that Manuel Akanji lose to Switzerland pain me
while we were chasing after players not ready to play for us.... we lost someone who won't have turn us down had it been we try....
the problem we're having NFF are so shortsighted
they think foreign groomed Nigeria players are only in the English, Dutch and German youth system...
thank God for rohr...
if not players like ebuehi, serenzen bazee and more won't have been easily looked into..I think the NFF and rohr need to do more especially now that England is no longer a safe haven for picking up groomed players

Ejaria committed his international future to Nigeria, a while back. Unfortunately, that midfield area is crowded. It might be difficult to get Lookman and Solanke but the others might not be too difficult.
bro...you know these lads play for traditional English teams...Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea and spurs...
these are teams except Chelsea that encourage the influx of young and vibrant players into the first team...especially Liverpool and spurs...
should these lad start to get a starting role in their various clubs...they will never be overlooked by Southgate and co...moreover these tournament will certainly boast their profile and many other upcoming ones will start looking up to them...pledging their allegiance to England

I don't see the NFF as strategic enough to lure these boys not until when they are like 25..
when 3 lions call up is not forthcoming...
the NFF really have to act smart to get at least 3

moreover many will be drafted into the 3 lions sooner or later...the English FA will want to infuse some into the 3 lions team....so as to to transfer same success to the senior team...

West Ham Target Iheanacho Speaks On Potential Exit From Man City

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/ACB1D86E-A22B-4FE5-8F14-DF71F94D17D4-3258-000000F7747799E8.jpeg

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has spoken out about his future at the Etihad amidst rumours of a potential move to West Ham.

20 year old Iheanacho is in the camp of the senior team of Nigeria preparing for Saturday AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa ‎, but his
future has continued to dominate the news both in the local and foreign press.

Known for his goal scoring abilities, he has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City this season following the emergence of Gabriel Jesus, and despite signing a new deal last summer, he looks certain to depart the club this summer.

However in an interview with the BBC World Service Iheanacho said he is not aware of talks with any team on a move away from City despite talks about a potential move to West Ham being held back by issues bordering on buy back clause fee.

” I don’t know about that news though but all I know is am still at Man City, I’m still a City player so all the news that is going on and on, this team wants to buy you and this team wants to buy you, actually I don’t know about all those news”, Iheanacho said.

“Because as we finished the season everyone went on holiday. So I think that not only me has not been playing, the manager rotates the players, the squad, so that everyone can have game time.

“So I know I should be complaining that I’m not having game time but as well as some other players who are not having game time. So what if everyone starts complaining ?, we are one squad so everyone is not going to play at the same time”.

Former coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Sunday Oliseh has been labelled arrogant and proud by respected Dutch publication Limburger.nl.
Patrick Delait reports Oliseh’s behaviour has already claimed some back room staff at the club, with captain Ferry de Regt also said to be on his way out after a bust up with the former Ajax, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund player.
According to Delait assistant coach of the team Tini Ruijs left the club three months after Oliseh’s appointment citing personal reasons, but some club sources confirmed Oliseh insulted his then assistant in front of the players which lead to his resignation.
Team doctor Marco Lemmens and goalkeeping coach Patrick Creemers have also had clashes with Oliseh over his autocratic style when it comes to handling issues as it concerns the team.
Simply put Olishe’s pride, arrogance and authoritarian behaviour has created a seed of discord in the team, which if not checked could destroy the team in the long run, despite how well Oliseh has performed since taking over as coach of the team.
Known for his quick temper during his playing days, it appears the issue is still very much in his ways after his playing days judging by the way his managerial career has gone since he went into coaching.
He stayed only one season at Verviers after a disagreement with the men at the helm, also his stint as coach of Nigeria only lasted eight months with the highlight being his fall out with captain of the team Vincent Enyeama and later NFF president Amaju Pinnick.

I wouldn't exactly say it has been improved upon because out Rohr's 6 games in charge, we have had slow starts in 3 out of 6( Tanzania, Corsica, Senegal), while we started well in the other 3 (Algeria, Zambia and Togo*).
It's been 50/50.
I will say let's wait and see the Super Eagles that will turn up on Saturday.
OK...when analysed
let's keep our fingers crossed

Great observations. I wish Rohr can stamp out that snail like build up we are so accustomed to in the early phases and complacency after we have scored. I wish he can inject two things in place of those accustomed qualities: intensity and ruthlessness.
but that wasn't the case against Zambia and Algeria... we scored early goals

Point of correction. Kayode has been prolific for 3 seasons in a row if you include his 13 goals in the Israeli league before he scored double digits goals in the past 2 seasons in the Austria league. grin

SA is not Senegal and they are not as tough as the Zambians, so Iwobi should survive.

My preferred line-up:

Akpeyi

Shehu....Awaziem....Ekong...Echiejile

Ndidi....Onazi

Etebo...Iwobi...Musa

Iheanacho.

Iwobi should be our number 10

Sub's:

Kayode for Musa @ 60mins
Ogu for Onazi @ 65-70mins
Omeruo for Shehu @ 89 mins grin grin
the line up is awesome....
how about musa coming in for kayode.
ever since rohr last Two competitive match in charge... musa infusion as a sub...had been productive... against Algeria he contributed to victor moses last goal and almost scored against Zambia....
I think rohr will likely stick to that formula as regards musa

this thread tire me. When people question Shehu's inclusion in the team because we have better fullbacks some people will say it's because he is versatile(I even accepted that assumption), now it's Ajagun's turn and you guys are saying Rohr doesn't want versatile players, what then does Rohr want?
it could have been better if this ajagun..can man the post...may be he would have been invited.
let me ask you a simple question...
how many Nigeria players currently can play that 10 role....and list them.
also how many players in the SE can play the RB role perfectly....

Nantes Set To Announce The Signing Of Newly Capped Super Eagles Defender

French Ligue 1 club Nantes are on the verge of announcing the signing of Nigeria international Chidozie Awaziem.
Ouest France says the central defender will be used as makeweight in the deal taking Nantes manager Sergio Conceiçao to Porto, with the Nigerian moving in the opposite direction.
Awaziem is expected to join Nantes on a season-long loan, with an obligation to purchase the 20-year-old at the end of the 2017-2018 season for 12 million euros inserted into the deal.
The young center back has plied his trade at Porto since he started his professional career, and has accumulated 13 appearances for the first team, scoring one goal.
Chidozie Awaziem's solitary cap for the Nigerian senior team was against Togo three days ago.

First of all, we never knew Etebor and Iwobi could play dat position until they were given the chance to prove themselves despite the fact that they were nobodies before they played for the national team.

Ironically, Abdul Ajagun who was already an established player with Panathinaikos, and was very much influential to them lifting the Greek version of FA cup, helped them to place 2nd twice in the league, and played in both the Europa and Champions league qualifiers was mischievously, deliberately and unjustly overlooked for an academy player and a NFL player.

Now, you are asking who is better.

I will say give him also the chance to prove himself but until them, i go dey talk.

However, Abdul is better than Eteboh.

He is better than Iheancho, Iwobi, Aluko and Etebor when it comes to playing more than 5 roles effectively.

Abdul can do better. Next.
