Respect the Nations

GHANAIAN BORN Marcel Desailly has predicted that the final of the 2008 African Cup of Nations will be between Ghana and the Ivory Coast. He told the Voice of Sport: “If Ghana starts well I believe they have the capacity of winning the tournament. Even though captain Stephen Appiah is injured they still have good potential.

https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/40085000/jpg/_40085046_desailly_empics270.jpg
Marcel Desailly

When you look at the Ivory Coast team that played in the last World Cup from Kolo Toure at the back to Didier Drogba upfront, they are a quite complete team.” The BBC commentator added: “Some surprises could come. South Africa are motivated because their tournament is coming up in two years time, but I cannot tell you who is going to win.” Desailly dismissed the chances of the Super Eagles of Nigeria claiming: “Nigeria is in a very difficult group with Ivory Coast. They do not have the talent that can make a difference because Okocha does not play for them anymore. “There is a lot of conflict inside. The ego is very high. If they manage to resolve the problems then they have the potential to do good things.” Talking passionately about the continued club verses country row Desailly stated: “I am upset. I put myself into a players situation. When we start the season everybody knows the schedule.

https://www.slamxhype.com/images/posts/adidaswawaaba.jpg

Take Portsmouth for example, they know at the start of the season they will have to release players, as does Barcelona who has to release Eto’o. “They should not put players in trouble like this. If a player is injured, give him the possibility to heal but in his country with the staff he is working with. Do not try the tricky, tricky thing. The clubs should organise themselves and respect the competition. “The African Cup of Nations is a major competition. FIFA should make more sanctions against these clubs. They should be very hard on clubs who do not release players on time.” Born in Ghana and then going onto win the World Cup with France few players can debate the pro’s and con’s on playing for your country of residence over your country of birth, Desailly says the choice is often a difficult one but one that’s down to the individual. He said: “I have no advice. Normally you have to help the young but it depends on what age they come to Europe. It depends on his parents and if they are living with them in Europe. “You do not know if he wants to get close to his culture so there is no advice. Take my example. I came to France when I was four and played for all the national teams. When I reached the moment to play for the full national team it was natural to play for France. Ghana had not done the correct thing to try and catch me. Each of them has to choose in respect of their own reality.”

More Americans think US. ready for black President

Four decades after Martin Luther King Jr.'s death and just weeks after Barack Obama's win in the Iowa caucus a CNN poll finds more Americans than ever before believe the country is ready for a black president.Seventy-two percent of white Americans and 61 percent of black Americans surveyed in a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Monday say the nation is ready for a black commander in chief. That number is higher than it was two years ago, when 65 percent of whites and 54 percent of blacks felt the same way.

It's also higher than the proportion of either men or women 64 percent and 65 percent, respectively who currently believe the nation is ready for a woman in the White House. The top six concerns for both whites and blacks in making their presidential choice this year are exactly the same in the following order  the economy, Iraq, terrorism, health care, gas prices and Iran though blacks place a higher level of importance on all those issues. But the groups part ways over the issue of race relations. That concern is roughly as important as taxes to black voters this election year, with roughly four in 10 saying it will have a major impact on their presidential vote. But just 12 percent of whites feel the same.Roughly four in 10 individuals in both groups say that the country has fulfilled all, or at least a great deal, of King's dream. However, they have different views on whether King's dream will ever be fully realized in the United States. When asked whether race relations will always pose a problem in the United States, about half of black Americans, 52 percent, said yes and just 43 percent of whites shared that view, a decline from the 53 percent who answered the same way 15 years ago.The survey, which includes interviews with 1,393 adult Americans, including 743 whites and 513 blacks, was conducted by telephone January 14-17 and has a sampling error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

We need some luck, says Kanu

January 21 2008

"The Elephants" of Ivory Coast may be one of the tournament favourites for the 2008 African Nations Cup, but Group B rivals Nigeria believe they have enough in the tank to go past them today on their way to a third continental crown. This will be the fifth clash between the two west Africa countries in this competition, with Nigeria winning two of these encounters. One of those victories was the pulsating 1994 semifinal in Tunisia as the teams battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw before the stalemate was settled on penalties as Nigeria went on to clinch their second Nations Cup title.

However, two years ago in Egypt the Ivorians won 1-0, courtesy of a Didier Drogba goal to reach the final. That has now set the tone for a grudge match."Our spirits are high to win in Ghana and now we just need a little bit of luck to do that," said Nwankwo Kanu, the oldest and the most experienced player on the Nigerian squad.Bulgaria-based midfielder Richard Eromoigbe said he is delighted with the Super Eagles' underdog tag."We are happy we are the underdogs."It's not something that worries us because we know what we are capable of. It's good that the pressure is on the Ivory Coast to win," Eromoigbe said."Win or lose, we will qualify for the quarterfinal," added top Nigerian official Amos Adamu."We have given the team our total support and we expect nothing less than the cup from them."This tournament forms part of our build-up towards the 2010 World Cup which we hope to qualify for and at least get to the semifinals."German coach Berti Vogts has instilled European discipline and organisation, particularly in the Eagles' defence, since he took charge in March, and so Joseph Yobo, Danny Shittu, Rabiu Afolabi, Onyekachi Apam and Taye Taiwo now allow very little to go past them. There has also been some exciting additions to the feared Nigerian attack in the form of Spain-based Ikechukwu Uche and Olympic team star Obinna Nsofor, who has been recalled after he was shut out for several months. The Nigeria Football Association have endured a barrage of criticism over the choice of Malaga, Spain, as training camp ahead of the tournament. A section of the local media insisted that the weather in Spain was too cold and far from being a suitable place to prepare the team because they will play under hotter conditions in Ghana.Otherwise this has been one of the best preparations by Nigeria for a major competition as they trained together for at least 10 days and tested their readiness to take on the cream of African football with friendly matches against Australia, Switzerland and Sudan. The issue of money, which has often been a flashpoint between the players and authorities, has been settled well ahead of time and so the players know that they would earn a bonus of $49 000 each by winning the cup.
The only injury doubt for Nigeria is Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu, who is one of eight Nations Cup debutantes in the Eagles squad. In spite of Didier Drogba's huge influence on this team, the Elephants are not a one-man band.
Arsenal centrehalf Kolo Toure is a tower of strength and efficiency in the defence and Didier Zakora and Barcelona ace Yaya Toure pull the strings in midfield, while the tricky Aruna Dindane compliments the physical presence of Drogba upfront.

Here are just a few of the irregularities from the Clinton campaign that have come to my ears, before I tell my own story. Word on the ground is that we have video of some of these shenanigans as well.

UPDATE: The wording of the actual Party rules are unclear. At this point, it appears that the Hillary campaign may simply have interpreted the rules differently, rather than deliberately engaging in voter suppression. Regardless, however, the State Party interpreted the rules in our favor. No less than foureight Obama captains (including myself) have reported that Clinton operatives tried to close the doors at 11:30--a full thirty minutes before the doors were supposed to close. In some cases I am hearing they actually succeeded, and voters were turned away before more knowledgeable people could get there to reopen them. The Clinton campaign had obviously told their people to be there by 11:30--and they knew that the higher the turnout, the worse for them.
At least two reports of Clinton operatives telling the uncommitteds and Edwards supporters, once their numbers were deemed not viable, that they had to leave. Whether these tactics succeeded or not, I do not know. Obviously, the Clinton campaign knew that voters not already in her camp were unlikely to join her camp (I know from my own experience that I convinced many more undecideds than my opponent Hillary operative), so they attempted to suppress their vote.
At least one report of Clinton operatives telling Obama supporters with viable numbers that they were not viable, and had to leave. From what I hear, some of those voters did in fact leave.
At least two reports (including my own) of disabled voters being coerced into the Clinton camp against their will, or even having their voter card filled out for them against their will.
A few reports of probable out-of-state Clinton operatives being counted among the voters--though since checking ID is illegal, and other Hillary operatives from in-state would vouch for them, it's impossible to say.
At least one report of two large men standing outside the door checking voters for whom they would support, and telling all Obama people they were at the wrong location.
At least one other report of Hillary operatives doing the check-in, and telling all Obama supporters that they were not on the list, could not register at the location (not true), and that they could not caucus.
At least one report of ballots being filled out in advance for Hillary in mass.
At least one report of Hillary supporters saying that the caucus location was just the Hillary room--and that Obama supporters had to go to a faraway location.
At least one report of a voter registration list only in Spanish, and only with Hillary supporters on it. Obama supporters later found the registration list with the rest of the people--in the garbage can of the ladies restroom.
Several reports of Hillary signs on the registration table, and Hillary supporters in Hillary shirts doing registration.
And there's much, much more. It's only just getting started to come through. How many of these tactics worked is unclear. Certainly, aggressive Obama volunteers like myself should have nipped many of these in the bud, but we're actually counting on concerned citizens who care--not machine operatives trained to cheat and brought up in the nearly criminal Nevada machine and the ruthless, conscience-less Hillary campaign.

Obama's Campaign Put this Press release Out

Statement from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe,

We currently have reports of over 200 separate incidents of trouble at caucus sites, including doors being closed up to thirty minutes early, registration forms running out so people were turned away, and ID being requested and checked in a non-uniform fashion. This is in addition to the Clinton campaign’s efforts to confuse voters and call into question the at-large caucus sites which clearly had an affect on turnout at these locations. These kinds of Clinton campaign tactics were part of an entire week’s worth of false, divisive, attacks designed to mislead caucus-goers and discredit the caucus itself.

We will investigate all of these thoroughly and would encourage anyone who had concern about actions at the caucus sites to call (866) 675-2008.

Politics › Re: In Support Of Kenyan Electoral Violence by Horus(m): 1:57am On Jan 20, 2008
Kenya needs to nurture culture of non-violent mass action

A truism that is unacknowledged is that mass action or civil disobedience in Kenya is always peaceful when the State is not opposed to it. Consider the many incidents of mass action in Nairobi that make political statements and demands or disobey State orders  deliberations of bunge la wananchi at the Jeevanjee Gardens, the political rallies during the recent campaigns, the workers’ strikes and marches by hawkers and street children as well as musicians in lorries and music concerts in open places calling for struggles for human rights and social justice.

https://www.finalcall.com/artman/uploads/kenya01-15-2008.jpg

The State has invariably opposed mass action or civil disobedience on security grounds. What is termed security becomes political and is a denial of fundamental human rights. Key among the denied rights are freedom of assembly, expression and information as well as the right to organise. The May 31, 1997, mass action was not non-violent because of State intervention and police brutality. Both Mr Mwai Kibaki and Mr Raila Odinga were part of the mass action organised by the National Convention Executive Council (NCEC). Both will vividly recall the teargas they both were bombarded with at Central Park. The mass action on Saba Saba Day (July 7) of the same year was extremely brutal; security forces killed 14 people. The underlying political reason in all this police violence against peaceful and non-violent mass action was that President Moi did not want to listen to calls for a new constitution.

https://i1.turkishpress.com/i-i/SGE.TTO32.170108062357.photo00.quicklook.default-245x163.jpg

ODM wants to galvanise the anger of its supporters who believe President Kibaki stole the election. It is also making the point that the President is illegally in office and that his rule has no legal or moral basis. Its call now seems to be the rerun of the presidential election. The party’s position seems to enjoy significant regional and international sympathy, albeit a lack of political support from either quarters. ODM believes that continued domestic agitation is necessary for what it wants to see, and given the chance, it can organise a march of a million Kenyans in the city to demand a new presidential poll. President Kibaki will not authorise any mass action by ODM because he relies on the law as interpreted by lawyers close to him. His claim is that he was constitutionally declared winner by a constitutional organisation, the Electoral Commission. He also claims to be the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, having been sworn in by the Chief Justice.

https://news.therecord.com/images/assets/383041_3.JPG

Whether the Economist magazine calls his declaration as president a civilian coup or some other form of power grab, he is in power. He knows that mass action could also result in a civilian coup by ODM, and has mobilised his security systems adeptly to ensure no mass action takes place, peaceful or non-violent they may be. President Kibaki has given orders to the security agents to ensure any mass action is suppressed. His security systems have shown that they have enough teargas, water and live bullets to stop any such action. Informed by the NCEC mass action of 1997, he knows that he has to follow in the footsteps of the colonialists, Mzee Kenyatta and President Moi by using force to maintain peace, law and order to enable him to rule at all costs. And the position may have a following among some Kenyans, but definitely not ODM and its supporters. Mass action is a double-edged political sword. Invariably, the State is not blamed for the violence. Whoever organises it runs the risk of being blamed for State-sponsored violence. In 1997, it was alleged that the security systems hired criminals to break into shops to discredit the reform movement.

https://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2008/WORLD/africa/01/04/kenya.newelection/art.kibaki.gi.jpg

For example, Jeshi la Mzee was funded by politicians close to President Moi to terrorise the movement. Peaceful and non-violent mass action must grow to be part of the democratic culture in Kenya, and it is in the interest of the State to promote it. But it should send in security forces to guarantee the citizens security and safety and to ensure freedom of assembly, expression and information as well as the right to organise. Kenya’s history has it that whenever democratic dissent is brutalised, it goes underground. The December 12th Movement, Mwakenya and other social movements of the 1970s and 80s took root because of the authoritarian, undemocratic and dictatorial rule of the Kenyatta and Moi Kanu regimes. These underground movements used leaflets to agitate for change. So-called seditious publications such as Pambana and Mpatanishi called for democratic reforms. But the social movements were not armed. Kenya has since seen the emergence of criminal armed militias. Nobody has carried out research on the politics of the illegal militias. The State needs to be very careful how it handles dissent, for if it goes underground and is armed, it can have disastrous consequences. Kenya can stop such an eventuality right now by nurturing a positive culture of peaceful and non-violent mass action.

Hillary Clinton Staffer Resigns Over Barack Obama Hoax e-mail

WASHINGTON (AP) _ A volunteer for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign in Iowa is resigning after forwarding a hoax e-mail about Barack Obama. The chain e-mail suggests Obama is a Muslim who wants to destroy the United States by being elected to its highest office. The Illinois senator is a member of the United Church of Christ and has never been a Muslim.
Judy Rose, a Clinton coordinator in Jones County, Iowa, forwarded the e-mail without comment to eight people. A woman who serves with Rose on the Jones County Democratic Central Committee says Rose wanted to show people how dirty politics is and did not agree with the e-mail's content.
Obama's advisers say they accept the Clinton campaign's word that they did not authorize the e-mail.

Why are some people subjected to bodily damage from the sun and others aren't?

Answer:
Because some people have more Melanin than others. The amount of Melanin in a persons body determines the rate of damage the Ultra Violet Rays of the sun can cause. The higher percentage of Melanin in a person's body the less they will be affected by the Ultra Violet Rays. Melanin produces Brown to Black eyes,Skin tone and 9 Ether hair (wooly kingly hair that looks like the tops of trees when flying over them) Hummm! The people who are Melanin recessive beings have a deficiency which produces Lighter skin, Lighter eyes, and 6 Ether blonde hair. Melanin acts as a filter to prevent damage of the delicate deeper layers of skin, by the penetration of Ultra Violet light.
That dosen't sound like a curse to be dark skinned, DO IT? Actually it sounds more like a protective gift from the Anunnaki.

It is an established fact that The Bible always mentioned leprosy in the context of the skin turning white because of a disease or in relationship to some specific wrong doing.

Leviticus 13:2 states:

"When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy. Then he shall be brought to Aaron, the priest, or to one of the sons of the priest".

verse 4: If the bright spot be WHITE in the skin of his flesh, the priest shall shut up him that has the plague seven days.

Verse 6: And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and behold, if the plague be somewhat DARK, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab; and he shall wash his clothes and be clean".

In the 2nd and 4th verse a bright or white spot in the skin is mentioned. A bright spot means a spot that is lighter than the regular dark brown / black skin. Moses said in the sixth verse: "And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day, and behold if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean, "

This is because the skin is getting darker like his original skin tone. A black skinned man or woman with these spots covering some part of their body is a partial leper. However, once the plague of the whiteness has covered his entire body from his head to his feet, the leper is clean. He has completely changed his color like the albino. The people who had this form of leprosy in the scriptures CAN BE classified as albino, and these albinos are the only white skinned Hebrews that existed in ancient times, they were the minority.

https://www.angelfire.com/ill/hebrewisrael/_derived/physicalapp.htm_txt_albino.gif

If Israel was a white skinned people in ancient times, why does The scriptures only speak of them as TURNING WHITE OR BECOMING WHITE WITH LEPROSY (in reference to their skin color).

2nd Kings 5:27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

https://www.angelfire.com/ill/hebrewisrael/images/vitiligo2.jpg
VITILIGO

Here are a couple pictures of two people with a disease called Vitiligo, which is somewhat similar to the above mentioned form of scriptural  leprosy. The top picture is that of a white-skin person with vitiligo. A white skinned person with this disease may start to notice the spots in their skin after they have gotten a tan, otherwise the white spots from vitiligo can go unnoticed.

https://www.angelfire.com/ill/hebrewisrael/images/Vitiligo2blackhand.jpg

This picture is a black skinned person with vitiligo. The white spots can be seen on black skin as soon as they appear. Notice how "white" the hands of the black-skinned person are compared to their original skin tone, which can still be seen. The hands of this black skinned person are now white as snow. This is how Moses "probably" would have seen his hands after removing it from his bosom. Singer, Michael Jackson says this is the same disease that turned his skin from dark brown to white.

https://www.angelfire.com/ill/hebrewisrael/images/tekestekahsay.jpg

"Black" MAN turns "WHITE".
This picture is a black skinned man who took a pill for his liver condition, and the pill turned his skin from black to white. Although most of his skin has turned white you can still see the dark patches on his face. Notice how Dramatic that is, this is how the people who had biblical leprosy would have looked.

This picture comes from an article in the links section of this site.

The name of the article is "Liver Pill turns black man white". Here is a very profound quote from the article: " In Mr. Kahsay's homeland, he is shunned as a leper, as white pigment is considered a sign of the disease".  He is considered a leper or a person with leprosy in his homeland of Eritrea, because his skin has turned white.

Larry Patterson confirmed that he frequently heard Bill Clinton use "nigger" to refer to both Jesse Jackson and local Little Rock black leader Robert "Say" McIntosh. Longtime Clinton paramour Dolly Kyle Browning corroborated Patterson on Clinton's use of "nigger." "Not only did he use the 'N' word, he called him a 'GDN' [goddamn nigger], if you catch my drift," Browning told Fox News in 1999. [NewsMax, 17 July 2000] Brown also told NewsMax that the president would regularly make derogatory comments about African-Americans in private. "He has used the 'N' word before. Bill would make snide remarks about blacks behind their backs." [Carl Limbacher and NewsMax Staff, 17 July 2000]

Patterson said Hillary was no stranger to the "N" word either. He heard her say "nigger" "probably six, eight, ten times. She would be upset with someone in the black community and she would use the 'N' word, like, you heard they've got the president's brother on tape using the 'N' word." [NewsMax, 17 July 2000]

It's all in the family: Captured on videotape when Arkansas state police had Hillary's brother-in-law Roger Clinton under surveillance for dealing cocaine in 1984, Roger stated: "Some junior high nigger kicked Steve's ass while he was trying to help his brothers out; junior high or sophomore in high school. Whatever it was, Steve had the nigger down. However it was, it was Steve's fault. He had the nigger down, he let him up. The nigger blindsided him." [NewsMax, 17 July 2000]

Could someone have messed with the vote in New Hampshire?

That is what some people are wondering, after looking closely at the totals in the votes for surprise Democratic primary victor Hillary Clinton, and for Barack Obama, who placed instead of winning as all the polls had predicted he would. And thanks to candidate Dennis Kucinich, we are likely to find out. Kucinich today filed a request, and a required $2000 fee, to order up a manual recount of the machine ballots cast in the state.
Polls taken as late as the day before the Tuesday vote showed Obama up by 10 to 15 points over Clinton, whom he had just beaten the week before in Iowa, but when the votes were counted, Clinton ended up beating Obama in New Hampshire 39.4 per cent to 36.8 per cent. In a replay of what happened in Ohio in 2004, exit polling reportedly also showed Obama to be winning the New Hampshire primary.
When that's not what happened, shocked polling firms and surprised pundits, all of whom had been expecting a big Obama win, were left stumbling for explanations for the Hillary comeback from an 8 per cent drubbing in Iowa (even the Clinton campaign, whose own internal polling had predicted her defeat, were at a loss). Explanations ranged from her teary eyed final public appearance before primary day and some sexist heckling she had received, to dark talk about a wave of hidden racism in the voting booth.
But there were anomalies in the numbers that have some people suggesting something else: vote fraud.
What has had eyebrows raised is a significant discrepancy between the vote counts done by voting machine, and the ones done by hand.
In New Hampshire, 81 per cent of the voting was done in towns and cities that had purchased optical scan machines from the Diebold Election Systems (now called Premiere Election Solutions), a division of Diebold Corp., a company founded by and still linked to wealthy right-wing investors. In those towns, all voting was done on the devices, called Accuvote machines, which read paper ballots completed by voters who use pens or pencils to fill in little ovals next to the candidate of their choice. The ballots are then fed into, read, and tallied by the machines. The other 19 per cent of voting was done in towns that had opted not to use the machine, and to use hand-counted paper ballots instead.
The machine tally was Clinton 39.6 per cent, Obama 36.3 per cent - fairly close to the final outcome. But the hand-counted ballot count broke significantly differently: Clinton 34.9 per cent, Obama 38.6 per cent.
Could something have happened in those machines to shift some votes away from Obama or some of the other candidates in the race, and over to the Clinton total?
If all the votes cast had split the way the hand counts split, Obama would have won New Hampshire by over 10,000 votes, instead of losing to Clinton by about 5500 votes.
"My suspicion is that nothing untoward happened here," says Doug Jones, a professor of computer sciences at the University of Iowa and a member of the board of examiners that approved the use of the same Diebold optical scanning machines in Iowa. "But at the same time, the Diebold machines are vulnerable to viruses that can be spread through the machines by the PCMCIA memory cards, and there are other things that can go wrong too. I'd be much happier if they had a routine random audit procedure in New Hampshire."
A random audit, he says, would involve doing hand counts of some towns' optical scan ballots, and comparing those results with the results of the machine reading of those same ballots, as recorded election night.
While California does conduct such random audits as a matter of course, most states, including New Hampshire, do not. According to the New Hampshire Secretary of State's office, any recount of ballots would have to be requested by a candidate, and would have to be paid for by the candidate making the request.
An official in the press office of Obama's campaign in Chicago, contacted on Wednesday, claimed not to know about the discrepancy between the machine and hand-counted ballots. She said that there was no plan to call for a hand count of machine ballots.
As Prof. Jones notes, requiring a candidate to initiate any hand count makes such hand counts unlikely, since unless the evidence of vote tampering or fraud is overwhelming, such a call would open the candidate to charges of "poor loser."
Kucinich, in making his recount request, resolved that problem.
There is good reason to be suspicious of the results. The counting of the machine totals, in New Hampshire as in all states using the Diebold machines, is handled by a private contract firm, in this case Massachusetts-based LHS Associates, which controls and programs the machines' memory cards. Several studies have demonstrated the ease with which the memory cards in the Accuvote machines can be hacked, with some testers breaking into the system in minutes.
There are, to be sure, alternative quite innocent possible explanations for the discrepancy between the machine and hand votes for Clinton and Obama. All the state's larger towns and cities, like Nashua, Concord and Portsmouth, have gone to voting machines. While there are many small communities that have also opted for machines, it is almost exclusively the smaller towns and villages across the state that have stayed with hand counts-most of them in the more rural northern part of the state. So if Obama did better than Clinton in the small towns, and Clinton did better in the large ones, that could be the answer.
But that explanation flies in the face of logic, historic voting patterns, and most of the post election prognosticating.
If it is true that there was "behind the curtain" racism involved in people saying to pollsters that they were for Obama, while privately voting against him, surely it would be more likely that this would happen in the isolated towns of northern New Hampshire where black people are rarely to be seen. Clinton was also said to have fared better among people with lower incomes-again a demographic that is more prominent in the rural parts of the Granite State. Finally, Obama, in New Hampshire as in Iowa, did better among younger voters, and that is the demographic group that is typically in shorter supply in small towns, where job opportunities are limited. Furthermore, in Iowa, it was in the larger municipalities that Obama fared best, not in the rural towns, so how likely is it that his geographic appeal would be reversed in New Hampshire?
David Scanlan, New Hampshire's deputy secretary of state for elections, whom I contacted Thursday, said that while town election officials are required to do test runs of the Diebold machines in the days before an election, "to make sure that they are reading the ballot markings accurately," and that at that point the machines and the memory cards are sealed until the actual election day, there is no way for his office to independently conduct a post balloting test. The ballot boxes are sealed and the only way they can be opened if for a candidate to request (and pay for) a manual recount, or for a court to order one." Scanlan says that the same is true for the voting machines and the memory cards. While the sealed ballots are retained "for years," however, the memory cards will be back in the hands of the contractor, LHS Associates, in "a few months," to be erased and prepared for use in the general election next November.
Scanlan says that the state legislature is currently considering legislation to provide for routine audits of machines after elections, but that won't help this election cycle.
Scanlan said that because the machines are freestanding, there is no chance of their being hacked from the outside, but critics note that the hacking can be done in advance to the memory cards, which can pass changes to each other like a virus as each is programmed for a particular election.
Jonathan Simon, an attorney and co-founder of the group Election Defense Alliance, says that the vote discrepancies between machine and hand counts in New Hampshire's Democratic primary are troubling, and defy easy explanation.
"The trouble is, whenever you have a surprise result in an election, and it runs counter to the polls, the media always say the problem is the polling, not the counting." But he adds, "The thing is, these things always work in one direction-in favor of the more conservative candidate, and that defies the law of quantum mechanics."

I think black people need to support black people, and stop slavishly following this white woman who tries to act like the black messiah. Throw off your chains, before our ancestors in heaven become too ashamed.
I'll be damned If I vote for a Clinton, trying to be black always at election time, but when it comes to changing racial politics, all we can get out of the Clinton's is a little more welfare money.Wake the hell up!!.Vote Barack Obama!!,not because he is black, but because Senator Barack Obama seems to be the HEALTHIEST of the whole lot.

Arizona Governor. Napolitano to Endorse Obama

Friday, 11 Jan 2008

PHOENIX  --  Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president on Friday, citing his message of hope in supporting his candidacy over chief rival Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Napolitano visited the Illinois senator's Phoenix campaign office to endorse him during a conference call with Obama and reporters. She planned to attend a Thursday evening rally with Obama in Las Vegas.
The endorsement by a female governor in a state now regarded as winnable by a Democratic nominee is a major gain for Obama. Arizona is among 24 states holding primaries or other delegate-select events on Feb. 5.
"This is a crucial moment and it's a critical time and a critical race," said Napolitano, who in 2004 endorsed John Kerry weeks after he won the Arizona primary.
Long regarded as a near-lock for Republicans, Arizona went for Bill Clinton in 1996, the first time a Democratic presidential candidate won the state since Harry Truman in 1948.
"This endorsement is based on my belief in your leadership and vision and the fact that we need a new message of hope and solidarity of coming together in Washington, D.C.," Napolitano told Obama.
Napolitano said her decision in favor of Obama over Clinton didn't revolve on gender or race.
"This election is fundamentally about change," she told Arizona reporters after the conference call. "It's about a new vision in Washington, D.C. It's about bringing people of different areas of the country together, it's about bringing people of different parties together, people of different ages together. To me, Sen. Obama is evidence of that change that we need."
It's unclear what role endorsements play but Napolitano is popular in Arizona and her move may have an impact on undecided voters, said Tom Volgy, a University of Arizona political science professor and former Tucson mayor.
"On the other hand, these kinds of (voter) decisions, particularly in the primaries, are often deeply emotional acts," said Volgy, a Democrat who said he hadn't yet chosen a candidate to back.
Napolitano narrowly was elected governor in 2002 but easily won re-election in 2006, potentially providing Obama with a statewide network of supporters.
"I'm sure that's what the Obama campaign is hoping for," said state Democratic Party Chairman Don Bivens, who stressed that he is neutral in the primary contest.
Clinton supporter Jim Pederson, a former state Democratic Party chairman and unsuccessful US. Senate candidate in 2006, said he remained encouraged despite Napolitano's move.
"The governor is very popular in the state and I'm sure it will swing a few voters, but I think by the time Feb. 5 rolls around, Sen. Clinton will carry the day in Arizona," Pederson said.
While Sen. John McCain enjoys favorite-son status in Arizona on the Republican side, the state is regarded as wide open for Democratic candidates in the Feb. 5 primary.
No recent public polls have been conducted on the Democratic presidential race in Arizona, but polls conducted in October and November showed Clinton leading Obama.
Obama on Friday also picked up the endorsement of former Sen. Gary Hart, a Colorado Democrat and two-time presidential candidate.
Hart called the Illinois senator "the embodiment of what is best about our nation" and disputed criticism that Obama is inexperienced or lacks national security credentials.
Napolitano, 50, was elected governor in 2002 and re-elected in 2006. She previously was US. attorney for Arizona during most of the Clinton administration and then served a four-year term as the elected attorney general.
She was mentioned in early speculation as a possible running mate for Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry in 2004 and made a prime-time speech at the Democratic National Convention. She's been mentioned as a possible Cabinet appointee in a Democratic administration.
While Napolitano deflected questions on whether she'd serve in an Obama administration, he said during the conference call that she is "enormously talented" and would be an asset to an administration.
However, if Napolitano were to leave the governor's in midterm, Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer would become governor. That would mean Democrats surrender control over the executive branch as well as much of the party's influence at the Republican-led Legislature.
Napolitano has held top leadership posts in the National Governors Association and the Western Governors' Association. She currently serves on the executive committee on the Democratic Governors Association.
She is regarded as a possible candidate in 2010 for the US. Senate seat now held by McCain.

We have a record of Hillary Clinton's accomplishments, and none of it promises a change for the better. She has gone from being a greedy corporate lawyer to the wife of a governer/president, to senator. Much of it by exploiting her marriage to Bill for which she has paid by putting up with marital infidelities that would have caused a divorce for any self-respecting woman who cared about her dignity before her career. Her husband Bill Clinton committed adultery in the White House with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The Clintons are Not a good moral image for America.
