I would look at my drives first, so I'll choose an SSD over Sata anyday.

reason: SSD is more real-time rugged, boots faster, etc...... than a Sata(wins on a price range)......although will wear out faster.

suggestion

why not go for a 2x240GB SSD...... I mean physically different SSDs(one main and one backup) not a 1-SSD with 2-partitions.

'C:/wamp/www/chief/log'; - is your path to your log file.

example:

$log_path : '//home/username/public_html/directory-name/logs';
$tmp_path : :'//home/username\public_html/directory-name/tmp';

$log_path : The path where the logs should be stored. Joomla should automatically fill in this folder while autoinstalling. . It's not critical to the operation of the site, so if it's wrong you will only know it if you try to check the logs.

$tmp_path : This is an important setting and should be filled in properly. Many problems found when moving sites are caused because joomla is looking for the old tmp folder. If you get any errors regarding the tmp folder check this path and make sure it's correct..

1) what happened to your sidebar - why is there a big white space even on post-pages

2) there is also a huge white space at the top, before the border of the site

3) your menu: should be 'Home', then others

4) do you really need to insert an advert inside the privacy policy page? thats a nobrainer

5) there are rules for publishing on the web and when you break those rules, your publications are as good as trash (no pun intended).

for example: you inserted 1-huge advert at the top of your post and another one at the end. The post itself still has an inset image. The advert is even bigger than the inset image.

Conclusion: INFORMATION RIOT: there are too many distractions on the page itself, I dont know, I cant see where the real piece of quality information is. Worse then your post is only a 1-liner. Thats another nobrainer. The adverts and images drown out the real information.

Your adverts are not supposed to distract people from reading available information. If you publish long posts with a couple of paragraps / sections with about 5-6lines each, then you can throw in an image or 2 only or 1-advert inside; not multiple adverts.

when you say "sales page", a lot comes to my mind.

a) a small shop just for selling a handful of products: since you have wordpress already, the rest is just a breeze.
b) a sofisticated shop - since you have wordpress, its still just a breeze
c) or maybe you dont want to use wordpress for your sales-page; its still a breeze

Note: as a sales page, there should be an ordering process, customer information portal; potential customer might be given payment options, ex: PayPal, etc

Give me an example of a "sales page" you came across online, with features you would like on yours, Ill advise you how to go about it.

Besides since you think a lot of "CMSs are poo", you might not realize that great web-developers are the ones who can conceptualize a CMS and realize it with bunch of scripts - regardless of the project.

You bought a domain name yesterday from godaddy.com, did you buy hosting as well?

If you bought hosting and domain from godaddy, in just a couple of hours your site will be up and running; else you could buy hosting from another provider(for this, you need to map your domain to your host, etc).

Hello there.

Let me give you 3-options:

1) publish your sales page as a regular wordpress page and add a "sales" item to your menu
You have a wordpress(self hosted blog... since you are talking about domains) - thats all you need.

2) if you really want to use your prepared ms-frontpage page as your sales page, you can embed it. There are plugins that can take care of such.

Now, lets assume your MS-frontpage "sales page" is like a small website, like an html website with an index page and other pages, etc, just place all the files in a directory, for example, named "sales"....could be in your wordpress directory, such that visitors can even type something like: www.thisismyblogdomain.com/sales.... and the sales-index page will serve all the corresponding pages.

Ofcourse you need to add links back to the main blog somewhere.

Ps: you can also embed your msword document as a page by itself

3) since you have a domain package, etc; I assume you have cpanel etc.
- create a subdomain, ex: sales.thisismyblogdomain.com
- create a folder inside your root folder and map your subdomain to that folder.
- place your sales page and any other sales-related pages into the folder
finish

#3 is about the same as #2 just that #2 doesnt have a subdomain mapped to the sales-folder.

No pun intended, but THERE IS NOTHING LIKE FREE UNIQUE CONTENT.

If its free, its not unique and at the end of the day, you would find the same content somewhere on the internet. You might later be accused of forgery(copy-paste). The advise I have for everyone is to sit down and pen down original content.
