I think I really..need not put all my hope on Nigeria come next year...better still my philosophy as it has always been is to enjoy every game I watch by being neutral to both sides...that I will adopt come Russia 2018. because I don't see us to far wit this team...without the likes of Moses and mikel... |

joseph1013: It's obvious you've been watching him with some preconceived notions. He's not having a bad game. It's Etebo that is not creating in AMF. Ogu has been doing alot of tackling, defending and short passes. hmmmm....you've said something worth onsidering...I just expect him to fit mikel shoes...especially in the area of wideplay and long range passes... I think the coach is just messing up etebo potentials..that guy is not creative enough for AM...role. he should have been made to swap role wit iwobi.... |

a tactical coach would have tried someone like iwobi or even nacho in that role |

kingphilip: i think what humility017 is against is not talking about them but putting other players down and extolling the Anglo-Nigerians.
you can actually make a player look really good than comparing him with another who doesn't play same position, in the same team, in the same league and facing the same challenges thank you my brother....you understood me perfectly well.... I could have as well....keep quiet.. but he is gradually repeating it everyday.. one will think now...that foreign born players he is talking about...will gladly accept us should we make approach...but the reverse will be the case....as they don't mind make headlines on rejecting Nigeria advancea just to draw up Southgate attention... it is annoying players who have not even accept playing for nigeria are been hyped and our homegrown player pulled down... I don't mind onomah achievement he did that for England... oshimen have flew Nigeria's flag high in time past and I believe he will keep up the good work....as he make progress... I am not against this onomah and co....but dont pull down other players just to promote them...I remember after all the fuss over nwakali super eagles call up... he could not provide an alternative someone he has in mind that should have been called in his place...unlike sir forgiveness who gave names of players that worth considering.. deep down I believe his problem with nwakali is not because the lad lack potentials but because he is playing in far away Norway....as if it is the guy's fault... here we talk of a young boy...who all he has achieved in life is as a result of hardwork and God's favor.... he never had anything smooth for him... |

forgiveness: NFF will not approach him now until he comes super star finish.
Were are those so called scouts going about their scouting in one lowly Norwegian league, huh? please let him go..... it's like you delight in this guys embarassing Nigeria.... approach him now and see how...he make mockery of Nigeria in news headlines.... if it is only the Norwegian,Belgian, German groomed players that will play for us...so let it be... pray England soakes the 3 lions with all of the Anglo Nigerian players....we will be fine as a football nation... |

forgiveness: Oga, if you don't know Tega means u no dey watch EPL because the same Tega played there though with limited time. Abi you no see Tega Onomah for Europa two seasons ago?
Point to one AM in our National team better than him and don't stop there, tell me which ST is better than Abraham Tega and which LW better pass Ademola Lookman, huh, before you start to dey yan over hyped English groomed players. I never mention Dominic Solanke oooo. I think you saw how he demonstrated he is a very skilful and confident player with that his solo runs before he took a shot during the match against West ham?
Abeg, comot Mikel Obi for the comparison.
Abi, you mean generally English groomed players are over hyped? Is Dele Alli Over hype? Abi, the English groomed players are over hype because somebody snubbed us for England?
If you think English groomed players are over hyped then list and compare Nigerian and British groomed players side by side, make we see who don produced better players pass. unfortunately all the players you just mentioned are English players...... with all the hype sir komekn give them here...and the way he tear down others to promote them...one should expect the English team to be miles ahead of the like of Germany...in world cup tournaments... later in the evening or better still tomoro...we will both toil this line.... |

Joebie: @bolded. were you talking about Tayo Edun? He is also English groomed
Modified Let's respect Komekn 's positions. He is our eyes over there. Those who are in Nigeria should educate us what's going on with Nigerian talents in Nigeria. Saying they are on the streets, is different from someone who goes to watch these teenagers. He can only speak on what he knows. So please let's be a little more patriotic and go watch these boys in the streets and talk about them here.. maybe post videos.
sidenote: Most of these players are automatically citizens of Nigeria through their parents. Passport is just a document. Even many in Nigeria don't have a Nigerian passport. That does not make them less Nigerian. I am not against him talking of his players...but pulling down other players just to promote his own like kind of players is what I don't like.... I patiently watch were he was heading to..when he began to berates oshimen...and I believed because he wanted promote onomah.....because that was the conclusion |

tbaba1234: Yes, he was invited to train with the senior team.. I have said this severally nothing wrong inviting players like deji, omijiii and any home groom talent to come train with the SE...just to give them exposure...and instill in them...the need to work hard to play for the team in future...and feel wanted... the nff really are bereft of ideas... things like this should be introduced....at least to keep this foreign lads who have openly declared for us... |

komekn: He is promising.
But nowhere near the level of Tega Onomah who is becoming increasingly top rate. I really dont know any young midfielder currently that can run the entire game in England the way he does.
Considering current atmosphere he will be very seriously on Southgates radar. I am wondering why Onomah wasn't invited who is tega onomah please... please this is super eagles thread and not 3 lions thread... stop using the English football system as a yardstick to judge our players... those players you mentioning have every thing working for them...good and organised football system...unlike us here in Nigeria I doubt if tega had gone through what oshimen experienced while growing up.... over hyped English groomed players...if England was that England....they would have been edging Germany all this while om world cup tournaments..... not everyone will be opportuened to.play in England even at that you should not expect a teenager who just changed an environment, football culture and vibes to get so well and smooth in Europe though some can....but definetely the lad is on a gradual progress....I believe if at 18 he could get few minutes under his belt I believe as time goes by...he will definetely get hours provided he keep working hard.. you're so swift to pull down other players just to promote your English groomed players which I wont want to call average.... only God knows if those guys you're mentioning even have a Nigeria passport |

Nigeria vs Zambia, 2-1 Mikel was instrumental.

Nigeria 4-0 Cameroon, Mikel was instrumental, even scored.
Cameroon 1 vs 1 Nigeria, Mikel was okay.
Zambia 0-1 Nigeria, Mikel was instrumental.

Mujtahida: Your problem is not fb players, playing for us but the suggestion that we have an institutionalised mode of engagement. Pray tell me how formalising the mode of approaching fb players affects the development of our league or will be at the expense of our local league. Is this not a lazy man's excuse? Just like saying having embassies abroad will prevent building of government houses in Nigeria. Imagine how ridiculous a man would look if we want to establish diplomatic relations with another country and he begins to cry 'hooooo hoooo we cannot do this ooo. It will affect our domestic relations'.
If your league was developed prior to now and having fb players began to affect it then I'd see your points. But your league has been floundering for years. Having modes of engagement with fb players has no relationship with developing your league. Just stick with the fact that you don't like us 'begging'. I will understand. besides we engaging and approaching foreign born players....to come play for us... all boils down to the backwardness and dearth of talents our league have witnessed over the years... a country wit visionary leaders will pursue both in pari pasau....(both fb and local groomed) and such harness both talents to attain unprecedented success in the football circles....but here in Nigeria...many like onigbinde are demanding the nff to shun foreign born players for talents in the local league only them can see..... same local league....that is like old volume 5 drug....can make you sleep off while watching....let alone the poor officiating... we all saw what they can offer during the just concluded wafu cup.... please let it know...that pursuing this foreign born should not stop out FA and the government from developing our local league....that is if they know they know what they're doing.... |
