I'm new here and I really need your help with something that is bothering my mind.

My dad paid an agent since November-2022 for an Unskilled job offer in CANADA,,and I don't really knw what's happening till now.

To cut the long story short, as at March-2023, I got a job offer for the role of a Farmer including an invitation letter stating the conditions of the job through my agent. Please note that all the information I have had came through my Agent's email and not mine.

According to my Agent,,,the LMIA processing fee wud be paid by my employee and every other necessary fee as regards tmy traveing. But I have to be patient for atleast 2months b4 everything can be ready.

Now,,it's over 3months that we've been on this LMIA processing issue but he keeps telling to be patient that my employer is still working on it..

I have searched for the company's details online but i can only get little information about the employers information on the internet.

I have been really skeptical about all the processes but I just need anyone from Nairaland who can assist me with any vital information as regards this processes and I'll be extremely grateful.

A little research I made (Canada is like the US in terms of job seeking ) they can allow you seek for a job with a TRV , as a visitor or Tourist , but once you have a job , you have to switch to work permits . The company has to send you LMIA to work, and most times , it's allowed that you can apply inside Canada.

That being said, you need an offer letter to apply for an LMIA ( this usually comes from your employer as well as the contract letter showing how much your salary is) there and then you can apply for a work permit.
Canada wants everything documentary.
That's as far as I know. The experts here can add or debunk.

Many have forgotten that things change with time in Canada. The same government that has been reluctant accepting people for the past 2-3 years is now rolling out visa document numbers and PPR. It simply means they are on the verge of rolling out government policies that could absorb law-abiding visitors to their work force. However, if they fail to do that, people will still survive and find their way. Thanks for encouraging people here bro.

Don’t bother yourself you won’t find a job. Everyone I know with a VV attempted to get an LMIA sponsor employment, after six month they all returned home. Healthcare jobs are the easiest to convert from VV to work permit. But currently no one is hiring due to inflation. Things are really bad. These announcements are good on papers, in reality, omo! it’s 2/100.

no thats your interpretation. Sadly many agents have used the policy to mislead people too. Its just an option not that it means there are many employers on ground. If Nigerians have the kind if economic power Indians and Chinese have we would have big companies like them that can be used to offer job offers to our people. Miracles still happen regardless

I’m visiting my spouse not Tourism, my proposed visit is for 3wks, the distance between her birthday and our wedding anniversary is 5wks. I can tell immigration I’m yet to decide if I will be waiting till our anniversary or not, reason I didn’t book a return ticket.

I understand booking a return ticket is good to be on the safe side. But it’s not listed anywhere as a requirement. Worst case the officer will mandate you to book a return ticket. I don’t think they’ll send someone back because of return ticket only when other documents ticks.

Visit visa. I’ve called airline to confirm, they said it’s doesn’t matter, that’s immigration/cbsa job. Early April, I read about someone what traveled with one way ticket on a visitor visa.

I don’t know the person, I couldn’t get direct information. I will chill till Friday/Sat to get update from the guy.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed in one way or the other on this group. I have a few questions/concerns.

I applied for my visitor’s visa on 4 March 2023, and did my biometrics on 14th March but my eligibility test is yet to start. I am a Nigerian studying in Sweden.

My travel plan is during summer coz of my studies, first week of June to be precise.

So here are my questions:

Will they answer at the same time they answer people that applied from Nigeria? Usually here in Sweden, decisions come in one month.

Can I email them via form after a month?

I got a message that they don't need additional documents from me. Should I be worried about that?

I'm so worried coz we booked flights already as that was a mandatory requirement for us to proceed with the application.

Stating that he'll take care of my expenses for the period of 3 weeks(my stay). Is it compulsory I submit my statement of account alongside other documents, since my brother has dropped his own statement of account to show as proof that, he can finance my expenses over there?

What you need to use was a Ticket reservation for Visa Application, not the confirmed Ticket. However, what you should do is keep it open. Do hotel and ticket reservation only not confirmed if needed for the purpose of your application.

The letter is mainly a query; it has nothing to do with the decision-making process.

A procedural fairness letter is an email or letter sent electronically by CIC officer. The officer sends that letter to allow a visa candidate to respond to a query or concern about the documents the visa applicant submitted in relation to his or her visa application.

My wife received a procedural fairness letter for lack of funds concerning her first visa application. She was asked to submit updated bank account statements. 

They normally send a procedural fairness letter to allow the applicant to respond to an issue with his or her application.

The procedural fairness letter you’re asking of, is it the one I wrote to them?

A procedural fairness letter doesn’t inform applicants of “IRCC decision-making process”. It highlights the error(s) by the applicant and requests for explanation or information in respect to that.

Please how long does it take for vfs to return my passport?

And again, for those that has travelled using visit/tourist visa, what questions does immigration officers ask at the airport.
