Peterobiisathie: Yiibo is not getting anything from Tinubu’s administration You can not work with Innoson producing fake cars and want to collect wages from Dangote cement Is it inferiority complex or hate? Because I don't understand why you will call Innoson cars fake when you're likely not to have used it. If you're demarketing a Nigerian brand, do you think others will patronize it? We're talking of brands that have the potential of engendering economic growth and development. |

Blue3k: Just curious have you looked at the Kano statw budget to confirm this? Not really, but it is not unexpected that the cost of maintaining the Emirates will naturally increase as the number of Emirates increase. Assuming the income of the state government remain constant, the creation of three more Emirates mean the amount set aside for one Emirate will be shared with other Emirates or the budgetary allocation to other segments of government spending will be reduced to accommodate the new Emirates. Nigeria being Nigeria, the former is not possible. |

festacman: Four overdressed men would attend to more issues than one overdressed man was doing. Besides, the multi emirates are nearer to the people and therefore they don't have to spend much money and time to have to travel to present matters arising at the palaces. Unfortunately, the government will have to spend more to maintain the four overdressed men. Nigeria's revenue has continue to decline over time, the balkanisation of the Emirates, though may make political sense, is uneconomical. |

Oga oo
If 33% of our 100% population are unemployed
How many children do we have in 100% population depending on the employed?!
How many old people do we have dependent on the employed
How many full house wife do we have dependent on the employed
How many people are under employed
How many people are gainfully employed
. Unemployment rate is not relative to the total population, but the total labour force. In some countries, ages 15-64 are considered active labour force, while 18-60 is the standard in others. |

Raskimonojendor: They have thrown all sort of dirt and plastic bags in the drains as usual.
Anyone not pleased are always free to leave Lagos It's not only about people blocking the drainage, the sate lacks proper drainage system. Take Lekki-Epe expressway for instance, from Ajah to Abijo to awoyaya down to ibeju, there no single drainage. Any time it rains, no matter how little, the whole highway will be flooded this causing heavy gridlock. For the next few weeks now, Sangotedo-Awoyaya axis will experience heavy gridlock on account of yesterday's rain. |

WrriterNig: You are simple minded.
When every country starts trading in their own currencies, who then would have the need for the US dollars? Are you an economist? It will interest you to know that the heavy demand for US dollars for international trade comes at a cost for the US economy. The appreciation of the dollars often give rise to higher inflation rate and sustained trade deficits. Trust me, China or Russia will not submit their currencies as standard currency for international trade. All the instances of China buying Saudi oil in yuan and India buying Russia gas in ruble is just to reduce the cost of international trade between the parties. In fact, it is not new. I'm sure you still remember the 2018 Naira/yuan currency swap agreement between Nigeria and China? |
Business › Re: Countries Worldwide Dump U.S Dollars, Embrace Russia & China Currencies (Photo) by Hpesoj: 12:36am On Apr 27, 2023 |
helinues: Africa countries are working towards self sufficient. Sooner or later, we wont longer need their service Unfortunately, this is just a wishful thinking. To start with, it will be very difficult for Africa to ditch dollars for a africa-centric currency for several reasons including the fact that more than two-third of our export is made up of primary products with and our manufacturing capacity and output is unfortunately poor. Look at the eco currency of ECOWAS, how far were we able to go about it? The West African Franc was able to work for obvious reasons. Moreover, intra-African trade is very low. In a recent study I was working on, my search for intra-African trade statistics revealed that intra-ECOWAS trade is less than 15 percent. The adoption of AfFTA was not able to change the low intra-Africa trade since we basically export primary products which other African countries have and equally export. Our dependence on export from Europe, North America, China and India suggest we have to use the universal currency (dollars) or the country's currency. Either way, we not exporting manufactured goods means Africa will ave to dance to the tune of any county we depend on for import. |
