4peace:good, didn't watch it. |
Kgdavid:you want me to state all the names of the countries/clubs they played right? why not do the homework and find that out yourself? google is your friend, i don't have the luxury of time to keep you satisfied, when they were still in SA, they played close to 5 matches (find out yourself who their opponents were), then they left for Brazil, played 3 local teams (find out yourself too), before jetting to Germany, they have played 3 friendlies so far in Germany including Jamaica they played last night (find out the rest 2 clubsides they played). If you still need to know the 15 countries they played, you are opened to search WWW for that. now back to my points, if a club would be paid $1.3million just to come select 23 players without having any 1st hand information about them before, i am not talking about the going to watch them play one game or talking on the phone with them as if that's going to make them good overnight, what i am talking about is the gelling, the compaction of a coach on a player, when are we going to start seeing that? may 20th at the useless welfare dinner or where? please answer me. after may 20th (7 days after submission of every country's 23man list). he listed 44 names, but he's not going to just half warm up match before he chooses his 23man list, what kinda coach is that? why list 44 man in the first place when they are not even going to be tested for once before the list is trimmed down? are you getting my point? THE DINNER IS COMING UP 7 DAYS AFTER EVERY COUNTRY IS EXPECTED TO SUBMIT THEIR 23MAN LIST and the players and largerback are not meeting until then, do you get it now? ![]() semid4lyfe:As for you, everyone can't be the same, you can chicken out all you want, i don't care, what i care about is to see the difference between the former and the latter, if the former was sacked for the latter, i would like to see what the latter has got ahead of the former and i am yet to see anything tangible, you can call me whatever you wanna call me, i don't care. I WANT TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COACH THAT WAS PAID #2 MILLION NAIRA PER MONTH AND A COACH THAT IS BEING PAID #30 MILLION NAIRA PER MONTH AND THE DIFFERENCE IS YET TO BE SPOTTED OR CAN YOU PINPOINT THE DIFFERENCE TO ME WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING SO FAR? 44 man list with no warn up matches so far, not even with the local players on the list, not even with those players ready to leave their club for any warn up matches on the list, when is he going to "TEST" his 44 man list for Christ's sake? you are also not seeing my points and i am just so worried that you also can't see the senselessness of the whole list and buildups. they won't be meeting till may 20th and when they finally meet, it's not for training session or any thing like that, it's for a dinner. DINNER!!! ![]() |
That is the spirit. |

Threat to report Nigeria to Fifa Posted: 2010-04-28 07:51 South African Women's Football team manager Fran Hilton-Smith has warned the Nigerian authorities that if they bring the same squad that Banyana Banyana played against recently, they intend lodging a complaint with Fifa. Hilton-Smith claims the West African nation is breaking the fair play rules by fielding over-age players even though the continental authorities are trying to discourage age-cheating in the game. "We are waiting for them to arrive here and if they bring the same squad that played us in the first leg, we will make them aware that we intend lodging a complaint with the world controlling body Fifa." Hilton-Smith said that Nigerian journalists had also expressed their fears prior to the start of the first leg match that if they qualified for the World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago, they are likely to be disqualified because the girls clearly looked over-age. "I do not mind losing," said acting Under-17 SA National Women coach Solly Luvhengo after their 5-0 loss in the first leg match in Nigeria a fortnight ago. "But you should have seen, most of the girls that were fielded by Nigeria against us in the first leg match were over-age. The lame excuse that Nigerians were by nature physically bigger is rubbish because you didn't need to be a rocket scientist to see whether a girl is a teenager or well over her 20s, as was the case with those Nigerian girls during the first leg match. "One of the journalists quizzed the flustered coach and demanded to know the criteria used to select a girl whom he said represented Nigeria at the 2008 Fifa World Cup in New Zealand." Luvhengo said he hated to sound as if he was moaning, but the truth was that the Nigerians did not adhere to the spirit of fair play on that day and loaded their squad with much older girls than the required age of 16. He added however that he was very proud of his girls for the manner in which they fought against physically stronger and obviously older opponents. "We conceded a soft goal in the first minute of the match," recalls Luvhengo. "But the girls re-grouped very nicely and their courage under fire made me really proud. I can safely say that we will give them something they are not likely to forget in a hurry when we meet them in Klerksdorp on Saturday." Ghana, who enjoy a 7-0 lead against Tunisia from the first leg, travel to North Africa for a second leg encounter this weekend. The winners qualify for the World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago while the losers in this weekend's clashes meet in a two-legged play-off to determine the third African country that will qualify for the Mundial later this year. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15101/threat-to-report-nigeria-to-fifa.php |
Obama Cup puts focus on Africa Posted: 2010-04-28 11:04 US President Barack Obama, who is hoping to attend the World Cup in June, is putting his focus on soccer and Africa. Not only has Obama asked Fifa to give consideration to bringing the World Cup back to the US in 2018 or 2022, but is being honoured by a special competition, the Obama Cup, to be staged in the US next month, with special consideration to teams from Africa. Ghana's Black Stars, Nigeria's Super Eagles and the Harambee Stars of Kenya – where Obama has his ancestral roots – have invited to participate with other teams from around the world. According to a report carried by the BBC Sport, both Nigeria and Ghana plan to feature players from their domestic leagues in the tournament which will be held from May 22-26. Ghana, who finished in third place at this year's Wafu Cup in Nigeria are taking the same squad to the US. "This tournament in the US will serve as a good preparation ground for our boys ahead of the CHAN tournament in Sudan," Ghana coach Herbert Addo said. While Ghana is using the US tournament to prepare for the CHAN, Nigeria plans to use it to expose their local players. Nigeria failed to qualify for the inaugural African Nations Championship (CHAN) in the Ivory Coast and the next edition scheduled for Sudan in January. "We have confirmed our participation in this tournament and it will be an excellent platform for our boys to play against other teams from across the world." NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15103/obama-cup-puts-focus-on-africa.php |
Shuaibu Amodu impostor in phone fraud Amodu impostor in phone fraud Posted: 2010-04-28 11:28 There seems no end to the troubles afflicting former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu, with his cell phone number stolen, cloned and used to defraud his friends. Amodu, who was demoted after the African Nations Cup, had his Zain cell phone line stolen over the weekend. The impostor, whose name was given as Okafor, blocked the original line, then did a SIM Swap, retrieved all of the coach's numbers and has been calling his contacts asking them to deposit money in an account. The fraudster's story is that Amodu's trucks with containers are stuck somewhere in Lokoja and require N200 000 paid into Fidelity Bank account number 080601010015437 belonging to Ebere Obi. Amodu has denied any knowledge or acquaintance with the fraudster and has asked his friends not to pay money into any bank account. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15104/amodu-impostor-in-phone-fraud.php |
Posted: 2010-04-28 12:12 Lars Lagerback knows 'eighty percent' of his World Cup squad, despite having never had a day of training with the team, according to Super Eagles Media Officer Idah Peterside. Early this month, the Swede named a provisional squad of 44 players for a training camp in England. That list was to be pruned to 30 after the training camp, but failed to happen as European clubs would not release players in the decisive final few days of the season. Lagerback will now only meet up with his squad for the first time on May 20 in Abuja, eight days after the FIFA deadline for participating countries at the World Cup to submit a provisional list of 30 to Zurich. But Peterside says that would be no problem. "He knows the majority of the team he wants to take to the World Cup, about eighty percent," the Media Officer told KickOffNigeria.com. "Since he took the job, he has travelled to about 10 countries and watched a lot of the players. He has also looked at the tapes of most of the games the team have played in the last two years and he has a good idea of who he wants at the World Cup." Of the remaining twenty per cent, Peterside said it was to allow for contingencies. "Other players must get a chance to try to break into the team for the World Cup, and the remaining spaces are for those players to convince the coach that they are good enough." Nigeria are pooled in Group B with Argentina, Greece and South Korea. http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15106/lagerback-knows-80-of-wc-squad.php I can't shout ![]() |
http://kickoffnigeria.com/news/15094/minister-nff-off-to-south-africa.php Minister, NFF off to South Africa Posted: 2010-04-27 16:53 Sports Minister Ibrahim Isah Bio will be part of a delegation leaving for South Africa on Tuesday night to inspect the controversial Hampshire Hotel where the Super Eagles have been booked to stay in Durban. Bio will travel in the company of NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi, NSC Director-General Patrick Ekeji, NFF General Secretary Bolaji Ojo-Oba and Executive committee member Taiwo Ogunjobi will be part of the team. Reports in the local media have suggested that the hotel was substandard and lacked the facilities to host a team for the World Cup, but NFF officials have defended the choice of the hotel, saying the management had been given certain standards to meet before the Eagles arrive. Bio is expected to forward a report to the Presidency after the inspection. |

dayokanu:You should know better Inter Milan (international) is a foreign version for AC Milan, so expect to see foreigners playing in that club because it's international. |
nearest:I don't stay online when watching matches of that caliber, anyways, Barca did not have to prove anything last night, we did our best and that was the result we got, i don't have any excuse but then no offensive play would have broken a team with 2 LBS, 2 RBS, 4 CDS, 2 DMS, 0 FWS AND 0 ST. But all the same, it was worth it, if anyone needs to know why we still believe we are the best, he or she should go check our trophy cabinet ![]() |
Shit happens, we weren't disgraced out of the CL, no excuse but who offense would have found it easy beating a double defence play like inter played. 2 LBS ![]() 2 RBS ![]() 2DMS ![]() 4CDS ![]() 0FWS ![]() 0ST ![]() All in all, we bowed out gracefully. ![]() |
Well done inter for sticking to your gameplan. We won u qualified, thats football. Now we can face la liga proper, congrats inter, congrats italy. |
