Thankfully my Canada visitor visa has been approved after several months of waiting!

The best available ticket from LOS-YYZ is United Airlines with a layover in Washington Dulles Airport. I'm aware that I would have to go through customs in Washington and would need to get my luggage and re-check for my connecting flight to Toronto, I also have a U.S. visa so I should be fine getting through.

Is 4 hours enough time to go through this whole process or would it be recommended to go for a longer transit time instead? Has anyone gone to Canada from Naija via a U.S. transit?

I'm simply telling people to look at the whole picture. Again, ignorance is not an excuse. If jumping from naija to Canada, why doesn't this person do the full research ? If they did, they'd know nothing is guaranteed anywhere you go, and there may be a chance you'll never practice X (insert profession) in Canada.

My friend let's stop playing games and be direct. A typical Nigerian coming to Canada for example, wants the big boy title, then the money. I'm saying nobody cares about the big boy title in Canada. Chase your objectives not your dreams. That objective is making money and having a better quality of life. The superior complex ingrained in a typical Nigerian is showing in this post.

That "floor cleaner" is a professional building service attendant. He earns 100k in Canada, lives in a better house than 99% of doctors in naija, holds a Canadian passport, and when you compare cost of living; that doctor in naija is living in poverty compared to that "floor cleaner".

That Uber driver can package his skills and become a professional driver, while moving out of Toronto. He can work for the TTC or any municipal transit driver and make up to 100k per year with a government gold plated pension. But they'd never take that advice because they're too busy looking for a "Better career opportunities", aka trying to impress people who don't feed them or their family.

I don't understand how my family is part of this discussion, yet I'm projecting ? Not all your family members are perfect sir. You can't migrate to Canada if you come from poverty. Supportive family with different aspirations and "expectations". Just say you're too insecure to work certain jobs because of what your family would think of you. Again I repeat, the same family that doesn't feed you here in Canada.

My past hardship has allowed me to put things in perspective at all times. Again I repeat. Ignorance is no longer an excuse with most people having access to the internet. And Canada owes you absolutely nothing. If you don't know how to hustle in Canada or you can't make it in Canada, just say so. Stop trying to blame the system. Nigerians never look at themselves in the mirror.

I will summarize some of the important points that have been raised::

1. Nobody lured anybody to come to Canada. As a professional looking to relocate to another country, you must research, research, research. That includes talking to people on the ground that went ahead of you. You must find out the realities about getting into your target profession and develop your plan of how to get there. You must also be willing to reinvent yourself and choose a new path if your current path does not appear to lead to your preferred destination. Nobody coming into Canada in 2023/2024 should be surprised about the challenges in the job market or housing. You should have already discovered that through your research.

2. Your network is very critical. It's almost as if you can only grow as much as what you know, And what you know is largely dependent on who is around you. If you land and keep company with those that have given up on their dreams, you will soon give up on your dreams. If you keep the company of those that have big dreams and are constantly focussed on those dreams, you will find that you will readjust your own dreams and make them bigger, and then stay awake at night figuring out how to make it possible.

3. Practice delayed gratification. The best time to suffer and work hard in Canada is when you have just landed. That is the time you still have a lot of fire, but as time goes on, you start adjusting to the reality of the country making it difficult for you to make bold decisions. So if there are licensing exams to write, write them early. If you are choosing a new career path, choose it early.

4. Everything beautiful takes time. Your dream is going to take time. Just stay focused. Stay in your lane and keep building.

Everyone knows that migrants from the developing world use student visas as a means of domiciling in a country for a long time en route to naturalisation. So, we will be lying if we say we don't know what we are doing. How many international students from developing countries who studied in Canada returned immediately after their studies pre-Trudeau?

Gooday all, please I want to seek advise the best way to respond to my visa refusal with below remarks and also is it better to reapply from Nigeria?

I applied visit visa purpose for tourism for me, wife and two kids from middle east (OMAN) using the old portal last year April and we got refused November last year.

We have enough proof of funds both local currency and Nigeria bank statement, with company letter from the employers.

We have valid USA visa and other expired Schengen visas

We included landed property documents and company registration documents both in Naija and abroad but they rejected the visa application after 7 months with below remarks as follows:

Go and apply to Newyork board of nursing for a license and then write your Nclex. From there, there would be a million and one agencies willing to take you on. Hopefully the retrogression would have improved by then. You can do this alongside your express entry.

Hello everyone, I applied in 2019 for PR to join my wife who is a Canadian citizen, I was refused because the VO was not convicted our marriage was genuine because we applied immediately after our marriage ceremony, I met my wife online we dated for 6 years online before we got married, we met in person twice before our marriage, first time was for 2 weeks visit outside Canada and the second time was 3 weeks that was when we got married, since our refusal 2022 because the 2019 PR application too more than 2 years before we got refused due to the COVID pandemic, my wife have visited me twice 2022 and 2023 we celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary. We applied for a visitors visa to visit my wife in Canada to be able to celebrate Christmas together and also to meet with her family, my TRV was refuse February 8 2024. After the refusal we decided to apply for PR again when we got AOR we apply for a visitor visa dual intent for me to be about to visit my wife and celebrate our 5th year anniversary also addressed the refusal reason for the first visitor visa on the new application sadly I got another refusal. Do you think the reason for those refusal is because of my first PR refusal because the reason for the refusal is not really making sense to me. Now I am worried if this will affect our PR application in progress, PR Biometric done, Medical passed, sponsor approved just waiting for pre-arrival and PPR. I am so worried after all this refusal. Please what is your thoughts and opinions about my situation?

I already did a biometrics that will expire in 2029 but I wish to pay for another one for a ten years visa.

While filling the form, I dint see any option to opt for another biometrics. So I thought that it will be done differently after submission.

Now after submission, I saw online that I am meant to pay for biometrics and application fees together while applying . But that I can still make payment online and submit receipt on web form

Please has anyone experienced this before or seen someone that has? how long will it take to get a reply or letter for biometrics? Will this slow my application process? Or will it affect my application totally?🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
