another problem that needs to be solved...is the NFF always taking SE friendly to Europe far from home....
why let the players play friendly matches in pitch entirely different from their home ground where they play to prosecute competitive matches
I tell you had it been the Togo and Corsica friendly were played in uyo...it would have been difficult to loose against RSA...
seeing that stadium that day one can vividly tell it's difference from the French stadium...
more so, it would have afford the players the opportunity of being used to the stadium prior the RSA game....

1- ENYEAMA/IKEME

2- BALOGUN

3- MIKEL

4- VICTOR MOSES

5- IDEYE

6- OMERUO

I STRONGLY believe that with the above listed experience players back in the team, the SE will surely bounce back and beat Cameroon,or draw them at least, add just few players from the team that played SA,
Add these players to ones listed above
1-NDIDI,ETEBO,2-IHEANACHO ,3- IWOBI 4- EKONG. that left back position need to be replaced by another experience player. Or we can just manage ECHIEJILE for now.

With SUCCESS ,SIMON ,KAYODE, OGU, on the bench, there is no way we are going to lose.

I hope 95% of these players I mentioned be on our XI.
nice one...
to be true....awaziem wasn't too poor that day
presently I will put him and omeruo on same class....
moreover he is even more better on aerial balls.
talking about echiejie....we are not looking for experienced players to replace him but a young pacy player that can link up join the attack when the need arises...Kingsley madu comes to mind but the dude really need to top up his game to get SE call ups...
no doubt ideye is one player that have been used to Africa football.... we may need him should V. Moses be absent

We play politics in everything. Why cant a proven scout/national coach be saddled with monitoring NPFL/NNL players with the purpose of maintaining a pool of the best players in the country? A pool of players from which that Rohr can pull from whenever he needs. We should have a CHAN team always just as we have an SE team.

both coaches are just good man managers but poor in tactics and lazy scouting players and reading games.....

I agree. At the end it falls back to set up we plan to approach the game and screening for the best. From the keeper, backline to offence.

And please can someone sack Alloy Agu. It seems the man is not serious with his job. Get a coach who can invite the best crop of keepers to camp and screen out the best two to cover for Ikeme.

We should not interest ourselves with names or history but the best for the job.

Thanks for your insightful contributions. Really well thought. Also props to Humility017.

someone like siasia and Ike shorumbu should be drafted into the coaching crew. I tell you the later have more to offer.

Why is Onazi being blamed for the second goal?

Which Players are supposed to be the last backline when you are on the offensive? The CBs or the DM?

Nobody is even blaming Simon for losing the ball in such a cheap manner that led to the counter attack.
I think the goal resorted from a set piece....situation.
which enabled the RSA to go on counter...
in such situation... onazi should have stayed back cover up for the defenders that went upfront.
I think.....his poor leadership style also contributed.. there was no communication amongst the players.....the goal keeper too could not talk....mtchewwww

I do not need to re-watch the Match Dude. I'm convinced Onazi was the best among the 3 Midfielders played by Rohr.

Hence, I really don't understand why some of you are pinning the Blame only Onazi. What were you expecting him do do?! Kill himself on the Pitch?!

Good chances were missed by both Etebo and Ndidi, yet they were stylishly left out of Criticism?! Why?!

Kindly chill a bit and free Onazi of sentimental Blames.
you just broke my heart...with those words...of onazi being the best amongst the midfielders played that day....

Dont worry, cameroun game is next. We will see how his expereience plays out. Experience. Experience, how did Echiejile fair in that game? Would u honestly beat your chest and say he had a good game?

I think we still dont get it. We lost the game from our midfield. Talking about rookie defender or whatever the case is , is practically immaterial. We have seen good midfielders make defenders look soooo gorgeous. And when all that is not in place,
Same defenders get jittery. And thats just exactly what happened. We lost the game from wrong tactics and bad midfield combo. PERIOD!

Leon that I know will never let that ball get to rantie....

Thank God Onazi is not on Nairaland, he would have voluntarily retired from International Football.

Why is it so hard for some Dudes on this Thread to be objective and fair with their respective Analyses?!

Ndidi, Etebo were completely poor, yet Onazi must be blamed because he's the Captain?! Seem Dudes forget he played as a DMF?!

Iheanacho, Iwobi were below average, yet Simon must be blamed because he's the Messi of the Team?!

Awaziem was outstandingly poor, but Akpeyi should be blamed instead?!

SMH!
Bro...please watch the match highlight again
what was onazi doing upfront... ?
was he not supposed to cover up for the defenders who went forward to try make use of the set piece situation...?
onazi and awaziem should be blamed more for the 2nd and 1st goals.....
both guys erred

nacho...wasted that opportunity he got in the first half...likewise ndidi wayward shot in the RSA 18 yard box....those chances would have been judiciously used....
also etebo failed to score the ball already worked by kayode when he tried play bass the RSA goal keeper

Looks like our man could end up in the championship. The whole Arsenal gist was just a complete agent transfer poppycock
..................

Championship club rival West Ham for Nigerian forward by tabling £ 7 .5 million bid

Onyekuru was initially linked with Arsenal much earlier this summer but it soon emerged no deal was likely. West Ham have since expressed their interest and Onyekuru is believed to favour a move to the Hammers. However with news that ambitious Birmingham have submitted the largest bid could see him playing his football under Harry Redknapp next season.
Slaven Bilic’s side have been told that the player won’t be sold for less than £7.87million. This would also aid the chances of him receiving a work permit to play his football overseas as well. As mentioned, no club has bid more than Birmingham at this moment in time but the Championship club are certainly wary of breaking any Financial Fair Play regulations.
The player himself is currently spending time with his family but was hoping to soon fly over to discuss a move to West Ham. News of a new club entering the market, and a surprising one in Birmingham, does certainly put a spanner in the works. He netted 20 goals last season in the Belgian top flight, leading to many scouts delivering reports of high praise. Redknapp would love to add the player to his squad, and is already hopeful of luring John Terry to St Andrews following his release from Chelsea too.

The solution is simple. He is ready to play for us. The coaching crew should study his tapes and see if there is a possibility he is better than what we already have. If it looks so, invite him to camp and watch him closely. If he is better than what we have, cap him and slowly introduce him to the team.

Allnigeriasoccer.com broke the news that the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Nigerian Federation are set to battle over the international future of prolific FC Utrecht striker Cyriel Dessers.
The Belgians made the first effort to persuade him to commit his future to the country, having invited him to their U21 team two years ago, and Dessers has explained why he couldn't make his competitive debut against Moldova.
''I have been invited only to the Belgium U21 team, it was a big team with players like Dennis Praet (Sampdoria), Tielemans (Monaco), Dendoncker (Anderlecht), Musonda (Chelsea) and Kayembe (Porto), '' Dessers told
allnigeriasoccer.com .
When the 22-year-old was put on the spot and asked to clarify where his international future lies, he stressed that he won't reject a call-up to the Super Eagles, adding that his parents would be immensely proud of that decision.
''At first I need to prove myself with Utrecht in Eredivisie and Europa League, but it would be a huge honour to play for Nigeria.
''I have not been contacted by the Nigerian Federation but that's normal if you look at the strikers now. But maybe if I keep developing and performing there will come an opportunity one day.
''Of course, my mom and dad would be very proud if I could play for Nigeria.
''As a kid I was a fan of Okocha and Kanu, but there are a lot of good strikers in the past and now.''
The Nigeria Football Federation and coaching staff are known to scouring Europe for a genuine number nine, and Cyriel Dessers has proven himself to be a top marksman with 29 goals scored in the league last season, including a hat-trick against Taiwo Awoniyi's NEC Nijmegen in the promotion/relegation playoffs.

Five years contract? Most of the power is with the club. It is up to Guardiola to let the boy go. I understand Pep's challenge. I see him switching to a 4-4-2 formation next season. He was brutal the last time he tried it with Aguero and Gabriel Jesus attacking.

He needs a third striker because most of the creative forwards like Sane, Silva and De Bruyne can play Support. However, I feel he should soften his heart and let Nacho go.

I am disappointed that Guardiola insists he will not let Nacho go without a replacement. It will prove difficult convincing a quality striker to join City because our Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak insists Aguero is staying. With Gabriel Jesus there, a quality striker might end up not playing.

With Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling who can play as strikers, I think Guardiola should let Iheanacho go and promote one of the young forwards. Moreno will join the team later and I see Gundogan and Sane having the ability to play the role.

Although they are not as lethal as Iheanacho in the box, I feel we can cope without Nacho. I hope Guardiola sanctions Nacho's departure early to give what ever clubs that gets him time to blend him in during the preseason.
