Jeboy:Extending could be an issue if, after spending one year in Canada, you depart and suddenly return within a short period, even if your visa is still valid. I understand your question, but most of those loopholes are being blocked by IRCC. What people do is, after completing a course, they flagpole at the land border to get a PGWP instantly, and the husband gets an SOWP if the wife has a valid job offer. However, that option is now closed as PGWP via flagpoling has been stopped. Additionally, any other category of flagpoling is now done only at selected border crossings, unlike in the past when you could go to any border crossing. This means you have to apply inside Canada online and wait up to 3 to 6 months as the processing time could change. During this period, the main applicant is allowed to work pending the outcome of the PGWP, but the spouse cannot apply for an SOWP until the PGWP in approved . So, imagine a guy arrives in Canada with his wife, a student on a 1-year diploma course, and he arrives on a visitor visa. After 6 months, he manages to extend his stay, which is not guaranteed but at the discretion of the IRCC officer. Let's assume he is successful and gets another 6 months, making it one year. Then, the wife graduates, applies for a PGWP, and is waiting for the PGWP. What will happen to the guy after one year when his wife's PGWP is not ready yet. Again, I advise anybody coming to Canada as a student to think beyond that one-year course. You can only get a PGWP once, and after one year, if you are not nominated for PR or cannot get an LMIA, then that's the end. This is part of the issue many students are currently facing after a 1-year PGWP. What most students are doing now is either going for a master's or another one-year diploma program, which is not cheap, especially with the current job situation in Canada. IRCC noticed many students are changing schools, so they announced a new rule to change courses or schools inside Canada; you have to apply for a new visa, unlike in the past where you just notified IRCC of the change in writing without needing to apply for a new visa. All these changes are coming into effect soon. I wish all the students good luck; it really is not as easy as people at home think, being an international student in Canada. Sometimes, the law could be interpreted differently depending on the officer. I know a guy last year who arrived with a visitor visa and whose wife was a diploma student. At that time, the spouse of a diploma student was still entitled to an SOWP. However, the officer he met asked him why most people do not apply for an SOWP in their home country but come to Canada on a visitor visa and rush to the land border for an SOWP. The officer asked the guy what he told them at the airport when questioned, and the guy said he was visiting his wife. The officer refused his request and told him to go back to Nigeria and apply for an SOWP. Someone suggested he change his border entry and go to another entry point. He wasted a lot of money flying to another province, but the initial officer had already made a note on his file. When he arrived at another land border, the officer asked him only one question: "You applied last week and were refused and told to go home, but why are you here again" The officer asked for a copy of his return ticket, which he provided. The officer stamped his passport with a date just three weeks away, matching the date on his return ticket, and told him that if he did not depart Canada on or before that date, he would be illegal. |
richieway:Is your spouse on a 1 or 2 years diploma program?? |
JohnA3344:Order the gcms note firstly before you reapply. Pls you said visiting ur partner as in your husband or who? |
Alwaysachick:If your spouse is not a master’s or PhD student, you will only get a visitor visa. However, your daughter can get a visitor record inside Canada that will allow her to stay based on the duration of your spouse’s study permit. you can only stay for a maximum of six months on a visitor visa. You can extend it, but you cannot work, so be careful. Staying 6 month and unnecceary extension might affect your chances of getting a one or three-year open work permit when your spouse qualifies for a PGWP, depending on the length of studies after completing the program. Plan ahead on how to get a SOWP when your spouse graduates and tell ur spouse to start considering the PR route now. |
Sholzyy:A cousin is the child of your aunt or uncle. In other words, your cousin is the son or daughter of one of your parent's siblings. Even if you don't have photos, gather other documents to support your application. You can also draw a family tree in your letter of support (a family tree is a simple diagram of how you are related). Ask your cousin to write an invitation letter including her birth certificate ,Pr card or passport if a citizen. The letter should include her contact information, details about your visit, and a statement about your relationship.

njambert:Are you new driver becos arriving canada past 1year as a newcomer is not what makes you a new driver in canada and what the address on ur driving licence is it GTA ?? |
hayatou27:Sure, you can invest your money in market investments. . As a visitor visa applicant, you can use your money; just make sure the bank statement you submitted is from the bank. The embassy could directly ask the bank if the statement you provided to support your application was indeed issued by them as you claimed in your application. Even if they ask for an updated account, an investment in the money market also shows you have access to the funds. Please, do not leave your money idle in the account if you can invest it to make more profit because the visa process can take six months or longer! |
Miide2:You need a transit visa with your Canada and USA visas since you are traveling through more than one Schengen country (france, germany)as a Nigeria passport holder |

Temitaryor1:Hello, just send a webform to explain that you omitted it by error, and she will be fine. |
Ndubestjude:Stating that you sold your property to fund your account specifically for a visitor visa is a red flag. Remember, it's a visitor visa, not a student visa, which could have a long-term impact on your life because selling some property to fund education is usually more accepted. It's important to show that you have a stable financial situation and strong ties to your home country. Selling property just to fund your account for a visitor visa application might raise concerns about your intentions. |
xzeal10:Many things are changing, and now it's even the other way around: the longer your processing time, the less the chance of approval. I remember last year, people who applied for conference visas got visas even after the conference date. But now they are being refused under "purpose of travel" when I see a GCMS note that states the purpose of travel is already invalid. Even for those who applied on time, the GCMS note just pastes the same "purpose of travel and finance or Insufficient Assets" without explanation, compared to the more detailed student visa GCMS note! |
Yeezy24:Some people have had similar situations recently since the no SOWP restriction started. Unless you are a master's or PhD student, your spouse does not qualify for SOWP. IRCC is sometimes slow with the visitor visa application for the spouse of a student, but not in all situations. Sometimes it processes like a normal visitor visa application that could take six months, and there is no guarantee it will be accepted or rejected. Congratulations on your study permit. |
Martins281:Be careful of LMIA scams. Many people are being scammed and stranded both inside and outside Canada. You cannot track LMIA and cannot confirm its genuineness until you apply for a visa. Stay vigilant! |
retweet2024:U not the first with similar situation pls just Carry ur old and new passport to vac and you will be well guided on what to do. |
Nickelodeon93:If you claim that someone scammed you publicly, then be prepared to explain the full details of what happened, how you got scammed, what service the person was offering, and what they promised you. Additionally, let people be cautious of visa agents or anyone asking you for money in exchange for a visa; they are not visa officers, and nobody can guarantee you a visa. |
Teacup:You can use ur bank statement as POF However, the visa officer may want to know why an adult is being sponsored to attend a conference for a tourist visa if the adult truly has a good home tie and finances. |
Sholzyy:you can address it to anywhere because you not even sure which canadian embassy will treat your application so it the content of the letter that is most important not the address |
Teacup:Sometimes, we need to look at an application from a realistic point of view. Firstly, why do you want to sponsor your wife to attend a conference? How will the conference benefit your family life, empower your wife economically, or connect to her job? What is her financial strength? Is the conference not available locally? Many people have used the same method to get conference visas and then become asylum seekers in Canada. Therefore, it is important to package her application well this is 2024 and canada visa is not as usual easy path again! |
sanyaolurilwan:Gcms or cbsa note is free and you can order urself as foreign national living outside canada..pls try search video on youtube on how to order gcms note and please avoid thoes third party agent for ordering gsms note becos it free and you can do it urself within 5 minute |
MelaninGemstone:You said you had U.S. visa earlier and now has a Canada visa approval. If you claims your passport is missing just to get canada visa 10 years , please be aware that the U.S. and Canada share a database. If you later appear at the U.S. border with the same passport you reported missing, you could face some issues. Be careful! |
Royals1st:Firstly, delete the current one you filling and start again at the beginning of the form, it appears asking if you are applying as a group. You need to select "Yes" and then choose "Family." This will give you the option to fill out the form for your wife. I just checked, and the online form is still the same for filling out. It seems there was an error on your part. Please check again or follow a YouTube video on how to fill out the Canada visitor application form.
|
Royals1st:Please go use the New IRCC portal and everthing is completely filled online and no need download any form..i guess you using the old portal that why you facing this confusing! ONLINE APPLICATION LINK NEW PORTAL https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signup?lang=en INVITE CODE: https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal |
Jeboy:Very simple. You claim in your application that you have a job, family back home as your home tie and going for 10 days holiday in Canada , but suddenly you arrive in Canada and spend 6 months as a visitor. Then you ask for an extension because you need more time to visit other locations in Canada which was granted by ircc , making it 1 year as a visitor. After that, you travel home, stay for 2 months, and then come back to visit again. You may likely be refused entry because you are no longer behaving like a genuine visitor. I have seen that before. The guy even went to Mexico, stayed for 2 weeks, and then came back to Canada, he was refused entry but decided to claim asylum but his case was given expedient hearing date as they see him as suspicious and it all end in asylum rejection after 5 month waiting period and over 2 hours of questioning at the asylum hearing by the judge . |
Ihategirls:I hope you are aware that having a 2,3 or 10-year visit visa does not mean you can stay in Canada for 2,3 or 10 years as a tourist. The maximum stay at any given time is 6 months or less, depending on what the border officer decides. An extension for another 6 months is possible, but it is not automatic and may diminish your chances of returning to Canada in the future. |
njambert: Let's put sentiment aside and face reality. People sharing their life difficulties and challenges on social media are not expressing negative thoughts; they are reflecting the current situation in Canada. Ignoring warning signs and critical information can leave anybody, especially students, stranded. Canada of ten years ago is not the Canada of today. People stay in survival jobs for longer periods as alternatives become harder and more difficult to find. Most information shared here is reality, not just thoughts. Anyone coming to Canada now should be prepared physically, financially, and mentally |
benjijosh:it not about your bank statement alone but You need a proper explanation and more documentation of how you have over $100,000 USD in savings . You need a breakdown of your earnings and proof of source of these funds. If your salary is the only source of this $100,000, then you need to include your pay slips, tax slip explain how you source your money and convert it to USD, provide property documents, and detail your monthly expenses and savings. When you reapply, the next visa officer will review the previous officer's notes. |
benjijosh:The visa official likely doubted the source of your funds because, for example, earning 250,000 naira monthly while showing 30 million in your account without a proper explanation can raise significant concerns. It's not solely about the substantial closing balance; other factors such as clear documentation of the source of your funds are crucial considerations in their visa decision-making process. Under Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, there is no formal right of appeal for temporary resident decisions. to ircc Instead, you have the option to reapply or seek judicial review at the Federal Court of Canada and you need hire a Canadian lawyer to handle this process, as it can be costly (approximately 3500 CAD or more ) and time-consuming (4 months to 1 year ). Personally, considering the uncertainty of success in court, it may not be a prudent decision to pursue an appeal through this route as reapplying still remain the best option. |
walenden:7 days delay in rent is too long in Canada.I think there's a misunderstanding about how bills payment work abroad. The roommate likely isn't the homeowner, and your brother's non-payment will impact him too. If rent isn't paid, the landlord may evict everyone. . In this case, the roommate asking your brother to leave for non-payment isn't unfair.it's not a village town hall; It's a rented share room, with payments due on a set date, just like the landlord's mortgage. Canada can be expensive, so students should prepare financially before arriving and be wary of agents or Hollywood movies that may paint an unrealistic picture. Life abroad isn't always easy; it's essential to be aware of the realities and getting a job as a student to pay your immediate bill in Canada is not guaranteed.you have to send your brother money to found alternative accommodation or he will be homeless on the street because even the homeless shelter are filled up and no bed space !! |
Ndubestjude:You need to be patient and not too desperate in your visa pursuit. Reapplying does not guarantee you will be issued one. The file you requested is not just the visa officer's note but all the files submitted, so that takes more time. You just need to be patient, and there's no way you can speed up anything about the Canada visitor visa process, unless you have usa visa.so be patient! |
Sandzy:No, you can attach ur office letter, promotion letter to that spot it does not matter anywhere ur office is located..even u can merge document together to create more room to upload additional document .the visa officer will view it as a single long form all merge together by ircc software. Have done that when applying for friends and family and it ok |
