safarigirl: Please, has anyone seen Icon79 since Messilona crashed out of the UCL?
Please, somebody help me find Icon79. I hope he's okay
hopefully he will be here by weekend to come belittle Ronaldo..... I am still waiting on messi to win the world cup wit Argentina and also top our group....like he said.
edi287: Always viewed Musa like Walcott. More of a wide forward than a winger. I personally prefer him at CF than outwide. He makes some good runs in behind at times.
you mean you prefer musa as a CF? you're funny...it seems you don't know how wasteful he is in front of goals...please go re-watch Nigeria vs south Africa match in uyo during keshi era...
musa is better as as sub....keshi used these rhythm to get the best from him during the afcon 2013....he can always come in to outrun the defenders.....during 30-10 minutes left to play...and he should be deployed to the wings.
so surprised to see could reduce himself to such a parochial mindset....and see nothing else beyond his nose.. I will expect him to call back on something else...but rather he still seem solace in the stale achievements of the epl teams...
edi287: We are in need of someone that link midfield with attack i.e creativity. We have Iheanacho who is one of the best finishers around. Creativity without Mikel is the main issue we have.
and Ighalo and ideye can both pass the ball better than the midfielders we currently have...? Aside mikel....we can as well try iwobi there once more...he tried with his passes against the serbians... the problem mainly was Ighalo positioning...and iwobi wasn't used to the role yet.... apart from iwobi....it won't be bad if someone like aluko can be tried....kelechi nwakali can come in after the world cup...
definetely not ideye and Ighalo...I don't see them as better passer of the ball....
edi287: Let's stop this. Assuming we're taking out finishing, Ideye is comfortably a better option than Umar. I like Umar, but sorry Ideye is better when it comes to linking up play. I also think Ideye is underrated on the ball. Like someone said earlier, he can play alongside Ighalo/Nacho in a 4-3-3 which can easily morph to a 4-4-2 or as the main CF with someone like Nacho out wide. Ighalo was 75 percent responsible for Emenike's success from the 2013 afcon and afterward. Emenike mostly struggled without him. I personally feel we need creativity. Aluko for example can play as a 10, outwide and even as a false 9. That's the type of options we should be looking to add to the team(assuming if Rohr is still scouting)
I hate reading about this link up play... we are talking of strikers scoring goals....and here you are sir...you're talking of ideye. even keshi acknowledged the reason for leaving him out of 2014 world cup..because the team need to score goals...
Ighalo is not a better striker...because he is not a potent goal scorer.... for now...I will want umar and dessers to ne tried....and let's see what they have to offer in training.....both i believe to be a better finisher that both...we need someone that can be at least lethal in front of goals....
It's a hard league to play good technical football but if you can somehow overcome all those obstacles and play a skill based technical individual game then you will stand out then coming to the EPL will not be too difficult.
That is where Dele Alli came from England arguably most skillful player followed by Adam Llanna also came from league 1 with Southampton and in more recent times England current best defender ( my opinion) Gomez came from League one. And closer home so also did Ademola Lookman.
Do you know how hard it is to play technically proficient skill based football, when you are surrounded by carpenters and water carriers.
However there are a few teams that play good football like Chartlton, MK Dons, Peterborough and Shrewsbury. Don't forget MK Dons disgraced Manchester United a few years ago beating them 4-1 if I remember correctly.
I read somewhere you wrote...."you doubt if sadiq umar will be able to make it in league 1" please tell me you never said that.....
tbaba1234: Exactly, he is not afraid to take on players and that inevitably leads to fouls against him. In a tight game, you might need free kicks and penalties to make the difference.
free kicks? not when Moses will bully nancho and Moses Simon misuse them....
we will never get anything useful from free kicks should it be left to Moses V. to play. he is not an accurate shooter of the ball and rarely shot wit precision.
andrew444: Just the way Graziano Pellè who could not score up to 10 goals in seria A went to the premier league and scored 15 for Southampton a season
that dude reasoning eehh.. so absurd.....an intelligent person won't draw up prepositions so easily to make such claims... because it is not absolutely verifiable...they're variables at play...
a player may do badly in the dutch league..and he will move to England and do wonders.... properly the team tactics suits him, he has improved on himself.... his team mates influence etc...
sometimes when we take this things in we won't reason foolishly.... I could not reply one who was claiming the Chinese players will play better and do more than dessers and umar if they were in the dutch league..... could not use common sense...tell..if the Chinese league was that super and technical...it would have abeit reflects in the national team.... Chinese team can't even match the Netherlands under 23 team...let alone the national team..of Netherlands. they have not been in the world cup for a long time now and can't even win the Asian nations cup....can't even get to the final..
somehow: Are you talking about players who have already made their name from the top leagues in the world before going to China? Can you see the fault in your thought process?
I think you should say that to yourself... if you think that Ighalo and Martins who could barely pass the mark of 20 goals a season despite the game time in a Chinese league with mediocre Chinese players....could do same in netherland then you have to think again....
I still remember how Wolfsburg under 23 team whipped mikel's team....during preseason...you can Google the Chinese teams preseason result with small European clubs to see how they were grossly beaten...and you think so old legs can replicate same performance of old in the dutch league.... you are currently living in the past....
the dutch league defenders might be very poor...but not as bad as those Chinese players......
somehow: Yea son, it's Martins, the one outperforming your top 9 in the same Chinese league even at his age, the one still clocking minutes more than your top 9.
Yea, your top 9 scored how many goals for the SE in 15 games? Yea sure, we are scoring goals. I forgot the job of a top 9 already.
Oh it's to score goals? Nooo, it's to press defenders.... Nooo it's to wait until there is a Mikel in the midfield before he can at least have 3 targets on goal in a 90 mins game.
Sing me another song Son.
I don't think there is need for this... you can just go bring Martins out of injury... and take him to the world cup.... keep whipping a dead horse..what's the need.
some of you talk here...as if the rest of us don't watch football....
someone should please take a look at this beautiful passes and striker positioning and finishing prowess....this is all we ask for...from the super eagles midfielders...and striker
somehow: I believe the league both of them are will only teach them how to score with less difficulty defense wise, will they be able to repeat same goal scoring ratio when they go to a better league?
I will still rate Umar ahead of Dresser because he came from a higher and more difficult league where he actually had some goals recorded to his name.
if we are to talk of league comparism...then i believe those in Chinese league shouldn't be invited...because the Dutch league I believe is better technical than the Chinese league....
goldfish80: Ok, Salah was born this season. Let's conveniently forget he contributed about 32 goals (18 goals and 14 assists) playing for As Roma from the wings!!!
He also achieved a Similiar feet...with Florentina.. that guy is just good...
tbaba1234: Your captain and striker are playing in China.
I think that's one of the reason for the continous outing of the striker....
I believe had it been Ighalo was still in Europe...he would have been more potent upfront.... the Chinese league I believe don't make well for players development.
just imagine if this was in the world cup... I feel for him though...but i think he need take a rest...the world cup should be left for the young lads to explore...
