Chelsea, Barcelona Target Omidiji Gets Advice From Arsenal Hero Kanu After Move To Feyenoord

https://allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/38113Omidiji.jpg

Lateef Omidiji Jr has been congratulated by Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu following his recent transfer to Feyenoord.

The former Arsenal hero recently visited the Netherlands to see Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali, and took time out of his busy schedule to hold discussions with Omidiji before returning to Nigeria.

''I spoke to King Kanu a month ago when he was in Holland, and talked to Troost-Ekong as well, he is my brother,'' said Omidiji to allnigeriasoccer.com .

''Kanu told me to keep doing what I'm doing and continue to make Nigeria proud. Both have played in Holland so they know playing at Feyenoord isn't a small deal.

''They both echoed the same sentiment- keep working hard, keep training hard and the sky is the limit.''

Kanu and Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong represented Ajax Amsterdam and FC Dordrecht respectively, and both are delighted the much-heralded Omidiji will continue his football education at one of the traditional clubs in the Netherlands.

Omidiji added : ''Troost actually played at my previous club Dordrecht and Kanu of course Ajax.

''They are both really supportive and are proud that a Nigerian youth is flying our flag high in Holland.''

Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG were some of the clubs Lateef Omidiji was linked with before he was snapped up by Feyenoord.

People are a product of thier environments.

This guy was born in Russia, went to school in Russia everything he has ever known is Russian. His mindset will be Russian. You know when have been abused for so long you think it's normal. Because you do not know any better or have any other contrary life experience. Everything around him will be Russian, it's not like London where you have Nigeria in London.

Has he ever been to Nigeria? Lived for some time
in Nigeria? He will not leave because he is now institutionalised into being Russian.

Consider Odemwingie who described Russia as the most racist place in the World. Whyhuh He had lived in Nigeria he could see the difference. As. Soon as he could he left.

I think Idowu should be left alone to love his Russian land and people.

Exactly Sir Basco.... they don't just seek him out.... Despite all his efforts, his teammates still don't wanna trust him or treat him like an elite or fine player....

No wonder when Toure spoke about City's attack... he only made mention of Ageuro and Gabby J.... Nacho didnt even come to his mind.

Nacho is not enjoying the confidence of his manager and also of his teammates.... under Pellegrini, this was also a challenge for him until Pelle decided to be playing him more often giving his teammates no choice but to seek him out a bit more....

I am so happy Man City crashed out today. Nonsense!
of a truth I will want nacho to go work with the young tactical German coach next season

it will bring out the best in him...

Why are you so much against The Foreign-borns? Are they not Nigerians too?

Besides Tammy is full-blooded Nigerian from Delta state.... Pinnick knows his dad so well.

Tamuno Oghenetega is his native name.... Tammy is the name gotten from his name Tamuno....

This lad is bound to play for Nigeria. Just wait till after the U-20 WC.... na wa ooo...

If England fight, we fight back.... should we be scared of England?? They have Kane, Vardy, Rooney, And so on.... so we have a huge chance with Tammy.

The Nigerians of foreign up-bringing are still Nigerians.... let us not be so subtly discriminatory abeg.
perfect reply...sir

Pep is a good and intelligent coach but...... his managerial qualities.... well.... make I no talk too much.

Congrats Wenger and Arsenal and Iwobi.... yes Iwobi... you didnt play today but you shall at least be on the bench in the final.... while Moses starts for Chelsea...

That way I am sure a Nigerian will certainly bag an FA Cup winners' medal.

Okay guys.... Iheanacho speaks.... and from what I see... He and theGoodJoe are on the same pages exactly.... He is only on one page with me.... and that is working hard and learning grin But on playing time? well.... undecided

Playing time struggles don't seem to ruffle him one bit kinda....

and from the video of their training I saw on man city's YouTube channel... Nacho was so happy mehn... doenst look disturbed at all.... he even played a prank by locking the gate the other players were going thru to get unto the pitch for training... crazy lad....
He and Sterling found it so hilarious... really crazy children undecided

Well, I believe Iheanacho is smart and knows what he wants.... He is just 20... if he sits out most games at age 20 and 21 but gets to explode at 22 and carries on the fire from there till he is in his thirties ... then fine... so be it... what is far more important I agree with Nacho and theGoodJoe is his development.... and not just Headline news....

In the longest run.... it is true deep quality that outshines other top quality... I just hope this pays off.... From now on... I am in #ObservationMode in this Iheanacho issue. No more major comments.... He is already a beast in training, as even pep attests to that.... just prays he turns that beast into world class on field or all the wait will be for nothing.... but I strongly believe and know for a fact that Nacho will become World class.... yes I said it... comman beat me if you disagree.... ntorrrrr smiley

Iheanacho ready to fight for place at Manchester City

By Oluwashina Okeleji
BBC Sport, Nigeria

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/480/cpsprodpb/5F9A/production/_95747442_gettyimages-653601552.jpg

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho says he is ready to fight for his place in the team, amidst competition from Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero.

The Nigeria international, 20, has scored seven goals this season but has found first-team chances harder to come by than during his debut campaign.

Despite only five Premier League starts this season, Iheanacho welcomes the extra competition and insists he is improving by playing alongside great players.

"I cannot pretend that I don't hear what people back home [in Nigeria] say about my lack of regular football but I will continue to fight," Iheanacho told BBC Sport.

"I don't worry about those comments. All I need to do is to keep working, keep doing well and keep improving every day.

"Sergio Aguero and Gabriel [Jesus] are really really great players that we need in our team.

"As a young player, I'm happy playing alongside these fantastic
because I learn and get better every day.

"It's a big thing for my career to compete with these players. I'm okay with the way things are going and I wish Gabriel a quick recovery to return and help the team."

Iheanacho scored 14 times and produced seven assists last season even though 25 of his 36 appearances were as a substitute.

That feat saw him finish as City's third-highest scorer in all competitions, behind Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne.

At international level, Iheanacho has scored five goals in eight appearances for Nigeria since making his senior debut against Swaziland in November 2015.

He starred as Nigeria won the 2013 Fifa U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates for a record fourth-time.

He emerged as the tournament's outstanding player, being voted the Most Valuable Player.

Iheanacho scored six goals to secure the Silver Boot as the competition's second-highest goal-scorer.

same thing with Mikel...
the only problem is we have no replacement for him presently in SE..because should he start sitting on the bench in SE games...
I guess he will have a rethink

how can you fight for your place in a team...when you're not given the chance to do so.....

there is a difference between fighting for your place when given the opportunity and not being given at all....

How can that ever be a pure penalty when Victor Moses was already falling before the contact? It is a very clear dive. As long as Moses was on his way down before the contact, it means he went down on his own.

Today, one of the highlights of the game was Tottenham Hotspur is very limiting when it comes to their bench. There is little to no competition in that team. So it is easy to make a name at Tottenham Hotspur compared to having a player like Aguero ahead of you.

Look at Trippier who would never start a game for Manchester City plying full game for Tottenham Hotspur.
what are u saying... the fact that he could not start a game at man city.. does not make him a bad player..just same way the fact that nacho not starting for city under the over hype pep does not make him a bad player...

spurs is a team that gives young players ample time to flourish...

Yes, the "expert" suggests that he doesn't recommend sleeping with everyone.

But I think he is assuming humans are objective robots that cannot get entangled EMOTIONALLY.

For instance, let's say while the lady is playing "rotational dating", she starts having feelings for Dayo.

But alas Bro Kunle is the one who steps up with The Ring.

You expect her to AUTOMATICALLY switch off all her feelings for Dayo?

This just goes to show that we should always do our own thinking, no matter what the "experts" say.

Please will you stop this. You mention don santos to backup your claim, but you forgot Paul pogba left man u to juventus for playing time. Paul pogba became one of the best in the world due to the action he took, and please don't tell me he never stay to learn the all and all of a midfield legend. To be the most expensive player in the world no be moi moi. look at other young players like mbape, rashford even dybala and dembele, they are playing and still learning. No one is saying training is not important, but when you combine playing and training together it gives you quicker and better results. I don't think you know what playing time can do to a player, it gives you that moral booster to want to learn more. Let me give you a typical example, in school after the day's teaching you are given homework to test your understanding of the topic. I haven't contributed to this discussion, I just don't know all these players well enough. To start making deductions.

However, in assessing these players we seem to be talking about past glories. We need to look at the present continous.

Beating 2/3 or even 4 players in youth football and trying the same in a professional competitive game are completely two different things.

Taking it further dribbling and beating your player in the Finnish league is a lot different from trying it in La Liga or the EPL.

I can't say anything about Awoniyi beyond his stats are very poor and no amount of dribbling can change that.

I can understand forgiveness displaying his massive bias in his analysis but I find it difficult when another absorbs it. Is it not Iheanacho in our last friendly against Senegal that comments came of Iheanacho making some nice moves? During the game, someone even asked who was the player making such moves and another replied Iheanacho.

Now someone can absorb Awoniyi is a better dribbler. Remarkable. Please stop this campaign. It is sickening. Is it not Iheanacho we watched dribble the goalkeeper and score that earned him CNN goal of the week.
