Sir,The process for getting a visa from the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) doesn't speed up, even if you have an event coming up soon. Even if your event is next month, it won't make your visa process faster. Your visa could still be approved after your event has passed. However, it's unlikely you'll hear back by April because many people who applied in October are still waiting for updates, and you only applied a month ago. So, patience is key when applying for a visit visa to Canada.

I am a Canadian permanent resident myself who arrived from Nigeria as a PR holder. I can confirm that the process is fast after you are nominated. The next step is to apply for permanent resident status and mostly within six months, if all your documents are completed, you will be granted the PR. Firstly, it is easier when you apply canada visa from your home country with a USA visa on ur passport . It is faster. But now, being in the USA, you can try. If you are a regular traveler to the USA, it will also help your case. However, as a first-timer in the USA, I hope you have not overstayed because you need to explain why you are applying from the USA since you are not a USA resident or student.

Since you've been issued a TRV already, why not just go and come back and then, apply for a resident visa? Even your job permit/express entry application (hoping you've secured a job already cos job is hard now, somehow) would be given a boost cos you've visited and come back. The process would be expedited.

If you go now with your TRV, it's risky if you don't come back. This is a hard fact. How many people would the asylum favour? Does it even still work? I visited a friend in Chicago in 2018. Inside the building were 5 Nigerians who were in their late 40s and early 50s. They told me though they were in America, their final destination was Canada. Before I left the US, my friend said they had all left for Canada via the USA border. On getting there, one was lucky while the rem 4 were held by CABSA. They all had families back home. You don't want to go through all the risks naw.

Come back, prepare well for emigration through a legit means. Even if you apply as a student, your visa approval won't be an issue cos of the experience but you also need to meet the requirements which i believe you easily can, doing it on your own. Amazingly, you would still meet those who have chosen to stay back with their TRV, still running up and down for a solution by the time you go back. When I went to school in America, some of my friends who travelled same time as me on a B1/B2 visa who chose to stay back are still in America today, still no papers, nothing. Parents are old. I know my advice still would pass through some desperate guys' deaf ears but trust me, if you can apply via a legit means, your journey would be faster and smoother into life's comfort. Due to the delays from our immigration lawyer, we couldn't submit our visa earlier, and the Chinese New Year is approaching. However, since I have used this type of reservation for almost all of our family visas I have applied for and never encountered any problems before, I thought it was fine. But unfortunately, it resulted in us being refused. My question is, should we raise a webform and inform RICC about this refusal, or since it happened after the submission of our visa, should we just leave it? I did ask our lawyer and she said we can raise a webform and inform them but I'm just not sure if that's the right move to make.

No, there's no need to inform IRCC about a visa refusal that happens after you've submitted your application. IRCC typically only requests updates for changes in your status, such as marriage, divorce, or the birth of a new baby after you submited your application.

I've been aware of many students facing unemployment since last year. The current job situation in Canada is challenging, even for Permanent Residents (PR holders) and citizens. lol… even here in Nigeria, lots of these bootcamps out there promise students that they’d get jobs (remote and local) right after they’re done with the program.
You’d now see lots of them being frustrated coz they’ve not gotten any jobs related to what they studied during the boot camp.
There are solid bootcamps out there, but you as a person have to put in the work too. Don’t depend solely on what they teach you in these bootcamps, you also have to go further by studying extra.

When choosing a course or school, it's crucial to check tuition fees for affordability and confirm if the course offers a PGWP after completion. Whether applying for a student visa inside or outside Canada on a 5, 3, 10, or 20-year visitor visa doesn't significantly impact the process. A medical test which is cheaper in nigeria compare to inside canada, proof of funds (increasing from $10,000 to $20,635 CAD from Jan 1), and a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP) are still required. Applying inside or outside Canada doesn't guarantee approval or denial. Admission processes take time , so it better to start applying to schools even before u enter canada on visitor visa. Note: that you are not converting your visitor visa to a student visa; you are applying for a student visa, which is a different category of visa and you have to meet the requirement.

Recommendation for finance: in your next application, show proof of fund (bank statements - you and your husband), source of fund (pay slips, self employed - evidence of business transactions, if you use different account for salary, business and savings, include both bank statements - it shows evidence of what you earn/profit, where it is deposited and how it moves (savings and spending), letter of explanation - if there is any lump sum in the bank statements (as low as 300-500k: explain it).

Processing officer do not look at only the available money in your account. You have to show proof that it is available to you and the source of it. If the source cannot be verified, they deem it as inflated for visa purposes.

Some of this agent will use stolen credit card to pay visa fee or after payment will request a refund via the bank leading to a chargeback ..that main reason u now owing the crown. If you apply canada visa 1000 times it still refuse until you pay that money that was chargeback so contact ur agent to tell u the truth.

Do you include a letter from the said family doctor in canada becos having a kid in canada will not make ur applicatiom express but it will be term urgent only if u can proof the trip is for urgent medical reason backed by doctor letter.

I am providing this update in case it may be useful to anyone.
I am sharing a just completed WES evaluation for a School of Nursing with WES and the outcome is a Canadian equivalence of = Three years of Hospital study and training which I believe is equal to a bachelor’s degree as explained on IRCC site below:

"Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute"

what WES requested are:

1. Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Certificate of Registration and confirmation of enrollment status. (This was requested on NMCN website, you will pay a fee for this to be sent to WES electronically)
2. Academic Transcript from the School of Nursing and Nursing Registration Certificate.

Please note that it may be time-consuming as it depends majorly on the response time from your school / NMCN. but in this case, NMCN was fast.

So can you work as a nurse or practical nurse in canada with the evaluation or what next?

I read somewhere where it was stated that for that "Students must complete 6 months of studies in Canada to invite family or friends." Please can someone urgently throw more light on this. Is this true?

Does this mean that a wife who is a student and has done 1 month of studies cannot invite her husband and children until she has completed 6 months of studies?

Someone with experience should please help explain. Thank you.
