Nigeria dismiss SA threat Nigeria will travel to South Africa for the second leg of their Fifa Under-17 Women's World Cup second leg qualifier with the same team that played the first leg, despite complaints from their hosts over the 'looks' of some of the players. South Africa team manager Fran Hilton-Smith said on arrival in South Africa after the first leg that they would report to Fifa if Nigeria used the same players, claiming that they looked well above the age, and some of the players had competed at the same tournament two years earlier. But NFF chief media officer Ademola Olajire told SuperSport.com that the NFF would not dignify the statement with a response. "All I can say is that our team will travel to South Africa with the same team, unless the coach decides that there are one or two players he needs to change for technical reasons. "But we will not respond to any threats. If they want to complain, they can go ahead. We will only be bothered to respond if we get official notification of a complaint from Fifa, and then we will answer appropriately through the proper channels." |

Kgdavid:I don't know what to tell you again, ok let me help you out a little, when i said largerback has got no plan of meeting his 44 man list collectively, you said he's going to do that at the dinner, i asked you a question about if they're expected to know one another on the dinning table and also wanted to know how the coach is likely to use his tactical onus to determine the good ones, then seperating those he can and can't work with on the dinning table b4 picking his 23 man list from the 44 man list. I brought up the issue of the farewell dinner being a custom ceremony to counter someone who said largerback would meet with his list at the dinner and the dinner being one of his plans. Now bro, can u boldly say we are going to see a better selection, better performance from largerback with the way things has gone so far? Why did largerback release a 44 man list when he knew he was not going to even test them for 1 day? How is he going to be sure the players he's going to be picking are going to be the best among the lot when he has not even tried the names he would be dropping? Lastly, how is he going to blend and instruct his selection to play according to his own tactics when he wont be playing any warm up match until 12 days to the worldcup? Answer these ones first and maybe you would then see why i am criticizing him together with his bosses. |
One last hurdle to cross, sevilla we are gonna shit on you, the league's ours. |
C'mon boiz, make me proud. |
Nigerian U17 female team has qualified for the upcoming U17 female worldcup in TnT by beating the SA girls 2 - 1 at their backyard, i say kudos to the girls. |
The party is never a coach's plan, we always have sendoff dinner for our teams when going for major tourney, so the dinner's not one of largerback's plan. We won't be seeing any of largerback's pre tournament's performances until may 28th which's just 12 days from the worldcup. What i see is free money being paid out to largerback for wearing the nigerian color. |

Nigeria pick Richards Bay Posted: 2010-04-30 21:38 Nigeria have picked the 4-Star Protea Waterfront Hotel at Richards Bay as their World Cup base camp after opting out of an earlier arrangement to use the New Hampshire Hotel. "Everyone agreed with the Technical Adviser on the choice of the Waterfront Hotel," Tunde Adelakun, NFF consultant told KickOffNigeria.com on Friday. A storm of media disapproval had trailed the choice of the Hampshire, which was considered unsuitable for a World Cup team, forcing the Nigerian Sports Minister to lead a delegation to South Africa to carry out an on the spot assessment. But Adelakun said the NFF had always been on top of the situation. "The place had not been paid for. It was selected by the former coach because it was away from the hustle and bustle and he wanted to ensure that the players concentrate fully on the football without distraction. "But there were certain things that needed to be put right, and the NFF gave the hotel management till April 28 to put those things right. Unfortunately, they did not, and an alternative was sought." The Waterfront, a 79-room facility, is one of the hotels approved by FIFA, but the NFF will still have to go through an administrative process before payment can be made for it. "We will have to write to FIFA, officially informing them that we have changed our hotel," Adelakun said. "They will now have to inspect and clear it before giving us the go-ahead. "It is only after that, that the NFF can make payment." That process should take no more than a few days, and with NFF officials confirming that the communication would go out to FIFA by Monday, the facility is expected to be secured before the end of next week. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15157/nigeria-pick-richards-bay.php |

Lagerback overrules Minister over hotel Posted: 2010-04-29 13:59 Nigeria Technical Adviser Lars Lagerback on Wednesday overruled Sports Minister Isa Bio's choice of a new base camp hotel after the inspection team rejected the New Hampshire Hotel originally picked by the NFF. Following a final inspection tour, the team, led by the Minister rejected the hotel, which has scandalised the media back home in Nigeria. According to NFF Consultant Tunde Adelakun, the Hampshire management did not meet the deadline given them by the NFF to make upgrades in certain areas "We gave them a deadline of April 28 to make certain changes in the place. And the NFF asked the Technical Adviser to come down from Europe to see for himself. "When we got here, those things had not been done and Lagerback rejected the hotel." But where Bio suggested Zimbali Lodge to be the team's new base camp, Lars went for the Waterfront Hotel at Richards Bay, and a top NFF official informed KickOffNigeria.com that the federation is more inclined to lean the way of the coach. "The accommodations at Zimbali Lodge are self-catering chalets, and they are too far apart from each other. We looked at them during our initial visit just before the African Nations Cup. "Carts are required to move from one chalet to the other. Its almost a two-minute walk, and that is not good for the players. "The coach is the technical man, and he should be the one to decide what is best for the team." The plus side is that Zimbali is within the 45-minute-drive time to match venue specified in the FIFA Regulations for teams. And that is the challenge facing Lagerback's choice of the Waterfront Hotel at Richards Bay, which the Super Eagles have already booked as their training camp ahead of the World Cup. The hotel is a two-hour drive from the match venue in Durban, and the FIFA Regulations state that teams base camps must be within 45 minutes drive from their match venue. NFF officials are planning a work-around to beat that challenge by having the team drive in to the Riverside Hotel allocated by FIFA a day before the game. The inspection team left for Richards Bay on Thursday morning to continue their inspection. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15126/lagerback-overrules-minister-over-hotel.php |
