any direct member of the executive branch, probes its football officials for stealing money, some of which is allocated by FIFA themselves. At least we know that the last time when Nigeria, and recently Togo, withdrew the Eagles form ACN, it was declared an interference. Investigating for stealing FIFA  and national funds is not interference

You can only talk without proof.
Answering questions with questions is not my kind of life, if you answered mine, i would have answered yours.

so do me a favor, go back to my questions and have them answered accordingly, then ask me yours.

Do you know what decree 101 means?

do you know we have been practicing that since 1996/1998?

Why hasn't FIFA banned us since we started using decree 101?

Fifa interference refers to despotic decisions like the one jonathan took. It does not refer to probing of corrupt officials of the FA or sending them to jail for corruption using the laws of the land.

And that is what we expect Jonathan to do, we would rather see the culprits Lulu and co in jail than the national team and all footballing activities banned for 2yrs while lulu enjoys his loot and cosy's up to the politicians for another appointment in future
You yourself do not even understand what you are typing.

Jonathan just used the laws of the land by withdrawing Nigeria from associating with FIFA, the law of Nigeria includes that we have freedom of association and dis-association. How's that an interference?

Is joining FIFA a permanent association? is FIFA  a cult or what? i just don't understand how some Nigerians reason.

By the way, you cannot probe and arrest any NFF officials without interfering into the running of NFF
MANY PEOPLE STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT INTERFERENCE MEANS. sad sad sad

Cite the FIFA rule and give me a historical precedent of when the law enforcement of a country investigated corrupt football officials (especially those who stole money allocated by the country in which they sit and money allocated by FIFA themselves) were adjudged  by FIFA to have interfered with football.

Guys and Gals, we need to get Sani Lulu and his bunch of inept officials out of the Glass House. I believe the Presidency is using the ban to frustrate the current set of NFF officials out and bring in focused people. I believe in change and Nigeria is a country where government officials refuse to resign when they perform badly. I want the Nigerian Government to stand up to FIFA for once. Running a Football Federation is not rocket science!!! We are in a situation where the future of our football depends on getting the right set of administrators into the Glass House. The Presidency spends a lot of money on Football in the country, so it is natural that Goodluck Jonathan wants a change in the NFF's leadership. Nigerian Football is in tatters anyway, So FIFA's threat of a ban should not make us have sleepless nights. We need to restructure our footie and heads have to roll at the Glass House. I know the Presidency will lift the ban as soon as Sani Lulu, Bolaji Ojo-Oba and the set of failures resign their positions. This is the time for media houses in Nigeria to start a campaign for the change of leadership in the NFF. Cheers.
THE NIGERIAN MEDIA HOUSES REMAIN ONE OF OUR PROBLEMS IN NIGERIA FOOTBALL AND POLITICS, THEY REFUSE TO STAND UP WHEN THEY OUGHT TO, BUT VERY QUICK TO SAY RUBBISH WHEN THINGS GO WRONG.

this country is a joke!!

So these spastics came out of their office to declare the very next day to be the day all outstanding matches will be played, i can only imagine the coach/players getting phone calls the night before that they have an outstanding game

Nigeria is the only country that is still an ongoing season, with outstanding games and some pumpkin somewhere will shout we have the best league in Africa- what a joke!!
This is why i support the ban on football, i just want us to come back home, think of the league, plan the league and put in the right people to handle the league, our league should be 100% better than what we have today if all the energy AIT, GALAXY, STV, NTA channel towards the SE and the EPL is being channeled to the league.

I WANT GJ TO BAN NTA FROM SHOWING ANY FORUM LEAGUE IF THEY CAN'T SHOW 2 LOCAL LEAGUE LIVE MATCHES EVERY SUNDAY AND SUNDAY.

@Honeric01, I'm not saying Oshiomhole has not done well. I just want the Edo State Government to focus more on making the state a productive one. The living standards of the people need to be raised. It is not so good for a city to be looking good, while its residents can barely afford to eat three square meals. I've gone through the press releases you've published on this thread. Press Releases are documnets, you know. It does not mean that the projects have been completed or even embarked on at all. Nairaland is gradually becoming a place where State Governors are celebrated or vilified.

Besides, I will be happy if anyone with a digital camera in Benin can snap pictures of other developed areas of Edo State and post them on this thread. Nairalanders and the world want to see pictures of renovated schools, hospitals, functional cottage industries [ We need to know what is being done with Internally Generated Revenue ], refurbished roads in other parts of Edo State [ Not Benin City ] etc. Common guys and gals, there must be someone with a digital camera out there in Edo State cool. By the way, I'm of Edo Origin and our family house is on Sapele Road. Cheers.
Then call any of your people at home, ask them to get a digital camera, snap up pictures of different developments going on around Edo state, let them furnish you with news of what is going on, or is that too much for your people at home to do?

If you don't have an information about what is going on, why not seek to know what is going on instead of just concluding on your own?

google is your friend, you have a phone and you have eyes to read too, you have alot of options in getting news from the world about what is going on in your country.

Someone wanted to know if the governor is doing anything or not, i decided to help the lazy person dig up news, articles on other things the governor has done and still doing, how is that a bad idea? by the way, try catching Governor's mandate on AIT every Tuesday (Wednesday) i think, there are alot of things they show on that program that you don't hear or read of.

For this country to move forward, we need to change our mindset, we should stop reading negative meanings to anything good our leaders do.

it's not govt. intervention when you arrest sports administrators who have broken the law--in this case by embezzling funds. Get your facts straight.
I have watched you type false details for a while now, but now i am ready to burst your bubbles, how is it possible for government to probe a body that has sovereignty to the laws of the land at which they dwell? DO YOU KNOW WHAT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE MEANS?

Probing anyone from the NFF by the government is seen as government interference by FIFA whichever way you look at it.

FIFA wants the NFF to be the sole body that regulate and judge anything that concerns football in the country, either to probe themselves or not, its left for the NFF members alone and nothing else.

Now tell me, A GOVERNMENT THAT FUNDS THIS BODY IS NOT SEEN AS AN INTERFERER BUT A GOVERNMENT THAT DECIDES TO CLOSE DOWN THIS BODY IS SEEN AS AN INTERFERER, CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY THIS DOUBLE STANDARD IS BEING MAINTAINED BY FIFA?.

NFF can not survive on its own, it relies on the government, so this kind of body cannot be said to be independent of the government if it cannot survive financially on its own without government pumping in millions of nairas.
