@Ayusman 16 Buy and install a better antenna that has booster. You will get more channels. Otherwise you will have to be patient until when the signals are increased by the service provider. |
Flodel:@Flodel, The Star Tv decoder is sold for 9k. It uses normal Tv antenna (not dish) to receive stations(now 42) like BBC, Aljazeerah, MGM Movies, BET, Etv Mtv, NTAe, NTAk etc. It has not come to kwara state yet. |
zenus:@Zenus, I have read that page you referred me to since, the illustrations there do not answer my question of merits and demerits of series/parallell conection of baterries for energy storage in solar power/inverter system. Pls help. |
@Geoge D, Babajiroro of Nigeria FTA (courtesy Enitan2002) could you pls confirm the merits and demerits of parallel vs series connection of batteries to store energy. Does it have any effect on the inverter, the charge cotroller or the batterry themselves? |
@George D, A promise kept. This is an ambitious project man! It must have gulped a mil. Your setup is better than generator, the only problem is the initial capital outlay. Go ahead and coach us. We are all ears, abi na EYES? Congrats, 24hr FTA viewing without noise, smoke, fuel or NEPA bills. |
From the Begining austinooo:And NOW austinooo:@All Hurray, Hurray Star Tv has one satified customer in Austinooo. Kudos to Nairaland who provided the platform for the interaction. |
@Litaninja You could get them from a Panel Beater or shop that sells FTA accessories. |
Rextab:@Rextab The above was addressed to all but I could not understand your message because of the abbreviations. Or was it meant for a select few who could decipher it? The essence of any and every communication is to reach out and be understood by the intended receipient. Please clarify. |
litaninja:@Litaninja Thanks for the interest in the Multi-LNB setup. The pictures have already been published on pages 5 and 6 of this Thread. I bought the holders off the shelf and they are straight not curved. My procedure is crude but effective. No mathematics, no compass, no meter, just common sense. You first of all set up the primary LNB and get a good green signal strength. Once you get the nilesat stations you are good to go for the second LNB which will give you Zimbo, madascar, MTA International etc. You hold the LNB down a straight line (imaginary) in the direction that the dish faces. By trial and error you will get a green signal that will enable you scan and get Zimbo and the others. A litte bit further down with the third LNB you will get the MultiTV if you have an Mpeg-4 receiver. I hope I was not too sketchy. Tracking Gurus in the house will further assist. eg Twinskenny, George D, Enigma, microgiant, olofofo , |
@Olofofo @twinstaye Please do something about some of our members who opened multiple threads on the same subject, it is unethical. If they do it for marketing purposes, they should be sanctioned and their content deleted. It is an eyesore and distracting. |
@Illish Yes ooh! Post the frequencies if they are free. I am more interested on the Mpeg4 frex. You have aroused so many members' interest. ![]() |
Ogaga4Luv:@Ogaga4luv You are a gentleman Ogags so don't blaspheme. This thread is for giving Honour to whom it is due- George De Best. |
Bolaraji:@Bolaraji Your problem is weak signals experienced in your location. Pls use a good external antenna eg Binatone or buy from them. And when it rains or cloudy expect poor reception or cracking pictures. |
iykemann:@Microgiant, That was sweet of you on answering that question. No criticism, no reprimand of the person. Just the link and everyone is happy. @All We should imbibe that culture. |
selade:@Selade, The price ranges from 16k to 18k depending on the supplier. But ensure that you get a one year guarrantee in case of unavoidable system failure. Then you can always return the receiver for a free fix. There are Gurus in the house that can assist. eg Olofofo @Litininja Thanks for the commendation. Knowledge has no boundaries, it is only limited to the individual's understanding. |
@microgiant Thanks for the link to the Solar Energy Thread. Good content although no much postings since May. |
@George D, That will be Great. Can't wait for the Child Board posts! Psss, I heard about a new power source (Generator?) that does not use fuel or solar energy. If you have details include in your presentation as promised. |
@George D, Congrats on your solar project. When it is up and runing do let us in on the secret. We would love to have uninterruptible FTA viewing in our homes. |
twinstaiye:@ Enitan2002 You seem to be a bad influence on our Moderator, or else, where did he learn to kill his subjects with acidic words? You are known for your vast knowledge of FTA and sharp skills of tongue lashing. I was your victim, and so were others. Imagine the Moderator calling me Master which means my days (on earth?) are numbered! Pls intercede for me, I am a novice still learning the ropes. Let his Imperial Majesty understand that I am one of his law abiding subjects. I Dou Balee with utmost respect. |
twinstaiye:@Twinstaye, Oga Moderator, you are talking theory while Enigma and I are talking practical. There are practicals done that defy theoritical logic. Pls take no offence at my unsolicited observation. |
magaddai:@Magaddai Kindly check your box and also check postings above for the pictures |
@ Blexxonmak @George D Your kind words have really motivated me. I will cover the gaps as Blexxomak suggested. Will report findings tomorrow. Thanks for the TIP.Georgie would make for a Diplomat anyday unlike some people who use grammar to hurt members. @Solo Ing1 Thanks for the tutorial on reducing jpeg file sizes. Better to teach a person how to fish than provide the fish to him. May God increase you in resourcefull knowledge |
twinstaiye:@Twinstaye You are completely wrong about your assumptions of " MY TYPE". I search the child boards like anyone else. I read this thread always and not just a claim. Come off your high horse! @Microgiant, I have posted the pix to your gmail. Thanks. |
Jesu de:@Jesu De @Freshp @Magaddai I have taken four shots of the dish with a high res digital camera but each file is more than 1.2MB. I just realised that this forum has a restriction of 200KB as file size to be attached. Pls give me your Emails otherwise I will have to re-snap using a camera phone which is 1 Mega Pixel. See Baba Egun's contribution and pix above. He has bailed me. @Baba Egun Thanks for coming to my aid. My own arrangement is slightly different but achieves the same. |
George_D:@ George D, Oga teacher, don't be caught trying. Breaking and distributing codes is not our pastime. Push it to the Backyard. Everything here is legal. Abi Gurus of the house (Olofofo, Sammu, Enitan, twinstaye etc)? @All, Formal Launch of the Star TV with NTA is taking place soon. Infact by the time full digital transmission starts in Naija, the normal analogue TV will not be able to receive stations without some form of Adapter/Decorder. Enjoy the view. |
freshp:@Freshp Thanks for probing further without condemning. You really have an open mind. I will post the pix shortly. |
Jesu de:@ Jesu De Be patient, tomorrow I will post the image. |
magaddai:The dish is 1.8M and is focussed to Nilesat position. I have one Diseq Switch that collects signals from the 3 LNBs and sync them to the 9x receiver. The nilesat LNB is focussed to centre of the dish while the Madagascar LNB is located at the down (west) of the centre LNB. The MultiTv LNB is riding on the Madagascar LNB further down. Everything FTA and nothing Illegal. @Zenus, Don't be surprised. In FTA many things are possible. The only limitation is your applicable knowledge and experience. Ask Enitan, he is Custodian of FTA knowledge. |
enitan2002:@ Project You have shot yourself in the FOOT. The gurus in this house acquired their knowledge thro honesty and diligence. You want to make profits but not ready to come out clean. You are lucky that your kinsman, DVB, has assisted you despite your modus operandi. @Enitan2002, Dont be easy on this guy. Take him to the cleaners pls. Enitan, were you once a scammer too? I noticed that you read his act quicker! |
magaddai:@ Magaddai, That was a "stray signal" you got to catch AIT Kaduna. I cant explain that but you MIGHT not get it again. What is the size of your dish and LNB make? @ George D, Olofofo, Enitan2002, Pls your opinion is important on this. |
enitan2002:@ Enitan2002 Sir softly, softly oga mi! Empty Barrels, they say, Make the Most Noise. Kudos to George D, Olofofo, Sammy, Twinstaiye, blexxonmak and several silent others who make contributions without injury. |
@ Twinstaye If you shut this Season 5 FTA Thread where else will we get relevant information on FTA? Ever since I started reading this Thread I have stopped calling Technicians to adjust my dish. I got wind of MultiTV here and I promptly got a 9x. I have one dish and 3 LNBs cleverly mounted (trial & error) to receive MultiTV, Nilesat and Madagascar. |
