This advise is gotten from a seasoned immigration consultant. The IRCC keep changing the marking score just to reduce people they will give the visa.

The reason is why would you be in a rush to go and visit a spouse that will just be away for 1 year study. Have you not factored out the challenge before you agreed to embark on the journey? They are beginning to detect that the emphasis of missing my spouse we put up as reason to apply for visa is just an emotional blackmail.

On the other hand, everyone loves to do a 2 year course but you also know that it has to do with funds. The cheapest 2 year course will cost nothing less than 25k CAD which is about 30m Naira.....no be beans oh. New Brunswick and some province still offer PR pathways for a year course via Fed Express Entry + Student Connection.
The lawyer's suggestion may be correct. IRCC currently tends to control temporary immigration closely, especially regarding visitor visas. They are aware that some applications may be more about securing a visa than genuinely needing to visit a spouse. People need to research well before choosing a course or province, especially Ontario, which hosts the largest population of international students in Canada but does not offer many PR pathways, except for the Ontario Master's Stream, which is a 2-year program and only available if you graduate from selected universities in Ontario, which can be expensive. Many 1-year diploma students in Ontario end up either pursuing another program or moving to another province. IRCC is also looking to close the loophole of changing courses or schools within Canada to apply for a new visa each time you switch programs. Studying in Canada is not for the weak!

My spouse enrolled in a 2 year Diploma course and end of this month will be a year since our separation.

From what I hear now, you must be have been separated from your College spouse at least a year before IRCC can positively consider your spousal or family visit.

I will advise those whose spouse are running a year course to only apply to attend graduation as this one year requirements has badly affected spouse looking to join students with one year course except special cases where children are involved.
It's a common misconception that you need to be separated for a year before IRCC considers spousal or family visit applications. In reality, IRCC does not require spouses to be apart for a specific period before reuniting. It's a visitor visa, and you need to prove that you will return to your home country after your visit since you're not entitled to a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP). However, I am more concerned about spouses coming for a 1-year program without a solid plan for a PR (Permanent Residence) route. A 1-year course will only get you a 1-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and if you get a job offer, your spouse can also get an open work permit for 1 year. But 1 year goes by fast, and what’s next for the couples? Many are getting stranded now or looking for an LMIA, which is extremely expensive. To get PR, you will still need to return to the Express Entry pool, where factors like your age, provincial nomination, work experience, and IELTS scores will matter.
Education in canada is not cheap, and for a couple to spend over 20,000 CAD in tution with cost of living and still struggle to get PR after the program or face enrolling in another 1-year program just to complete 1 + 1 to get a 3-year PGWP is daunting. The path to PR is becoming increasingly challenging these days

That's it
You likely committed two offenses here. Firstly, specifically your response of "NO" to the question, "Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry, or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory? ..l guess you have a previous visa you did not disclose

Secondly, you have submitted a fake bank statement. You are given a chance to respond.

Please who has ordered for CGMS note before requesting for documents used in processing your application. I want to know if it's compulsory to print a consent form and sign or one should just ignore it
The consent form is simply an authorization to give IRCC access to your file for a third party approved by you. Since you are applying yourself, you do not need a consent form. If you want all the forms and files in your application, then select this option

What advice do u have for me..

Thank u ...
Please conduct your own independent research, as we all have different skills, and what works for person A in Canada or uk may not work for person B. Do not base your travel decisions on what just one person says. Try to research the destination thoroughly, especially when going to the Arab world, as it is a different environment. Before you quit your job, remember that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If anybody tells you the wage in a country, do not compare it to the naira. Instead, compare it to the cost of living in that country, including rent, transportation, food, and other services. Conduct thorough research on job availability in your destination, as having a work permit does not automatically guarantee a job since some countries have strict rules regarding practicing certain professions. Do not rush into any offer; instead, conduct in-depth research into opportunities.

What exactly can one use as home ties? Is one property enough or one needs to include family members. I am working on EE and tourist visa at the same time.
Demonstrating strong home ties includes property ownership, such as owning a house or land, which can be shown through title deeds and landed property documents, indicating financial investment in your home country. Family ties, supported by birth and marriage certificates, as well as family photos, highlight personal obligations that require your return.

Employment stability is crucial, with documents like employment letters and pay stubs showing you have a job to return to. If you own a business, registration certificates, financial statements, and tax clearance documents demonstrate significant commitments. Financial assets, including bank statements and investment portfolios, suggest economic stability.

Community involvement, such as participation in local or religious organizations, can be supported by membership certificates and letters from community leaders. Educational commitments, like ongoing studies, can be shown through enrollment letters. Legal obligations, including contracts, further illustrate your need to return.

These factors collectively establish a strong case for your intention to return to your home country after your visit but please focus more on the EE and the requirement as it has a long term benefit compare to tourist and with EE you can option for 100% gift deed and no need to proof any home ties.

Hello everyone,
I urgently need advice for my cousin who wants to apply for a visit visa to Canada. The process is proving to be quite challenging. He plans to visit Canada with his family. His wife and children have Irish passports, so they only need to apply for an eTA before he applies for his visa. Any guidance on the necessary documents and the application process would be greatly appreciated.
There's nothing challenging about applying for a Canada visit visa, as many videos are available on YouTube to guide you. He just needs to apply for an eTA for his wife and child, then include copy of the eTA approval and scan copy of data page their Irish passports in his own application. He should also attach other documents like bank statements, a work letter, property documents, any travel experience proof, or a foreign resident permit if living abroad

I received a refusal mail from ircc on the 27th of July. Submitted application:-27th of February 2024. Biometrics=8th of March 2024. Refused Visa:-28th of July 2024. Purpose of travel:-Conference which will hold on the 24thof this August. Can someone please advise me on what next to do. I was invited as a speaker and I submitted all the necessary documents too
How is the conference connected to your profession, and what documents did you submit for your visa application? Many people have used conferences to japa, so IRCC is more careful about conference visa approvals. However, due to the date of the conference, you can apply for reconsideration. But most of the time, if you don't have a strong case, it is often not accepted. Another option is to apply for a GCMS note. Some of these conferences sometimes do not even have an IRCC conference code. Hopefully, you can reapply for the next conference.

Thank you so much for this info. Please do you know what reason was given for the father's denial? My program is 2 years diploma.
"Your application has been refused because you have not provided sufficient evidence to demonstrate that you have adequate financial resources to support yourself during your stay in Canada. Furthermore, you have not sufficiently established strong ties to your home country, which raises concerns that you may not leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay"

but no 2 application is the same and 1 year diploma is diffierent from 2 years

I got the bank statement from access bank, I went to the bank and requested for my bank statement and told them I was using it for study visa
I stated very clearly in my sop that I paid full tuition which was 18, 900 cad which was what was written in my offer letter
I don’t know where they detected partial payment
Although I noticed weeks after I’ve paid I got another new offer letter from the same course and I wrote to them, they said I should disregard the email
Weeks after I’ve submitted my application to IRCC they gave me a new invoice for my school tuition which is 19,900
I got a denial way before this second invoice came out
I had 23,350,000 naira my account
Dollar was 136
Is 136 a typo error , or do you mean 1,360? becos With 1,360, you only have about 17,186 CAD for 23,350,000 million naira , which is below the living expenses requirement.
Also, there’s no need to appeal. It’s better to reapply and state that your fees were paid in full, showing the receipt and ur current offer letter. For your next application, try using mybankstatement you can request it from ur bank it just an electronic form and it simple to upload as it’s the best way to avoid doubts. Please also reconfirm the exchange rate when you apply. If you reapply today, you’ll need about 30 million naira on account for living expenses, even with the full tuition paid already!

Hi Everyone,

I applied for study permit and VV for spouse and children.

My Study permit is approved, family VV’s are still pending.

Please has anyone faced this scenario. I know it might take a while, I just want to know how long it takes based on others’ experience.

Thank you in advance.
Please note that IRCC is currently processing student permits and family visitor visas for student applicants independently, which can take around 4 to 6 months, similar to regular visitor visa applications.
I know of a family who experienced a similar situation. Their application took 5 months to process, resulting in the approval of the two children's visas, but the father's application was denied. Since the wife is a 1-year diploma student, the children's visas were only granted until the end of her program date. The father has reapplied, and we hope his application will be successful this time.

Please how long does it take for study visa to be granted and also, I want to ask that if some has an application like tourist visa submitted, must the visa be out first before applying for study permit or you can submit the study permit application while you are still awaiting your tourist visa. Asking for someone. Thanks
Student visas and visitor visas are two distinct categories of visas. Therefore, you can apply for and submit a student visa application while your visitor visa application is still being processed and current processing time is now 5 weeks for student application

It’s inactive company status in corporate affairs commission (that means the company doesn’t exist in the country and the source of fund can’t be ascertain) nothing else. Since the new President entered it’s now also one of the visa criteria’s as to enforce companies to be paying their tax returns.

He should clear their tax returns and he does get the visa God Willing and He should mention reason for the refusal and also state it has been rectified.

I’m speaking from experience.
However, I submitted my employment letter, company ID card, payslips, introduction letter from the company and my leave approval letter

What the guy stated means he is just a staff member of the company. Therefore, he is not expected to present the company's registration certificate, nor is he responsible for the company's tax payments since he is not the owner. However, his own personal income tax documents can help.

The new president in your company cannot dictate the visa requirements of a foreign country. That's not how international diplomacy works.

Let's be honest with ourselves: now is not the best time for a Canadian visitor visa application, given the recent refusal rate. There's more to it than IRCC is disclosing, as a visa is a privilege and not a right. Any applicant can try their best, but nothing is guaranteed in the current situation, especially for visitor visas!

Canadians are growing increasingly uneasy with the number of new immigrants coming to the country, with three out of five people saying there are “too many,” the highest rate of dissatisfaction with Canada’s immigration policies in decades, according to a new poll

I wish all new applicant all the best but pls applicant shlould not put their egg in one basket and ensure you have alternative plan for life in this current global situation !

My GCMS NOTES finally arrived after a long wait..

It’s stated that there was limited information regarding my employment. However, I submitted my employment letter, company ID card, payslips, introduction letter from the company and my leave approval letter
I prefer the student GCMS note as it is more detailed. While the visitor visa note tends to be more generic, this GCMS note clearly means that you have the required funds inside the account . However, the visa officer expressed concerns about the source of these funds, as the information provided does not align with the submitted documents. Additional evidence is needed to demonstrate how the money was sourced and to confirm your financial stability.

For visitor visa applicants, this can be a complex issue. In contrast, student visa applicants have the opportunity to include comprehensive documentation, such as receipts of business transactions, tax clearances, and proof of landed property. Any lump sum amounts can also be explained. Reapplying with this detailed information often results in approval.

Recently, visitor visa applicants face a different set of challenges. Justifying the purpose of travel to Canada for tourism is particularly difficult if you have no prior travel history and no family in Canada. Investing a substantial amount for a brief 10-day trip raises questions. Unlike student visa applicants, who can cite educational advancement, visitor visa applicants must provide extensive proof of their source of funds, property ownership, and reasons for choosing Canada over other destinations.

Furthermore, it is crucial for visitor visa applicants to demonstrate strong ties to their home country to assure the visa officer of their intent to return

Attach a detailed letter of explanation about your friend, when and how you met, and copied his ID. I invited an old classmate to Canada. He lives in France. He did the same and got the visa.

An international driver's permit should suffice
An international driving license is worthless in Canada for claiming driving experience for a G2 license in Ontario. However, a Nigerian driving license that is over 2 years old, along with a letter from Ottawa, is acceptable. Alternatively, you can try using your driving abstract from Nigeria. Although a friend’s driving abstract was rejected in the GTA, it was accepted in Cornwall, so you might have better luck outside the GTA

Hello please I need help I got a refusal last month, June 2024
Please what can you advise please help a sister
1. Did you obtain the bank statement from the bank yourself or how did you get the bank statment?
2. What was the balance of your tuition fee after paying the deposit? Currently, the living expenses are:

Proof of Funds Practical Updated for 2024

Applicant Studying Outside Quebec:

• 1 year tuition fee OR full fees for the entire length of study

• 1 year living expenses: 20,635 CAD

• Miscellaneous expenses for a single applicant: between 3,000 to 6,000 CAD

This totals expexcted apart tuition fee approximately 25,000 CAD. Therefore, you need to add your remaining tuition fee balance to 25,000 CAD. This is the amount the visa officer needs to see in your account. What was the exchange rate when you applied, and how much was in the account?

No, it will not affect your visa application because visa officers deal only with the bank statement you present during your visa application, and they are not bank or loan agency that runs a credit check on you.

Please is there a high chance of denial if NO PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP for a visit visa invitation from a family friend aside invitation letter, passport other documents presented by the inviter?
A friend is a friend and not your family member, so an invitation letter, passport, and other documents are good enough. The visa officer will consider other factors like your ties to your home country, your property, proof of funds, work, travel experience if any, and family to assess your eligibility for a visit visa.
