yes, their agreement was with NFF and they also won the right to air it in Nigeria from fifa but nff and nta came in to score the show by showing the matches even though the sole right belonged to ait, i guess that's why ait backed out from all nff/national teams activities.

Ahmed Musa is a class act, bro, try watching Kano pillars play, those guys can play football, cute football, not just any kinda football, they win hands down when it comes to playing beautiful football in Nigeria and Ahmed the highest goalscorer makes them more purposeful.

U're not worth debating with, if it was easy to score goals then, how come no other striker scored same goals with him or even more than him? U claim there was no league in brazil then, now i shouldn't even argue with u because most of his goals were scored with the national team. If it was easy then, we should have had @ least 15 strikers with 1000 goals each.

U just dont get it, do u? I'm talking of the way reckless and career treatening tackles were rampant then, you're talking of advancement, who does not know that football has upgraded and that any reckless tackle from a player would earn him a straight red, fines and suspensions compared to the era where players are seen chasing refs with blows and ready to even break the opposing coach's legs? So stop mixing up issues and learn to read comments properly before responding.

I can see that you dont any real fact to back up your point that football now's harder than before, lemme play by your rules, how manage that manU was able to score 7 against roma? How about holland vs serbia @ o6 wc? U remember the scoreline right? Saudi vs germany 02 wc? Remember that too? Goals cant be used to determine if football of now's harder than of old, try checking fouls stats in the past to now, maybe that might give u a clue. Headbuting and elbowing was like goalkicks then, players always ended matches with bruises and broken bones compared to now, ask those who were fortunate to watch football at that time for the raw tale.

In an era where players used to run 5km per game, there was enough space for players like Pele to cop a humongous amount of goals.

Let Pele come and play in this era where players run 12km per game (thus limiting space, and consequently chances), where teams play with 2 defensive midfielders and 4 defenders. . . . lets see whether Pele would be able to score 400 goals, talkless of 1000.

Sorry but how old are you? when did you start watching football? saying football was damn easy in the old days, you are joking right? in the old days, goal keepers were allowed to catch backpasses, there was nothing like extra time, if a match ends in a draw, there must be a rematch, the ball was harder, the boots were of inferior qualities, no gym facilities, if you are not warm up, all had to be done manually by running around a whole city, there was no ER like we have now, no facilities to put you back in shape like we have now, karate, kung fu, wrestling and all that was a norm in football back then, why would you compare the "war" style of football to ajebutter type of football we watch today? please go back and start watching classic football, you lot have alot to learn about the genesis of football.

 Football in the old days was harder than what we have now, then there was no referees shielding strikers against dangerous tackles, you could get tackled once and that might end your career as a footballer, do you know how many players broke their legs at an early age playing football in the old days?

 Stop comparing the old time way of playing football with now because now's very easy compared to the old age. (if you doubt me, try watching classic football dated from 1960s to 1990s.

Anyways, what i was trying to say about Kaita playing similarly to Yaya is because of the way he stamps his strenght in the middle of the park, he's very stable, also almost as big as Yaya and works as a warhorse unlike the rest DM we have. Solomon Okpako scored twice as Nigeria's local Super Eagles hammered Guinea 5-0 in the WAFU Cup tournament on Sunday.

Playing with the confidence borne of Friday's 4-0 pasting of Benin Republic, Daniel Amokachi's wards wasted little time getting into their groove, as midfielder Okpako swept them in front within the opening twenty minutes.

But it took until the hour before the second goal came. Again, it was the Kano Pillars midfielder who popped up to double the advantage, heading home when Gabriel Reuben's shot rebounded off the crossbar.

And it was that midfielder who made it three soon after with another header from Ejike Uzoenyi's corner kick on 65 minutes before league top scorer Ahmed Musa added a fourth three minutes later.

Nigeria could even afford the luxury of having Heartland midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu miss a penalty deep into the second half and still have time to complete the rout when made amends by putting icing on the Nigerian goal scoring cake on 84 minutes.

The Eagles meet Senegal's Teranga Lions on Tuesday, with the semi finals coming up on Friday.

In Group B, Ghana hit Togo 2-0 while Burkina Faso spanked Liberia 3-1 at the Gateway International Stadium in Ijebu Ode on Saturday.

On Monday, Liberia will tackle Ghana while Burkina Faso try Togo for size.

Nigeria's local Super Eagles came from a goal down at half time to beat Senegal 2-1 and confirm their place as group winners going into the semifinals of the WAFU Cup tournament in Abeokuta.

With a semi-final place already assured, Daniel Amokachi made several changes to his regular starting eleven in his final group game, and the gamble seemed set to backfire when his second string team went behind in the first half.

Amokachi was forced to thrown on Ikechukwu Ibenegbu and Gbolahan Salami in the second half. The Heartland man was quick to justify his inclusion, drawing the Super Eagles level, before the second substitute Salami secured victory.

The win keeps Nigeria's perfect record intact, and also keeps them on course for a meeting with Ghana in the Final.

The Black Stars won the Under-20 event which preceded this tournament and are favourites, along with Nigeria, for the title.

Utaka hopeful of World Cup call

John Utaka is still nursing hopes of joining Nigeria’s World Cup party, despite being frozen out of the team in recent months.

Utaka was left out of the latter stages of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying campaign, and was not included in the squad for the African Nations Cup in Angola under former coach Shuaibu Amodu.

But with new coach Lars Lagerback at Wembley to watch him make a 33-minute appearance for Portsmouth in their shock FA Cup semifinal victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Utaka is confident he is working his way back into favour.

“I am happy with my form lately and am looking forward to taking that form to the World Cup,” he said.

The Nigerian was named Portsmouth’s Player of the Month and says it is an indication he is back in shape

“Winning the award is a clear indication that I am fully back and ready to go. And it would be great to play at the World Cup. God willing, I will be in South Africa.”
