realpoacher: Absolutely agree with you at the bolded. Its horrible watching Iwobi, Etebo, iheanacho and Nwakeam playing out of positions.
Someone should please pass this message to Rohr, Iheanacho SS/CF, Iwobi AM, Etebo RW/LW, Nwakeam LW thanks my brother... sometimes we loose or draw matches not really because the players are not good enough but because of the way rohr play them... you see that RSA match we lost it because of same reason.....I expect rohr to have learn from it by now...but he keeps making same errors.....that's why I am worried... not really because we drew...yesterday's match... don't be surprised he will field same players in the world cup... I am not too happy with him on this....anyway I pray he changes....moreover he does not read news channels or follow up the media so no way we can pass this message across to him...except one close to him... having someone like siasia as one of his assistant would have done the magic... |

Oasis007: My preferred Lineup against Argentina. (4 - 4 - 2) Formation needs to be tested by Rohr, we can't rely only on 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 every time.
------------------- Akpeyi --------------------
Shehu ------ Ekong --- Balogun -------- Aina
-------------- Ogu ------- Mikel --------------
Iwobi-------------------------------- Onyekuru
----------- Iheanacho --- Kayode -------------
I picked Akpeyi over Ezenwa simply to know if he deserves a place in the Team to Russia. This should be his final Test, and if he fails it, then Rohr should stop inviting him.
He's more exposed than Ezenwa professionally, hence it's a big Shame Ezenwa is considered ahead of him as Eagles present No. 1.
The Backline is solid against the Algerians. I think it's better we allow the quartet to starting gelling together henceforth. We need to know what they can offer in Russia, starting from the next (Friendly) Match.
Ogu and Mikel Pivot gonna be a good Combo. Both can tackle superbly and shield/hold on the Ball excellently. While Ogu is dealing with short Passes, Mikel would be dealing with long range Passes to the frontline.
They do not need to attack, rather allow the Wingers - Iwobi and Onyekuru doing the Job. Their primary Assignments would be; shielding the Defense, controlling the Game and freeing up the Wingers and the Strikers doing the damages.
Iheanacho is a creative Player, with good eyes for Goals and decisive passes. Playing him and Kayode upfront gonna be a Menace for the Argentine Defenders.
Iheanacho can shoot from outside, Kayode gets the Pace, Onyekuru gets magical feet, and Iwobi is technically gifted.
I hope to see what the Lads can offer in a 4 - 4 - 2 Formation. how I wish rohr can see this... but I will replace ogu with ndidi and sub him in the second half.... |

realpoacher: In all the comments and criticism so far, I expected someone to notice or mention a positive from our play which we've lacked so far all through the qualifiers.
Precise and deadly long range shot.
Prior to this match, all goals we have scored came from inside the box, non from long range outside. I have always knew that Ogu had those shots packed in his left foot and he has never been scared to take them but the problem has always been precision and accuracy, which he produced today.
Mehn that goal was a beautiful long range curler . It had the power, shot, curl and above all beauty deserving of a long Ranger. Immediately it left his foot, many fans including "yours truly" in my viewing center were already up screaming Goal, Goal, Goaaal with our hands up even before the ball entered the net.
Ogu apart from the two fouls he committed kept things simple and easy in the middle, passing and movement was top-notch! Agreed he is slow but midfielders don't need speed. Zidane, Pirlo, Keane, Rakitic, modric, Wilshire, Yaya toure, heck! Even Mikel is fuccking slow.
Besides Onazi, Ndidi, I will love to Rohr to play Ogu at the world Cup. Onazi, Ndidi and Ogu can and are not scared to shoot from outside the box but it seems that Ogu have more precision than the other two.
For the goal and coupled with his play, I will rate him 8.5. Goals determine results therefore for his effort, he deserves it
Long Rangers sometimes determine the outcome of a game, it's always good to have such spare options handy how about the creativeness of that midfield...? how many chances did the midfield create for the strker....? though I am not rubbishing the effort of those lads...because deep down I know their potentials...but rohr really need to starting fielding players in the role best suited for them.... |

I wish him all the best though.... right now the super eagles is my focus and not the 3 lions. I really wanted Germany to win that match yesterday.... Germany happens to be my favorite whenever they play...provided they're not playing Nigeria. |

Icon4s: My brother a larger percentage here were expecting us to beat the so called "weakened Algerian side".
But for the dubious penalty we would have won all the same. But the expectations on this dead rubber game was too much.
On Etebo, I was arguing it here not too long ago that he does not have the creative ability to be an AM at this level.
On Anthony Nwakaeme, he is not the kind of striker we need. We brought him in for the Cameroon " Jam -body " encounter. I think we need to give Kayode more playing time now I think I can remember when you talked on that etebo not being creative enough for the AM role.... that's why I won't talk much about his performance because he wasn't used rightly... I am with you on that nwakeme guy.... I thibk henceforth other strikers need to to called instead and assessed... my fear now...is rohr may not see this things the way we see it... him and his crew may rate nwakeme highly like goodjoe...and keep inviting him in place of players like kayode,Paul and dessers.... |

Icon4s: Hahaha, I still feel Akpeyi is better than Ezenwa.
The only edge Ezenwa has over Akpeyi is confidence and that over confidence is affecting Ezenwa.
See how he was just jumping upandan and running kaakiri yesterday.
The coaches have probably continued to field him to see if he would improve.
Thank God those Algerian players were just heading wide yesterday. Else na another thing we for dey talk this morning.
As for Uzoho. Hmmmm,..its a no no for me for now. let him play at least a match...then we can pass judgement on him... because with those two goal keepers akpeyi and ezenwa we will be in serious trouble in Russia.... to be honest that ezenwa is just an upgraded version of agbim....... I am not sold on him...at all. I just don't understand...why Carl had to go through this ailment...not at this time at all. that dude has waited all this while for international football and now it is coming only for one devlish ailment somewhere to come raise it's ugly head... |

Icon4s: They probably were expecting us to white-wash Algeria at their back yard.
Ahead of this game I have personally lowered my expectations.
There was no way we would have played with the kind of intensity with which we played our 5 earlier games.
I watched that game with the major intensions of assessing Aina and Nwakaeme and also reassessing John Ogu. I also focused my attention on Balogun to see if he had gotten over the signs we saw from him against Zambia.
Before the game I thought a draw would be a fair result but considering how the Algerian goal was awarded I felt we were robbed and deserved to have won oga no one is talking of beating them at their backyard... didn't you see yesterday that the midfield wasn't creative at all.... rohr keep playing etebo in that midfield and what was nacho doing in the flanks...? even salisu yusuf....never played nacho in the flanks...when he was a coach... all our matches...especially the last few ones...the wings have been one of our strong points to play fast counter attack... to be honest will you play etebo in the middle If you were the coach... I worried because playing this kind of formation at the world cup...will leave us at the mercy of a very sound technical team... they will beat us silly.... we can't really attest on nwakeme finishing prowess because he was not feed... |

I don't really understand some of us here so pointing out super eagles obvious errors is now see as blacklish and and being ungrateful to rohr...
if we must meet that semi final or even quarter final target as many of us want the team to attain....you will agree wit me...that this team needs to be criticised....
we all agree that our bench should be as good as Our first 11 players...... and If this is the bench we claim to have...it means there is still so much work that needs to be done...
the players however were not that bad...but the manager...formation is something to worry about.... why play nacho as a winger....? that I still don't understand.... and there you have wingers sitting on the bench....
rohr really need to get to know his players and the roles best suited for them....
I think the coach have still not learnt from the RSA loss.....the midfield yesterday was not creative at any point...no chance they could create...thanks to ogu strike..which i believe to be "individual brilliance "
and keeps playing etebo in the AM role...when you have iwobi there....wallowing in the flanks... etebo with his pace and trickery will do better in the wings...and cuts in perfectly well..... rohr is always scared to try new things....I don't know if that one is phobia or what... |

Na so. Oga icon4 let the boy play...let see what he can offer...

today the tide have changed and you now see him as the best amongst them all...
let someone else play and let us assess how good he is.... |

Goke7: are you aware that the games against algeria and argentina are experimental games? if he does not experiment now, when will he do it? at the world cup? look here rohr has his starting 11 already, he is only trying out new experiment and which games will he do that? there are nothing at stake with these games and so expect more trial and error. You guys are not even appreciating the fact that just in november alone we are playing two warm up games to prepare the eagles.
you guys should chill pls how long is he going to continue to experiment etebo in the AM role? etebo is not a creative player....everybody that watches football knows that. put someone who is creative in the middle...and watch how well our wingers will play..... |

tbaba1234: Thank you, could not have said it better.
I really do not understand the criticisms for a team that have only lost one game in a couple of years and cruised through a qualifying group made up of three African champions.
Even Westerhof had to go through an excruciating last game to qualify for USA 94. I don't see anything wrong with criticising a team....provided it is a constructive one. so please....we should let everyone pour out their minds.....though i don't support names calling.... after all...every honest person will admit that alot still need to be done...in regarding the super eagles.... |

TheGoodJoe: Nwakaeme impressed me with his hard work. Especially when he switched roles to play on the side. His tracking back was good and he put in work to help the defence.
Onyekuru showed confidence and nice touches. Sad the pitch did not allow us see the pace our forwards could bring. Algerians looked better and I suspect it has to do with the studs. This should be a lesson for us spending long time away from the venue. nwakeme impressed only you oooo oga goodjoe.... you mean that guy impressed you...? then you can easily be impressed... anyway the dude is not an SE material... |

You people will never be satisfied. God forbid!
They sha kept our unbeaten record despite the wuru-wuru officiating. I'm good with that Dear I wasn't too impressed....considering the way super eagles have been playing lately...this match fall below standard...chances created today were not up to 3.... the super eagles I know create more chances than that...this Algeria team was very weak......
