Dauphine:Many Nigerians are mistakenly selling their property to move to Canada on a student visa, assuming that this will ensure their transition to permanent residency. However, there is no guarantee that international students will become permanent residents. In fact, most students indicate in their applications that they intend to return home after graduating. If Canada decides to choose someone more experienced from outside the country to fill an invisible labor gap, rather than a recent graduate who has only worked part-time at a fast-food restaurant for local experience, that is within their rights. International education is primarily a money-making venture for host countries, and they select only a few graduates they need. What the others do after graduation is not the host country's responsibility for example A group of migrants mostly student in Prince Edward Island (PEI) are protesting unexpected changes to immigration rules that put their pathway to permanent residency in jeopardy. They are now at risk of losing status and having to leave the country. |
Milezwadup:I see you are currently in Canada on a visitor visa (VV) and trying to find a way to stay. Please be very careful of LMIA scams. LMIA should be free, but getting an LMIA job is very difficult as some are offering it for sale. If anyone offers you an LMIA for less than CAD 15,000 as of today, it is 100% fake. Regarding switching to a student visa, you can do it yourself. Firstly, you require admission; the school will issue you a PAL, but I doubt any school will offer you admission without paying a deposit. You will then need a medical exam, which you should have done in Nigeria because it is cheaper but more expensive in Canada. Next, you will apply for a visa online, showing your proof of funds and a well-explained statement of purpose. However, I advise anyone coming to Canada with a visitor visa intending to switch to a work or study permit to do thorough research before coming. Many people in this group had the same plan but arrived in Canada and saw how difficult it could be. They ended up resorting to fake asylum claims, which have a 50/50 chance of success. They could face deportation later, as only a small number of claims are approved. |
Eruditeprof:The program not started yet but Here are the requirements for the new caregiver pathway to permanent residence in Canada: 1)Language Proficiency: Achieve a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 (IELTS,CELPIP equivalent). 2)Education: Possess a high school diploma equivalent to Canadian standards (e.g., WAEC equivalent in Nigeria). Also having a cert or training in first aid and cpr is added advantage 3)Experience: Have work experience in a caregiving role. 4) Job Offer: Secure a full-time job offer as a caregiver in Canada. This is the most challenging aspect of the requirement. However, any permanent resident or citizen in Canada with young children can employ a home caregiver, provided they meet the income requirement. Meeting the income requirement can be challenging for many families in Canada, depending on their family size. |
cosade:All site you mention are not just about remote job in canada but worldwide but You can also add fiverr but am just telling you the current tech job situation in canada is not rosy now! |
harmonyedu:You can use a new or same gckey ,it still a new application for visit visa and that will not affect anything! |
cosade:You can try to apply but It is not as easy as people think. There are thousands of individuals in Canada with the same skills and highly technical expertise still searching for jobs in the tech field. Don't be deceived by JobBank. I can confidently tell you that 80% of the jobs are old or dummy advertisements used to get LMIA approval in some cases and will not reply you! |
Ndubestjude:Wait for the gcms note and you have a better view of the situation regarding ur previous application refusal! |
chuksvin:For visa-related inquiries, it is advisable to submit a webform rather than an email, as responses to emails may not be prompt unless the matter pertains to urgent citizen issues and not visa services. |
anid54:Based on your previous question on this forum, you indicated you have already applied for a canada visitor visa as a family in feb 2024. It is best to apply alone for the student visa now because your previous visitor visa is still under consideration and will not affect ur student visa application. Your children can arrive in Canada with visitor visas and later convert to study permit based on their age and the duration of ur study permit . Therefore, to simplify your application, apply alone. Don't forget to indicate your USA visa refusal. Your financial situation is strong, but ensure you provide comprehensive proof of funds, including bank statements, fixed deposit documentation, and evidence of tuition payment. Highlight your various income sources such as your salary, rental income from properties, and profits from land transactions. Work on emphasizing your home ties in your Statement of Purpose (SOP). Mention your property ownership, your job, and any family ties that demonstrate your intention to return to your home country after your studies. Additionally, include a letter from your workplace confirming that you are allowed to return after your studies.and be aware ahead combining study with child care is a difficult task in canada especially as a single mother.l wish good luck in ur application |
Ndubestjude:I requested the entire application, supporting documents, and correspondence, and it took about 5 weeks. However, if you choose the 1st or 3rd option for status or reason for update, it is faster, but you will receive only the officer's notes and not the whole document submitted.

dafeoroyo:This advice is best you have given above , but it only applies if the applicant is certain they have personally applied and used the bank statement obtained directly from the bank, not through an agent. The reliability of visa agents' uploads document is questionable. I recently acquired a GCMS note for an individual who was banned. Despite the agent's claim of using the original statement provided by the individual, the agent suggested that the individual might have suffered a spiritual attack. I found this excuse implausible, so I requested the GCMS note, which contained all the submitted documents. when l recieve all the form and document supported ,The bank statement submitted by the agent was evidently fraudulent; I didn't even need to verify with the bank. It was riddled with typographical mistakes, inconsistent fonts, and alignment issues. It's distressing because agents not only sabotage individuals' plans but also cause discord within families. It's baffling how any rational person could accept a ' family spiritual attack' as a justification for visa denial, an excuse the agent employed to mask his fraud and incompetence! |
KINGTELLER:Mr 2cents,Another defense of the African parental mentality regarding poor character in children's upbringing is that, since you don't understand the meaning of 'junk food,' it will be difficult to grasp its impact on children's mental and physical development. Therefore, comparing a normal balanced diet to an exotic lifestyle. I was born in Canada, then spent some years in Nigeria, and back to Canada, working in a sector that exposes me to the challenges children face here, especially those of African immigrant parents! |
Canfulfilment:You will be surprise the way some Nigerians feed their children in Canada in the name of saving money is dangerous. Eating cheap junk food to save costs and not providing lunch bags for school, leaving children with little or without food, is a concern. These children ate better in Nigeria before relocating, but upon arriving in Canada, their parents start these money-saving practices at the expense of the children's physical and mental health! |
Predator188:Which cheap town in Canada you will get rent for a 3-bedroom for $1,700 CAD? I guess that will be a rural town where you will have to drive 3 hours daily to work or the nearest school, or start a farm business, because at $1,700 CAD, you are moving out of civilization and going toward the bush! |
Lyoncrescent:It is actually possible because he had a previous expired Canada visa and he did not overstay on his last trip, so the renewal should be fast. |
BenjaminLogan:This not link to canada govt website for free gcms note , this is paid 3rd party website and not free so l do not recommend!! |
Canadahome:Yes, all airline allow you to travel to nigeria on expire passport according to nigeria authority . And an infant can travel to nigeria and apply visa on arrival but u need apply for it ahead on immigration website. |
Ndubestjude:I have sponsor family members to come and visit me as a canadian citizen living in canada but if brother is in nigeria, sponsoring a tourist visa that is for pleasure unlike student visa that is for educational advacement does not look good idea to me |
freshStarz:You cannot start school without a student permit..so firstly you apply for student visa which is different from your visiting visa and with all required document include medical test and bank statement and a strong sop then if it granted, you go to the land boarder for your student permit. |
lakeside3020:ls using the old Canada website for visa application and deceased is not available unlike the new website where you fill all online and can tick deceased |
Adewunmibaba:Leave it blank |
gaeul:Since your spouse qualifies for PR under NBPNP and AIP, he can apply for PR now and include you and the children as dependents. You are eligible to be included in his PR application even as a current student. There's no need to wait until after graduation. Including you now simplifies the process, ensuring your whole family can obtain PR status together. |
darasire1028:Visa officers do contact banks directly but not in every situation to verify statements of account. They typically use Document Analysis, where they look for signs of tampering, inconsistencies, or anomalies in the documents. Verification Tools, which refer to various databases and software, are also used to cross-check and verify the information provided in financial documents. These tools help identify inconsistencies, detect fraudulent activities, and confirm the authenticity of the documents by comparing them against known data sources and patterns. However, these methods are not always perfect and can sometimes result in errors. Therefore, if there are doubts or discrepancies, visa officers often give applicants a chance to explain and provide additional information to clarify the situation |
harmonyedu:Traveling from Edmonton International Airport (YEG) to Vermilion by road is generally recommended as the best option. Taking a local flight to Lloydminster is not advisable due to the high cost and the fact that mostly private jets or chartered flights land at Lloydminster. Additionally, if you are coming from Lagos by private jet or chartered flight, there is no need to fly to Calgary first; you can fly directly to Lloydminster. Please hold on to the receipt of your first semester tuition fee payment and your proof of living expenses. Canadian airports boarder officers are now randomly selecting students for extra checks, focusing on proof of funds for tuition fees and living expenses. |
jasperonyx:A tourist is someone who travels to and stays in a place outside their usual environment for leisure for short-term purposes. So, what genuine reason could this miraculous visitor from Nigeria, who was previously refused a Canadian tourist visa and has not even visited Ghana as a tourist, have to visit Canada only? At least, Niagara Falls is the most famous tourist site in Canada and can also be viewed from the USA side. Therefore, you could apply for a USA visa to visit the USA side of Niagara Falls.becos this 2024 applying 100 times with 50m acct without a change in ur status..the visa officer just see a desperate guy that want to japa on tourist visa ![]() |
pufframmy:I have seen where husband, wife and child apply only husband approved and other refused ! |
Maria96:We own not only african store ,we also have many nigeria churches now in canada more than india or chinese business or companies. |
EdoPresido:This not official canada govt site for gcms note request ..this is a third party paid site and not connected to the govt of canada!! Their are so many video on youtube that will guide you how to request gcms for free on official canada govt site like Channel details (@Juliet_k) she post a well detailed explanation how to order ur gcms note for free . |
proff010:You can request ur gcms note urself ,if u have ur biometic paper with u the applicatiln number and uci number is on the biometic instruction letter and that what you needed to request gcms note and sending a webform has no negative effect on ur application |
oklarlexzy:It a good suggestion to apply for reconsideration, but that's not often successful, especially since the visa officer has a valid point about your using a gift to fund a visit trip that's not for future business or education in Canada. However, you can reapply now after receiving your GCMS note and plan the visit for December's Christmas holiday. Meanwhile, your wife can obtain the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and start working, including her work contract in your application. She can also write a more detailed compassionate letter explaining how she misses her family and needs them to visit for Christmas. However, please focus more on the Permanent Residency (PR) route for your wife, as many students are struggling with the 1-year PGWP. Many students mistakenly think that Personal Support Worker (PSW) is the same as the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot, which is not the case. As a PSW, your wife will only qualify for PR through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), which is still under the Express Entry system and requires a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience. The work accumulated during her study period will not be counted, so she will only have 1 year of work experience. After that, she will need to enter the pool to increase her points and wait for nomination, but as things stand, I don't see any province requesting PSW due to the law of demand and supply. Currently, there are many people looking for work as PSW, and even Canadian residents can't find work in this field. PSW is not in short supply; maybe other medical professions like nursing are, but not PSW. Many students are misinformed, thinking they can choose a 1-year course, get a 1-year PGWP, and then get PR, but it often doesn't work that way. If you don't have a strong Express Entry profile already in place or your province doesn't have a program like the New Brunswick Private Career College program or Newfoundland and Labrador program, it may not be possible. For example, graduates of the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program from some colleges will be eligible for employment as PCAs in all facilities operated by the four Regional Health Authorities in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Please research thoroughly before your wife pursues the PGWP, as some students are now looking for LMIA to stay in Canada after finishing the 1-year PGWP, but there is no provincial nomination, and it's risky to be out of status, as most workplaces refuse to get involved in the LMIA process. Even the Ontario International Students stream, one of the Employer Job Offer streams of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), targets foreign nationals who have completed a Canadian educational credential and have a job offer from an Ontario employer, but I doubt PSW will be nominated as things stand now with the current number of PSW graduates looking for jobs, even among residents. So, all these immigration routes require detailed research and not just relying on what one person said or experienced, as rules change from time to time, especially now with the rapidly changing Canadian immigration system. Please let make the group more information sharing and not insult ! |
Singlefile:Canadian Visa Professionals (CanadianVP) is a private company offering eligibility evaluations for those seeking to move to Canada as permanent residents. They collaborate with authorized consultants but aren't affiliated with Canada's government or the Canadian Immigration Consultants Council. It's essential to consider client feedback, as some reviews express concerns about their legitimacy .Please ignore them! you can process any canada immigration path way urself without any agent! |
oklarlexzy:Actually you qualify for sowp as at november when you applied for visiting even now becos ur wife is a studemt inside canada before the new law BUT that late now as she graduate next month ..but the big question is ur wife getting 1 yr or 3yrs pgwp and what the plan towards PR ? |
