I disagree with your opinion.
No school in Canada is facing financial pressure because even if the whole of Africa stop applying to Canadian institutions only China alone will cover the gap. Remember there are India, Arab nations, European countries, Brazil , Argentina and the Caribbeans etc. Therefore there is no shortage of international students enrolment in Canada.

As for Permanent Residency. The fact that every reader of this post should take is that if you are able to graduate successfully in any accredited canadian institution no matter the course of study your PR will eventually be established.

Lets focus on the main topic which is How to process the Canada study visa successfully. Anything the student face in Canada after study is irrelevant topic.
Your claim that Canadian institutions are not under financial pressure is contradicted by what colleges and universities across the country have publicly announced.

Examples include:

• Seneca Polytechnic (Ontario) – Markham campus closure.

• Centennial College (Ontario) – 49 programs suspended.

• Fleming College (Ontario) – Nearly 30 programs suspended, staff reductions, merger discussions.

• Sheridan College (Ontario) – Multiple program suspensions and financial restructuring.

• Mohawk College (Ontario) – Program cuts and workforce reductions.

• Algonquin College (Ontario) – Program suspensions and budget reductions.

• Loyalist College (Ontario) – Program and staffing reviews due to lower enrolment.

• Lambton College (Ontario) – Program cuts and financial adjustments.

• Georgian College (Ontario) – Cost-cutting measures and program reviews.

• Canadore College (Ontario) – Program reductions and restructuring.

• Northern College (Ontario) – Program suspensions and budget measures.

• St. Lawrence College (Ontario) – Program reviews and financial restraint measures.

• Conestoga College (Ontario) – Significant decline in international student applications and enrolment.

• Fanshawe College (Ontario) – Budget adjustments and program reviews.

• Durham College (Ontario) – Financial restructuring and enrolment concerns.

• North Island College (British Columbia) – Ucluelet campus closure and staffing reductions.

• Selkirk College (British Columbia) – Hiring freeze, staff reductions, program intake suspensions.

• Vancouver Community College (British Columbia) – Revenue losses and enrolment reductions.

• College of New Caledonia (British Columbia) – Program and budget adjustments.

• Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Saskatchewan) – Enrolment and budget concerns linked to policy changes.

• Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (Manitoba) – Announced closure following a sharp decline in international student enrolment.

• Assiniboine College (Manitoba) – Public concerns about the impact of international student caps.

• Nova Scotia Community College (Nova Scotia) – Reported financial pressure from reduced international student intake.

• New Brunswick Community College (New Brunswick) – Raised concerns regarding international student policy impacts.

• Holland College (Prince Edward Island) – Enrolment and revenue concerns.

• College of the North Atlantic (Newfoundland and Labrador) – Adjustments due to changing international student numbers.

In addition:

• Colleges Ontario warned that the sector is facing one of the most severe financial crises in decades.

• OPSEU reported more than 10,000 college-sector job losses linked to international student cap impacts.

• Multiple institutions across Canada announced layoffs, hiring freezes, program cancellations, campus closures, and service reductions between 2024 and 2026.

Therefore, the argument that there is no shortage of international students and no financial pressure on Canadian institutions is not supported by the evidence. The challenges are being reported by colleges, universities, unions, provincial organizations, and the institutions themselves across Canada.

Be honest with urself!!

I respectfully disagree, though I don't know whether you are a visa agent or not.

The reality is that several Canadian colleges and institutions have already announced program cuts, staff layoffs, hiring freezes, and even campus closures following the reduction in international student permits. That alone shows that some schools were heavily dependent on international tuition revenue and are feeling the impact.

Also, graduating from a Canadian institution does not automatically guarantee permanent residence. There is no Canadian law or immigration policy that says a student will receive PR simply because they completed a program in Canada. Thousands of graduates are currently struggling to obtain enough CRS points or qualify under available immigration pathways.

Most importantly, what happens after graduation is not irrelevant. For many students and their families, studying in Canada is one of the biggest financial investments they will ever make. It is only fair that people understand both sides of the story: how to obtain a study permit and what the realities are after graduation, including employment opportunities, cost of living, work permits, and PR options.

People deserve complete information before spending tens of thousands of dollars, not just information about getting a visa approval.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by House34: 9:51am On Jun 13
Many schools are already facing financial pressure, and some programs have been reduced or closed because of lower international student enrollment. The education sector also supports many jobs, so international students continue to play an important role in the economy.
How students plan to obtain PR after graduation is a separate issue. If someone assumes that studying in Canada automatically leads to PR without doing proper research, that is their responsibility. Prospective students need to understand the financial realities, and risks before making such a major decision. You can fake proof of funds, but you cannot fake the reality you will face after you arrive. Rent, food, bills, and tuition are real. Make sure your plans are realistic, sustainable, and based on your actual circumstances.

How can one have his immidiate family in Canada and yet be refused visa to go see them ?

How did you prove home ties?

Is part of home ties not that family that is already living in Canada?
Because many of our people have abused the visitor visa system through massive asylum claim, even parents visiting children in college or siblings visiting family and then claiming asylum it is sad, but authorities no longer truly trust us, and this now affects even genuine travellers

Hello Everyone,
I would really appreciate a second opinion on this "issue" do one to need to submit a LOE in their visit application that they gave birth in USA few years ago. One can't say they visited USA for 3 months for vacation as the only reason while filling the form.
No loe needed , 3 month is fine

she got it via hard work from 2 Masters degree, to PhD , worked with IRCC and then with a Tech company as a Senior Project manager, never seeked asylum , it was my fault as I was comfortable living in Africa due to my business, we agreed they would come back to Africa , I never wanted to live in Canada due to my business but now I understood better, I have started the spousal sponsorship application too.. Hopefully either worksquote author=hayatou27 post=136965342]Bro, me sef dey reason am, how is his details are not included in PR and citizen application , infact its a direct PR for him , he doesnt need to apply for visit visa, She might have claimed asylum , Asylum records are not good for people inviting others, they believe others might come to claim asylum, so be mindful of those giving you invitation letters , bro ask your wife how she got her PR and you were not included.
Let’s set sentiment aside and follow the regulations. If I were the visa officer, I would refuse your application because you have significant ties to Canada. You own a business there, you have a wife and a daughter you haven’t seen in two years, and your wife has already been living in Canada for over five years. Under these circumstances, applying for a visitor visa raises serious concerns about your intention to leave Canada at the end of your stay with a previous refusal , as required under Section 179(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), which states that a temporary resident visa may only be issued if the officer is satisfied the applicant will leave Canada at the end of the authorized stay.
My advice is to first request reconsideration, then apply for permanent residence through family sponsorship. Once you have submitted the sponsorship application and received your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), you can reapply for a visitor visa, this time including a copy of the AOR as supporting evidence. If your marriage is genuine and legitimate, this will significantly improve your chances of approval. Under Section 22(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), Canada recognizes dual intent meaning you may apply for permanent residence while also applying for temporary entry, as long as you can demonstrate that you will comply with the conditions of your temporary stay and ircc stated with ur aor for pr included in ur visit application it will be processed faster.

Teslas:
Story on this this.

Reason stated for Mom -

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

• You have significant family ties in Canada.

Officer Decision Notes (ODN) -

These notes were entered by the officer who assessed and made the final decision on your
application.

• Upon review of the application, there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate socio-economic ties that will compel the applicant to return to their home country or country of residence. I also note that the applicant has significant family ties in Canada. Therefore, I am not satisfied that the purpose of their intended stay is justified or that their visit to Canada is temporary. Application refused.

Please Note: She has a valid US visa; this is her second visa, and she has travelled to the USA before. She is almost 80. She is coming to visit her daughter and grandchildren. She is retired and not working and didn't submit any bank statement, but her daughter has over 30 dollars in her account, and she included it all in the application. Her daughter is a PR holder. Letter of invitation from her daughter and all her documentation.

Sister—She is to accompany the mother to Canada

Reason stated for sister -

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

• You have significant family ties in Canada.

Officer Decision Notes (ODN) -

These notes were entered by the officer who assessed and made the final decision on your application.

• The documentation provided by the applicant on their current employment activities or to prove ownership of the declared business is limited.
They have not shown that they are economically established and have sufficient socio-economic ties. Additionally, there is insufficient evidence to one, support the purpose of their travel to Canada; and two, demonstrate socio-economic ties that will compel the applicant to return to their home country or country of residence. I also note that the applicant has significant family ties in Canada. On balance, I am not satisfied that the purpose of their intended stay is justified or that their visit to Canada is temporary. Application refuse

Please Note That:
She submitted all the documents to support her application: All Educational certificates, ND, HND, BSC, and other professional certificates, All her employment certificates, offer letter, leave letters, promotion letters, introduction letter, , company ID Cards, Company Business Cards, letter of invitation from her sister and all her documentation. Letter of Explanation. Office- and work-related pictures.

She submitted her registered business too, tax of the business, and the CAC document too. Business ID Cards, Business cards for customer, invoices and all documents with pictures.

She submitted 3 properties and her ongoing warehouse constructions to expand her business and all payment-related information from the properties and highlighted them with a marker in her statement of account.

She submitted a bank statement of over 35 million with proven and clean records with payslips, money from properties, and income from her business. Her salary is 1.5m, and it comes with bonuses at times payable into her account.

She submitted her marriage certificates, birth certificate affidavits, letter of support and consent from the husband, Family Pictures with her immediate family and family pictures with her sister and her mom.

She submitted police report, document report, community letter from the leader, birth certificates showing both her own and her sister, she submitted conversation between her and her sister.

She has travel to Benin x 2, Ghana x 2, Togo and Gabon. She has refusal from UK and she declared it and explained the reason. she didnt apply to UK again as the reason she wanted to travel has past and there is not need for re-aplying when they didnt give her.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to navigate this. They are not planning to relocate and just want to visit. Thanks
Tender a reconsideration letter immediately, and a more senior officer will review it. In your mother’s case, with a valid U.S. visa at 80 years old, the refusal appears to be an error in judgment. Your sister’s refusal, however, seems more understandable.

Hello house, please I need your advice.

I came to Canada as an international student in December 2023. My study permit was approved with my 10-month-old baby, but I travelled alone because I wasn’t sure how to balance school and settling in with her. I planned that once I was stable, my husband would apply for a spousal open work permit (SOWP) and come with our daughter.

We tried three times, but all were refused:
• 1st application: April 2024 → Refused.
• 2nd application: January 2025 → Refused.
• 3rd application: around May 2025 → Refused.

Reasons:
• First refusal: not enough proof of funds 😳 (we actually had more than what was required).
• Second refusal: they said I didn’t show sufficient proof of funds as a student 😳😳 (which isn’t even a known requirement).
• By the third application, we had more than double the required amount for one person’s travel and explained it properly, but it was still denied.

Now I have graduated, and my convocation is in December. By then it will be two years since I moved. I currently hold implied status while waiting for my PGWP decision.

This time, we are applying for a VISITOR VISA so that my husband and daughter can attend my convocation, spend about a month with me, and then return home. We are also hoping for a multiple-entry visa, so that my husband won’t need to reapply if he wants to visit again. The purpose is not to remain in Canada permanently, only to attend my graduation and spend family time.

FOR CONTEXT, we plan to reply by the 3rd week of September. Currently, we have about 22M fixed in the bank, around 5 million in my husband’s transactional account, and I will be showing about 8–9k on my side.

Please, what can we do differently this time to make the application stronger? Any advice from those with recent approvals will really help.

Thank you.
If your family reapplies for a visitor visa now, they will most likely face another refusal again and again. A better strategy is to first secure your PGWP and then obtain a skilled job under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3. Once you are employed in such a role, your family can apply for a SOWP tied to your valid PGWP. This is important because SOWP applications made while you are a student are treated differently than when you are a graduate working on a PGWP which has greater chance when u working as pgwp holder

To make their application stronger, you should provide proof of your employment, such as:

An official employment letter confirming your position, salary, start date, and full-time status.

At least three recent pay stubs.

A copy of your job offer or contract

I wish you good luck

Globus and Parallex are commercial banks and accepted by IRCC, but they’re known for POF “runs.” Avoid using a new account for POF, as IRCC requires at least 6 months of bank statements so u can use globus just avoid new account without 6 month bank statement.

Hi,

I’m currently based in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa, and my fiancée is in Nigeria. I recently got a Canadian visit visa approved and have a stable job. Now, I’m considering applying for a Canadian visit visa for her.

She’s employed in Nigeria and can obtain letters to support her employment status, which we intend to use as her primary proof of strong ties to her home country. However, I would like to act as her financial sponsor, meaning I’ll be submitting my UK bank statements as part of the application.

We’re planning to have our traditional introduction soon, and I can provide supporting documents such as pictures and chat history to demonstrate the genuineness of our relationship.

Could you advise how feasible this sponsorship approach and application is, and whether using a UK-based financial sponsor might affect her chances? She doesn’t have any travel history.
Why not start by inviting your fiancée to the UK where you live?
Because I doubt any visa officer will believe your approach of sponsoring your fiancée not your wife to another country, especially when you haven’t even invited her to the UK where you actually reside.
This whole arrangement is built on shallow ground, and it will not stand.
All those photos and chat histories you're gathering should be directed to the UK authorities when you apply for a UK visa for her not used to convince Canada. You're skipping steps, and it won’t hold up under scrutiny.

You have a good financial profile, which is a solid foundation. While lack of travel history can raise concerns, it doesn’t always lead to refusal. Just ensure your documents clearly show strong ties to Nigeria and genuine intent to return. There’s no guarantee, especially since many Nigerians with similar profiles have overstayed or claimed asylum but it’s still worth trying if your purpose is genuine.

Hello everyone, Please I have some questions to ask. and I will appreciate it if i can be guided.
last year, we were denied and the reason i quote ( • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the
details you have provided in your application.

This application was done by an agent, but now I would like to apply myself. I recently just got my 5years UK visa, I have previously been issued a 6 months Schengen visa from Spain and a 6 month visa from France twice all with my family.

I'm self-employed with a take home monthly salary of 623,356 after tax. as well as having enough in my business account.

Please, I need advice on how to go about a new application, can i use my salary account with about 9m balance and my business account with about 80m balance for this new application?

Please i need a guided pass for this new application, what and what do you guys think i can do?
To begin with, do you even know what the agent filled in your application?
Filling in something entirely different now could make your application more complicated.
Also, what is the main reason for your visit to Canada?

Hello everyone I have a question to ask, and I will appreciate it if I can be guided, I am currently in Canada on a visitor record. I am here in Canada with my wife and two kids the last child is just few months old we had her here in Canada, so while my wife schools and go to her casual job I care for the kids, my question my visitors record is due to expire and I am thinking of visiting Mexico to re-set my status, what is the attitude of immigration officers towards my trip .
Pls avoid that mexico option as Immigration officers are strict with visitors who appear to be using a visit visa to live in Canada. Traveling to Mexico to reset your stay could lead to re-entry denial to canada as a visitor visa is not meant for residency. While Canadian visa holders may enter Mexico visa-free, Mexican authorities are known to deny entry to many Africans without a proper mexican visa becos majority of them are likely heading to usa illegally . It’s safer to apply for an extension from within Canada. But note The longer you stay on a visitor visa in canada , the harder it may be to get another visit visa or return to canada in the future, as it signals weak ties to your home country.

If you're not currently in school, just write "Not applicable" or "N/A" under the education section.

For your job, since you sell clothes, you can write "Self-employed – Clothing seller" or "Retail business owner." If there's no exact match, choose something like "Retail" or "Self-employed. And many youtube video to guide you with canada visitor visa application.

Are you sure you didn't attach an account statement that was password-protected?
It’s not about the password, but about giving IRCC the ability to view your current bank history and balance directly from the bank especially if they suspect your bank statement is not genuine or that you deposited money temporarily for visa purposes and then withdrew it.

Please ircc just sent me this
“Funds, proof: Please provide proof of funds through mybankStatement”

After submitting proof of funds before
What does it mean?
IRCC is using a smarter method now because myBankStatement cannot be faked. It is generated directly by the bank, and you only need to submit the ticket number provided by your bank. IRCC will then use that ticket to verify your bank statement directly with the bank system.
This is a new approach IRCC uses to detect fraudulent or manipulated bank statements. So if your bank statement is genuine, there’s nothing to worry about. Just go to your UBA bank and request a myBankStatement it a ticket number and password. Then submit it to IRCC as instructed.

Will my application be rejected if the graduation date has passed before they respond to me?
Note: I have families here in the uk but I applied alone and I’m on a work visa here in the uk
Thanks for your response
To be honest, you can still be granted the visa even if the graduation date has passed. In most cases where applications are refused because the event has already taken place, it's not just about the timing—the applicant usually doesn’t meet other key eligibility criteria.
In your case, you’ve established a stable life in the UK, you're on a valid work visa, and you have family ties there. All of this shows strong connections to your current residence and reduces the perceived risk of overstaying or making an asylum claim. So even if your niece’s graduation has passed by the time a decision is made, you still stand a good chance of being approved.

Please I will like to ask a question from this your writeup, does it mean that someone that have diploma in nursing ( school of nursing) is not qualified to apply for Canada express entry ? Because it is not equivalent to Canada standard.
JUST AVOID WES AND USE OTHER CERTIFICATE EVALUATION BODY LIKE IQAS OR ICES if you hold a diploma in nursing as a Registered Nurse.

wes evaluates those nursing stuff ( not bsc nursing ) as secondary school equivalent . So iqas evaluation them as diploma which qualifies for two or more degrees not professional degree
You said this 3 years ago, and someone misinterpreted 'Canadian Equivalency: Three years of Hospital Study and Training' as a 3-year BSc by WES , which is incorrect. That report actually means it is only equivalent to secondary school and not a BSc But ices and iqas evaluate them better . I came to update this so others won’t be misled and continue wasting money expecting a BSc evaluation but ending up with a secondary school equivalency by WES . Great job, boss! 😊

I am providing this update in case it may be useful to anyone.
I am sharing a just completed WES evaluation for a School of Nursing with WES and the outcome is a Canadian equivalence of = Three years of Hospital study and training which I believe is equal to a bachelor’s degree as explained on IRCC site below:

"Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute"
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/criteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html

what WES requested are:

1. Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Certificate of Registration and confirmation of enrollment status. (This was requested on NMCN website, you will pay a fee for this to be sent to WES electronically)
2. Academic Transcript from the School of Nursing and Nursing Registration Certificate.

Please note that it may be time-consuming as it depends majorly on the response time from your school / NMCN. but in this case, NMCN was fast.
Canadian Equivalency : Three years of Hospital Study and Training.

Hello good people, please I need help with uploading additional documents that were requested by IRCC. I have uploaded the documents and status shows submitted but I have not received any email confirmation.
No worries if the status shows 'submitted,' it's okay. Confirmation alert can sometimes be delayed.
